My experience finalizing my vehicle purchase with Bill Long was disappointing and did not reflect the level of professionalism I expect from a dealership. Bill was not well-informed about the work completed on the vehicle and was unable to clearly answer several of my questions. He also would not incorporate the cost of a second key into the purchase price -- something that should be standard in any vehicle sale. After I completed financing, there was minimal follow-up. Bill later texted that he had intended to come outside to congratulate me, but that did not occur. The dealership was not busy at the time. I also drove off the lot with less than a quarter tank of gas, which suggested a lack of attention to basic details. The rental car company was located just five minutes from the dealership. Rather than driving me there to return it at the time of purchase, Bill instructed me to leave it in Acura's lot with the keys at the front desk, assuring me the rental company would retrieve it the next day. That representation was incorrect. I had to take additional time off work to return to the dealership, and only then was I driven to the rental location -- which is what should have been arranged from the outset. For the second key, I was told the technician is available only during a two-hour window on Friday mornings and that the process would take 15-20 minutes. I was first in line when I arrived, yet the technician had not arrived, and I ultimately waited over an hour -- significantly longer than stated. Collectively, these issues point to a lack of preparation, coordination, and accountability. While I had an excellent experience working with Ilena Garcia, my final interactions with Bill diminished my overall confidence in the dealership's customer service standards. I should have known better as the car I bought failed with an engine light that came on just a few minutes after driving off the Bloomington Acura lot! After that issue was resolved I subsequently had other quality control problems with the vehicle, such as interior console popping out of its housing, weird noises while driving, etc. And just the other day I learned there's a RECALL on the vehicle but it cannot be serviced because they don't have the parts!! When I suggested to my salesperson that I might have a "lemon" on my hands, she told me to take it to service and not to bother her with my concerns! A disappointing person.... IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD. My Dad came here on the 26th to check out a car. The car was meant for my mom and he came with a friend to check it out first. He also put down a deposit to hold the car. Today, the 28th, I came with my parents. My mom took a look at the car and we knew it was rusting around various places. The sales person we were supposed to talk to was Jared Oxborough. We were told he would be waiting for us but didn't meet him until 30 minutes later. When we got the time to chat with him after he came to meet us, we told him the car had rust and he literally told us it was rail dusts not rust and can be easily buffed out. I then told him the car was for my mom and my dad came the other day without her. Upon seeing the car and the various rusted parts she disliked it so we're probably changing our mind. The moment I said those words he frowned at us and suddenly his tone of voice changed and asked, "Why? Do you know I held it for two days? I had many people inquiring about it! Do you know how frustrating this is? Why would I hold it if you're not going to buy it?!" I apologized multiple times and said I understand but it simply wasn't to our expectations for a 2017 and he asked us what we expected of a used 2017 car. He then said he'll be back since he needs to talk with someone. Didn't bother to mention our refund regarding the deposit or anything. He just disappeared after that and went to help someone else. He brought the other customer into his cube and left us in the lobby to which he would constantly glance over at us. He would also constantly walk back and forth in front of us but not speak or look at us. As a first time customer, that was a rude first impression, never had I encounter such a rude salesperson. I got fed up with his childish attitude - my 4 year old daughter acts like this - so I left to the front desk and talked to the Lady up at the front about the issue. Honestly, the manager was such a fresh breath of air. I forgot his name, but he was so understanding, even said that the "rail dusts" were indeed rusts, and said it's okay if we didn't want the car he'll just give us our refund back. Told him I was looking for a new MDX Type S in a specific color but would be open to a few others, provided those colors and said I'd also be open to those. I needed some license plate parts for my girlfriend's car in a hurry (someone stole hers while parked on the street). I called and spoke with Bruce in Service who went above in beyond! Not only did he have the front plate bracket I needed but he also included mounting screws and an idea for improvising the rear plate mounting to hold me