Certainly not the best or cleanest Walmart I have been to. The groceries and produce at this location are vast. They certainly have an issue with not having enough registers open though. I encounter this problem during almost every visit. The employees at this location aren't the best either. Having experienced many not so friendly employees and the providing of misinformation about items you may be looking for. Cheap prices... that's why we shop at the Walmart. read more

Walmart in Saint Augustine really lags behind other locations concerning keeping the shelves well stocked and the merchandise displayed neatly. I think this store is one of the older locations, and desperately needs improvement in inventory and floor management. If you have the time, it's worth the drive up US 1 north to the Durbin Pavilion Walmart. read more

Awesome selection at this location! The store was very clean and well-organized. This was our go-to for groceries during our recent visit to St. Aug and we were very pleased with this WalMart. It's a huge store, but the parking was plentiful and we never had an issue. read more

I would give this store lower if I could. I switched from At&t to Straight Talk wireless 6 years ago simply because I travel ALOT for my job. My job requirements include lots of physical movement, so I'm hard on phones. I like the ability to go into any Walmart & be able to quickly replace my phone. I spoke to 3 different electronics employees. 1) was too busy to answer my questions in non-tech 2) tried to help, but she had limited knowledge about the phone technologies 3) was very flippant Of all the 3 (all were around the tech desk) the 2nd rep (who is an older lady), tried to help me the most. This reminded me of why I drive to the 103rd location in Jacksonville, FL, to get help or service for any of my tech purchases or issues. read more

AWFUL. Everything is Awful. Customer Service doesn't answer their phone ever. Management doesn't want to help and every department keeps transferring me to other departments that don't want to help, can't help,or hang up the phone before trying. read more

What a nice Walmart. I was visiting from out of town and needed a prescription. They had it ready in about 20 minutes, and there was no wait. Attractive store exterior with the palm trees, though the parking lot could use more lighting. Very clean, well-stocked store with friendly employees and no long waits. One of the better Walmarts I've visited and one of my more pleasant experiences in St. Augustine. read more

Checked in over an hour ago at pickup and came back hoping my stuff would be ready and the attendant told me she was going to take people in the order they were standing in the pick up room regardless of my name being first seeing as I checked in longest ago. So that's nice. Now I'm sitting here for another 45 minutes after I'm don't shopping while everyone else standing in this room gets there stuff firsts read more

This Walmart deserves a zero for customer service because I recently moved down here from New York and I was trying to get my dad something nice for Christmas and I saw this grill that was on sale a few months ago for 250 but at the time I didn't have the money so for Christmas I was going to purchase it the box was not only faded but had rips and tears and look like it was open and then put back on the shelf I asked the store manager if there was something that can be done and he said that he would only give me 10% for a $600 grill that had a broken box and looked open meanwhile a few months ago it was for 250 when I asked him is there anything else that he can do he basically brushed me off with an attitude and when I said to him the box looks horrible and I don't understand why you can't honor the discount. Pieces may be missing or used he said he'll fix the box and resell it in a few months you could see why Walmart has the reputation it has it's really pathetic I hope everybody has a wonderful Christmas because I just spoke to the Grinch read more

