I always order their sushi lunch specials and I haven't found any better without driving a distance towards Harrisburg. I mostly get spicy tuna and it's always fresh. Same with the salad and miso soup. The staff are extremely friendly and my call in orders are ready in 10 minutes. read more

If you love super super bland food, where the "spicy" tuna isn't at all spicy (and neither is the wasabi...), this is the place for you. We ate less than half of the sushi we ordered and nobody even asked us if everything was ok. Nothing seemed particularly fresh. At least the warm sake was good, and the service was decent. read more

We visit the Hershey area regularly and have come to enjoy Wasabi. We have eaten a lot of sushi, all around the world, and it is not the best BUT the restaurant is inviting, the servers are exceptionally warm and gracious, and the food is nice. Just a couple of thoughts about the other reviews since they were so harsh... In our experiences, salmon rolls are made with chopped salmon sometimes. And some people get an upset stomach (worded politely here) if they do not eat raw fish regularly, though I think it is certainly possible that he ate a piece that was not fresh enough. We have eaten there multiple times without an issue. I would recommend that a diner stick with the very basics when trying a new place. read more

Nice Atmosphere, Clean decor, Friendly wait staff. Now for the food. I'm a big eater, so I got 2 Appetizers.... The screaming salmon Lightly seared, with jalopeno rings, and sauce over a few sprigs of asparagus. Very good, and fish was amazingly fresh. Big portion, too.....More than enough for the average eater. The House Bowl Assorted fish pieces with avacado and hot sauce over rice. Nice portion size, and quite tasty, I should have ordered 2. I recommend this appetizer. Main course was Beef Teryaki. Cooked perfectly, and delivered on a sizzling cast iron pan over a bed of string carrots and onions, covered in a teryaki glaze. Delicious. Not nearly as sweet as I expected, which was good. GF got a scallop app, and the cherry blossom roll, and a corona. I can't speak of the flavor, but she loved them both. One of the best sushi joints in the Harrisburg/Hershey area. We ate here for the first time a week or so ago. Everything was fresh, yummy and made with skill. ...and the prices were very reasonable. I would say their prices are well below those of other local sushi bars. Don't let the low prices fool you though, this is good sushi. I loved the Tai Tai roll. Oooh, and when you are seated you are provided with fresh out of the fryer noodles to gnosh on while you are waiting for your entrée. The noodles are not in the traditional shape though, they are almost like triangular tortilla chips, which is cool and different. Service was great too. I liked that they also have a grill for our non-sushi-eating friends. We plan to return very soon. read more

I have dined at many Japanese restaurants. This by far was the worst~! We had to go to Mcdonald's to kill the tastes. What a waste of 81.00. The soup was warmed up water with a mushroom in it. It literally tasted liked dishwater. The hibachi food was teaming up with teriyaki sauce , I guess to kill the fact the food was not good. The salad was the only item that was at least average. The presentation was nice, but that is as nice as it gets. I would recommend any fast food place over this one. read more

I got takeout from here last week and I was not impressed whatsoever. The sushi was pretty fishy and the tempura batter was chewy instead of flaky and crunchy. My suggestion is find a different sushi place if you are thinking of going here. Not a fan at all. I won't be returning. read more

Wow, I don't know how I had such a different experience from the first two reviews, but I love this place! My husband and I have gone about three times now, and it has always been fantastic! I have ordered sushi rolls every time, and they have always been fresh and delicious. Salmon, white fish, tuna...all excellent. The potstickers are AMAZING! so light and delicious! My husband has ordered a variety of non-sushi dinners and liked each one. I urge everyone to give this place a try! read more

For Central PA this place is pretty decent. Clean, nice decor, good service, inexpensive. We ordered a couple rolls from the Chef's Special Rolls list and the vegetable tempura bento. Though lacking a bit of ambiance, the sushi was very good. Fresh tasting with great flavors. We ordered only off the chef special roll list, but it was all good from the basic Phili Roll to the TNT and Volcano and Mexican roll. There is a bar and a decent wine list so no BYOB here, and prices were pretty good for special rolls. All in all we had a good dinning experience. We will go back. My boyfriend moved here a little over a year ago for work, and we have been skeptical to try sushi places. Coming from the NYC area, we have some of the best sushi places around. However, we are both so glad we tried this place! The rolls were great, although a bit small, but the fish was very fresh! Tako su appetizer was great also! Place was packed on a Saturday night and people coming in and out to order/pickup takeout. Service was good- waitresses friendly. Ambiance was cool- can either sit in the sushi bar (high top tables or right at the bar) or in the dining area. Definitely will be back!! read more

