Brand new store - very small eating area & cozy. Unfortunately, it is not a clean area, customers as well as a few store employees, come & go, and cannot clean up after themselves. Tables are greasy, slimy & just filthy - there are No Wet ones to use to wipe down before eating, nor Sanitizer station. I was there enjoying lunch for over 30 min & no one came in to check. 1-elder employee sitting on left side round tales, with his entire legs up on the benches to sit enjoying his phone time. Another one using the entire 4-chair table - eating alone on phone, left -did not pick up after herself - Gentleman in front of her was sucking on a bucket of chicken, throwing bones on the table, clean sucking his fingers as he had no napkins, got up & left his mess. When friend & I were done lunch, we cleaned our area as well as we could, as there is no Wet ones or wet cleaning area to clean up after yourself. Total sitting area was not inviting, so who ever designed your new store area, was not thinking that Shopping was a pleasure, for families, singles or children to eat ,,,especially with all the viruses going around. Publix has created a solid reputation by offering incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals, and we can never forget their subs, which are affectionately known as "Pub Subs." Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way, it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. This is a great Publix and I enjoyed the upbeat vibe as I grabbed a few of my necessities. Publix is our go to market in Florida. The cooking lady that lost that position because the program was eliminated was so wonderful, and it is one of the reasons I am not giving Publix 5 stars. I would appreciate a class or two, on how to use the Publix App on my smartphone. There was a coupon on it for free flowers. No one was at the flower booth. The gentleman at the Customer Service counter told me what flower bouquet to look for it. Could not find it. Meanwhile my husband paid, while I walked back to the register. He did not want to delay other customers on the line. There was another delay to get my $3.00 coupon and $2.00 off Activia at Customer Service. I 'd appreciate a Zoom meeting or class on how to use the Publix app. It would be nice if the Publix food demonstrator would hold a cooking class once in awhile. I would give this store at 2. It has a great location and a lot of beach stuff inside for things you might have forgotten, or to enhance a day in the sun. The bad: The deli moves with absolutely no urgency to please customers or meet the time they give you for online orders. Do not order anything ahead of time, just don't, they won't have it done. Doesn't matter if it's a simple pub sub, doesn't matter if you want it in 30 minutes or 5 days, they WILL NOT have it done on time. I would only use this deli again if I could anticipate what I wanted to eat days ahead of time, then wanted to spend half a day wondering around the store for it to still not be made on time. read more

I'm not normally a Publix shopper only because there is no location within several hundred miles of the home office but whenever I'm in Florida I look forward to coming to this chain as it's usually a quality experience. I came here mid-day for some lunch time provisions as we were going to grub it up on the beach. Easy enough to get to as it was only a short drive down the road from the hotel. The parking situation is a bit nuts as the strip mall the Publix is in apparently gets very, very crowded around lunch time and the space sharking along with the clueless driving was in full effect. The deli in the back was well staffed even though the line was long. Overall it was only a few minute wait and I was on my way. Prices, much to my surprise, were actually a dollar and change less per pound for the exact same items that I would buy at home. I found that noteworthy as the one knock on Publix is that their prices are not competitive with other grocery buying options. Yes the stores are usually bright, airy and clean and the staff is usually very helpful but it does come at a price. It's sort of like Wegmans back home for me. You shop there for quality but not if you're on a budget or if you're trying to find deals. Still not thrilled with some of the prices especially since they don't offer a loyalty dork card but just like Bed Bath and Beyond they take any and all coupons so my advice of course is to bring as many as possible. The shelves are absolutely EMPTY this is UNACCEPTABLE! I was shopping on Saturday, and went over to the dairy department to look for daisy's sour cream, which is buy one get one. There was NOTHING on the shelves when I looked at the section. So, I went up to this older lady, think her name was Christie, and asked if they have any more in the back. She immediately told me there was not any more, I found it odd considering it was on sale that week and I saw it at the store before last week. Five minutes later I saw another worker, Conor, and asked him the same question. After several minutes of waiting he gave me the sour cream I requested. I found it odd that he was able to find the sour cream but Christie wasn't able to find the sour cream five minutes prior. Maybe they got some in inbetween that time?!? Stay away from the deli section. They've got the rudest employees in all of Saint Augustine. They make ordering cold cuts a nightmare and overcomplicate the ordering process. I went in to order ham, turkey and salami and they turned it into a big production - a long series of back-and- forth questions when all I wanted was regular, non-flavored. old cuts - I don't care about maple ham, smoked turkey, etc. I just wanted regular cold cuts and that fact couldn't register in the employees' heads. I walked in for 1 item. We are from Texas and my child got a minor Sun burn. So we stopped at Publix where everyone stayed in the car and I ran in. I wasable to find the exact product I wanted in a about 2-3 minutes! Great I thought and no line at the less than ten register. Upon check out Joshua saw me walk up to the register and then began a conversation with Mary-Catherine about his schedule. I waited... upon realizing I was not a concern for their attention I informed Joshua I needed to go as I have children waiting in the car. I love publix and love their subs, normally. I just had a Philly sub from the one in st augustine on Sr 16. I knew I wasn't going to like it when the kid put the chopped roast beef with the onions and mushrooms in the oven at once. The veggies were always cooked separately in the past. I hate raw onions. It wasn't in long. He also forgot to ask about salt and pepper so it had no taste and I had to pick put the onions. ( I order w no peppers, they would have been raw too). $10 for a sub, I should have gone to subway. And I only got the Philly because they were out of meatballs. It's an ample shopping center with plenty of options for nearby dining, retail, and more. There's also the liquor store next to it which helps supplement your inventory. I ordered my deli meats online using the website and since it was quick and ready when I arrived at the deli, it didn't waste any time during my quick stop. There's plenty of sales that change throughout the week so take advantage of a BOGO when you see one. This is in a sleepier beach town so the next Publix might be a bit further away which warrants for a trip if you're in the area. I went to purchase a turkey today and when I was checking out the cashier notice there was no price tag. My husband took it back to the freezer and selected a turkey with a tag and brought it back to the cashier. I looked at the price that was rung up and said wait a minute the price isn't correct. Then we saw that even though their was a tag it was incorrect. The manager was called to change the price which he did. I asked did they still have the discounted or free policy since the price was wrong. The answer a bit rudely was it wasn't a wrong price it was a wrong tag. Publix super market is clean, very well laid out and an absolute pleasure to shop at. There's a great selection of organic items which surprised me and the prices are really reasonable. They also have great deli sandwiches and fresh prepackaged fruits and vegetables as well as other deli selections such as hummus and potato salad for a quick and convenient lunch or dinner option. The wine and beer selections here are pretty good and this location has a Publix Liquor Store right next store where there are even more options as well as harder liquors such as vodka, gin, scotch and the like. You'll find items at different locations in the store for different prices (limes in the beer aisle at 3 for $1, limes in the produce section at 14 for $2). Some souvenir items. No self-checkout.
