Overcrowded and unfriendly atmosphere from the "staff" got 1 single beer and waited 20+ minutes to close out while my group was harassed by someone claiming to be "security" who was profusely Drunk , singing karaoke, and sitting on a pool table for well over an hour, asked for my name, to which - I refused to give a random stranger so he told me he could have me "86'd" all while my quite group sat a single table waiting for a pool table to open up- because "he didn't like the looks we were giving" would not recommend coming here unless you're alone in the holidays and have no where else to go. Also claiming to be the "bouncer or security" is a class A misdemeanor in Oregon.

The math doesn't add up. The meal should have been 25 dollars at most. They tipped themselves at almost 100%.

Make sure you check your charges after eating here. I ordered two Meals at 11 dollars each. Two sodas.

Sigh. Our attempts at Chinese takeout lately have been pretty miserable. On this day we went to Riteaid and Costco and Trader Joe's and my broken armed teen rejected my sandwich idea because one handed sandwich eating is no fun. Then her dad and I ( he was helping with some things) rejected her sushi or Thai request. Because sometimes we want to eat something else. Chinese, she said. Because dumplings. We called in food to Wan Q. The lady on the phone was brisk. 20 minutes she said. We were there 25 min later. It was not all ready. It was loaded into the bag as it came out of the kitchen. The bottom item leaked everywhere. The carton was sticky and falling apart. For $44 we got: 1) Broccoli chicken. Mushy broccoli, ok carrots, mushy wet slimy chicken. Kid threw it out. Ate the white rice with a packet of soy sauce. 2) Pork chow mein with pan fried noodle. I think I probably should have said lo mein. It was gross. Several varieties of soggy pork bits, wet bean sprouts, celery and water chestnuts which I do not like in a gravy that tasted awful with two mushrooms packaged separately from some greasy cold noodles. It had some green onions on top to try to pretty it up. Just no man. It reminded me of that canned chow mein stuff from the 60s. I ate 2 bites. Nope. 3) A small egg flower soup. Gelatinous with mushroom bits. My kid dumped that too. 4)8 oily potstickers. They were out of the freezer fine, nicely browned on one side. Came on top of cabbage with dipping sauce. 1 star for these. But we could have made them ourselves. 5) the ex got bbq pork with broccoli. He said it was ok. He took it back to his house so I cannot verify this. He did say the broccoli was soft. Since we only got one small rice, he gave that to the teen and ate his with Trader Joe's brown rice that he keeps in his freezer. Second star is for ex's food and getting the items correct. But bah!. $44 down the tube. We have had takeout from Wan Q before and it was better. It has either gone downhill, Sunday at 2 is a bad time to order, or the other two times were a lucky fluke? I don't know. We should have had the sandwiches. I mean the teen could have diced hers up and eaten with a fork, right? Ugh.

Why are there no pictures of the bar?

Sounds like you have an issue with wan Q DANIEL. The bar is very acceptable and has a place for karaoke and a pool table. Someone has heartburn with wan q and is having people swamp Yelp with bad reviews. That is very tacky?

I've worked through most of the menu, and every single dish lands. I kept expecting at least one to miss, but it never did. I'm not usually a seafood person, but their fish tacos and Ahi Poke nachos completely changed my mind. If seafood always tasted like that, I'd order it every time. The deviled eggs might be my all-time favorite appetizer. The steak bites are perfectly cooked and tender, and the white cheddar onion dip is rich, savory, and hard to stop eating. What really puts it over the top is the experience. The owner is incredibly welcoming, the staff is attentive without hovering, and the whole place has an elevated but relaxed energy. With the live DJ, it feels like the perfect spot for a date night or a fun night out with friends. If you're deciding where to go next, put this at the top of your list. Can't wait to go back!

