This review is for my experience with the bakery and deli catering services used for my wedding. When I first heard Publix did wedding cakes, I wasn't too fond of the idea because surely I'd have some fancy shop create a one-of-a-kind cake. However, the more money I spent on other items, the less I cared about where the cake came from. The Publix Shoppes at Murabella team did a great job creating and delivering my wedding cake and it was significantly cheaper than what you'd buy at a speciality shop. I needed to feed my wedding party lunch so I also catered platters of chicken tenders, veggies and assorted subs. I worked with Annmarie in particular and she actually asked permission to come in to my bridal suite to introduce herself which was really nice. The cake was gorgeous and we added a topper and I had my florist add flowers on to it to really pull the piece together. It was nice checking two items of a wedding cake and lunch off my list with the easy ordering and delivery process through Publix. read more

Purchased dozen roses for wife and she went to put in vase and there was two 4-5 inch stem roses shoved in the bag, not freshly cut like advertised. Called Floral Manager Brad and let's say customer service skills is lacking. I will be returning for a full refund!! read more

Ok, saw some reviews on here were less than flattering so I decided to add my 2 cents. Firstly I think most of the negative reviews were one offs. People in Florida expect Publix stores to be perfect, because quite frankly most of the time they are. We Floridians have gotten spoiled by the exemplary performance and quality of products Publix provides so when we have a less than perfect experience we knee jerk with a bad review. Don't just take my word for it though. Look at the total number of Grocery stores in your area. Are over 60% Publix? That is because they are not only liked, but loved by their community. They could not thrive without a loyal customer base. The employees are friendly because they are taken care of by the company with decent benefits and ownership stock in the company, so they care to see happy customers as they have skin in the game too. Also not a single negative review I saw spoke to a manager. If they would have I am sure whatever the issue was it would have been resolved immediately. Bad apples crop up at times , people having bad days happen. Their bakery is brilliant. Cakes are made with buttercream frosting. Other stores(won't mention whom) use sweetened Crisco as their base. Why, because it seals the cake so it can last forever, but tastes artificial at best. Publix donates all of their bakery items they don't sell. Why? Because it is good and Nobel? No, because it costs them nothing to give good bread away they would not sell to paying customers, and yes it is nice to boot. You might ask how I know this. Well I don't work for Publix, but I do work with most major grocery chains and I pick up things as I speak to managers and employees. If you are new to Florida try Publix and other stores and make your own call. read more

The absolute WORST publix I have EVER been to. Never get your prescriptions from this location. I recently switched to them and I have been very unhappy with them. I have waited in line for at least 45min every time even during the week. I got a text saying my prescription was ready 3 days ago, went to go pick it up and it wasn't ready. How does that make sense??? After hearing my stuff wasn't ready after I had waited in line for 45 mins is not okay. Customer service is awful at this location and that will be my last time in that publix. I will gladly drive an extra 15 mins to another location. Save your time and go somewhere else. read more

Moved here a few months ago and I hear people always raving about Publix being the best grocery store. I was extremely disappointed to find very little vegan options and the options they did have weren't brands I would buy. Their organic selection is very limited & I didn't see any organic meats for my husband. Aside from the selection disappointment, it was a very clean & organized store & everyone was very nice. Unfortunately I won't be able to do my shopping here. Maybe in the future they will expand their options or at least offer better quality vegan options (there are so many better vegan cheeses then the ones they carry). read more

The deli service is suffering right now. I've live in this are for 8 yrs and go to this Publix 2 times a week. I do my deli orders online to save time and the past 3 months my wait at the store has been getting longer and longer. Today I ordered at 10:58am for an 11:30am pick up and I didn't get my stuff until 12:03pm. The deli manager had to make my sandwiches. They we're out of Publix sweet ham and no one bothered to tell me. Do not order online....you can get it fast at the store. read more

