Posting an update in regards to our previously posted negative feedback... We had a meeting with Walser GMC VP Pete Swenson. Pete took the time to meet with us, hear us out, and empathize with our experience about the service that we received from the service department. But most importantly to us, he apologized on behalf of Walser for the situation, and without any hesitation whatsoever, offered to make it 100% right. As a Walser customer of 10 years, we are relieved and thankful that Pete took the time to meet with us personally and make things right. I would encourage anyone else who either reads or posts negative feedback related to Walser GMC to at least give Pete a chance to make things right before just completely walking away from them. I can tell you from our experience that he was genuine and will not disappoint. We simply believe that we are customers worthy of having; and it was clear to us after meeting with Pete that Walser GMC indeed felt the same. I can honestly say that meeting has turned us from becoming detractors into PROMOTERS of Walser GMC, and given our 10 year history as customers, that truly means a lot to us. Thank you Pete. Absolutely awful! The staff is friendly enough. But could not fix my car. Brought my car with 30k miles (purchased brand new) due to check engine light. After 3 different times of bringing it in they still could not figure out the issue. Would not issue a loaner car and forced me to pay for a rental. Over a week later of paying rental out of pocket. Still could not fix. I've asked repeatedly for details of the work done and received nothing back. Will never return. Will never buy another Buick. WHAT A JOKE read more

We purchased a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4. When we tried out the truck, it was very cold out and the tailgate didnt work. Told probably cuz its so cold out, gave them the benefit of the doubt. Sat in a big cafeteria style room to do the paperwork where everyone can hear what is said and all your personal info. Salesperson had me type in the info on the computer and then do the application. First time that ever happened. The salesperson has always filled in all this. I dont work there. Finally after I had lost the app. 3 times he took over. We were there from 11am until 3:30pm. Longest it has ever taken to purchase a truck. Salesperson kept getting up to "check on something", I dont think he knew what he was doing. When we pulled in, sales guy was just leaving to go pickup the truck from the their toyota dealership down the street. We had called ahead and said when we would be there, so why the truck wasnt already there, talk about unorganized. It took 40 minutes for him to get back. So there we sat waiting. We thought it awful strange it took so long. Now we think we know why. Took the truck home. Truck sat in our heated garage all day the next day. The second day we had it, going to run some errands, and the truck wouldn't start, couldn't even get into the truck. Long story short, my husband did some research on the tailgates, it had drained the battery. This is a step down tailgate. After calling a service tech at Walser who didnt know what could be the problem!! Wow!! The sales manager told us to buy a new battery and he would reimburse us. and we told him at this point we were bringing back the truck. It took Walser a month to pay off the loan and to reimburse us for the battery. They wouldn't return some of our calls throughout the whole process, and at one point we were ready to get a lawyer. I will never deal with this dealership again!! Ever!! The whole experience was such a shit show! Very unorganized! Very unprofessional! They knew exactly what they were hiding from us on that truck. So beware of used vehicles at Walser dealerships. BTW, the truck is still on the lot for sale. Beware! Its volcanic red, jet black with kalahari accents. Unless they fixed the tailgate now. They want you to buy the extended warranty.. that way when you have the problem with the tailgate, you bring it in to them and they will get paid to fix it. Walser is a joke! read more