This review is only for the Walmart location at 2355 US1 South, in St Augustine, FL; I wanted to make that clear, because I have no issues with any other Walmart location. I'm not sure where to begin, so I'll try to take you on a narrative tour. (For starters, I want to emphasize, that you should avoid at nearly all costs shopping at this store after dark...this is for your safety, and for the safety of anyone you care about). If you don't want to read the whole thing, I can summarize it all by saying, this location is like a giant Dollar General (sorry Dollar General). For those of you who want more details...here it goes: 1) The parking lot is laid out in a very odd way making it difficult to navigate in/out of the lot from the three possible entrances (to truly understand what I mean by odd, you'd have to see for yourself); after dark, the parking lot is very dark (yeah I know that happens at night time, but the lighting is nearly non-existent) compared to any other Walmart parking lot I've ever been to. 2) The entrance doors are oddly narrow...I know that seems like a strange thing to point out, but really, go there for yourself to see what I mean. You feel like cattle being led to slaughter as you pass through the vestibule area. (Again, only at this Walmart location...I've never seen this at ANY other location). 3) The store has a distinctively bad smell (especially at night for some odd reason). The closest smell I can compare it to is a cross between wet cardboard and a kitchen trash can that hasn't been taken out for a couple weeks. The smell seems to be located near the front of the store mostly, and can be detected throughout (from grocery to clothing). I bought a pair of socks from this location, and I could still smell this scent on them when I got home. 4) The store is unmistakably, unarguably the dirtiest Walmart I have ever shopped at, both interior and exterior. 5) To say that the customer service is bad is an understatement. This place is a model of anti-customer service. Employees all seem to have the attitude of, "You are keeping me from getting my work done so I can go home." 6) This isn't Walmart's fault, and have no control over this, but it cannot go unmentioned...the majority of the customers at this location seem to be escaped refugees from an insane asylum. This place really should have it's own reality show...these people make Honey Booboo's family look classy. The only explanation I can come up with for this is the broad range of the socioeconomic makeup of St. Augustine... The normal people shop at Target, everyone else (the crazies, the inbreds, the transients, the prison escapees and etc.) shops at Walmart (and Dollar General...again, sorry Dollar General). Why would anyone normal shop at this location? Target closes at 10:00 pm, and sometimes, you cannot wait until the next day to go buy that thing your child needs for school, or other similar circumstances, and "hey, Walmart is open 24 hours", so you brave the dark labyrinth parking lot, the slaughter house entrance, the smell, the empty shelves, the nearly hateful customer service, the dirty conditions, and the strangest people you will ever encounter (where do these people hide during the day?), and you put up with it...swearing the whole time, "I will never come back to this place"...only to do it again a week later. read more

I walked in when I was 20 and have stuck here for the last 4 years. Seriously why have 30 lines if you only open 4 if them. Think about what you could do with all that space. You could open a small bar so at least I would have something to do while I wait in what is hell line. read more

I have been shopping a number of times at this Wal-Mart, which is a Supercenter, by the way, I noticed that missing from the description. The store sits by itself off of US1, and has a very large parking lot. The automotive center is located to the south side of the store if you're interested in getting your oil or tires changed. The store layout is pretty good, very organized and easy to make your way around. There is a pretty large clothing selection, huge housewares section, a very nice electronics / photo section, a garden center, pharmacy, automotive section, sporting goods, and a pretty big grocery section. Of course, it is a Wal-Mart, so you're going to find great deals on everything in the store. It is definitely the cheapest place in town to buy whatever you're looking for. It is nice to have the grocery store and department store all in one, I usually buy whatever I need from the department area, then buy my groceries, especially if I'm buying milk, fruits, or veggies. Either way, it'd be hard to not find something you're looking for if you shop here. There are two reasons I gave this store a 4 star review, and will explain why I shop at Target. This store is almost ALWAYS busy. I have been in mornings, afternoons, evenings, even LATE evenings (It is open 24 hours). EVERY time I have been in the store I have had to wait an extraordinary length of time to check out at the register. There never seems to be enough open and people generally buy a lot of items there. The second reason I do not shop here is the customers themselves. There always seems to be a large number of individuals dressed inappropriately, swearing, leaving the store looking like a mess, and standing slack-jawed looking at items on shelves for hours at a time, completely oblivious to the fact that other customers are trying to walk through and shop in that area. I generally leave this store aggravated and angry, so it is up to you if you feel it is worth the aggravation in order to save money and shop here. I don't enjoy it, but a lot of people sure do! read more

Dealing with the Devil... I shop at Walmart for the same reason millions of others do. With a wife and kid at home, this place it the best for saving some cash while shopping. But that's it. This place is always packed, and for some reason in the 8 years I have lived here, there is always only 2 or 3 registers open... which then causes a huge back up to try and check out unless you want to use one the the self checkout lanes which has to have the service person stop chatting or texting and come over 30 times to override something... Also the employees don't know anything. They should at least take a small test if they are going to work in a specific department. I was once in the electronic section and overheard an employee tell an elderly man looking to buy a video game system for his grandson that Xbox 360 and PS3 games can be played on either system... Seriously? Another time they told someone that a DVD player can play bluray movies, and that there was no difference in plasma vs. LCD tvs... I was once in the sporting section and had a guy tell me that there is no difference in what golf ball you purchase as they are all the same, they just put different things on the box to make more money... seriously? Smoke another one there gramps and maybe one day you'll discover the governments plot about how they hide a secret base on the dark side of the moon... I hate that I have to shop here, but really I don't have a choice sometimes. I go to Target for everything else when I can, and if sometimes I have to spend a few extra bucks then so be it... The only reason I gave this a 2 was because of the prices. I know it's not like this review will have any impact what so ever on the business this place done, but sometimes when you get pissed off so many times you just have to vent... Maybe (doubtful) a manager will read this so they can better train their employees. read more

