I got the grilled chicken pita and a mocktail. The mocktail wasn't good at all. The 11 or something. Not sure. The pita was ok. The chicken was really good, veggies fresh. They really needed some Kalamata olives in it. The saltiness would have made it better the fries were crispy and airy, but lacking salt. The dips were a fry sauce, ketchup, and tzatziki sauce. Fry sauce didn't have much flavor. Tzatziki sauce was weird. Didn't seem to have cucumbers in it. My friend said his bison burger was good. Juicy, not overly salty. Our waitress was very aloof. Not much for conversation. She would do drive byes and see how we were going. The restaurant itself is nice. Music is playing, but you can hear two different stations on. For the chicken pita, it cost $24. The burger was like $26 or so. For that much for the pita. I expected more. Can't even pick it up to eat it. Definitely knife and fork. read more

Had a great experience at Warfield yesterday. It was a quiet and very cold day in Ketchum and we were looking for a spot for a snack and a cocktail. We like to "test drive" an establishment in this way before taking the plunge to commit to a full meal. This was wonderful and we are looking forward to coming back for a proper meal before we leave the area. Hubby had a draft stout that he enjoyed. I had a specialty cocktail with the Warfield Local Whiskey, maple, fig balsamic and black walnut bitters. Essentially a dressed up Old Fashion, but a tad sweet for my palette. However it was a greatly crafted cocktail so I'd feel confident ordering another craft cocktail here. Looking forward to a gin cocktail next time. We also nibbled on the fried cauliflower served with ranch, buffalo and lemon. Hands down the best fried cauliflower I've had. Would order again. Hands down! We had the best server! I did one of the top ten things that a customer shouldn't do, but I picked two items from the menu and asked her to pick the one I should get. I was NOT disappointed! The sausage and kraut was fantastic. Please see attached photo. I didn't pay any attention to what my friends got, b/c, let's be honest, I was starving. Celiacs beware. My husband who has celiac disease asked if he could order the lamb wrap without the wrap. Our waitress apologized but said she had asked before and unfortunately they would not be able to accommodate him by leaving the tortilla off the dish. My brother, who is dining with us, said "well, that's ok. That means it's premade- so it's not fresh and maybe you don't want it anyway." The waitress told us that it was not premade, they just refused to sell it without putting it in the wrap. People who are celiac are not just gluten free by preference- they have a severe allergy. It can be hard to eat places. If your wraps are not premade- WHY refuse to leave the tortilla off? We were going to pay the same for less ingredients. It would have saved the kitchen a step. Whether it be celiac or a preference, I think it's terrible customer service to refuse to accommodate (especially to a severe allergy). We were not looking for a substitution, he just wanted some lamb. No wonder this place is mostly empty when the rest of SV is packed. Drinks were trash but our waitress was so nice we ordered some food for those of us who could eat it. It was not good. No one was impressed. In all the years I've spent in Sun Valley, this was the most disappointing experience I have had. Celiac is pretty common. Do better. read more

First off, JORDAN K as a server is the absolute tops. We are very particular cocktail enthusiasts. She was able to answer every question and ensure cocktail perfection (we had 4 different cocktails ) on top of that, the bison burger snd fries were outstanding. If you like alcohol forward cocktails, the Smoky cactus and Queen of Hearts are creative and excellent. The bartender also made an first rate negroni (dry shake over a rock with Carpano Antiqua vermouth) and a Corpse Reviver #2. Lots of skill here. Great service and spectacular view. Don't pass it up . Another find in Sun Valley. Sat on the roof for dinner, perfect weather and views. Tried a couple of their cocktails and the truffle fries to start. So good. Wife and I each had fish and chips. Some of the best ever. They used cornmeal for the breading instead of typical beer batter. So light and flavorful. The tartar sauce was homemade and light years ahead of most places. Kids had burgers and wolfed them down. Need to come back for the poutine. Bought some of their house made vodka to go as well. Great spot. read more

While traveling in Idaho, we came upon this restaurant that was highly recommended by a the Visitors Center so we decided to try it our first night. This is an upscale distillery and brewery that serves the most amazing dishes by Chef Jay Verrege. We were quickly seated at a table for two. Not a whole lot of social distancing happening, but our table was kind of by itself. Our service was less than stellar, but we will get back to that later. Looking at the menu initially, nothing was looking all that good to me, but I happened to glance over by the bar and saw a chalkboard listing the specials of the day. I saw the Northern Pike Fish and Chips and knew I had to try it. My hubby decided on the Kalua Pork Sandwich. I would not have known about their specials as our server Emily failed to inform us. Anyways, my dish was absolutely incredible. The batter used on the fish was definitely the best I have ever ate. The fish was light, easy to eat and paired well with my Thorny Thistle Scottish Ale. The shoe string Idaho potatoes were also prepared just right. The Kale Pork sandwich was tasty and I loved the branding of the bread with a giant "W" for Warfield. Like I had mentioned earlier, we were sorely disappointed by Emily's lackluster service and it was obvious that she did not want to be working that night. We did return two nights later, and this time we stayed away from the main restaurant and sat at the bar. You are probably wondering why we returned, we just really enjoyed the tasty beer and food this place makes. Our bartender Jared totally made up for the other night in service. He was friendly, educated us all about the whiskey that the distillery makes, and provided us with samples of the whiskey too. We were having such a good time with him and a few other patrons that we decided to eat again. Jared took really good care of us and others. Beer and food was delish! We sat in the breezeway and the sun shine and ambience is hard to beat in downtown Ketchum! Split the napa Caesar salad and the burger. So yummy! Highly recommend this place for a casual but higher end lunch or dinner as opposed to a classic like Grumpys (both are hard to beat but depends what your looking for) Beer was also tasty. The bartender recommended the pale ale and it was delish! I was looking for more of a hazy and it matched my craving perfectly. Thanks Warfield for a lovely afternoon. Decent stop, but somewhat of a letdown from reading all the glowing reviews of this place. My main concerns are: 1) Food is extremely overpriced IMO. Best "bang for buck" here seems to be the Warfield Pork Sandwich coming in at $16, lots of pork that you can eat with a fork before eating the entire burger. But besides that, most of the real menu items (even appetizers) are just too damn high. 2) Beer selection (specifically IPA) and taste wasn't that impressive. Perhaps IPAs aren't the main attraction here, but none of them were on the level of Mother Earth (Nampa, ID) and Revision (Reno, NV), which I view as the somewhat "local" gold standard for IPA. 3) Beer "flights" or lack thereof. First time I've been at a brewery where you can't pick and choose your own combination "flight" of beers, but instead given a single choice of a pre-selected flight (which is a combo of Ales, Lagers, Stouts). 4) Not a big deal, but it seemed like most of the times I've been in Ketchum, this place was closed for "private events". Felt like this was an exclusive club, and once I finally caught the place NOT closed for a private event, the food and beer didn't meet the hype. The interior and atmosphere inside were the biggest perks of coming here, 2nd story bathroom was clean. I was visiting in the winter, so the upstairs balcony wasn't open, BUT the real wood fireplace near the bar area made it extremely cozy inside.