Because it's somewhat hidden in the corner of a Safeway shopping plaza. Look for the Baskin Robbins or Wells Fargo ATM and your find it. Like other reviews, when busy, parking can be a bit horrendous. But in hindsight, I'm not gonna reduce a star just because of location. * Bar Food Menu & Dining * Their menu starts with shareable bites, like a pretzel, tacos, quesadilla, loaded nachos, and even a charcuterie plate. Slightly larger dishes would be their Cubano and Brisket Press sandwiches. They even have a few choices for soup and salads, and a couple of dessert items listed. Don't forget to check the chalkboard next to the bar for specialty dishes and drinks. As for dining-in, they've got sturdy wooden tables that can accommodate 4-8 people. Bar stools by the windows, and a fairly large outside patio area. And with the times I've been here, I've never seen a dirty table. Very well maintained (two thumbs up). A few TV monitors showing the game, but its not like a noisy sportsbar. * Drinks & Services* You've got your choice of craft beers that rotate like a standard tap room. They also have tasty seasonal cocktails, but their normal everyday cocktails are just as good. And if you're gonna have a charcuterie board, then you've got to offer a wine list option right? Well they got that too! One last thing to mention, they've got some top-shelf bourbon and whiskey. The 649 is a bar that offers it all! Service has also been welcoming and top-notch. I recall only been served by Rich, Steven, and Crystal, but they always seem to craft up some lovely cocktails. Or deliver some clean tasting everyday type of bar food as well. * Last Call * Normally in my reviews, I'd list every item that I've tried, with price included. But The 649 is such a unique type of bar experience that I feel you should try for yourself; To me, their offerings are reasonably priced. Dining in is nothing fancy, but service is excellent. It's a great hangout for a business date, of even after a first date. I've got nothing but love for local support!

I asked how much I'd save on the beer I was contemplating if I waited for 7 minutes, and he said a dollar or two, so I told him I'd wait until then to place my order. It seemed like a pretty light day, yet he took a full 20+ minutes to come take our order -- it felt like he was punishing me. Last night, it was 10:10pm and I asked if there was a HH menu. He said "not yet." I thought he meant that they hadn't yet been published, but when I went to the bar to say hi to someone I know, I saw a HH menu already on the bar. I'd already ordered off the regular menu, and chose to not change to something on the HH hour just to avoid the conflict. I have no idea what is inspiring this behavior. Perhaps people who order off HH menus don't tip well? In any case, this new HH attitude has definitely dampened my enthusiasm for Fireside. Which is sad since it still has a great tap list and menu.

I'll speak to the lounge/bar part here, which also has several different sides. First, the bar is your standard, modern-looking L-shaped counter, a bunch of stools, etc. it's not quite divey -- seems like it's aspiring to greater heights, though the dimly-lit tables and booths on the other side of the room would beg to differ. There are other tables out in the open, near the big window, better lit and with more of a restaurant vibe. It's all good; you got a nice happy hour, and above- average food for any bar or pub (hence the Kitchen) in the vicinity. The bartenders have all been spot-on, attentive but not pushy and a joy at happy hour. And yep, the chow I've had here to date has been resoundingly tasty, with the cod fish tacos (three) served up nicely slathered with lines of crema and paired with lots of avocado slices. Nice. Hummus plate was a winner too, the fresh hummus working against a nice, robust mix of fresh veggies. Plenty of food here. This is from the regular menu, which also sports a lot of familiar entries --- burgers, wraps, salads, fish and chips, even vegetarian options. Im down with this side of the Silver Birch; the actual kitchen/restaurant looks like it's on the other side of building (separate), so I can't speak to that but I would like to try it sometime. In any case, I like the joint better now than what it used to be, which was a Chinese restaurant; it's airier and lighter and has a better menu. There's karaoke, and the game room has plenty of entertainment. Also, it's located right on a roundabout, so getting into the small on-site parking lot can be a bit tricky.

Perhaps some folks from wine country may have made to the Portland metro area. They provided a nice charcuterie platter. The spreadable cheese seemed to be a goat cheese with a very mild flavor, it was slightly earthy and sweet. I know, what a weird combination, but it was super good. Based on the other a cow's milk cheese and had a very mild and forgettable flavor. But it's probably for the best to serve safe flavored cheeses at such parties. The ambiance at the Boundary was really nice for a wine tasting/pickup party. There were overestuffed chairs next to a fire in the fireplace, and plenty of seating around the bar. There was always someone staffing the wine pouring stations. Hopefully other wineries will take note and hold its wine pickup parties close to downtown.
