I came to this optometrist for an eye exam, contacts and glasses. I was given contacts to try on in the wrong prescription and I could not see anything when I went to remove the contact because everything was blurry because they didnt give me the correct prescription. I was totally blind trying to remove the contact, plus the room was very dark and I couldn't see and it got stuck in my eye. It was very painful and was stuck very far up under my eyelid and it scratched my eye. I eventually got it out after excruciating pain. I also picked up glasses this day and they prescription was also wrong and I couldn't see. They told me "we have to do a major adjustment because the astigmatism was removed and you're used to it" I still couldn't see correctly and I was told "give it a few days". I went home and nearly got into an accident because I couldn't see correctly. My eye was in so much pain over the next few days, I had to see an emergency Ophthalmologist in Manhattan to give me medicine for the scratch. My eye was damaged due to their scratched my eye. I eventually got it out after excruciating pain. My eye was damaged due to their negligence. I was seen by a better optometrist in manhattan who gave me the correct prescription glasses which was different from the ones they gave me that I couldn't see. I had to fight my insurance to make an exception for them to cover a new pair of glasses. I told Looking Good optical and they said you can't return them. I am willing to return them and I wasted $245 on glasses I can't use, $40 in co pays for the scratch and $20 on 2 types of antibiotics from Looking Good Optical's injury they gave me. I want a refund and they are unwilling. I am certain it is because I am a woman of mixed race. Any other white person would have been given a refund. I am tired of being treated different because I look different. read more
