Seriously impressed by the food at La Promesa! This spot is serving some of the best Latin cuisine we've had in the western part of Connecticut. It's not often you find Guatemalan and Salvadoran cuisine, but this spot is doing it authentically! Everything here is so delicious and made fresh. This is the first spot I've ever tried pupusas at, and I'm obsessed now! The family that runs this spot were so kind and clearly care so much about their restaurant. This place is a must try for anyone that likes fresh, authentic Latin food (Gautamalan and Mexican). Everything was homemade including the corn tortillas, and the shrimp was definitely fresh as well. I knew this place had potential based on other reviews, however it definitely exceeded our expectations. The pupusas were as good as we have had and much better than most of any we have had in the past. We had the Churrasco platter and the another platter that had steak, shrimp and chicken with rice (not instant), beans, fresh macaroni salad (fantastic) hot pepper and scallion and it was all exceptional. The owner's are also very friendly and down to earth. My family and I went there for dinner this evening. We were celebrating our nephew's birthday and he wanted some authentic Central American food (pupusas). Their menu has a good mix of Central American dishes. For drinks we had horchata and tamarind juice. They brought out chips and salsa for the table. Once we ordered our food, what seemed to be the owner came out and offered us to play a round of mini golf while we waited for the meals. We had a blast playing a few rounds with two separate foursomes. Once the food was almost ready, they came out to let us know they would be serving soon. We ordered pupusas with pork rinds and cheese, tacos de biria with consume, steak tacos, and burritos. All eight of us thought they hit the mark. Everything was fresh and had flavor. We mentioned to them that we were celebrating our nephews birthday and that we had an ice cream cake waiting for them at the house but to our surprise they brought out ice cream with freshly made churros for him and the other children and we all sang happy birthday to him. They loved every bit of it! This place is a small, family owned and operated restaurant. We all felt welcomed. The food was exactly what we were hoping for and it was nice to play a few holes of mini golf while waiting for our meals. This place isn't flashy, but if you looking for great tasting, authentic, Central American cuisine, this is it and the mini golf is a fun plus. read more

Not my cup of tea but I'm sure the new residents at the 4 corners will enjoy. The street corn was awful as it was covered in tajin. It was ok,, I'm not particularly familiar with their type of cuisine so I may not be the best judge. Nothing has seemed to make it in that location so we'll see read more