Normally I find Publix to be a clean, friendly, and enjoyable place to shop. But this Publix was an abysmal disappointment. I came in with my family to go shopping and get subs for dinner and we were not greeted with the same friendliness and quality as we have in many other publix grocery stores. After walking around the dirty and crowded store we got in line for subs. There were only 3 people ahead of us in line and 3 people working the sub station (granted, one of them was taking care of online orders). For those three people in front of us in line to be helped we waited 45 minutes!! It should not take that long to make 3 sandwiches! When it was finally our turn we approached the counter only to find that every other item we wanted on our sub was out and the man helping us had to go into the back and slice more cheese, slice more turkey, get more spinach, refill the ranch etc. It was relatively early for dinnertime, about 5:45, so there was no reason for the sub station to be out of so many ingredients! As if that wasn't bad enough, the cleanliness and cleanup of the crew at the sub station was downright frightening. The employees did not change gloves between tasks, leading to mysterious toppings rubbed on the cheese in my sub that were on his gloved fingers from the last sandwich the employee made. Not only that, but they continued to use the same two knives throughout all the customers before us, and including us! They never cleaned the knife or got a new one! They should consider themselves lucky they did not get a substance that one customer was allergic to on that customers sandwich due to the lack of knife and glove changes. Almost just as stomach churning to see, the table where the subs were being made were not cleaned as well! Every few customers the employees would brush all the lettuce, olives, bread crumbs, and whatever else on to the floor but that was the extent of the cleaning process. Not even a quick wipe down with a wet towel. The dirty table resulted in 2 black olives I found in my sub that I did not ask for, but because they failed to clean the table after making my family members sub with olives I had to pick them out of my sub! Even worse, I found a mushroom in my sub. Nobody in my family/group asked for mushrooms so how old the mushroom was and how it got into my sandwich is unknown to me. It did, however, ruin my appetite once and for all. I will definitely not be returning to this publix until it is cleaned up and the employees retrained to provide better service. It was very upsetting to have such an experience in a Publix, which normally is the highest quality grocery store I have ever been to. read more

Front counter has a crowd of a line, stand there for 15 minutes and get to the front of the line and the guy says he can't help me that I should of been in a line to the side when it was crowded and told me to get behind a new line of 4 people that just walked up. I'll go to the publix closer to St Augustine as I have way better service there. It might not able to get everything that I wanted, but the staffs there are very nice, they look after the customers very well, my car got hit at the parking lot, the manager Chris and the meat manager Antony are so helpful, they stay with me till the police arrival, I am very appreciated for their help, Publix is lucky to have the staffs like them. read more

Continually disappointed by this store. They sell deli sandwiches. All of the sandwiches can have what you want, pretty much as much as you want. That is unless you order a Jacksonville Jaguars sandwich. Try to tell them you don't want Coleslaw on it and all bets are off. Now your 7.00 sandwich becomes a 10.00 sandwich! For leaving something off! This is a very poor decision by Publix and their management teams. What if I'm allergic to cabbage? Or mayonaise? I have to pay extra for that? I literally always go to this Publix and I am very understanding that I came in close to closing time, I work in food/customer service as well I understand being frustrated with customers coming in as we close but never have i EVER been rude to a customer as they walk in to get a service I am being paid for, I also understand that people have things going on behind their job and we all have bad days but as I walked in to get a cake for my coworker because it's her last day I clocked out early hence sacrificing my own money for another company and I admit I was very confused I've never purchased a cake from Publix there was a lot of confusion and this would be frustrating again I UNDERSTAND. The man at the bakery he was probably in his 20s or 30s was incredibly frustrated with me for being confused I was constantly apologizing for my confusion because I was aware this situation would be annoying to him but when he took a deep breath and started shaking his hands like he was holding back a punch my mood changed I apologized again his tone didn't change and im not easily upset but at this point I realized I needed to walk out before I acted as disrespectful as this man was to me. We are visiting friends here and love the local Publix. We're from San Antonio, so we don't have this chain where we live. The thing that really makes this a five-star kind of place is the SERVICE. Groceries are the same pretty much anywhere. But the service provided people such as the checkout cashier Laken is top-notch. She is empowered to make good decisions on behalf of Publix customers, offers info on coupons and BOGO deals, and pretty much makes sure we feel well taken care of. Love it! Keep it up. Its one of the newer stores. Well lit and clean. Staff is friendly. The pastry section is small as well as the fruit and vegetable area. But then, I am used to going to Wegmens up north. Publix has the best fried chicken ever, and in my opion it blows Popeyes and KFC out of the water. The wings are great, but they can spice it up a bit more. All in all, Publix is one of the best in the nation and it came in second out of the top three; only behind Wegmens and followed by Trader Joes. read more
