In town for a play, and found this lovely spot. Amazing authentic Mexican food! Staff are so friendly and courteous. This is a must stop!

Authentic food with a fun and festive atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They have a full bar with specialty cocktails. Chips and salsa arrived as soon as we were seated. We had the appetizer sampler which for two people, could have been a meal. The Chicken Enchiladas and Carne Asada were both good choices. Overall very authentic Mexican food with a great atmosphere. A must try if you enjoy Mexican cuisine.

Took inlaws and toddler with us for a post-shoppjng dinner. We feasted like kings and absolutely everything was delicious! From grilled chicken, to steak chimichurri, to carne asada with juicy ribeye, to even the lowly tilapia, elevated with purposeful flavor. Everything was a plate-finishing must. The tres leches while more cakey than usual, was still pleasantly refreshing. We already liked this place back when they had just started in Bethel and I'm very pleased jt was full of patrons and that their food offerings are even more stellar. Place also looks very colorful and inviting and service was quick and friendly. Definitely a repeater in the near future.

This was my first time in Casa Oaxaca . I came in for a little spur of the moment, lunch date with myself. The food was amazing. The shrimp tacos were delicious. The shrimp was the perfect texture and the sauce was amazing. I loved the decor in this restaurant. It was very festive. The service was outstanding. The server and manager were both hospitable, courteous, accommodating, and friendly. I highly recommend this place and I definitely will be back with friends. Not a critic, but I always leave recommendations in my reviews so the only thing I would say is to add a couple more side options on the plate with the tacos to add at our discretion.. like perhaps a spoonful of guacamole or re-fried black beans. Take a visit to this yummy restaurant guys... You will be delighted.

We were hearing lots of great things about Casa Oaxaca. We stopped in on a Taco Tuesday. Plenty of parking in the lot. Really great decor. Plenty of seating on both sides of the restaurant including a nice bar area. There's also a tv in the bar area for sporting events. Very clean restaurant and a great staff. When we were leaving, I noticed the tortillas being made fresh in the front of the restaurant. Made the experience even better. The food is amazing. They start you off with chips and salsa. We came during happy hour on a Taco Tuesday. We wanted to get a little of everything to try. Everything had great flavors. My favorite taco we had were the Carnitas. Really delicious chimichangas with a fresh guacamole. The empanadas were fried perfectly. The were filled to capacity. It was not like other places that put a little meat in the middle and it's mostly shell. To end the night we ordered churros. Freshly fried with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Really finished off the great experience. Definitely looking forward to coming back soon.

Stumbled upon this place. And bumped into this wonderful bartender Guillermo. What a very wonderful server and bartender. He makes you feel at home. I ordered a chicken tortilla soup and some beef empanadas. The chicken tortilla soup was the absolute best. Nice spices and a great amount of chicken. I would definitely order again. The beef empanadas were filled with an ample amount of meat and a nice crust patty surrounding it. Very very very good. The place has a very nice decor and very clean and the restroom also very clean. A busy restaurant is all I need to see to know that the food is the bomb and I'm glad I came here. Happy eating

Went here for a family birthday dinner. The food was very tasty (I had the steak fajitas). We ordered guacamole too which was well made and served with what I think were in house made tortilla chips. The ambiance in the restaurant was nice and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Even giving my father-in-law and I some hot well made hot sauce for us to try. Will be back to this gem of a place soon.

Nice mexican spot offering a great happy hour mondays through fridays from 4-6 with $7 margarita and other specialty drinks and $6-$7 appetizers, although mostly fried, but with good flavor. As for the rest of the menu, it offers your typical Mexican flare. Their taco tuesdays are nothing spectacular but then again the are the smaller tacos with minimal in terms of content and not my style but their menu otherwise is pretty solid offering flavor, options and specials for the weekend. Rice and beans are decent but not the best I have had but probably the best ones in bethel area. Their nachos are good and the birria nachos are a homerun! Homemade guac is very good and the chips and salsa they greet you with are not your typical in terms of chips as they are on the thicker side and the salsa is very different - more of a puree than a chunky salsa and takes a little getting used to. The bar area is fun and hip and the bartender is super attentive and efficient. Decor is really cute with fun walls and lots of plants and nice mexican art throughout. They have table and booths and can handle large groups. Forgot to mention regular appetizers other than happy hour appetizers are very good!! Nice little find with a nice staff and some great GF options for those who have that dietary obligation.