over until I could get the correct part the following day. Bruce and Bloomington Acura solved my immediate need at a very reasonable price and with a level of customer service rarely seen these days. During the past 25 years I have bought five Subarus from Bloomington Acura Subaru. I have used this dealership exclusively for maintenance and repairs. I have been very pleased with my experiences. Buying and maintaining an automobile is often a stressful experience. A car is a major purchase and repairs can often be more expensive than expected so I can understand why people are often unhappy with auto dealers. I have been generally pleased with my experience purchasing vehicles from this dealership. None of the sales representatives have been obnoxious and I do my research so when I go in to buy a car I know what I want and have a pretty good idea what it should cost which really helps in the sales process. I have had all maintenance and repairs done by this dealership and have never had a problem. I used to do most of my routine maintenance and many repairs myself so I am fairly knowledgeable; however, modern cars require special equipment for maintenance and the crowded space under the hood makes it very difficult for the "shade tree" mechanic. Furthermore crawling under a car to change the oil isn't much fun. A dealership often costs more than an independent mechanic but if you use the dealership you have a record that you have done the required maintenance if something major goes wrong plus they have a great deal of experience with your brand of car. Bloomington Acura Subaru has recently upgraded their service facility. They have a very courteous staff who greet you and take charge of your vehicle when you arrive. They hav a comfortable waiting area and the service representative keeps you updated on what is going on. On my most recent visit they texted me a short video showing me the inspection they did on my Outback including showing me that I needed new rear brake pads. I thought this was pretty cool. Although I have had some occasional glitches I am generally very happy with Bloomington Acura Subaru and recommend them. By the way we have been happy with our Subarus. The all wheel drive is great for Minnesota and the quality of the vehicles has been very good. read more

They have a no haggle policy but I was able to add the extended warranty with oil change for about 50% of what they originally offered. That was cheaper than the oil changes alone. When we picked up our shiny new car, the sales person had programmed in the Sirius XM station that was our favorite. Steve went above and beyond in finding me the car in the color and style I wanted, doing a dealer trade. BEWARE of buying used cars from this dealership. When I showed up to view a used vehicle that was in my price range I was met with a lot of back and forth from the used sales person Amy. After agreeing to a set price for the car that was well outside its KBB value range (far more expensive than it should have been) I brought the car to a local Bobby and Steve's auto shop for a generic used car inspection. At Bobby and Steve's they gave me a total list of repairs which came out to 650 dollars that would needed to be done to this vehicle in the next few months at bare minimum. Upon returning to the dealership, I showed them the report and Amy immediately dismissed it saying there was no way the car needed these repairs and was going to have her mechanics look at it. The Bloomington Subaru Mechanics returned to me with images claiming that Bobby and Steve's auto shop purposely sabotaged their vehicle, damaging it and poking screw driver size holes in the left axel. Something I found to be incredibly odd as Bobby and Steve's were fully aware that I was bringing this car right back to the dealership and would not be the ones to repair the vehicle or see any money from the car. After putting on a show and flashing the images of the "sabotage" in my face, Amy reneged on our deal increasing the price of the vehicle by 400 dollars to account for the sabotage. Needless to say I got out of there as quickly as possible. I had my '15 Outback brought the Bloomington Subaru Service Dept. on Monday. When I brought the car in, i spoke with a Service Advisor who quoted me ~$60 for the oil change and then ~$150 the transmission service. I also had an issue with the parking break that he told me was a warranty issue, so they'd fix that too. All told, the total price was right around ~$210 +tax. Here's the issue. I was told by a different Service Advisor two days later that the original quote was inaccurate and that I'd need to pay ~$100+ more for the transmission service. I was given the rationale that there was more labor and more fluid needed in my CVT transmission...which is fine, i'm not opposed to paying a business for the work it does. What i find odd is that without hesitation I was told sorry for the mistake but there was nothing that could be done, the original quote was wrong and this was the new price. We've had Subaru's since 1980 and this is the first time a dealership didn't own their mistake...with a number of dealerships in the TC's, makes me think they might not want my business. read more