I'm a 59 YO Disappointed Customer. Walser Buick GMC performed a pre-purchase inspection on our Buick Encore in August 2019 before we bought our car. Since then, we have not missed a preventative maintenance service visit since Walser's pre-purchase report stated we were buying a car that had been well maintained and there were no issues to prevent us from buying the Encore. June 2023: Our Encore hit 60,000 miles and we brought our car to Walser - as we always have - for the scheduled maintenance. I checked in the car for service with Morgan and asked her if the mechanic could find out what was causing a ticking sound coming from the engine; and if that was normal. We picked up our Encore a couple days later and the technician/mechanic could not detect a ticking sound after tightening of the timing belt. While driving home, we heard the ticking again. We returned the car to Walser. This time the technician could not determine where the ticking was coming from, and Walser would need to keep our Encore for a couple nights to complete an "engine hot" and an "engine cold" test .... Which was recommended by General Motors HQ. Morgan explained that this was a powertrain issue, and the repairs would be covered under the GM warranty. Two days later, we picked up our car again and we didn't make it home due to the engine light coming on and oil was free flowing on the ground from the engine. Frantically, we called Morgan and she had towing service return our Encore to Walser. There it goes, back into the Walser Service Center to stop the oil leak and figure out why the "Check Engine" light was on. We still didn't know if the ticking issue was found/repaired. Two days later ... Hooray! Walser fixed the massive oil leak, and we picked up our car .... once again. We were not sure if the ticking sound was fixed because the check engine light came back on in the Walser parking lot as my wife was attempting to drive the car back home. So, into the garage our little Encore goes on Wednesday, June 22nd. Tuesday, June 27, 2023: (today) I received a voicemail @ 5.12 PM from Morgan letting me know that our car was fixed. The ticking sound was gone and fully covered by warranty. Unfortunately, Morgan then stated: Today, the technician noticed coolant leaking from the water pump area; which is not covered by the powertrain and I will have to pay $893. Weird, or what? Why was this water pump issue never discovered by the technician earlier this month? On a brighter note, Walser did provide us with a beautiful Buick Envision as a loaner car during this whole ordeal. However, we find ourselves asking ... "Wha' Happened?" We fell totally in love with the loaner car. Do you think we will be buying that Buick Envision from Walser. .... "I don't think so." Photos avaialbe upon request. read more

Buying a car is easy; getting service has been very difficult the last few years, due to corporate policies. In the past, this dealership had terrific Customer Service Managers to handle scheduling, insurance claims, etc. However, several years ago (pre Covid), they eliminated the position and decided that every customer would have an assigned technician who would be responsible for scheduling, repair, communication, insurance, and payment. They neglected to notify previous customers. Phone calls and emails were not answered. Needless to say, this policy was an epic disaster! On Monday we took our car in for a major repair. Nathan, a fairly new Customer Service agent, was very responsive, informing us a part had to be ordered and would need the car overnight, to be completed on Tuesday. On Tuesday, we waited all day for a call or text. Nothing. We called. No answer. On Wednesday, we discovered Nathan took the day off. No text. No call or email explaining the delay. On Wednesday, we called and reached a service manager, who looked up the ticket and asked the tech when the repair would be completed. Nathan dropped the ball. "What we have here is a failure to communicate." It's common sense to let a customer know about any problems or delays-before you take a day off. I also fault the company for inadequate training and lack of oversight. No wonder people are buying cars online. Might as well...customer service doesn't appear to be a mission any longer. read more

We recently (as in late Novemeber 2019) bought a GMC Acadia from Walser with 32,000 miles on it. Fast forward less than 6 months and less than 4000 miles later, and the AC won't work (according them it will be a $2500 fix), it needs new breaks and new rotors. Will they fix it? Nope. Their Walser aftercare seems to be a gimic more than an actual helpful tool. So disappointing. Update as of 6/17: The general manager said they will take care of the break because they must have been missed in the original inspection, but cant cover the AC unit (though id argue if the BREAKS were missed, the AC was also missed). I'm now working with GMC directly on the AC motor. Update as of 6/23: they fixed my breaks today. Apparently they "missed" them in the inspection. After talking to GM of this establishment, I realize they don't really stand behind their products or their warranties. Aka I'm still a minimum $1300 out of pocket to fix something that they "could have missed" according to the gm. And then he blames me for not getting the extended warranty. Have I mentioned that we haven't even done an oil change on this car yet?? And it already needed new breaks/ rotors AND an AC system. GMC said they would take 20% off to make it a $1300 fix and not the originally quoted number. Neat. I need to say that overall I'm disappointed that people don't stand behind their products. I guess I'm weird where customer comes first. I get it. Its a machine. It will need fixing. But not less than 4000 miles in and not when I don't drive it outside my burb. Now I feel like we just got screwed and need to look into lemon law. read more