I loved it. I love Mexican food. And this is as authentic as possible in Ct (although I still favor the taco truck at Home Depot) this can't be beat for gorgeous drinks great service and fun atmosphere. Reasonably priced.

Five Stars all the way! While visiting this part of CT we were torn between Thai or Mexican... we were SO happy we went with Casa Oaxaca!! It was outstanding! Not only was the food authentic and mouthwatering delicious, the service was exceptional and the ambiance was great! The chips and salsa were so fresh and delish. I had the POLLO AL TEQUILA which was Chicken Breast, Mushrooms a la Crema served with Mashed Potatoes. OMG! It was incredible!!!!

Oysters were very good, but the calamari came out cold and was very bland and overpriced. The aesthetics are solid for the establishment, and the entree was decent. We started with a couple of drinks, which were very strong..maybe a little too strong. My sangria didn't taste like sangria at all, and I honestly couldn't tell what was in it. It didn't have any fruit, and I think vodka was added. We ordered the calamari and what was listed as hummus with pita. When it arrived, we noticed the "hummus" was actually spinach and artichoke dip. I had to ask about it since I have an allergy and wanted to make sure a certain ingredient wasn't included. We decided to keep it and I'm glad we did because it was absolutely delicious!! The calamari was just as good, if not better. Both appetizers were fantastic. For our entrée, we ordered the rigatoni to share. There was a bit of confusion, as our waitress (who was also the bartender) thought we wanted it packed to go, when we actually planned to eat it and then take the rest home. She quickly fixed it in the kitchen, so really no harm done. My only guess is that since we had been sitting with appetizers for quite a while, she may have assumed we were finished eating.. I mean it was a while. The pasta itself was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very good. However, it was topped with microgreens and cilantro which really threw me off! I've never had a pasta dish garnished with cilantro, especially instead of something more traditional like basil...? It felt like a strange choice and was a bit unappetizing for me. Overall, it was a very... odd... first experience. Would I give it another shot? Yes, but I think I'd wait a bit and hope things become more organized. I have to add it is beautiful inside. They have the cutest lights on the table. Appetizers: 10/10 Drinks: 3/10 Entrée: 5/10

This review is going to be a little different, so please read to the end…read more I arrived soon after they opened, and was told that the kitchen wasn't open quite yet, but that the cook was supposed to be in soon. Fine. I was in no particular hurry. I had a drink. Time passed...and passed...etc. Finally, just before I was going to pay for my drinks and leave, apparently the cook arrived, and the very nice lady behind the bar apologetically came to take my order. At this point, it would take even more time to go somewhere else so I ordered what the menu calls a Philly Cheese Steak, with onion rings. The food comes out and its unlike any other "Philly Cheese Steak" I've ever had before. Two things stood out. First, it was served not on a hoagie roll like every other cheesesteak in the world, but on a kaiser roll, so that when you pick it up, of course, everything falls out onto the plate. The second thing was the complete lack of taste. I did not know that meat, cheese, onions, and peppers could be so bland. Now, you might be asking, "After that, how can you give them 4 stars?". Here's why. When the very nice lady behind the bar came to ask how it was, I was honest...it was terrible. There was a man sitting at the bar, who I assume was the owner. She spoke to him and he came over and could not have been nicer. I don't know what issues he's dealing with in the kitchen, but he didn't seem to be surprised. He agreed with what I was saying, apologized profusely, and here's the kicker...he didn't charge me for anything. Not the food, not the drinks, nothing. When I protested and tried to pay for the drinks I would have had anyway, he refused. So...4 stars. I'm going to assume that they're going through a rough patch in the kitchen, but trying hard to fix things, and more than willing to make it right. I hope it works out for them.
