Shoutout to our local community heroes! I love this venue!!! I literally plan what neighborhood to live in based on where the nearest Asian market is. It has been a great method everywhere that I have lived. This venue is a blessing!! The owners are so friendly and welcoming. I called ahead of my visit this time, because I was on a mission to find Thai chili peppers. Score!!! I was getting desperate after going to a local "natural market", then Winn Dixie, and was I was almost going to go to a Thai restaurant to ask if I could buy some peppers off them. I called to PJ's and asked the owner and I lit up like a kid at Christmas time when she said "yes, I have them"! I immediately said that I was on my way! There's lots of parking spaces and it's easy to get in to the plaza from the road. Not only was it easy to find my prize, but it was so fun to look at all the delicious ingredients, treats, dishes, teas, and medicines. The refrigerators and freezers are full of Asian delectables and I was sooooo hungry and wanted everything! I had to limit myself for now because I was waiting for my next paycheck, but I still bought more than I should have!!!! Why ? Because I don't get to see these products at other local stores. I know that I always get my necessities/ essentials/ pantry must haves... but it is so hard not to get candies, teas, snacks, dishes, and cravings!!! I should not shop when I'm hungry... or did all these awesome products just make me hungry!!! I was feeling greedy for sure!!! I love this venue and I love the awesome lady sitting at the counter as she helped me pick out which package of pickled mangoes were better. And of course, I bought the one was her favorite!!! PJ's Asia One Market continues to be a favorite for us. It's incredibly handy if we've run out of rice, need some ingredients for a stir fry or papaya salad, and don't want to drive all the way to one of the larger markets in Jacksonville. You can find pretty much any dry ingredient and sauce here from the Chinese, Japanese, and Thai food food realms. They have several freezers with a variety of fish and seafood, desserts like mochi, and ready-to-eat dishes. They also carry a selection of miso, vegetables and vegetable garnishes in their refrigerators. While not a full selection like you'll find in a larger market, what I appreciate about them is that they specialize in the items that you are not going to find often, or in good quality, in Winn Dixie or Publix. You can consistently find items like mushrooms, lemongrass, onions, daikon radish, taro, turmeric, galangal, ginger, green onions, Asian eggplants, thai basil, mint, and the like. I also VERY much appreciate that these foods are still alive, and have not been sprayed or tampered with to prevent them from sprouting. I currently have turmeric, galangal, taro, and lemongrass growing in my garden that I've planted directly from PJ's. read more

Great little store. Has a lot of stuff you don't see at the local grocery stores. The staff is willing to help if you have any questions. As far as appearances. It's more then dated. But if your looking to cook Asian and need supplies you will find it here. It has plenty of parking. read more

Horrible customer service. I was carrying 2 heavy bags of rice while I was waiting in line and saw a cold beverage I wanted to try from the drink cooler. The girl at the cash register said it would be nice if I didn't slam the door. I said it was an accident I'm carrying heavy items in my arms... she rolled her eyes and said that I had done that twice. Mind you this conversation is happening in front of other patrons that she's checking out. I get to the counter and after giving her my form of payment she continues to be disrespectful and says 'would have been to know that before'. I asked what her name was which she refused to tell me. My wife is Asian and we are there every other week to stock up on stuff she can't find at Publix. Owners are always there and very nice. The store is clean and accessible. The last time they closed for an extended vacation we had to head north. The Jacksonville options were bigger, but didn't really have a better selection and didn't treat us with the friendly, familiarity we prefer. read more

Food expired but still on the shelve for sale, there are also overprice. One day I went to Jacksonville to buy stuff, the owner over the store in Jacksonville and buying stuff for resale here in St Augustine. There are many excellent product in Jacksonville and Palm cost stores everyone can buy from. So Avoid this store if you can. read more

Nice little market with an endless array of Asian ingredients... they also have refrigerators filled with local/home-grown produce (bok Choy, bean sprouts, kimchee, etc..)and a freezer section with fresh meats (seafood,pork, pork blood, etc...). You're not gonna find a better Asian market than this. They carry just about everything I've needed when I get on my Asian cooking kick. I no longer have to bypass interesting recipes because I wouldn't find hard to find ingredients from regular supermarkets in town. They've got it all. Some items higher price but it beats driving up to Jax. Most all products are very reasonably priced. The staff is always friendly and helpful and they carry all types of products from Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean... etc. The last recipe I made was Ginger Coconut Red Bean Rice and I found the brand of coconut milk and Thai red curry paste I like. Small looking store from the outside but very clean and well stock inside. We were able to find all the ingredients needed to make traditional Vietnamese food. They also carry the zero carbs noodles here which we bought and tried out. Very nice owner who helped us finding ingredients as well. All the items are reasonable priced. Super clean, bright and well organized shop with friendly service. We stopped by to stock up on items we cannot easily get here on the island and were not disappointed. Lots of 'staples' and a great selection of pouches of sauces for quick meals (the 'Asian Home Gourmet' packs are awesome!). Nice looking produce and a mouth watering freezer section (Dumplings!). Definitely would be a regular stop if we lived nearby. read more

Alright ya'll this place is awesome. Let me tell you. I Walked in with my girlfriend after viewing there website and boy o' boy it was awesome. Just about anything you could want and the prices were awesome. I thought the store was a little bigger but they had all of what I wanted. I was very impressed. They have a very home like atmosphere and the person at the cash register was an older gentleman who was SOO nice and respectful. I spent $40 here and all was worth it! So happy we found this place! Where I come from, there's an Asian market around every corner. Very hard to find decent Asian food here in St. Aug, so if you want it, you have to make it yourself. Thanks to PJ's, you can. Small store but they have a huge assortment of goods. My favorite? BOBA! I miss my bubble tea shop in Cambridge, but PJ's carries all different types of tapioca pearls (quick cook, instant, normal, brown, rainbow), excellent! Their sauce selection also can't be beat. Cheap prices for beautiful looking fresh veggies. Lots of noodle choices as well, although a lot of the fresh made stuff is then frozen which is kind of iffy to me. Very clean and organized store. They carry most ingredients to help you create your dish, all the vegetables are very neatly arranged and the easy to spot that one ingredient not found in your regular grocery store. Nice clean market. We go for Thai food ingredients mostly. They have everything we need. FreshThai basil,Garlangal root and lemon grass. Palm Coast Market is 2nd best to this one. They do have more produce and fresh meat too though if thats what your looking for. read more

Staff is super friendly and helpful to someone walking in with a recipe book and I love that. This place is cute, tidy and stored with all kinds of goodies you love and ones to experiment. They even have frozen squid which I am using as a back up to the fresh ones I got from Seafood Shoppe. Their veggies are cheap and the perfect amount.
