This is my favorite food truck in the Hudson Valley , but hard to catch as I am a weekender. I am ecstatic that there is now a permanent location where I can grab my favorite dishes. Don't be put off by their simple appearance, their sophisticated takes on comfort food with international influences have made converts of the fashion industry friends I have dragged upstate from Manhattan. Pork belly Kimchi tacos are delicious. I love the cream puffs with added chocolate truffles. My go-to is the lobster mac and cheese which is more of a light creamy saffron pasta than cheesy, but it is better that way. My only complaint would be this dish is skimpy on the lobster meat, which is reflected in the affordable price. It would be great for to have an upgrade option, where you could get extra lobster for an upcharge. Menu is constantly evolving. We just enjoyed our first meals at Wandering Dave's permanent restaurant location in the Acme Shopping Center, near the Red Rooster, this afternoon. And, it was WONDERFUL! We were thrilled and will definitely be frequenting this family owned, food truck business that has blossomed into a permanent location. We like to support local private businesses! We couldn't recommend this place more vocally!! Neighbors had written about it on FB, so we tried ourselves, and we felt like we found a new gem! This place is a welcome restaurant/cafe for our area -- and it's clean, modern, and nicely designed. We loved their menu selections and the fact that they are committed to serving fresh, real food!! It's well done, friends, and worth a visit! We were starving, so we decided to start off by sharing some garlic fries. Freshly preparied (in nice clean oil) , enough crisp on the outside, and hot, fluffiness inside. The generous serving was prepared so that "just the right level of garlic" inhabited every bite, and we are both garlic lovers. The freshly shaved parmesan cheese added the flavor edge that took them over the edge. We polished them off in minutes! I chose a daily special of fresh pappardella (perfect, al dente) with perfectly huge, pan seared,fleshy and perfectly prepared set of 4 huge sea scallops with fresh shrimp as well, prepared with the perfect amount very creamy pink sauce that had me swooning. Hubby ordered the fresh Korean Tacos (3) with Shrimp that arrived generously stuffed with complex, fresh and crunchy sweet sesame slaw, beautiful organic greens and Sriracha Mayo. He inhaled them. Nuff said. Casual attire, they do a lot of take out business and also THEY DELIVER LOCALLY!!!!!! which is truly a special thing about them in these parts!! Go. Stuff yourself. Wow! Such great food! We got the steak gyro - so much flavor and a great twist on a classic item - and also the fettuccine with their red sauce. I read reviews here, it was close to where I was going and sounded interesting. The menu is ambitious, breakfast, lunch and dinner, Asian, southern, italian, BBQ... can they do all of these things well. Answer, yes, in fact they can. We had lunch, the short rib sandwich passed the test with flying colors. The ramen was a real surprise, it tasted great and was as good as you'll get in some asian restaurants. Service was on and helpful. Preparation was well executed, great flavors, and the ingredients were of high quality. I'm planning to go back and try the dinner entrees. read more

Do yourself a favor and check out Wandering Daves right now, but be sure to go hungry! Their portions are MORE than generous (a small fry was easily a large fry at other establishments) and their sandwiches were over flowing with ingredients and flavor. We got the Havana Hottie, the Southern Fried Shrimp Sandwich, an order of fries and a small mac & cheese (to go). Everything was insanely tasty and I appreciated that they packed the fries on top with the container open so the fries wouldn't steam on my drive home. My ONLY complaint is with the shrimp sandwich and the bread. This sandwich is a heavier sandwich between the shrimp, aioli and slaw and the bread that was used (albeit delicious) couldn't hold the sandwich together. We went to Wandering Dave's for an early dinner with friends. Small place with 5 or 6 tables. Nice clean modern design. It was hard to choose from the menu, as everything sounded delicious. I ordered the crab cake, which was really the crabbiest crab cake I've ever had. DH ordered the pork belly tacos with kimchi. He loved it and generously gave me half of one. Our friends had the steak sandwich, which they loved. We got fries two ways (parmesan and jalapeno) and mac & cheese for sides - yummy. Great selection of sodas. We'll be back to try more menu items. I've been looking through Yelp recently trying to find places with high star reviews, I came across Wandering Dave's a few days ago and figured I would give it a try. All of the reviews for the most part are excellent so that's what sparked my interest. I ordered the Korean chicken tacos and they were absolutely amazing, The taste was there as well as the texture. It was incredible. I will 100% be coming back in the future, and letting all my friends and family know about this place! The ambience inside the store is very hipster which I like, mostly stainless steel kind of a food truck vibe. I loved everything about this experience.
