Honest review, food is delicious. We were running around Sun Valley to try and find a lunch spot and decided to go to Hailey for a less crowded experience. We asked the bartender/server what to order, she said the pot pie was delicious. And she was correct. The pot pie was home made and nothing like I've had before. My friend ordered the chowder and it did not disappoint! Very good food for the price. You do have to order at the bar and pay at the bar, there are no servers that come to the table. But otherwise drinks and food came out fast. This places gives a homey cabin feel. read more

Great place to stop in for a tasty beer & dinner. I had my heart set on the Pub Reuben, but they were out of a key ingredient. So, I settled for a burger & fries. It was pretty good for pub food. The dunkel wheat beer was rather tasty. I need to come back and try some of their seasonal options; the head brewer here seems to come up with some great ideas. The layout inside was roomy, but bright. I did like the decor here. Parking was a bit limited, with the piles of snow around the outside; I ended up finding street parking and walking over. read more

Service was the best part of our experience. Quick and friendly. Ordered flights and was not too impressed. there's definitely some easy fixes that could be done here to improve the beer. The hazy IPA was decent and the lager was okay. Irish red had too much roasted barley and was basically a light porter. Clean water, temperature control and avoiding oxidation would also go a long way. Seems like an old school brewery set in their ways. A few changes and effort would revamp this place for sure. The food is decent, but the restaurant service is lacking. Didn't expect to have to walk up to a register to order, self-serve napkins, water, etc. Server was also working as a bartender and was extremely attentive to the folks at the bar, but didn't really have time for anyone else. What a great place in a beautiful little area! Upon landing at the airport in Hailey, ID, we chose to stop at a brewery on our way to our hotel in Ketchum. With that being said, I think we chose the right one! Right away, we were welcomed by a friendly waitress ready to seat us in our preferred location within the restaurant. My group chose to be seated on the outdoor patio in some comfortable patio seating. We did not order any food, but chose to do a beer tasting. The waitress explained that they were able to customize the "flight" to include whichever beers from the menu we wanted. This was great because we were not limited to a certain number of tastings and were able to rule out the kinds of beers we knew were not our favorites. Another thing that is exciting about this brewery is the way they offer different beers depending on the season. This would ensure that the experience is different when potentially visiting again! I liked the place. A throwback as it had a small town feel to it. Mostly locals and they were friendly. I sat at the bar and got good service by the man and woman working it. I had the chicken pot pie, a dinner salad and their Amber Ale to drink. I thought it was a good meal. Hailey is little less high end than either Ketchum or Sun Valley. We didn't have any food. A place that calls themselves a brewing company however, should deliver at least marginally in that one key aspect, no? Well, they sure as hell don't. They're the worst in the Valley, which is saying a lot because the other breweries are not good either. In fact, this is far towards the bottom of the list of the approximately 290 breweries I've visited. I've also had over 5,300 unique beers, so I don't F around. Sun Valley is largely a beer wasteland, much to my chagrin. Also, I can't neglect to mention that for the quality of beer, charging $1.88 per sampler (plus tax!) is simply egregious. $16 for 8 awful samplers (equiv. of only 2 beers!)... ugh. I was actually angry to see that bill. Ultimately, the beer seems to be largely irrelevant here as it turns out, as it seems like a real locals place. Our server was pretty nice though, so there's that. read more

We love hitting up breweries anytime we travel. My wife doesn't even drink beer but still loves to go out to breweries. They usually have great atmosphere and good creative food, and for me tasty beer. Sun Valley Brewing had neither. It was more like the neighborhood dive bar than a brewery atmosphere. There wasn't anybody there which should have been a clue. Of the 6 of us who visited nobody said their food was great. It was average at best and leaned more on the 4-5 out of 10 scale. Edible but more what you'd expect from dive bar. I had a cranky uber ipa. Wasn't worth ordering again. Service was decent. Not great but not bad. Pretty much the whole theme of the place. Underwhelming. So far our sun valley area brewery experience has kinda sucked. Hopefully we find something memorable. Seems like the area is ripe for the picking if someone would just step up their game. read more

At first we tried power house, where we were told dogs are not allowed. We continued on and found another restaurant with outdoor seating. We saw a dog wandering around off leash throughout the restaurant. We arrived with our golden-doodle, leashed, and asked if we could sit outside. We were told yes, but when we sat down outside, we were told we needed to exit the wooden area and that we needed to sit farther away from the restaurant. There was a dog off leash with its owners sitting at the entrance on the wooded patio area. If you are going to enforce rules please do it universally. Other tables spoke up and said they had observed other people with dogs eating all over the restaurant, and they were shocked as well. Just didn't sit well with us. read more