I was just at the store I had almost $250.00 worth of grocery's in the cart. Not 1 register open just the scanners you can check out with. I asked the one working at the scanners why no one was working a register he said they didn't schedule anyone to work the register. I said that's not my problem I guess they don't need the sales. I was not the only one complaining. I just left the cart and walked out. read more

This store is run by Sam Kamineni and it absolutely awful. They just spent millions putting in a new liquor store section and yet they have not spent time nor money on providing their employees with the correct manpower to operate an effective business. We all know WalMart isn't know for having a good staffing policy so let's do something about it. The only way to make a difference is to shop elsewhere. The money center is closed 65% of the time even when the hours are posted. I've documented it numerous times. The cashier lines are half staffed everyday or even less. I've got it documented. I've heard employees complaining to me directly and to other employees about the lack of management assistance to help them better do their jobs and the lack of more staff on duty. I've got names and times. If you can avoid this store do it. read more

Absolutely the worst Walmart I have ever been to. Very few cashiers. Stockers blocking isles. Out of so many items all the time. Very rude customer service. Very dangerous parking lot, especially after they changed they changed the stop signs to "Stop if pedestrians in walkway". Nobody seems to stop anymore. I have almost been hit several times and saw a little old lady almost get creamed because someone didn't stop. Starting to shop at higher priced store and online to preserve my sanity. read more

RANT for our Walmart (again)! Went in to pick up 2 items. There were only 2 regular registers & 3 self serve lines open. The lines were crazy. A man asked why & the lady said that was the only ones that showed up tonight! Why did they actually do all the self serve lanes if they aren't going to turn them on?? Renovating the store certainly didn't improve the service! read more

The worst WalMart I've ever seen/shopped at. It is an older store, not a "Super" store, so doesn't have a great selection of items. The shelves are poorly stocked and FREQUENTLY empty and stay that way for weeks and weeks, especially in the pharmacy/health area. If you need to use a power/ handicap cart you will be disappointed 90% of the time as they will be dead or broken. Also, it is impossible to access MANY parts of the store on the cart. The entire store, inside and out BADLY needs spruced up! It is depressing to shop there! We call it "HELLMART"!! read more

My family LOVES Walmart. We go to every Walmart on trips around the country. Sadly, this is the worst one we've encountered and live near. The store is ALWAYS under-stocked and out of items, no matter what your fancy. Iced coffee? Out. Caffeine-free soda? Out. Favorite cereal? Out. Anything but whole milk? Out. Laughing cow cheese? They laugh back at me. Out. Worse, the mean manager lady chases people out the door who didn't steal anything because you have to go in and out Only one door on the far side of the store, and they couldn't lock the door for emergency reasons. Also, ONE super frail elderly cashier about to keel over from old age consistently works the ONLY one of 32 cash registers open every single day, and there's a 20 minute line for it, consistently, no matter the time of day. It should be considered elder abuse to not pay the woman a decent wage and let her retire. The self check-outs are just as long, and the rest of the hundreds of customers have to filter through these ridiculous self-checkout systems making trillions of errors that were once easily handled by skilled cashiers. 32 empty registers and now the managers are consistently worried customers will run out the other doors with merchandise. Sad that Walmart has come to this. Also, the meat is consistently not priced and someone has to spend 20 minutes holding up the line while someone else runs back to find out the price. I WON'T buy a product that inconveniences 5 other customers waiting in line behind me. I'm not exactly picky customer but Walmart has failed on its old-standbys. read more

Great management staff.I shop here allot and can always find what I am looking for.clean store.and hard working people.thanks guys!

