Super festive, no detail overlooked! Certainly felt like Christmas from wine markers to napkin holders, it felt like a family holiday meal. Warm and welcoming, staff were all friendly and attentive. The clams casino were delicious, beef tenderloin special was cooked as ordered, and the pasta was delicious! The cocktails were also very nice. I look forward to returning!

Excellent happy hour spot with a huge food menu and $8 craft cocktails. We were treated politely by the friendly staff at Sugo. We loved the festive small decor- from the autumn napkin rings to the wine glass charms, these little touches added to our dining experience!

My first experience at Sugo Gastrobar was one I'd love to duplicate. The Christmas decor, food, prices and staff were all just right. We all enjoyed versions of the lunch special, having soups or salad, entrees and a dessert. It sounds like a lot for lunch but the portions were perfect for finishing there. Pleasing to the eyes and the belly was every plate that came out. We didn't have reservations and were lucky to get in before it got busy. I suggest making reservations to be certain you'll have the best experience.

Sundays at Sugo are the best. You could enjoy a delectable prix fixe menu, available for just $32.95. This three-course offering includes an appetizer, entrée, and dessert, with plenty of options to choose from. His Picks: Petite Tuna Tartare Chicken Scarpariello New York Cheesecake Her Picks: Potato Gnocchi Linguine Vongole Chocolate Lava Cake And even have the option to complete the meal with their signature Sangria or one of their handcrafted cocktails on the menu, all priced at just $12. Beautiful interior and great service!

Had a lovely dining experience at Sugo! Right in Newtown, they had a great selection of appetizers, salad, pasta, and more! Also pleased to learn that they have bottomless brunch too. The food was good; the atmosphere was nice for any family dinner or even a date night or friends dinner. The standout was their Sugo Cake dessert; so delicious! Will be back to try more.

First visit here was on a Saturday night. Ate inside since all the tables outside had been taken. We started with a Margherita pizza which was delicious. For main we had the gnocchi pesto which was excellent and i had the pasta in a lemon sauce which was delicious. Other party o was with had pasta with mussels which she loved. The star of the show hands down was the Sugo dessert. In my life I have never had warm sponge cake but it works and it was outstanding. Really like this restaurant and will for sure return the next time I'm in CT. Would sit at bar and order apps and a pizza.

Came here for a girls night dinner. Cute and modern inside. Great menu with lots of cocktails, small plates and entrees to choose from. Loved the arancini and butternut squash gnocchi. All entrees were delicious as well. We finished the night with assorted desserts. I highly recommend the almond cake and holy cannoli martini! Service was efficient and prompt. Prices were fair as well. Would definitely come back!

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely evening at sugo on at a recent Saturday night. We had 6pm reservations- and had no issues being seated early. We probably didn't need reservations, but it's always good to be covered. Everything was wonderful- from service to taste of food. I had the best passion fruit ginger beer mocktail - it was the tastiest drink I have had at a restaurant. I decided to pick off of three small plates- the sautéed shrimp, fried artichokes and the fig crostini. The fig crostini was my favorite- it was sweet - almost like a dessert. The sautéed shrimp was delicious and the fried artichokes were tasty (although the accompanying sauce was wicked spicy for me- my husband liked it). He got a prosciutto pizza for an appetizer and the osso bucco for his main. He devoured everything- literally left no crumbs. We will be back to try other dishes on the menu- everything that was coming out of the kitchen looked amazing! Highly recommended!

Tried this place for brunch with friends after seeing a post on instagram. Loved the bottomless brunch but the server was very slow with the refills to the point where we asked for new bottles and just poured ourselves. Food was good but the vibes were lacking. It was empty and seemed to cater to an older crowd with no music and random sports on the tv at the bar. I had the breakfast pizza but it was dry and lacking a sort of sauce to bring it all together. My friend had the Nutella pancakes and LOVED them.

Be amazed at the fact that sandy hook area and kinda Newtown area has a restaurant that is this nice. I know right I can believe some place in The Newtown related area can be this good in an area that was normally pretty bad. Well.. not a 100 percent true since sandy hook area has mostly good places like the diner and cover two but a dinner place that has pretty good pasta? Yeah that seems almost impossible in a place like this. But hey great service helps the place be even better when most people don't even stop in the crosswalk across the street, so be glad that this gastrobar is doing things Newtown really isn't known that much for doing.

A stone fireplace anchors the space while low, ambient lighting, wood tables, and leather seating create an intimate, inviting atmosphere. I was excited to learn that the bar featured Misguided Spirits' Howe & Hummel vodka from New York City. Stirred, it produced a martini with a subtle sweetness and a hint of cracked pepper, served in a classic cocktail glass with an angular bowl and slender stem. The design felt timeless, keeping the drink chilled while offering a crisp, polished presentation, with the Castelvetrano olives taking center stage. When it comes to the food, I have no notes. The wings were perfectly seasoned, with meat that fell off the bone; the Bibb salad was fresh and dressed beautifully with house lemon oil; and the thin, crispy pizza lived up to its name, with bright sauce and fresh toppings. This is a spot you won't want to leave and one you'll be eager to return to, familiar, fun, and full of character.

Unassuming from the outside, this local treasure opens into a cozy restaurant and event space with exceptional food and drink. Between the crackling fireplace, plush lounge seating, warm wood accents, sleek bar, and navy banquettes, the atmosphere feels both inviting and refined. The bartenders and entire staff were warm, polished, and genuinely attentive, creating an experience centered around the guest. My martini was aggressively shaken and served in a short coupe, topped with a delicate layer of ice crystals; despite the chill, the vodka-to-vermouth ratio was perfectly balanced. It was garnished with stellar Castelvetrano olives, freshly opened and proudly presented as an elevated touch to the classic cocktail. As for the fare, it was hands down one of the best meals I've enjoyed in quite some time. The Wagyu coulotte was cooked to perfection, accompanied by expertly prepared oyster mushrooms and crisp shoestring tallow fries. I could go on and on about the experience, but I'll simply say I can't wait to return. The thoughtful details and genuine hospitality made for an outstanding night out.
