I made an appointment in advance, which I would highly recommend. Maria and I sat down and she asked me a few questions and paid attention to the answers. We spent a good while chatting as she wanted to know my lifestyle. I asked her to bring me some samples of frames that she thought would work for me. She was very attentive and patient as I tried and retried different pairs of glasses. Because she was paying attention during our chat, she remembered everything and found the PERFECT pair of glasses. I actually bought two pairs because I needed glasses for just computer work. I was notified when they were ready and made an appointment to come in and check them out. Again, she spent time with me to perfectly adjust each pair. I couldn't be happier with these glasses. The lenses are of a much higher quality than what you'd get at Lenscrafters, and it's really noticeable in the clarity of the glass. I tend to be a little rough on my glasses, but they have been perfectly fine, and extremely comfortable. The prices are a little bit higher, but with the attention to detail and the overall quality of the glasses is sooo worth it! You get what you paid for. I had such a wonderful experience at Moda Optic. Maria was absolutely superb in assisting me to pick out my next frames. Before I was even able to look at myself with the frames on, she ensured that it fit properly on my face. Once she found the correct fit, then i was allowed to test and try on glasses. Outstanding people at Moda Optic. Without going in to the details, I was having an issue with a pair of glasses that Moda carries, but, unfortunately I got them before I knew of Moda. Jesse diagnosed the problem and fixed them. The change he made was from a previous optician ho did not install the lenses correctly. No charge to fix them and now I can see!! I had selected frames that fit well, but had been hoping for purple, which they didn't have. When purple frames came in, Maria remembered and let me know and I was able to switch to those. This is as good as it gets for optical stores. They dont pressure you into anything and they have the best selection of frames in the area. The store itself is beautiful and has a HUGE parking deck behind the building you can use for FREE! I listen to Maria and Lena's advice and now get daily complements about my eyewear. I went in looking to work with Maria. She was busy so while waiting she asked the other woman working to help me. I can not stress this enough she was awful..Did not introduce herself. Did ask me if I would like help. When expressing that I was looking for something specific, she basically told me I was wrong. I am 4 feet 10 inches with a small frame. I have been wearing glasses since I was 15 I am now 50. I know exactly what size frame I want PETITE! Do not tell me a size 52 frame will fit me comfortably if I want something closer to a 47/17/135. Yes every frame is different but either you have petite frames or not. Everything she pulled out was large. Her customer service skills were extremely lacking. While I was there Maria did come near me so she immediately gave me a small frame to try. That is the only reason for two stars. Lesson learned go in and only work with Maria. I immediately drove somewhere else in Potomac and amazing they had petite frames. read more

As someone who doesn't wear or know anything about glasses, finding a pair of well-fitting glasses for my toddler was WAY more challenging than I had ever imagined...until we went to Moda. Our pediatric ophthalmologist recommended Moda and he was absolutely correct--they are incredible! Jesse worked with my husband and my son to find a pair that fit well and met a few criteria that the doctor had recommended. Great selection of kids frames and really cool frames for adults, not the same things you see again and again in chains. The quality is great and the personalized service AMAZING. Every time I go it's a wonderful experience, with lollypops and some toys for the kids so that I can make a selection in peace! Maria, the owner, was initially recommended to me by the Head of Ophthalmology at Children's Hospital for my then toddler who needed glasses. She was WONDERFUL and helped fit my daughter with glasses that would stay on, yet looked really cute. She made our daughter (and us) very happy. The glasses cost a little more, but it is so worth it. They help you find the right pair for your face and prescription. AND if one of the kids bends or breaks a frame by sitting on it, etc., Moda Optic has fixed it for us for free. If the glasses are really broken, they usually have been able to get them replaced at no charge through the manufacture's insurance. I cannot recommend them enough! . read more

Maria is a gem. When I happened upon Moda, there were not many adult frames on display. The propeietor, who I soon learned was Maria, asked what I was looking for in a frame. After telling her, she had us take a seat and she went about selecting maybe a dozen frames. (Many of them were in drawers under the shelves.) I am a take charge kind of person and was not thrilled with someone else picking frames. Had I known Maria's skill, I wouldn't have worried. She tried each of the dozen on me without me even looking in a mirror. She created three piles: yes, no, and maybe. She discussed what she saw in my prescription and my face, and what may suit me best. As I tried on the "yes" and "maybe" selections, virtually every one was amazing. She had picked things I wouldn't have chosen, yet they were perfect for me. I was just browsing there, and intended to get glasses once I got back home. But even places with the same brands of frames didn't match Maria's professionalism, enthusiasm, and skill.
