I have changed optometry offices over the last several years because I have not been satisfied with…read moreany of them. That all changed today. A few weeks ago, I called to schedule an appointment. I was told I should complete the patient form online and bring it to my appointment. This morning, on the day of my appointment, I received a text message an hour before my appointment instructing me to wait in my car when I arrived and to call the office. Erika answered my call and said I could come in and to knock when I was at the office. She brought me back to do the initial intake and and the pre-exam tests. I have major anxiety when it comes to the air puff test for glaucoma. She was patient as I had a hard time keeping my eyes open as I always blink like crazy. I asked if it was ok if I lifted my lids to keep them open. That seemed to work. At one point, I actually let out a faint scream because I was startled. Once we were done with the pre-exam she brought me to a room to wait for Dr. Vicky Wong. Dr. Wong was very thorough in explaining what she was doing during the exam, the test results, and with her recommendation since I mentioned that my eyes have been irritated and dry. She suggested that I look away from my monitor during the workday every 30 minutes and to blink. She also gave me a prescription for Xiidra eye drops to use for six months which should help to produce real tears. I was offered a sample and discount card. Note: Allied Pharmacy is conveniently located on the same floor of the building. I had to schedule another appointment to come back to have my pupils dilated to finish the eye exam as I wouldn't be able to see very well for two hours afterwards and I had to go into the office today. When we were done, Kim Barnhouse, the Office Manager, assisted with the payment and scheduling my next appointment. When I got home, I noticed that my state of residency on my receipt and prescription reflected MA and not MD, so I immediately called the office and Kim corrected them both, had the prescription encrypted, and emailed both files to me. If I had any issues with receiving them, she offered to fax or mail them. Sharon Pollack assisted with adjusting a pair of sunglasses I have as the frame had gotten loose. She suggested if I leave them in the car that I shouldn't because they can get warped. She said I could come back any time to have them tightened. I can't say enough good things about the staff in the office. They are an all-star team and the epitome of customer service. I have never experienced this level of service before from ALL the office staff. Everyone is professional, personable, and helpful. I am certainly going to recommend them to anyone who asks. This will be my long-term optometry office from this point forward.

I browsed around and was impressed by the selection of glasses and lots of staff members available to help customers. LensCrafter's has really redesigned their stores to be plush and comfortable. Six minutes later, Ifty brought me my glasses all fixed and looking good. I promised to come back after my next eye doctor appointment and get my new glasses there. I took a pair of glasses with scratched lenses there on Friday before leaving the area for several months. If this was the only time she has been so excellent I wouldn't bother writing but this is just one of several examples where she has proven to be the most helpful employee that I have ever met. Apparently the Yelp info has not been updated. I was placed on hold for approx. 10 minutes. The page states that they indeed do sell ZEISS lenses. I posed this question to the person who answered. I was placed on hold again for several minutes, after having to repeat and spell ZEISS. She had never heard of that brand. After my second wait, I was told that they do not use ZEISS. I guess I'll go elsewhere.