On my first visit my overall impression is not good at all. I lived in Japan for over 4 years so this may be an unfair review. The menu is well stocked with everything you would want. The place is clean. I went during lunch and it wasn't busy. Service was extremely slow, took about 10 minutes to place my first order then another 10 for me to get my miso and it came out almost cold. My main meal was sushi a la carte. I initially asked if they had otoro, good sushi places have some but it usually isn't on the menu as it can be pricey, but after asking for it twice and the waitress did not know what I was asking for I moved on. I then ordered hokigai (surf clams), maguro (tuna), unagi (eel), and hamachi (yellow tail). It took another 15 minutes for that order to come out. If it was good I don't mind waiting...this was not the case. The items came out at room temperature, the rice was hard, and the unagi was stiff. This was obviously not a fresh service type of place. The waitress was nice and smiled a lot but I think it was because of all the mistakes she was making. In her defense we did have a party of 20 and not one other server offered to help. After I was clearly done eating I waited about 10 minutes for the server to come back and ask if I wanted anything else...I said no and it took at least another 10 minutes for her to return and another...yep, you get the idea, 10 minutes to get the check and get out. Being new to the area I am looking for a good sushi bar...this is not it. However, the reviews are very good and numerous for this place so I will go back and try them again. Heck, everyone has a bad day now and again and should have the chance to redeem themselves. read more

We dined their for the first time last nite and we will definitley go back! Delicious, fresh, well prepared food, presented beautifully!! The staff knew it was our first time there and we were totally ignorant of the japanese menu, but the waitress was very nice and accomadating. The atmosphere is plain, but purposefully so, and although it was crowded we didn't notice. We ate in the dining room, but there was a bar area separated from the main dining room. Ate at the Wasabi Bistro before a concert at the stadium. At 5:00 on a Saturday, I was surprised how sparse the place was. The inside is well-decorated and clean and the wait staff was very attentive, asking for drink orders as soon as we sat down. I had three rolls- the California roll was fresh and tasty with ripe avocado, and the Jungle roll was amazing. whitefish and avocado topped with "medium spicy sauce" and served warm. The last roll was so bland I can't even remember the name. It had lettuce, which I never had as a part of sushi before. I believe it was just shrimp and lettuce and cucumber. There was supposed to be a "spicy sauce" but I tasted no trace of any sauce. Loading it with ginger and soy sauce made it taste slightly better, but I will probably never order it again. My experience at Wasabi was overall good though and I will be back to try some more of their special rolls and a la carte items. read more

I just had a party tray made for a bridal shower. The sushi rolls were BIG and so fresh, really just perfect. The tuna nigiri was also large and very tasty/not at all fishy. They make the best drinks and if you are looking for the real japanese dining place you need to stop at Wasabi in Hershey. I would tell all my friends to stop for the real sushi. I love this place, simple yet elegant. The sushi are always fresh and delicious. I became a regular at this place although they only opened for less than a year. The service are always exceptional and the sushi especially the TNT and Tropical Inferno are yummy and my most favorites :). I'm glad that i found my favorite place to fix my sushi cravings in Hershey. I had tried other places but nothing is like this place. I brought my husband here on his birthday hoping to cheer him up after a bad day at work. I as excited to see a sushi place open in Hershey. I've tried Tokyo Diner in Hummelstown which was terrible and Sakura Do in Hershey which wasn't too bad but not the greatest so I was still on the search for a great sushi place in my area. Well I'm still searching. After arriving we were greeted by the hostess and sat right away. I did not find the floor and chairs sticky like the 1st reviewer but thought the place looked pretty nice. The menu sounded yummy and I ordered the shumai, seaweed salad, salmon sashimi, and a variety of sushi rolls. My husband ordered the sushi sampler which I personally think is a mistake to order because you don't get the best choices. Anyway the shumai and seaweed salad were tasty and my salmon sashimi looked fresh and tasted good. I have to say my rolls were also tasty but my husband's sushi sampler did not look appetizing. The fish did not look fresh and my husband said it tasted only ok. When we got home my husband became very sick and (sorry to be graphic) on the toilet for the rest of the night. I had a stomach ache but luckily that was it. It is safe to say we will never be going there again after my husband got so sick. Obviously the place does not keep a safe, clean kitchen nor does it order the freshest fish for sushi. My search for delicious sushi in the Hershey area continues.... read more

Save your stomach and go elsewhere. It's the morning after eating sushi at Wasabi and I still feel like I just walked out the door. You know that uncomfortable full feeling like you ate too much. The problem is between the two of us we only ate 3 rolls. Three rolls would normally be just an appetizer for us, but they were so bad we couldn't even finish them and immediately felt sick before we left the restaurant. All night long our stomachs twisted, turned and bubbled until I decided to just stick my finger down my throat and...well you can take it from there! It was our third time at Wasabi and each time it's gotten worse and worse. I have heard from friends that more than just a few people have got sick from this restaurant. We love sushi, and finding decent sushi in the Hbg/Hershey area is getting harder and harder. Yeah we're inland and I realize that but I lived in the rockies at 7000ft above sea level for 16 years, ate sushi at least once a week and NEVER got sick. These things called airplanes deliver fresh fish daily all over the country so theres no excuse. Save your money and stomach and find a good pizzeria. Plenty of those around here. read more