We had a terrible experience at Bloomington Acura Subaru. We would give zero or negative stars if Yelp allowed it. We have been shopping for a new car for a couple weeks to replace our aging VW. We were finally at a point where we had narrowed it down, and we knew exactly what we wanted. Walked into the Bloomington Subaru and met with Shirl Lee, an older lady who we got the feeling has been in the business quite a while. We sat down with Shirl and told her the exact make, model, and trim level we wanted to test drive. I also had a coupon for a $65 Visa card for test driving a new Subaru at their dealership. She made a big deal about it, said she had never seen one like it, and said that her manager would have to look at it and decide if it was legit. I told her I had just gotten it off of their website, so how had she never seen it before? Not a good start. But wait, it gets worse! Since time is of the essence when you're shopping for cars (we don't have weekdays off, dealerships are closed Sundays, and you can maybe get to three dealers on a Saturday), We asked her to print out the price sheet for the car we were driving while we were on our test drive. She sarcastically said "Ok, but how will I do that when I don't have a printer in the car?" And I said oh, you're going with us? And she said well yeah I always do. And I said OK, you can come with us and tell us all about the car. We start driving the car, and she really doesn't have much to say about it. We knew more about the car than she did! She said it was a 2.5 L engine with 165 hp. which we knew already, since that's what we had asked to drive. She was silent most of the drive, so I prodded her to tell us what was great about the trim level we were driving versus the one just below. She really wasn't able to say much more about it. I remarked that this particular car seemed to have a lot more power and acceleration than the previous same car we had driven at a different dealership. She had nothing to say about that. We had no idea why she insisted on coming with us. So we got back to the dealership, and we're checking out the trunk of the car, and my husband noticed what it said on the back of the car. "3.6". He said "Oh, we weren't driving a 2.5. We were driving a 3.6!" And Cheryl smiled and said "Oh! Oops!" And I said, "Goddamnit! THAT'S why it had so much more power!" And we both stared at Shirl, who then blamed it on the guy who handed her the keys. Are you kidding me? How stupid do we look? My husband looked right at her and said, "Did you puppy dog us?" Which she just glossed over and blamed it on "The guy who went to get the keys". At this point, we are livid over the 45 minutes of our time that has been wasted, not to mention having really loved driving a vehicle that is out of our price range and gets way shittier gas mileage. AND Shirl did not even apologize!! She just asked if we wanted to drive the original car we asked for. So we agreed to do that. We should have just walked out right then. Anyway, I expected her to AT LEAST have the price sheet printed out LIKE I ASKED FOR with all of the options listed and everything, by the time we got back. Surpirse! She had not done any of that. As a matter fact, once we sat down with her, she refused to print anything out at all! She told us some numbers, hemmed and hawed about telling us whether or not we would pay more if we went with the 0% financing, showed us some items on her screen, and pulled out a pricing sheet from her binder (which we had already gotten from another dealer), but would NOT make copies or even let us take a photo. How shady is that? She said "Oh no we don't do that". Which I thought was strange since I had just come from Morrie's Subaru, where they had no problem printing out an actual invoice for us and circling our end price. Who would you rather deal with, someone who is upfront about their price and confident enough to let you leave with it? If you can't send me off with something written down to compare to other dealerships, you are never going to get my business, even if you were really nice and didn't try to puppy dog us with an upgraded vehicle we never asked for. Steer clear of the Bloomington Subaru dealership, and especially Shirl Lee! When I went to talk to the manager about the situation, he literally said nothing. He just stared at me like "why are you telling me this?" So I got the feeling it is a common tactic there. Next, Subaru (the corporation) will be hearing from me, because although we had originally been completely charmed by everything we had researched about the company and the cars (we had literally all but bought a new Subaru!), as a result of this and our combined experiences with the local Subaru dealerships, we have been soured on the whole company at this point, and are planning on buying another used VW!! read more

