Stellar service. I couldn't be happier. I lost my glasses and urgently needed a few contact lenses to get me through the next few days. I'm not even a customer at this store, but they didn't hesitate to help. They offered me a free sample box of contact lenses that matched my prescription, no pressure and no strings attached. I had also checked with Costco, and while they had samples available, they said I could only get them if I placed an order. That would have left me without contacts for a week. Here's my question. Why would the employees who work here get preferential treatment for the four free parking spots behind the store? I asked the clerk who checked me in and he said he liked the convenience of being able to park in the back to come to work. And, I, the 75 year-old customer needs to walk to a multi-story parking structure two blocks away. He added that, if they, the WP workers, couldn't park conveniently close like that, there would be no one here to help me, the customer. I asked him if the company endorsed the workers taking those four parking spaces. He said, yes, if there are spaces available. And stay for their entire shift!!! I find this hard to believe and hope that Management will read this review. These spaces are perfect to stop in easily for my short visits to the store. I walked in at 2:16 to see if I could get an eye exam wanting to buy reading glasses and there were 4 employees standing around, I was greeted by one of them and I asked if I could take the 2:15 appointment that I saw available online... I was told they had one for 2:55 and I inquired about the one for 2:15, his response was "well it's 2:17 now". No customers inside!! Walked out and will never come back. read more

The service at this store is poor, and the workers strike me as lazy. I spent a considerable amount of time in traffic and came to this store just over 30 minutes before closing to get an adjustment to frames I recently purchased online. I was told that optician left early and to come back tomorrow when she will be there until closing. Why post your hours when you don't offer your regular basic services during your store advertised store hours? And, they sold me lens cleaner saying that "free refills for life" and have now changed their policy. Excellent customer service! Great return policy too in my opinion! The optician here is very knowledgeable! Sorry I didn't get a chance to ask his name. I bought a pair that ended up being too strong, too thick and too heavy -- due to the style of frames I picked. I was able to return it and get my full money back. You get 30 days! Next pair I get, I'll make sure to follow the opticians recommendation so I'll have better fitting frames. I've owned many pairs of Warby Parker frames and they're super durable! If I could give zero stars, I would. The eye exam was rushed and unprofessional, and the optometrist kept cutting me off. When picking the glasses I was asked repeatedly to come back the next day because they were closing in half an hour. Glasses delivered by mail to my home. I've always had my purchases sent to a WP store. They no longer do this. So, if you want to have them adjusted, you have to go to a store. Logic? Charming spot featuring a large selection of their frames. Easier to try on and check the look of things than just shopping online. Easy parking nearby in lots or street. I was able to do a return here and the clerk was very helpful. There seemed to be two people working very hard. I visited, midday weekday, and there were about 12 people shopping. It made things seem a bit cramp and the queue for help was very informal. Maybe a sign up sheet or something when it gets busy? I noticed there was a small chip in the lens just before the 60 day replacement policy ended so I sent them back for repairs. Shipping was super quick. I've been wearing them for a few weeks when the one lenses popped out! They told me to take them to the store so they could be fixed. I asked them to send me a new pair. Hopefully, this one doesn't fall apart again. As much as I love their frames, once I receive my vision insurance, I probably won't buy another pair. Located a little from the main area in Walnut Creek, there isn't much parking nearby. It's probably best to park in a parking structure and just walk over. The store front is pretty tiny but all Warby Parker's are similar. I just wanted to go in to get my nose pads replaced and my glasses cleaned since I got my glasses from a Warby Parker over a year ago. The workers are really helpful, they just easily took my glasses and gave it back to me in under 10 minutes with no extra cost since they are Warby Parker frames. You can download their app to virtually try on frames or even order some to be sent home to try out frames. You can always purchase and make exchanges too. Lots to choose from with different styles for your face shapes/sizes. I don't have any complaints with my glasses, they're fairly priced and they always have nice styles. read more

I'm a few weeks postpartum & came here with my fiancé & our baby to check out some glasses. We noticed that there were only stairs to get inside so while he waited with our newborn I went in to ask if there was a ramp or another way we could get in the store with our stroller. I asked the girl I saw & she said they had an elevator. She took me towards the back of the store where we were met with a sour faced, blonde, disgruntled looking employee Amanda. Looking as bothered as ever Amanda replied "I don't know" when the other employee asked about the elevator. After repeating "I don't know" about 2 or 3 more times in a fed up tone as the employee explained that I had a stroller but wanted to enter the building Amanda finally said rudely, "I can't let you use our elevator. It's only for handicapped people. It's the law." At this point I have two questions: how does Amanda know I'm not handicapped & how am I supposed to bring my baby in? I ask Amanda the latter & I'm pretty sure she rolls her eyes at me as she says "I don't know" **AGAIN** & suggests that I carry the stroller up the stairs with my baby in it. Mind you, I am still recovering from major abdominal surgery & have been advised by my doctor to not carry anything heavier than my baby who weighs about 9lbs. I tell her I can't carry the stroller up because it's heavy. Now Amanda is even more annoyed since she must actually find a solution & she suggests that one of the employees help me carry the stroller up the stairs. What the fuuuuu**? So instead of allowing us to use her precious elevator that she's bound to protect, genius Amanda thinks I should allow a random employee/stranger to carry my precious newborn baby in a 40+ pound stroller up several stairs during the omnicron surge of covid. Am I the only one that realizes there are several things wrong with her thought process? And if they drop my baby & I sue, then what? I give this place 1 star for the cute glasses but the accessibility issues & Amanda's customer service are absolute trash. Amanda not only lacks professional & social skills but her critical thinking skills are at an absolute zero. Never have I met such a rude, insensitive, bird brained "supervisor." After reading more reviews, I realize that the rude dirty blonde woman other people have complained about is (shocker) Amanda. Im not sure if this is a race issue either (as per other reviewer) but she was much friendlier to the older white woman I saw her assisting after our incident. I'm wondering why there are several complaints about Amanda yet four months later her behavior & attitude still haven't changed? I bought my glasses online but I brought them in to the store to get them adjusted. They were moderately busy but fortunately everyone was masked. When you arrive, someone immediately offered to help. I told her I needed my glasses adjusted and she said I had to wait a few minutes because the person I needed was on a break. When he came back, he was very helpful in getting my glasses adjusted to exactly how I needed. He did two rounds of adjustments. Watch your step on the way in and out! The step is unexpected but seems to be an ongoing tripping issue because they alert you about it too. read more

