They always make my Italian Combo exactly how I ask. Bread is always fresh and just the right amount of meat and vegetables. The best deli in Danbury and super nice people. I wish they would sell lightly salted fresh mozzarella made daily and keep at room temp. Can't get that without going to westchester. That would make it over the top. read more

I got bagels and coffee here and both were good. The lady behind the counter was super nice and the bagels tasted fresh. Just a note that there is currently (as of Jan 2021) a sign on the window saying they're moving down the street so I'm anxious to try them in the new location. read more

Food here is awesome! I've really enjoyed the breakfast sandwiches I've gotten and the lunch sandwiches. I have even tried the salads. It's always been a great experience and super fresh. But I really wanted to write a review because of the staff and the service. Everyone is so kind! They really make an effort to know your name and give you all the attention when it's your turn to order or pick up. Their online ordering option is always SO easy and this is helpful especially for someone who hates packing a lunch in the morning. They are moving to the plaza next door soon and will have extended hours. Can't wait to try their dinner options too! So in conclusion if you want to support a local business that has great food and friendly staff this is definitely a place to check out! Staff was so welcoming and kind during my first visit to Westside Deli. I ordered the Dolly's Special on a roll during the 12 o'clock hour -- it came out within 5 minutes and was delicious! The roll was 10/10, the coleslaw was flavorful, and the Russian dressing was the perfect touch. I highly recommend! I will be back when I'm in the area again. read more

Got everything pizza. Really not sure what was on it cause everything was very small . The only thing I recognized was the broccoli pieces the were dry af . I am sure of one thing it taste the shit. Im sorry to say this cause the place is really friendly and inviting. That might have been the worst pizza I've ever had. And I had pizza in Minnesota and Cleveland . I have been to almost every deli within Bethel/ Danbury area and Lou's is by far the best! Not only are their sandwiches delicious but the staff is so wonderful, bubbly and personable. The customer service is impeccable . I had ordered a few sandwiches for the executive team at my job and with an easy misunderstanding/ mix-up one of the sandwiches was made warm vs. cold. I had called to re-order and the owner made us a new sandwich and hand delivered it himself!!!! INCREDIBLE. Service was great and I liked the atmosphere. The reason for 3 stars is I got a pastrami Ruben and the meat was cheap processed deli meat. I know this because cheap deli meat gets rubbery when warmed up and my sandwich was rubbery. I make my own corned beef from scratch, by brining a beef brisket for 2 weeks. Then I make pastrami by desalinating the corned beef, rubbing it with a molasses and ginger crust and smoking it for 3 hours and then steaming it for 2 hours. My corned beef and pastrami melt in your mouth when warmed up. It definitely doesn't get rubbery. Only fake, cheap deli meat gets rubbery. read more

My husband and I came in to Westside Deli & Catering with five hungry and exhausted kids who had been cooped up in the car the whole day as we traveled from New Hampshire back to our home in Maryland. The guys who helped us couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating. They seemed genuinely happy to see us (relatively uncommon when you enter a restaurant with that many kids, LOL) and treated us like family the whole time we were there. On top of that, the food was absolutely delicious, the portions were huge, and the price was super-affordable. If we lived in Connecticut, this would be one of our go-to places for pizza and subs. I only wish we could have tried the breakfast before before we left town again. We'll definitely be back the next time we drive through Danbury. read more

I hadn't been to the Westside Deli for many years and remembered it as an Italian store with groceries available for sale so when I got there I was surprised to see that things had changed. There were lots of people waiting for their sandwiches so I ordered the Steve's Special which consisted of a chicken cutlet, crispy bacon, pepperjack cheese, avocado, onions, lettuce, tomato and chipotle mayo; it was delicious. I was, however, disappointed that the Italian groceries were no longer there, but if this sandwich is an example of the goodness of their sandwiches, it's the place to go for lunch. Yum! read more