*Service review* I have a brand new Terrain I've brought in SEVEN times with issues in the 6 months of owning it. I did not buy from Walser, but they've talked down to me and dropped the ball every single time I've brought it in. In July I came back from a 5 day vacation and my car didn't start. Once I jumped it and brought it in, the service guy told me I can't leave my car for that long. It's brand new! I even said that's BS and he brushed me to the side and shrugged. I then spoke to the service manager who said "No no it can sit for weeks that wasn't the problem." They chalked it up to some shorted cell and sent me on my way. 3 weeks later it died again. THEN they finally put a new battery in, but had the audacity to try and blame me for "leaving the headlights on" when 1. I leave them on Auto 2. they turn off after a minute once the car is off no matter what. Ahhhh 4 months later and my car died again. I called Walser to see when they could take a look at it and they said it'd be 3 days and they were not going to provide a loaner or rental vehicle (which warranty would pay for) they said I would have to pay $40/day. Didn't make that mistake and took it to a different GM dealer. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. FIND A DIFFERENT GM DEALER. read more

**TEST DRIVE REVIEW** When we walked through the entrance doors, Mike Bodin greeted us with the biggest smile and welcomed us to the dealership. Whoa. Just from that opening, it was 100000 times better than the experience we had at Motorwerks BMW. He asked how he could help us and quickly found us a sales person to assist us. Garrett helped us find a Yukon to drive and to show us available features. We are waiting for the 2020's to be released before purchasing a vehicle. He was knowledgeable on the vehicles and was very friendly. This is the type of customer service that high end dealerships should model after. If we end up in a Yukon, great! Things went fine prior to purchase. However after purchase I started having issues with the navigation system. I'd get routed to dead ends or routed to older roads. When I reached out to the salesman he confirmed I had the latest version for the 2018 model. After my own research I discovered that the car's software was the 2017 version released in 2016. When asked about getting this remedied I was told that it's the customer's responsibility to update the software. Even though I was originally told I had the latest version! The salesman said the dealer nor the manufacturer but rather a third-party installs the software. I was directed to a GM link (not 3rd party) where I can pay $150 for something that should've been there before I purchased the vehicle. If you choose to buy a car here make sure to get a discount so you can purchase and install the navigation software yourself. A 2018 car purchased in March 2018 should not be running software that was released in August 2016 when a newer version was released 8 months prior. I really want to like this dealership, but the salesman's response to this concern was inconsistent and quite off putting in the end. read more

I've had to replace the brake booster/master cylinder, rotors, pads, ECM, rear engine seal, flex plate, front right CV axle, front left wheel bearing, the differentials and transfer case...don't make the mistake of buying a used car from walser and never buy an Acadia. read more

We had a scheduled oil change on our 2015 Terrain. We bought this 3 months ago from Walser Bloomington. The two driver side tires had slow leaks since we bought it. Thetech identified nails as the cause and removed them at $50/each which was irritating since our previous car and 2nd car have not had any nail problems. The service tech then tried to sell me on many additional services which I politely declined for the next 10 minutes. I've had the car 3 months and when we bought it Walser stated it was a GMC Certified used car. If all the checks and claims that go with the 'Certified' used cars were actually done by Walser then we really shouldn't have needed anything at this time. The vehicle only has 22,000 miles on it. I had the kids with me(2yrs and 2 months). The Walser team took over 2 hours to complete an oil change and patch 2 nails in the tires. This is a ridiculous amount of time for a scheduled oil change and 2 nail patches. I saw the tech finish up and take my car outside. Nobody came to get me for 15 minutes so I went and asked if I could get my car back. I paid and the service tech told me where it was parked outside. It was raining pretty steadily at this time and I had to take the boys out in the rain to get loaded up even though the service department was 75% empty. Overall the performance and attention to the customers needs was very disappointing. I had no idea that an oil change was going to take up half of my day or that I should've brought something to occupy a toddler for 2+ hours. I don't think we will ever go back to this service department. read more

Had a Co signer on the way and they said they would just hold the vehicle til the am until I came back. This was 8:30 pm. Was told the next day they sold the vehicle. STAY AWAY! Dealership loves to play games and is a sham. Tried to buy a vehicle which was to arrive and wanted to reserve it for msrp as I was told I could do. The next day they said that they won't sell it to me because I live out of the state. However, they state on the website that "nationwide delivery is available". I was going to pick it up myself in MN. The reason they declined to sell it is that they got a better offer and made up a reason not to sell it to me. Apparently they'll do anything to make an extra buck including geographical discrimination if you live out of state. read more

