I had already taken my son elsewhere, so I asked them if their offer could be applied to me and they agreed. Jen, the manager, met with me and took exceptional care of me while I was in the store. I had a very good exam (by a different doctor) and ordered and picked up my glasses. Throughout the process, Jen was helpful and caring, as well as apologetic for the previous issue. My glasses are actually better than my previous pair in terms of quality and quality of vision, but I paid enough that they should be ($300+ after insurance). All told, my experience was the opposite of what my family experienced on our first trip. I advise you to read all the reviews and make up your own mind, but after a terrible initial experience, Cohen's gave me very good customer care when I went back.

They have a cool feature that allows you to virtually try on glasses. DON'T judge by that, it's inaccurate. Go by actual measurements of the glasses & compare the size to a pair you already own & like how they fit. Next phase: I got an email saying my prescription was out of date. It was not & I resubmitted another copy, but ended up having to call customer service to set matters straight. It took longer than I thought it would to get the glasses, but that was ok, too. I liked the glasses (bigger in person, but hey, that's the "style" now. Problems: the box was not properly sealed (you could reach right in the side & grab them if you were so inclined). There was also no receipt. It must have fallen out. As of today, I've had to call four times to get a proper receipt to submit to my insurance for reimbursement. They have sent two that do not indicate that I've paid. (Not that they'd send them to me without paying!!!) I'm still waiting & time is running out for me to submit the receipt. I will say that everyone I spoke to was very nice & seemed professional. I say seemed because I don't understand the problem in providing the receipt. The store was empty, there was only two customers being helped by a dark hair young Spanish speaking woman. I could not help but notice 10 minutes after I had entered, additional customers walked in (they were all white) and received a notable loud "Hello", and "how can I help you" from both the elderly white man and elderly woman. Even after those customers had left the store, and the Spanish young lady was in the back, no one came over to me nor shouted over to me if I was in need of anything. Another young woman (also white) was initially on the phone when I entered, but when she was off the store phone she made no attempt to address me although I was trying on frames right next to her - she just picked up her cellphone. Luckily, when I was ready to leave the young Spanish lady had returned and she was very warm, helpful and smiled throughout our interaction. Honestly, if it was not for her I would have just left. Ultimately, I purchased one pair of frames on clearance then took my business over to Eye to Eye vision on 211, where I purchased a second pair of frames, had an eye exam and spent $1300 (after my insurance) to fill both frames. I feel compelled to share that their store was quite busy with customers, despite the weather today, and ALL customers were greeted upon entry and helped with no hesitation. This is the 2nd time I had a poor experience at this Middletown NY store, and a year and half later, the customer experience is still very poor - I will not be returning. I rather go to over priced Lenscrafters in the mall or Eye to Eye despite their small selection. I encouraged this store owner to review their security cameras for confirmation of what I experienced 9/26/2026 @ 1:45PM, and conduct a retraining of their staff. They will stay with you and answer all your questions and provide suggestions also. They have a little bit of everything you may need in general household repairs. My most recent visit required me to find parts for a hot water heater installation and I felt a little over my head on knowing what I would need for this project. I was helped immediately and shown all the supplies I would need for the installation. I am great full for their help and will continue to ship there whenever I need supplies.