I do whatever I can to avoid this place. Their pharmacy is the worst - i now use a local pharm (island pharmacy) who delivers for free for comparable prices. I only will go to Wmart Pharm as very last resort. Ditto for their vision center. While I go there for my yearly exam I do that ONLY because Dr Z is so nice. However, the support staff who works in the area where you order glasses and contacts from (not his employees, Walmart's) are totally incompetent - at least all of the ones i have dealt with are. When I called, one clerk told me that you had to come in to order contacts (not true, you can do it online, she told me after I got there) and only quoted me prices for ONE BOX not 30 days for BOTH eyes (I use 2 different strengths - like I am only going to order them for one eye??!). Turned out they were a lot cheaper elsewhere online. But because of her stupidity I wasted a trip there. She was totally unclear on the phone and a jerk in person and could have cared less. In general, the store is crowded, over-shopped, and staffed with very rude people. I will even pay more elsewhere to avoid the walmart PITA factor whenever i can. Better yet, order from Amazon if you can - Prime delivers in 2 days, no rude clerks to deal with and no hassle of driving there and fighting the crowds. read more

It's really too bad I can't give this zero stars, this is the worst Walmart I've ever been to, the staff is lazy, the people are soooo rude here, there's never any parking, it's over crowded because it's their only Walmart, please don't go here there are much better places to buy groceries in town. read more

I didn't think it was possible to find a Walmart that makes you mad looking for staff. I have shopped here one time too many and now I go to Jacksonville to buy what I need....Walmart or not. There is no staff and if you actually manage to find staff, they don't know anything. I found staff in computers and she passed me off to someone else while mumbling she did't know and the person she passed me off to also didn't know. He asked the one guy who knew the department and he told me to look on the shelf. Really? This store is insulting to the average shopper. They obviously don't consider their patrons at all. I shop at this Walmart a lot, but wish they would change a few things. First of all, there are NEVER enough registers open. You have to wait in line for way too long, in my opinion. There are at least 15-18 registers, and only 1-2 ever open! They tell you to use the self checkout, but that takes forever because you have to wait for a manager to override something every 30 seconds, especially if you have a lot of groceries! The second thing that irritates me to no end, is the fact that if you do your shopping at night, when they are restocking the shelves, they block almost every aisle so that you have to walk about 8-10 aisles to find an opening to get to the other side with your cart! If your feet are already killing you from your work day, having to walk all those extra aisles makes you want to curse at someone! The third irritating thing about this store, is the fact that they allow their employees who are doing floor detail, to follow you from aisle to aisle with their annoyingly LOUD & SMELLY machines. The smells are horrible and irritate your eyes tremendously. They expect you to keep moving out of their way, when it should be them moving out of the customers way! I did not come in to their store to be followed by rude people pushing a disgusting stinky and loud machine. They just keep following you. They will not find another route. Shouldn't the customer be top priority over their floors????? Also ... if you come into the store for cold medicine, and they have that area sectioned off, to mop or wax ... you are not allowed to buy the cold medicine!!!!!! Even if you ask the employee to get it for you, they will tell you flat out "NO". I have actually seen them grab a customer and threaten to call security if they go to get the item anyway. If you are not allowed to get the item, then someone who works there should get it for you! So ... you have made the trip all the way to Walmart, and then you are told that you cannot buy the item you came for, because their precious floor is being cleaned! That is utterly ridiculous! To me, this Walmart store seems to care far more about how the floors look, than how they treat their customers, or even if the customer returns! I have been shopping there for at least 9 years now, so believe me, I know! read more

Today I was again reminded of why I never shop at Walmart! I purchased 3 items, put the receipt in the bag, and started for my car. Unfortunately, I left the bag in the shopping cart. (I recently had surgery and was in a lot of pain, so I wanted to get home)I didn't realize I left the bag in the cart until I got home. I checked my car 3 times to make sure, and it wasn't there. I immediately called the store, explained the situation, and was not surprised, but was very upset when I was told the bag had not been turned in, and there was nothing they could to about it. Normal attitude for Walmart. It was not a lot of money, but the fact that I paid and had no recourse is very upsetting. Not to mention the mentality of the person I spoke with on the phone, and the "I don't care" attitude. Their prices aren't even that good any more! Suffice to say, I plan NEVER TO SHOP THERE AGAIN! read more