We have had the car for a total of 20 days, and it has been in the "shop" for a total of 12 days. This is UNACCEPTABLE. Driving it with the sales guy was interesting, he had no clue about SAABs and told me he didn't. Really gained my confidence, buddy. He was bumbly and not professional, it was like he was second guessing everything he was saying and doing, almost weaselly. But what did I know, I was young and naive. The sales people at this location are real d-bags. They look down on you and treat you like crap, probably because I was buying a used car. When I brought my parent's older car in to trade it with the deal, the manager came out and accused me of trying to pull a fast one on them, saying my car was a junked title. He was rude and inconsiderate and wouldn't listen to me as I tried to tell him there must be a mistake because the car was never junked. He finally gave in and reran the record, and what do you know? It came up clean, it was the dealership's mess-up of information. He didn't even apologize to me about the incident. The loan manager was a complete d-bag too, he was too busy to walk me through the buying process (since I was completely new to all of this) and basically told me to sign if I wanted the car or just walk out. Like I said, I was young and naive. If I would have experienced that kind of service now I would have walked right out the door and never bought the car. Oh and by the way, the car was a mechanical lemon. I got a letter in the mail a year later asking me to invite my friends to the dealership to give them more customers, letter went right in the trash. So if you are a bro who likes to be a d-bag and hang out with others like you, you like "free" stuff (your paying for it in the car's price), or just like being treated rudely, this place is a five star for sure. I just don't get how the ratings aren't higher for this place. That being said, we have never bought a car here but have taken several vehicles here for service. Heck, I wish I could take the car I drive here! The techs here are knowledgeable, approachable, and FAIR! We have never been over-charged, in fact they did some work for free due to an earlier error that wasn't even their fault! Right now I am waiting here for a recall repair. The recall is so large that they have been working Sundays for months trying to catch up with the need. It seems Sunday's are only for this issue. Do Not Buy a Car Here! I purchased a 2010 Subaru Forester in October of 2020 for $9,000. Salesperson was nice. In July of 2021, the vehicle died on the highway. It had burned up all the oil. It was not due for an oil change for another 1,000 miles and the oil light never came on. Mechanic informed me the fix might exceed $4,000. They told me it was in great shape, and it looked like it on the outside, but I found out later it's completely rusted underneath and will not pass inspection now. I should have gotten this car looked at by an independent mechanic before I bought it, and that's my mistake, but they never should have sold this car to me as in "great condition with no issues". I was coming from out of state to purchase a car, Willis Burks asked me for a $500 deposit from a phone number not associated with the dealership I contacted, in order for the car to be placed on hold, refused to agree to a deposit without an interest rate for obvious reasons. After reluctantly agreeing to a hard credit inquiry with the verbal and text promise that the salesman would do "whatever it takes" to get me approved for the specific vehicle I was applying for. I was approved for the vehicle with the condition of a 1/3 down payment, funds I had to take a high interest loan out in order to obtain. Before purchasing my flight I spoke to Willis Burks on the phone again to confirm the interest rate attached to the vehicle I had just taken out a high interest down payment loan for, before giving him a deposit. Willis mentioned that he had to "crunch numbers" and as he wasnt at work he would call me as soon as he arrived at work at a certain time, give me my interest rate, and take my deposit; also verbally ASSURING me that I was clear to purchase one way plane ticket from Denver to Minnessota. I first scrambled to rearrange my staff and sacrificed my income in order to make time for a flight to Minessota to get my new car. Willis did not call me when he had promised and in fact ignored multiple of my calls in an attempt to secure a deposit for the vehicle and get an interest rate offer on paper. Willis eventually calls me back apologizing that was late to work and in turn someone had called 30 minutes before he arrived to place a deposit on the same vehicle I was interested in. BECAUSE HE WAS LATE! In true car salesman fashion, Willis offered me other cars I might be interested in (basic way to get rid of stagnant unwanted inventory), insinuating that I wanted to fly to another state for just any car on the lot, an attempt to take advantage of my inconvenient and irreversible situation considering the fact that I had to board a flight in a few hours and had already rearranged my entire life for the next two weeks. In the end my credit score has been negatively effected, I wasted $80 on a