Excellent lunch yesterday 11/29/2025. We had the chicken bowl and steak tacos. The steak tacos were very tender with great flavor, seasoned perfectly. The chicken bowl needs some heat so we added fresh jalapeños. It comes with guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, pico and chicken served in a fried tortilla bowl. The two sauces really add to the flavor with red being slightly spicy. The service was excellent and the restaurant is always so clean. Go with complete confidence. read more

I know it's dumb to order out during a holiday. But I ordered on Memorial Day. Tell me why I placed an online pick up just for two girls to be laughing through the phone and make a weird voice as they were taking my order. I noticed they were trolling because I called with a different number right after and it was a different woman who literally didn't sound like them. Great authentic mexican to take over the former Burrito Shack spot offering traditional dishes made with passion and flavor! Came here with the hubby and only one other patron was dining midday and seemed extremely satisfied with his meal. We ordered tacos dorados, birria burrito and 2 elotes. The tacos were delicious! They came with rice and beans which were full of flavor and cooked to point. Birria burrito came with no sides but a birria consommé that was so delicious, I would gladly drink them as shots! The burrito was not skimpy in filling-well stuffed and full of flavor and the burrito wrap was lightly toasted. Staff is very attentive and willing to satisfy any requests as well as attentive to allergies. Ingredients tasted super fresh and elotes were good but could have used a little more cooking time but the burst of flavor made up for it. We will definitely be back and next time, I will definitely take On the guac...I had an overwhelming sense of betrayal by not indulging in any the first time around. One bathroom that caters to all and is super clean and cute! As for decor, pretty simple with a few sombreros hanging, a big screen tv and about 7-10 tables surrounding the nicely colored walls. As for its welcome to Newtown, it certainly won our hearts, appetites, and taste buds even tho a CASH ONLY operation and IMO surpasses all mexican spots in Newtown in terms of traditional mexican and portions! We've been waiting for Orale Tacos to open after Burrito Shack closed and finally saw lights in this week. We went today and were very happy! We ordered chips and guacamole, both were homemade a delicious. My son had the steak tacos and I had the carnitas sandwich, both did not disappoint. The red sauce is definitely very spicy but lots of flavor. All around authentic and the owners were very friendly, we'll be back! read more

I lived out west for years. I was fortunate to have access to some great authentic Mexican food. It's hard to find back east but there are some decent places. This ISN'T ONE OF THEM! I actually wasn't aware that the Burrito Shack had closed and had been taken over by Orale Tacos. I was already there so I thought I would give it a shot. What a bad decision and waste of money. 1) overpriced and small portions (I thought they gave me 1/2 a burrito). 2) $15.00 for a subpar burrito. 3) tasteless and not authentic. Save your money and go elsewhere. Wish I hadn't wasted my money :( read more

We tried takeout from here tonight. The tacos had a nice presentation, each wrapped in a paper wrapper, with lime slices and radishes. I had a chicjen and el pastor( marinated pork taco. Each taco was amply filled with meat and spices. I could only eat two of the tacos. Why I only gave 4 stars was the el pastor had to compare to Panchos Tacos in Danbury ( they make an awesome el pastor taco.)We also had the elote corn. That was very good but I like my son's version better. Again very good food, big portions and easy take out. We will definitely go back , especially when our son gets back from College. read more

I decided to give this place a try today, I ordered a shredded beef burrito. Overall the burrito was delicious but small. The side dipping sauce was a nice added touch. I would suggest adding free chips and salsa to the dishes since I wasn't full after eating the $16 burrito. read more

Very sweet table service but she forgot our app and one side. Brought our app AFTER dinner, small but good, and comped it but made no apologies for forgetting our side EVEN after we reminded her twice. Besides that, food completely unmemorable. I had steak taco (meager and zero seasoning, I thought it tasted boiled!), al pastor taco (also bland) and I ordered lengua -waitress told me 10 minutes later that they ran out so she would sub birria which I had originally wanted instead of steak and a more expensive menu item. She assured us the price would be adjusted as a courtesy. The birria was tasty. Husband ordered chorizo chimichanga (over cinnamon-y and no heat). Our plates came with THREE (count them!) tortilla chips as garnish. Sauce very commercial in squeeze bottles (including sour cream). When settling up came, I was charged for THREE birria tacos. When I reminded her of her assurance to not upcharge she readily changed the price. Did not charge for the missing side and again, comped the very late app. Never offered drinks but often returned to pour tepid water. It was busy but it is a small place so in the grand scheme of things, I feel like it should have/could have been better handled. Oh, and we did have to ask for silverware, and service was slow. I will not return since there are 2 MUCH better options in Monroe. read more

First time eating at this restaurant. They have a large menu, which makes picking something pretty difficult. All the menus items sound so delicious. The food was pretty amazing actually and the service was quick and courteous. I could taste the freshness of all the ingrediants. I'm certainly planning on returning soon, because there are so many things on the menu that I really want to try. I'm really glad I stumbled onto Orale Tacos! read more