Walser Lifetime Warranty is not what it seems... During a routine oil change at Walser GMC I was made aware that I had a warranty failures, leaking oil cooler lines and a leaking axel seal, which had leaked onto my drum shoes, contaminating them to the point they would need to be replaced as well. I was to come back for this repair in a couple weeks, as it would be a 5-6 hour job. I had a 7 am appointment, so I dropped my car off the night before. At about 1pm the day of the appointment I had not heard anything, so I started calling and leaving voicemails, as well as texting back to my service contact number, as directed, if I had any questions. By 3:30 I had still not heard anything, so I tried calling one more time and was able to connect with my service advisor, who told me he had texted me, but it must have not gone through. It was then I was told the work was done, but no one had preauthorized the warranty, so they had been working on getting ahold of someone to approve that. This is when I learned that the drum shoes were not going to be covered, even though it was contingent damage from a warranty failure. This seemed very odd, and needless to say, did not make me happy. The service advisor said he would talk to his service manager as well as the general manager and call me back. When he called back, it was the same story, they do not cover stuff like that and I would have to pay for it. Not only was it extremely difficult to get an update on my vehicles status, no one ever contacted me prior to the repair to let me know I would owe anything, or offer me an opportunity to actually approve that work since it was going to be on my dime. We were told that the general manager would be contacting us within 24-48 hours... it has now been a week to the day, and still no communication from Walser GMC. read more

I'm in shock of the bad reviews on here. I bought my 2015 Enclave just after Christmas in 2014 and have had it serviced there ever since. I have received nothing but fantastic service from the service writers there. Steve, the shuttle guy, has driven me to my office a dozen times over the last 5 years. We live in MN and purchased our 2015 GMC Acadia with 32xxx miles at the end of Nov. We were told it went through a thorough inspection and everything was "like new". After winter come May, we go to use the airconditioning for the first time, no air. We bring it for servicing, not only is the AC shot, but it needs new brakes, rotors, etc. We haven't driven it 5000 miles since purchase! Their response- "Sorry". They want to charge us nearly $2000 for the repairs, almost 10% of the purchase price. Unbelievable.... do not buy from these guys read more

They don't care about their customers, have a 11 o'clock appointment, waiting around with a 3 week baby, call them at 3pm to see what's going on, and my car hasn't been touched. No explanation as to why they are incapable of doing the work I've brought my very expensive truck in to get done on. No apologies, nothing. Why I'm making a review like it will make a difference? Haha idfk. But if you value your time, take your vehicle to-a honest one, hell even a BP service station will provide much better service then this place!! I don't know why I've been going back here for so long, I can't think of one positive interaction with these people. Just bought a new Mazda CX-9 at Walser Buick GMC in Bloomington and had a great experience. I worked with Heidi Welbig and Angela and they were both very helpful and knowledgeable. They were very responsive and available when making appointments. Filling out paperwork and getting loan approval was all relatively quick and painless. The building and the car was clean and well-maintained. Heidi and Angela were both very personable and we enjoyed chatting with them during the buying process. I wish I could comment on the sales or service here but I left before I even went inside for a ridiculous reason: I couldn't find the entrance driveway! I turned at the sidestreet off American Boulevard when I saw the building but it appeared that the first driveway was one-way, based on two stop signs facing the opposite direction (although no sign). I attempted to drive around the block (which was a dead end), so I turned around and drove to the next exit off American Boulevard. No driveway. I turned into the Olive Garden parking lot next door, hoping it connected. It did not. I turned around and went back to the original sidestreet and went to the second driveway behind the building, which appeared to be a service parking area. As I entered, someone in a parked vehicle began honking madly at me, as if I had entered a one-way or restricted area. I drove around the building, unsure where to park to visit the showroom. At that point, I was completely frustrated by the lack of signage, gave up and left. read more