flight, I am missing out on work hours as I believed I would be in another state. AND THE CAR IS STILL ACTIVELY LISTED AS FOR SALE. When I called to submit a formal complaint and possibly get a $80 refund for my flight AT LEAST, I was forwarded to 3 different people claiming to be a "general manager" and two different "sales managers", as a professional I asked them for their first and last names, none of which were reflected on the websites staff list. STRAIGHT UP DISHONESTY. Finally from this staff list I was able to reach the general manager Charlie Rassouli @ charlie.rassouli@bloomingtonacurasubaru.com who offered me an apology for my inconvenience but as he has over 30 employees to manage, these inventory issues are just bound to happen and theres nothing he can do about it. Completely deflecting accountability and not offering any type of solution. I would recommend adding to your management team if you're overwhelmed or respectfully resign so the company can find a competent replacement. I've been in this situation before, luckily I recorded EVERYTHING. Everything will be forwarded to the FTC as I suspect this a sales tactic to secure higher interest rates and/or sell unwanted inventory by having me invest time, money, and a hard inquiry on my credit score. Downright malpractice. the Staff at Bloomington Acura and Subaru have proven to be incompetent, dishonest, and a quick look at their social media will prove that wearing a mask here is very optional for some staff and customers; meaning someone infected with covid 19 could've just left before you arrived, hopefully they sanitize after every visit. I bought a used Audi from Bloomington Acura Subaru, and although it checked out well on the day of purchase, one day later there was an alarming message: "low oil pressure, turn off engine." I took it back to Bloomington Acura and they were adamant that they would fix it. To be clear, they had no legal obligation. A used car sold "as is" is just that. A few days later they returned the car to me. Two days afterwards the problem reoccurred. Nobody was happy. Again they took it back for repair, and this time the problem was solved at no expense to me. I could not be more impressed with Mike (and Tony) who made these ethical decisions to put things right. Wow, I'm not sure why this dealership doesn't have higher reviews! We took our '18 Subaru WRX in today for regular service and oil change today. It's a Saturday, and we got right in. Leo checked us in and kept us up to date. He is always there and super friendly and helpful. The lobby has complimentary snacks and beverages while you wait. Every time we have had our car serviced here, it's been a seamless experience. When we orignally leased our car, the salesman (we believe his name is Adam) was easy to work with, and worked to get us a deal that met our budget. This isn't your usual dealership - service is top notch and there's no hidden agendas. Between my husband and I, we've purchased several cars individually before we got married. My review is solely on the used car department. We came here to look at a forester they had. I called a head and made sure we would be able to see it. We arrived and came to the front desk, we were rudely redirected down the hall to used vehicles.. If you aren't going to buy new they aren't very friendly up front. We made our way to the used vehicle department and no one paid us any attention whatsoever. Finally a very nice lady walked in from outside and came to the rescue. Luz is amazing and super friendly. So we told her about the forester and she goes to get the key to look at it. Our conversation was over heard by Kyle (complete a-hole!) who says "I'm working on selling it!" So he has a nice couple at his desk and Luz asks nicely is she can show it just in case..the couple weren't sure if they wanted it yet. He gives us this irritated look at says "They can LOOK at it, but can't drive it." Then throws the key to her. Luz looked horrified that he was so incredibly rude. We go out and look at the vehicle, whole we are talking to her and sitting IN the vehicle, Kyle comes out and bangs on the car and tells us it's sold and we need to get out of it. Wtf? Seriously? It came off so incredibly rude and disgusting. Luz apologized profusely for his rude behavior and looked appalled. We go back inside to look through the list of other vehicles she has, she was super informative and friendly. Unfortunately there were no other vehicles in that caught our eye. Next day we receive an email from Kyle, who we did not give our info, informing us he may have a forester for is and to stop by. I called in and apparently Luz no longer works there!?! So disappointing, I hope for her sake she goes to a better dealership. So we go in to see the forester and it isn't even there yet, won't be for another 3-4 days. Kyle wasn't in, and the two sales people working were so rude and clearly didn't feel like selling us a vehicle. I can honestly say that this place could have the deal of the century and I wouldn't come back. Completely disgusted at their employees! read more

