Dr Birnbaum gave me an exam 08/02/2017. I found him to be gruff, rude and using a book that is from the 1940s. He gave me 3 diagnoses of ills to my eyes. I had ordered this pair of glasses as backup. I cannot see out of them! I had my eyes checked again elsewhere and there was NO change from the prescription I came in with and he ordered for me UNDER. The order should have been -2.25//1.75 and -2.75//1.75. He needs to retire and the practice needs to fill my Rx properly. Of course I have received no response from the above message I sent and have since learned of 2 friends that had the same experience. Now, I get a call trying to see if they can make it right after I complained in person twice add the 20 miles each way drive x 2 for exam and pick up if I did so. Nah. Yup, she was lovely but fueled my fire. There are other options for eye glasses in Warwick. That said, I will stick with my NJ eye doctor and order online Zenni Optical. read more

I've been going to this place for years! The staff is always super nice, the owner is extremely knowledgeable and, the selection of frames and options for multiple lenses is extensive. DO NOT GO HERE. The doctor was extremely pleasant, as well as the front door staff. However, the manager here is extremely rude. There have been issues with billing and the manager is unwilling to speak with me and resolve them. They've billed my eye insurance for services not rendered. The manager has swore at me and hung up on me on the phone, not letting me speak at all. It's really shady. read more

I had an appointment for an eye exam and when I arrived I was told that I had to take some kind of special test as well and that the technician for that test was not present so I had to reschedule. Needless to say, I did not go back. read more

The owner of Warwick Optical did reach out to me an apologized to me in regards to my experience. Based on that, the fact that he is running a small business (as I do myself and word of mouth means a lot), I appreciated him reach out and apologizing. The ladies in the optical store were very helpful and nice and the woman who helped my son and I choose new glasses was very patient and sweet with my son. Went for an eye exam, got a vitual exam, purchased glasses, they were ok but 6 months later I felt as if I wasn't seeing that great, went back and got an exam by a real person, they recommended new glasses, of course. Had them put the glass in my own frames, when they are ready they just give you the glasses and say ok, goodbye now, no sitting down with you to make sure they feel ok and that you see well, and I didn't think of that, I don't do this every day. Turns out I could not read through these progressive lenses, went back the next day, Manny actually was trying to tell me he could give me back my own lenses because the prescription was not much different, but did not want to be giving a refund. REALLY, if my eyes were only slightly worse then why did they recommend I get new glasses! However, he no longer had my old lenses, so they had to re-order the proper lenses. The new doctor they have is amazing. There staff has always been pretty good to me. I've had a few problems in the past I will let go, but their I believe the doctor's name is Sue, she has very kind sweet hearted. My insurance changed and Warwick Optical was the only facility within 15 miles. I was able to book a convenient appointment quickly on a Saturday. They evaluated my current prescription and the doctor was very efficient completing my exam with only a slight change. The receptionist was friendly and provided an iPad to complete the "paperwork". Natia who helped me with my glasses selection was fantastic. They had many options and she was very knowledgeable on the fit and informing me which options were worthwhile. Don't go there. I had gone to Rheile but decided to switch. Bad mistake. I got lenses for my existing glasses and asked for the anti-glare coating. It was some cheap junk that made everything look purple. My friend said it looked like there were holograms on my lenses when she looked at me. I've gone back to Rheile. Today, July 2nd 2020 I had a 2:40pm appointment to get an eye exam. Since I just moved here to this area and wanted to support local businesses, I thought this would be a great thing. Boy, was I wrong. when I walked in and went to check in for my appointment, I was greeted with "what do you want why are you here". When I stated I was here for an appointment, I was told again rudely "we are busy so you have to wait". I decided to walk out. When a call was made and an attempt was made to talk to the manager or owner, what was stated after an fumbling apology and a question of could we speak to the owner was " I am the owners son so....." Just rec'd an email from this place, asking why I left a nasty review. I DIDN'T, have NEVER BEEN there but HAVE ONLY EVER HEARD GREAT THINGS. It seems to me, looking at the reviews, someone with an axe to grind somehow used my email (? a warwick.net email?) and posted some contrived garbage. ALL the recent reviews are 1 star? C'mon. Love love love this place. The thing that makes Warwick Optical so special is the staff. Every single time I go into this store the staff goes above and beyond to help me. I'm giving 2 stars because the staff were all super friendly and that deserves something. This bad rating is due to the fact that I felt I was being ripped off. I have really good optical insurance and use it annually, I have never been charged more than my copay for my exam and today they tagged an extra $50 on it and told me it was for an additional exam they did on me (without my knowledge or consent) and told me I had no choice and there is a sign in the window about it. They also tried to tell me my contact lens exam wasn't covered under my insurance, when I asked why not it always has been the girl said "ok I will take your word for it"! Last but not least they marked their designer frames up 100%. My insurance allows me $200 for frames and they were trying to get $180 out of my pocket for Tory Burch frames that I found online that retail $180. Wouldn't recommend, there are other businesses out there and never going back. read more

My experience at Warwick Optical was an excellent one. Manny and his staff took the time to accommodate all of my needs and more. The entire staff was very pleasant and professional. They were all very thorough. The Dr. took the time to test my eyes with a variety of different multifocal contacts which I was given samples of to bring home to further test them. I have not found this type of professionalism and service at any other place I have been and would HIGHLY recommend Warwick Optical. They're the best! read more

I happen to be walking past this shop one day and stopped in. I was amazed by the vast selection of amazing frames. I have been to numerous shops in New Jersey where I live and have looked in shops in Wayne, Montclair, Morristown and Engelwood but never have I been able to find the variety of choices I found at Warwick Optical. I bought a pair of frames and the owner went out of the way to order me the lenses I wanted although it's not the lenses he normally orders. Although it's almost an hour from my home I cant wait to go back for another pair. read more