Very disappointed with the ethics here. I purchased a used Kia from Walser GMC back in June 2016. First - quite a few issues with the car: auto locks are funky when it gets cold - the driver's door works fine, but the other doors refused to open - have to be unlocked manually. Alternator went out a year after I purchased it and now there is another problem with battery draining. They talked me into a wrap-around warranty. Sounded great at the time. What they didn't tell me was that the Bloomington location would not be able to service my car and the closest Walser location that could was 30 minutes from my home. So now I have to pay the $100 deductible to take it to a Kia dealer. Buyer beware - always ask lots of questions because they only care about making that sale! read more

Dear Mr. Walser, I have to say, you have thoroughly disappointed me. I brought my Walser purchased vehicle in to be "repaired to industry standards" at your Bloomington Buick GMC service center. When I purchased my Walser vehicle I was ensured my extended warranty, purchased along with the vehicle, would cover everything but routine maintenance; oil changes, brakes, tires, etc... but that turns out to be a false information. Unfortunately, your "professionally trained technicians" sure had the "know-how and experience" to get my vehicle running - albeit at my expense. After the bill was paid and the car brought home, I had my husband's best friend review our service ticket. (Mr. Best Friend works for your competitor, BMW) Not only was I scammed in what was needing service on my vehicle, but my vehicle was returned to me with the gas light on (I dropped it off at almost a full tank!!!). See the problem is, Mr. Walser, with gas knocking down $4 door, that's quite an issue for me. In the car I found a business card from a service location in Brooklyn Park sitting in the center console. Turns out, my vehicle was brought across the city and returned to me on E. The cherry on to was my vehicle being a complete mess when I picked it up. I had to take it to get a car wash (after I filled the tank)... my previous Walser experiences have been a clean vehicle and quality service. I guess this doesn't' apply at your location? Although, the friendliness of your team isn't in question, the honesty and integrity of their work is. I will not return to your service location for my warranty nor service work. I had made an appointment for a Oil Change, Tire Rotation and the Android Update. When I arrived at the dealership for my appointment, I was informed that the update could take up to 2 hours. I said if that is how long it was going to take I would have to bring it back. Brie told me she would check on timing and get back to me. She came back and said it would be about 45 minutes to an hour. I said okay great! An hour and a half later she cam back to tell me it was done. I asked her how the Android update could go from taking 2 hours to less than an hour. She replied, we didn't do the update, you said you wanted to come back for that. Obviously she should have been more clear as to what she was referring to. She mentioned several times they were short staffed. I don't understand how that should affect my appointment as they should only be booking appointments for what they can actually fulfill. I am baffled how it could take an hour and a half for a oil change and tire rotation. I rescheduled an appointment for the Android Update and to have them look at the wireless charging that was not working. I will wait for the next survey to tell you about that horrific appointment. I am not able to complete the survey without giving at least one star, so that is the only reason there is one star up there. It would have otherwise been a a BIG ZERO! read more

I have an old Saturn Vue and it has needed some work recently...a new clutch after 170K miles...and a few other things that just breakdown on an old car. I'm very satisfied with the work Walser did and I'm hoping for another 170K miles. They also have a very convenient shuttle if you need to leave the car. read more

The service manager who assisted me was extremely professional and consultative. That said, it was an incredibly expensive service (about 1/4 the blue book value of my vehicle). I was charged 'per diagnostic' which I understand is protocol but also meant that I was into it for nearly $500 before any repairs began. Last, because the service was so expensive, I asked that a non-essential repair was skipped - which it was - and that the corresponding dash alert was turned off - which it wasn't. Very disappointing. Isn't there more than a free car wash you can offer when a customer spends over $3,500 for less than a full day's work? How about a free oil change or vacuum the interior and wipe down the dash with the wash? Despite the service manager's good effort, I felt like I'd been ripped off. read more

I was impressed with the speed and courtesy of my representative, Brie, and the technician who checked out my vehicle. In addition, I anticipated having to replace a Transfer Case Control Module and was pleasantly surprised when the module only needed to be reprogrammed. I appreciate the honesty and integrity of the technician and dealership as whole. I firmly believe other shops would have told me I needed a new module, replaced the old one, and charged me 4x more than Walser. I will definitely return to the shop and consider a Walser dealer for my next car purchase. I have already recommended the Walser GMC Buick location to several friends. read more