So I have been intrigued with Warby Parker and decided to give them a try. The initial experience is pretty good because of the knowledge and enthusiasm of the associate. I need Asian fit glasses and he brought several for me to try. The initial pair I bought didn't meet my expectations so within the 30 day return option, I did just that. I went in several times for adjustments and had to come back because the person doing adjustments didn't come in to work. Ugh! Parking can be a nightmare here. Don't even try the tiny lot unless you are right there at the store opening time. With my new pair, past 30 days now, the just aren't meeting my expectations. I'm going to see if they can adjust them further because the bottom of the frames are hitting my cheek and the inside of the glasses are coming into my eye lashes causes smudges. Best Asian fit glasses for me so far are TC Charton. They aren't as broadly available so you have to look at what the OD office offers but give them a try. You will love them! read more

I've been getting frames/lenses from Warby for some time now. This is the first time I've struggled with getting my frames adjusted. I bought two new frames in April and went back to get them adjusted as soon as I received them. After the first adjustment, they still kept getting loose. I have been back three separate times since then and all times, there has not been an optician to adjust frames present. I have basically only come by when I'm in the area so I haven't called ahead of time, but I just don't see how an optometry office doesn't have an optician to make adjustments. read more

I live in Berkeley where we have our own Warby Parker, but I had to go to the Walnut Creek location for an eye exam. I figured that I may as well buy my glasses there too instead of taking my rx back to Berkeley. I loved all the staff. They were so welcoming and accommodating. There was a male staffer named Larry (I hope I am remembering his name correctly) who was super patient with my questions. Buying eyeglasses is basically an exercise in vanity. There's no getting around it. But I tend to be shy asking strangers -- even friendly staffers -- about their opinions on something I am trying on. However, since buying eyeglasses is a significant investment, I was highly motivated to reach out to the staff. Larry's input was extremely helpful. I wish I could remember the names of the other staffers. The optician who measured my eyes was very sweet. My exam appointment was scheduled first thing in the morning and hers was the first face I saw right when the store opened. Later on, a staffer fetched her to measure my eyes and she was still very sweet. I also want to thank the staffer who actually made the sale. She actually told me her name several times but once again I forgot. Lol. Either it's my age, or being in grad school, or all of the above. She, too, was very patient in answering all my questions. She even took out an extra tray of frames so that I could consider all available options, not just the ones on display. And when I picked one that I liked but that would not be practical for my lensing needs, she was honest about pointing that out. Honestly I could live in this store. Lol. It's so pretty. But I don't know what I'd do all day with a bunch of frames. Haha. Also, this particular location of Warby Parker is unique for being located in what is apparently a historical landmark. Warby Parker seems to be doing a good job of maintaining it. Although as of this writing I'm still waiting for my order to be processed and shipped, my in-store experience was fantastic. read more

DO NOT GET GLASSES AT ANY WARBY PARKER!! PLEASE BEWARE!! The staff is nice, but the quality in lenses and frames isn't there! The lenses will easily scratch and IF you get anything expensive like progressives and transitions, you're looking at almost $500 to replace the lenses only! I'm 2 months past their 6 month warranty window and now I am stuck with scratched lenses! They have lots of frames, but I've found they're cheap- they need adjusting and the screws need to be tightened constantly. I haven't had to do that in over 10 years with the other frames from my doctor's office. Just go to a quality established eyeglasses store, like your doctor's office etc and make sure you get Verilux coating so you can protect your investment! Why would anyone buy glasses anywhere else? I'm on my third pair- 2 glasses, one sunglasses- and I love them all. I usually browse on the app and come in with a shortlist of what I'm thinking of and then try them on and decide. There's always someone super helpful to provide an extra opinion. I'm sorry to say I was pretty disappointed. I went to Warby Parker based mostly on their ads about what a reasonably priced provider they were of quality glasses. Turns out, they're like all the rest. They draw you in with promises of reasonable prices and quality products but once you're in, they're like all the rest. "Here's the base price, then add on extra for lenses...oh, and add $100 more if you don't want the inferior ones, etc.". So the $95 frames end up being $500. We do like their glasses, but the sales folks here - yikes. My husband and I get glasses yearly, we have really great vision insurance. Today's salesman asked to see our insurance card and said "oh no, we don't take that" (Nine months ago it had paid in full for progressive transition glasses with special lenses for both of us here) "We only take 2 insurances." They were helping me and giving suggestions by handing me some frames. One employee literally just staring at my kids the whole time and immediately went fix the display frame after they touched it. I saw her to reevaluate a progressive pair of glasses I had bought from WP. Gagan was patient and thorough, explaining each step along the way.
