A very unfortunate experience. I went in for a routine exam and left with less than nothing. Less because, aside from not getting what I went in for, the service was negligible, the doctor was hasty and flippant, the prescription was uncomfortably inaccurate, and they billed for it anyway. I've been wearing glasses for 35+ years for poor vision and astigmatism in both eyes. Using my glasses is literally the last thing I do when I go to sleep and the first thing I do when I wake up. I've been to a lot of different doctors in a lot of different places over the years, so I'm experienced with the process. Sometimes adjustments need to be made, which is fine, the important thing is to get it right. This time was unique because, not only was the distance strength flawed (slightly blurry), shapes appeared distorted in the bifocal. My iphone (which is, of course, a rectangle) looked like a trapezoid. Straight pieces of paper were angled and words looked skewed. Bifocals are relatively new for me, but I've been wearing them for the past 2+ years without any issue. I knew immediately that something was wrong. When I mentioned the problem with distance blurriness, the staff told me to give it about a week to adjust, but I really think it would be dangerous for me to go out wearing glasses that made it difficult for me to see clearly. The staff was noticeably less than enthusiastic about helping with a solution. They went back and forth a few times, gave me a store device with the same prescription to try (which had the same problems), made a couple of adjustments, and when nothing fixed it, they scheduled me to come back to see the doctor the next day. When I returned, they dismissively went through the same motions which again didn't help, and when I said there was still a problem and nothing was working, the "customer service" person said "well, the doctor only went off of what you told him". Really? Then why did I go to see a doctor? Was I supposed to measure my own astigmatism prior to the exam or something? They also kept mixing up what I was actually trying - first they said it was the middle prescription (for computer use), then they said it was the bifocal (for reading), then the doctor said it was the same as my current prescription (which didn't make any sense), so I just felt like they didn't really have a grasp on what they were doing in general. When I pointed out that it couldn't be the same as my current glasses because everything physically looked different, the doctor got defensive and said "how can you tell me that it's not the same? I know what I did". I'm not convinced :/ After a few more failed adjustments, the doctor then said "if this doesn't work, then I don't know what to tell you". Well, that actually says a lot. The Dr. could at least have reexamined my eyes to figure out where he made the error, but they never even offered to do that. Finally, after multiple attempts to explain the problem and some understandable frustration with the lack of resolution, I got tired of it and told them to forget the whole thing. Eyemagination is still billing for the exam, which turned out to be useless, and I now have to deal with my insurance so I don't lose the coverage when I go for another exam elsewhere to get it done right. I understand that with the combination of distance, mid-range, and close prescriptions, there's a lot to measure and calculate. Add in astigmatism in both eyes, and there's plenty of room for possible mistakes and adjustments. That's why I rely on professional expertise. Eyemagination very much lacked that. I was looking forward to having an updated prescription and new glasses, so this was a real bummer. The place seemed disorganized and hectic too, which made the whole thing uncomfortable. I wish I could have done something differently to facilitate a successful outcome, but if I can't see, then I can't see - there's no way around that. I'm sorry to be a downer in this case, but it really just didn't go well at all. read more

It is hard to review this one. I have been to them before many years ago and Lou and the staff were always great. They now are in a new location which is more visible and set up nicely. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. It is now Feb 2021 and my new insurance lists them. So far great but the response to me was, our first appt is in June. It must be nice to have so much business that you can turn away new people. I went elsewhere and my appt is in 2 days. read more

Eyemagination is my place for a Thorough eye exam by Dr. Galina. He is very patient and very knowledgeable. He recommended an OCT test an found out I had a Epi-retinal membrane on my right eye which he checks every visit. The girls in the office are wonderful from the front desk Yani and Francesca to the optical side. Lou and Hely are always very helpful in picking out my glasses or adjusting my many pairs. It a very friendly office and it has a family atmosphere. They have a new location and the office is very beautiful. Friendly, professional, and helpful. I went to them, and the first experience wasn't bad. The optician, Lou, accommodated me, even though his initial choice of frame was horrible and I managed to get something else. Four years later I needed a new prescription and also decided to get computer glasses. The prescription was fine, the computer glasses weren't. I initially wrote a review and got bullied into taking it off, even though I said nothing wrong. They wanted to try doing the computer glasses again, and I foolishly complied, traveling from upstate (since I had moved). The optician was convinced he knew what the problem was, and despite promising me an eye exam, he changed his mind after I had traveled down. He made some calculations and reordered the glasses. They arrived and they STILL weren't right. They refunded me at least $100 less than the total cost. I traveled all the way down for NOTHING, spending nearly $120 between a round trip Trailways bus and Uber, and it was all for naught. Wouldn't recommend. read more

Truly incredible! I used to work really close and a coworker of mine went to this wonderful crew for her glasses and contacts and they went above and beyond to help her find the right lenses for her including replacing them... twice! I moved further from them and went elsewhere and I was very unhappy with the service as well as the warranty care and they are a big name company. First, the Ladies at the front desk were so welcoming! Then Dr. Galina was engaging, informative and funny. Josh helped me pick glasses and I am so incredibly grateful to him for doing everything he possibly could so I was able to get the glasses I wanted affordably! Affordably! And all with a smile! Visit was horrible, were rude and wouldn't explain well. Said insurance wouldn't allow my new pair of glasses until the end of the year, but when I went to another glasses care center, they gladly said i was eligible. Had to call insurance to make them cancel the administration because they refused to cancel it on their computer after I left. I was looking for a new place to buy new glasses and found this place through my insurance company. I can't say how pleased I was with the service I received. When I got my glasses I couldn't see through them. I figured I needed to get used to them, wore for two days and realized something was wrong went back where the Dr. examined my eyes and realized that there was a problem with my prescription. They took both pair of glasses back to redo them. I asked if it was possible for me to get my sunglasses before I left on vacation and they promised they would try and low and behold my sunglasses were ready in 2 days. Everyone at this office was very professional and helpful. I couldn't be more pleased with how they worked with me to resolve my issue. I will definitely come back again and refer others to them as well. I can't remember the names of the two gentleman that worked with me to resolve but also to the Dr. a big Thank you for your service.