We got a free rental (Buick Encore which we loved and will consider as our next new car purchase) and the work was completed when promised as a part was needed to be ordered. Although my vehicle was not purchased at Walser, you were willing to help resolve my issues (recalls and warranty issues) and treat me like a long-time customer. In fact, when it was found that the issue with my power steering was no longer covered under warranty due to it expiring two days earlier, you took the extra step to contact GMC to get a good-faith warranty extension -- my issue was resolved at no cost to me. I recently bought a used car from Walser Buick GMC Bloomington after being referred there by a co-worker. The buying experience was great, easy, quick, and seamless. On the way home, I noticed a rattling noise that seemed to get louder as the vehicle increased in speed. I figured I'd would take it back and have them check it out just to be sure. Here is where my problems started....When calling to set up an appointment, I was told that we wouldn't be able to get the vehicle in for over a week. Now, knowing that this rattling was not drive impacting, albeit annoying, I obliged and scheduled a diagnostic appointment for the following Saturday. Over the next week I noticed that there were a few other items that were not working properly on the vehicle such as the back-window sprayer and the rear driver door passive lock/unlock. I called and had those added to the appointment and they said it would be no problem. We arrived and the service manager stated that it would be about 2 hours. 3 hours later, we were called, and the car was done! Awesome! But upon our return, they indicated that the roads were too icy to test drive the vehicle for the rattle, and that the door handle had ice in it which is why it was not working. They did fix the sprayer, were going to charge us $80, then the service manager remembered that we had just purchased the vehicle and waived the charges. He quickly set up an appointment for early Monday morning to have the car back in for the rattling. When I explained the door handle had always worked fine to open and close the door, it was the passive lock/unlock, he had to walk out to the car with me to see what I was talking about. After recognizing that the passive lock and unlock didn't work, he added it to the Monday appointment. Arriving back on Monday, I elected to wait for my vehicle as the new service manager told me that the assessment and fix should only take about two hours. I waited in the lobby for over 3 hours before going out to ask what was going on with my vehicle. The service manager stated that they needed to order a whole new door handle and because it started to snow, they would not be able to test the rattling sound but could add it to the appointment when the door handle came in. It took an additional hour after that to return my vehicle to me. Later that week as a waited for a call about the door handle, I noticed that there was what seemed to be a draft coming from the back seat. This particular vehicle has rear climate control and heated seats, so I was perplexed on why such cold air was coming from back there. I proceeded to enter the back seat to see if it was the sun roof or doors; turns out the rear climate control only blows ice cold air. I immediately set up an appointment online for the heat and added the rattling as this had still not been diagnosed or assessed. I also called the next day to verify the appointment which was verified by the service department. I brought the vehicle in on Friday, January 3rd, for the third time hoping the vehicle that I just purchased would finally be fixed. I had requested a rental a head of time which they did not have ready for me when I arrived. I waited for almost 45 minutes before they brought me out to go through the rental car policies with me. The service manager stated that they would try and get it wrapped up by end of business on Saturday but there was no guarantee. After several days of not hearing anything, we called back on Tuesday. We were told that the part for the door had come in and was already replaced. The part of the HVAC had also come in, but the technician was out sick. I guess they only have one technician for the whole company that can work on this and this is the same technician that needed to assess the rattling, that had still not been done. We received a call on Wednesday letting us know that the technician was back and that we needed to come in and test drive the vehicle with him to replicate the rattling noise. Wednesday afternoon we were able to get to Walser and do the test drive and replicate the rattling. The technician told us that the HVAC was about an 8 hour or full day job so we should not expect the car back until earliest Thursday at the end of the day. We waited until today, Friday, to check on the vehicle and the service manager told us that the technician wasn't going to be able to finish the job until Monday or later. Walser has now had my $30,000 new purchase for a total of 10 days out of 21 days of ownership. That is almost more than I have had it since buying it and by the time it is done next week, they will have had it longer than I have. Not once has there been an apology, not once has there been any effort to move with a sense of urgency. Not once has anyone thanked me for my patience. Not once has anyone called to provide updates. This has been the worst experience with trying to get a vehicle fixed. read more