BE VERY WEARY OF DEALING HERE WITH YOUR TRADE-IN. We were negotiating with Bloomington Acura and they contacted the Bloomington BMW dealership to get an estimate on our trade in without our knowledge after we discussed that we were possibly going to visit the BMW dealership to look at a deal with them. They did this before we had an opportunity to go there and low and behold BMW gave us the exact same offer for our vehicle. Our salesman had even said that the trade-in manager was going to bring our car over there (to their competition!) so that they could evaluate it and then Acura would bring it back and give us a price. In all my years purchasing vehicles I have never seen or heard of that before. I believe that the trade-in managers colluded with each other to cheat or deceive us on the fair value of our trade-in. We had ordered this car and we quite excited about it and this soured us on the whole thing. We still ended up purchasing what we thought would be our dream car but looking back on it feel that we were really taken advantage of. read more

Extremely disappointed with the way they handled a situation with my Acura TSX. They and American Honda are not standing behind their vehicles and not doing right by owners. I'm not even as dismayed about the problem ( EVERY manufacturer makes mistakes) as with the way both parties have chosen to deal with it. I'll never buy another Acura again and that's coming from someone who's only owned Acuras or Hondas since 2001: Civic, Prelude, CL and TSX. read more

My friend owns an Acura he bought from this dealership. He had a few repairs after owning the car for a while and was repeatedly overcharged. I thought it was just a service mishap, so when looking to test drive a new Subaru, I went there and gave em a shot. It was awful. I literally had to fight to find a salesperson to talk to. The staff was rude and unhelpful. My questions went unanswered. After 45 minutes of trying to get someone to help me (on a Thursday evening when it wasn't too busy) I gave up and left. I then got put on their email list and get blasted weekly with spam for their dealership. It seems impossible to get rid of them, like a social disease. Avoid them and find a professional operation; these guys are hucksters of the most dubious order. read more

I have looked for a car at this dealership, but did not purchase here. The lot is very cramped, moreso than some of the other dealerships in town. Plus, on a Saturday, all the 'client' parking spots were taken by dealer cars (or at least cars with the dealer license plates). This dealership is good for browsing the lot. My personal pet peeves of car shopping are being followed around by a salesman, and being dependent on a salesman to understand pricing on various cars. They know the price, just tell me so I can make a decision. This dealership was great - no salesmen followed us around, and the used cars had *prices* on the windows!! As a browsing experience, I was very satisfied. I can't speak to how the salesmen or the actual purchase experience would be. read more

This review is for sales and financing. Avoid at all costs. If I could give negative stars, I would. Had a fine experience with the sales person. He was personable and friendly but didn't really seem engaged until he found out it was really the car I wanted. Unfortunately it was the only one in the metro and a really good price, so I decided to buy it there. NEVER AGAIN. Financing gave me the run around, to the point of them putting my husband's name as the main person on the car. Yes, I was listed first on the form I filled out. Yes, my husband only showed up to sign the papers. What, women can't buy cars? This is 2011, get a clue. When I asked them to fix their error, they told me "We can't, you have to call the bank and Acura corporate." Oh, so now I have to fix YOUR mistake? Avoid at all costs. read more

Wowza! This was worst than going to the dentist! We ended up going to the Brooklyn Park Subaru and bought our XV Crosstreck there. This dealership doesn't put any effort or care into you if you're not there to purchase an Acura. We had a guy who barely told us anything about the car and acted like he could care less if we were there. We had the opposite experience at Brooklyn Park and would recommend going there. The people at that location are AMAZING! Bloomington can definitely take some tips from them. read more

After our experience at this dealership, I think we will become official Subaru owners in the near future- trading in our Lexus. We worked with Ross, and were SUPER impressed with his down-to-earth, knowledgeable approach. We never felt pressured, but were given just the details we needed to weigh our trade-in. Not only that, but they were incredibly fair in what they offered us, and efficient in answering any question we had. Also, they have really great coffee there while you wait! Honestly, I can't wait to go back- I really like them and trust them after the time they gave us today. I can't remember when I've had a more pleasant experience as a first-time customer. read more
