Unexpected in a strip mall like this, but such a cute spot with great bar, indoor, and outdoor seating. We love the esquite dip, tacos, and of course the different cocktails- great variety of tequila/ mezcal based options! Staff is always friendly. Great for date night or a meetup with friends

I rarely give 5 stars but the food and service were exceptional. The whole restaurant is gluten free which for those that no the struggle, being able to order anything is wonderful. It is a classic Mexican bar and restaurant with the decor clean and comfortable and familiar. They easily accommodated my wife's garlic allergy as well. We sampled 6 different tacos. The pork belly Al pastor , Baja fish and the carnitas were delicious. We had the Patatas Bravas special which had a crema and a Bravas sauce both. I could not stop eating and thought about an order to go. I highly recommend!!!

This is a street taco restaurant with a cool Looking bar. Service was good. Would recommend the Chicken Tinga tacos and nachos.

Wow! My boyfriend and I had an amazing date here! I actually had my hands down best carnitas taco I've ever had! Also, the wings I don't even like wings in general but one they looked good and two they tasted AMAZING! The chipotle honey sauce, I want the sauce bottled so I can cook with it at home! We will 100% be back, from the food to the service it was just a really awesome time.

This was my first time trying Taco Dia and I have to say, the flavors were amazing. I wish I took better pictures because everything was delicious. We ordered the Chipotle Honey Chicken tacos, the Pork al Pastor tacos, guacamole with chips, and churros for dessert. The Chipotle Honey Chicken tacos were out of this world -- sweet, spicy, and packed with flavor. They really bring the heat in the best way possible. Absolutely a 10/10. The Pork al Pastor tacos were equally impressive, super flavorful and cooked perfectly. The guacamole was fresh, super bright, and the chips that came with it were so good. And the churros??? Woooo.. Perfectly cooked and crispy. Major compliments to the chef!!! The staff was friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back again very soon!

Fun place with really great staff. The seating area can feel a bit tight. But there's also a larger bar area if you want to eat on that side. We tried the guacamole, a few drinks and some tacos and the churros. I would definitely come back and try other things on the menu. Definitely check it out if you want some different types of taco and fun flavors.

Taco Dia- thank you for joining the Newtown restaurant scene! We are so happy you are here in town and gracing us with your amazing food and better drinks! This town needed some fresh Mexican and you have certainly delivered on all fronts from service, decor, drinks and food- home run, slam dunk, or touchdown.... You are all of these in one! We have loved both times we have come to eat for dinner. Drinks are strong, fresh ingredients and go down way too easy. Love the strawberry margarita specialty cocktail. I don't typically order tacos when out but all of yours rocked! Fresh, the right amount of each ingredients, and so tasty. My favorite were the tuna and shrimp! We also enjoyed guacamole to start and churros for the win for dessert. We will continue to be frequent flyers here!!! Please stay for many years to come

This place gets so many mixed reviews from people I know, I just had to try it for myself. First off it was a Friday evening so I understand it'll be a lot busier than other days of the week. But it took about 10 minutes for us to even get water brought to our table. Then an additional 10 minutes for chips and salsa. Our server was nice. Our food didn't come for about 45 minutes (6 tacos). The food was gourmet looking, very beautiful, but not worth the price point based on taste in my opinion. Atmosphere was very loud. But what else can you expect from a taqueria?

Decor inside is very nice with pops of bright colors. Nice size menu. We got an appetizer under the To Share part of the menu - Esquites Street Corn Dip. While it tasted Amazing the size was not shareable. They need to move from the mini cast iron to at least a small size one. All the tacos come on a small tortilla. But all the ingredients are fresh and really great flavors. I ordered three tacos to feel just about full. Then I ordered a fourth and that was the right amount for me! Great restaurant addition to Newtown.

We love going to Taco Día. Forrest and Berto make the experience worth it each time. The pork belly tacos are better each and every time I go. The ambience is calm, fun, and energetic. I love coming and bringing new people to this amazing place. If you haven't gone, please make sure you get out! It is worth it!

Taco Dia has great potential. Excellent Mexican cuisine, decent cocktails, friendly personell and a great space, in- and outdoors. At the moment, there still seem to be some start-up issues with the service, eg table-per-server ratio seems too high with their staff being a bit overwhelmed and there was considerable variation in the two identical drinks I ordered, though I would hope they sort out these initial challenges quickly. The tacos I ordered tasted great, with the chorizo being my favorite, though the Birria was rather messy to eat with the hot sauce drizzled over it and I prefer a true, strained consommé to go along with it rather than starchy, thick gravy - but the flavors were certainly there. Highly recommend calling for a reservation as the wait time on a Friday eve was over 40min.

Unassuming from the outside, this local treasure opens into a cozy restaurant and event space with exceptional food and drink. Between the crackling fireplace, plush lounge seating, warm wood accents, sleek bar, and navy banquettes, the atmosphere feels both inviting and refined. The bartenders and entire staff were warm, polished, and genuinely attentive, creating an experience centered around the guest. My martini was aggressively shaken and served in a short coupe, topped with a delicate layer of ice crystals; despite the chill, the vodka-to-vermouth ratio was perfectly balanced. It was garnished with stellar Castelvetrano olives, freshly opened and proudly presented as an elevated touch to the classic cocktail. As for the fare, it was hands down one of the best meals I've enjoyed in quite some time. The Wagyu coulotte was cooked to perfection, accompanied by expertly prepared oyster mushrooms and crisp shoestring tallow fries. I could go on and on about the experience, but I'll simply say I can't wait to return. The thoughtful details and genuine hospitality made for an outstanding night out. We ordered the falafel as an appetizer and I will dream of this! You could tell it was freshly made and I don't think I'll ever have falafel that tastes better anywhere else! The waitress was very sweet and accommodating - even with their technology down. 10/10 would recommend!

The restaurant itself is mine and my hubby's vibe! We love the rustic, dimly lit look in a restaurant! We started with sharing the empanadas. They were delicious. He ordered the butternuts squash raviolis and I ordered the bistro steak frites. (I asked for the fries to exclude the truffle aioli because I cannot stand the smell of anything truffle oil flavored. I substituted it with garlic aioli and asked for a side of bbq sauce for my steak!) Everything was cooked to perfection. Time wise, we were in and out within a timely manner which is very important to me. There is nothing better than going in, getting served right away and then not sitting around waiting for the check! I will definitely be back if I'm ever in the area again. I plan to check out their Danbury location one of these days!