Really frickin' good chicken wings and I love wings. I wish they were served with blue cheese but I guess Idaho is ranch country. My girlfriend and I were passing through town and this was a perfectly timed pint. Lady working behind the bar was really nice. Great food, good prices, nice brews I was really surprised by the high prices at the restaurants in and around the Hailey, Ketchum, & Sun Valley area. I was told it was because it's a tourist area - but I'm from the DC Metro, I travel a lot, and these prices were higher even than I'm used to! The Sun Valley Brewing Company was a delicious departure from this! They had a nice selection of HUGE salads, reasonable burgers, pizza, and other pubby fare for reasonable (not bargain, mind) prices. I got the Chinese Chicken Salad - with the mandarin oranges on the side. What was interesting, was you could get a large or half salad. But the price diff was only 50¢ but the difference in sizes was significant. Sort of like upgrading of the popcorn at the movies for 50¢. Not to be wasteful and because I'm staying in a hotel, I got the smaller size. It was yummy! My friend Sonja got the chicken alfredo pasta served with garlic toast and it looked yummy! Sitting outside on the patio was lovely! The sun shades helped with the glare and the mountains surrounding the town was a beautiful backdrop! Finding a reasonable place to gnosh in this area is a challenge - the Brewing Company is a terrific tasty joint that won't break your bank! read more

This place is a joke. The waitress brought food at random times at a table of 4. On top of that she took plates that were half finished in front of you without asking. On TOP of all that she charged 20% gratuity on a table of 4!!!!! You have to be kidding me! The 2 of the plates brought out were cold from sitting in the kitchen while she was drinking her beer. The beer was great (octoberfest brew) and glasses cold, but I would rather slap my testicles against a behive than come back to this place again. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and the place was horrible. The wait staff was not attentive and acted like we were an inconvenience. The food was horrible, it seemed like everything was cooked in the microwave, I had a quesadilla and it came out soggy and limp, yuck! The Mediterranean salad for dinner was excellent! The pizza Bianca was also fantastic. Both were fresh, flavorful and delicious at every bite! My other half liked his beer and was pleased with the Brewhouse Louis salad. We will be back for the great food! The waiter was refreshingly honest and on point with his suggestions for food. He had a great sense of humor and a kindness and realness that made us feel at home. Having read the other reviews, we expected it to be a little grungy and it was. It actually seems to be at the end of how dirty you can actually let carpet and floors get. It would be great to see a little renovation and deep cleaning happen in there! read more

An institution in the valley. Good solid food that is consistent every time I go there. I love their chicken pot pie. It's always hot and tastes spot on. I like the well rounded menu, I've tried most everything on the menu and there isn't a thing I can't recommend. One suggestion for the restaurant: a kids menu would be awful nice. I don't come around often because I can't justify buying a full adult plate for my child who eats like a bird. It gets way too expensive, way too fast. So I happened upon this place on an overnight. I love brewpubs so I had to give it a go. My partner and I had already eaten dinner so we didn't get a chance to sample the food (FWIW, it smelled really good). We did have a few of their brews. I enjoy IPAs so I started with their Roundhouse IPA, which I really enjoyed. Pretty hoppy but not over the top. I also tried the White Cloud Ale which is an amber english ale. It was a lot smoother that the IPA (of course) but reasonably tasty. The place was pretty crowded for a Monday. and the live music was pretty good. The staff was also very friendly. Ah, the Brewery. This place is a mainstay in Hailey. One of the two bars that I know of. I grew up in Hailey and whenever I'm in town I make a point of stopping by here. The decor is simple and welcoming. It feels a lot like a lodge, especially with the fire place. Service is friendly enough and they get your food out to you in good time. I've only had to send a dish back once in over 7 years of eating there. Their chicken wings are to die for, I am convinced they need to bottle and sell their in-house BBQ sauce as I've yet to find one that is better. The bartenders know how to make any drink I've ever asked for, so no complaints there. They've even gone as far to brew me a fresh pot of coffee at 9pm when I asked for an Irish Coffee. As a final plus, they haven't raised their prices for as far as I can remember. I have been to Sun Valley Brewing Company many times and have always found their service to be very pleasant and efficient. The beers are always exceptional, and I usually try to do a sampler platter when I am remaining overnight. The food is slightly above average, I have always been satisfied. The Angus Burger is better than a jarls jr one. Good atmosphere, great helpful and friendly staff. They let me put Roxanne just outside the outside eating area. Stopped here to grab some lunch... food was okay... had to eat healthy, so I went with the Chinese Chicken Salad... took some issue with the salad itself. The Salad had those tiny, weird corns and the flavor didn't really mesh with the ginger dressing or the mandarin oranges. Minus the freakishly tiny corns, the salad would have been much better. My wife and I went here for Lunch. The Pine Top pale ale was one of the better beers that I have had. I tasted the IPA and it was pretty good too. My wife had the Blonde Lager and she enjoyed it. The beer is brewed on site and very fresh tasting with no off flavors. The food was average to good, but nothing spectacular. The bartender was very helpful. We had some driving questions about how to get to McCall, he pulled out his iphone and looked up the directions and road conditions for us and also gave us some suggestions on scenic detours. The bar had it's share of local characters. We overheard a conversation that was between a **really** drunk local and was directed some out of towers. Even though it was freezing out, the local invited the out of towers to his property "any time" to go fishing. They were tolerating and him nicely and he was a very happy drunk! It was a funny conversation to overhear! We would definitely go back if we were back in Hailey! read more