Well I knew that myself boycotting Walmart, was a matter of time. Sometimes they have the brands you buy, but alot of times, not. So this last trip was it! We went there about 6:30 to pick up things for our animals, and a couple other things we usually don't shop for there, but being it wasn't so busy, we thought, we should get in and out. We had 18 items. There were, 4 self checkouts open on one end, with the lines longer than the 3 full service checkouts, one being express, 20 items or less. At the other end of the 25 full service checkouts, (which are dust collectors), 2 of the 4 self service were open, with only a couple of people waiting. So we went there, and we were told by the checkout manager, in not so pleasant of a tone in her voice, they were closing. I did say the other end is packed with long lines, which didn't seem to concern her. We went back to the other end, and decided to go through the full service express checkout. Here's the thing: Customers who check themselves out, are taking jobs from paid employees, AND THEY DON'T EVEN GET PAID! Walmart has trained their customers, to cash themselves out, as well as spend their money there. And they have the nerve to compare themselves, to Publix, Dollar General, ect. In the past years, I did do alot of my grocery shopping there, and over the years, their prices have gotten much higher, even alot of items are more expensive there, than other stores. The parking lot there is enough to get you aggravated, before going into the store. Then you have to deal with the rudeness of the customers. And forget about finding a clerk, if you need help. They should change their name to China-Mart, as everything they stock, mostly comes from China. The demise of our country. The super center, is on the way out. They are having a hard time competing with online stores, a.e. Amazon, ect. Walmarts future vision is, Walmart To Go. Google it! As Walmart has been knocking all the mom and pop stores out, and raising prices, the online conglomerate giants are taking them down. Sorry to say, I haveto give them a 1 star rating, or I cannot post my review. However, if they offered minus star ratings, I would rate them, minus 5 stars. Sorry Walmart, You Did This. read more

I will give it 3.5 stars and maybe 3.75. I enjoy shopping there too, and the store is clean. I was very happy to see there is a fabric dept. there! It has been removed from all the stores near where I came from--just moved from CSRA in Ga. I have had no trouble at all with long lines. They are short compared to Augusta, Ga. !! The sales people are nice and friendly and helpful. No problem there; but yes, I do notice the shoppers themselves are bit sloppy looking, some of them, anyway, not all. Many are dressed inappropriately, yes, but that's everywhere now a days! Especially with the younger people, ..and especially so close to the beach in a "beach town"...that's kinda to be expected, dah! Very good selection of merchandise, except for the home laundry area. They had just 2 ironing boards left in the whole store. And one selection for the laundry hampers. But overall, I was real pleased with the store. It's like a breath of fresh air, compared to all 3 in Augusta, Ga. and even better than the ones in N. Augusta, S.C. read more

This Wal-Mart is a joke. I checked out in the garden center yesterday, the associate was carly. I don't usually complain but I feel I need to this time. First there was wet muddy looking stuff on the counter,I bought clothing and I didn't want her to run the clothing through the wetness, she got an attitude and just wiped it with her hand and just kinda blew me off. She handed me the bags,I said this is it, she rolled her eyes and said uh yeah. I get home I'm missing 3 items. I call the store Linda explains that yes my bag is in the garden center, someone is walking it up right now, and I said ok. I call back to explain to another associate that I will be there no later than 11pm, the associate says ok,I put your name on the bag, and it's here. Ok , my husband walks in at 10pm, they have already returned the stuff to the shelves, really people? Husband walks outside cause I'm in the car with 3 kids and, he explains to me they said they returned it to the shelf. I was livid. I call and say ok it's 10pm, you're closing customer service,I need my stuff, the lady lisa explains she's been there since 2pm, and she wasn't told anything about this, that she can see where it was logged into the book, so I'm like can I just come get a duplicate of what was returned to the shelves since she has all upc numbers written in front of her,I get a no, you need your receipt, really lady, I know exactly what was bought, you have the items that were returned to the shelves written in your book, I described all 3 items that you logged into being returned, and this is after I paid for them and the cashier carly didn't hand me the bag. I have lived in saint Augustine all my life. I have always shopped at Wal-Mart, but this experience has left me pissed off to the point of where I will shop at target from now on, yes they may be a little more expensive but you can believe this doesn't happen there, if it did, I'm sure it would have been handled differently. Wal-Mart lacks so much communication between employees it's pathetic. This place is a joke, and most of the employees don't even care about their jobs, they are just there for a check.
