I used to love Publix. But now, I can hardly wait for the Walmart to be built near us. When I have to purchase from Publix, I always feel like I've been reamed. They typically charge about a dollar per item more than Walmart. But yesterday, I only picked up 3 items, and the price I paid was nearly $5 more than Walmart prices. The same three items at Walmart would have been $12.59 vs. $17.27 at Publix. Geez!!!! The only way to get a reasonable price on anything at Publix is with their BOGOs, but even that is not enough to make up for their price gouging on regularly priced products. So normally I love going to Publix. They are also friendly and very polite. But I am starting to get aggravated with their sub online ordering system. This is the second location where my order was not correct. I ordered 5 subs with one toasted. 3/5 subs were made and the one that was supposed to be toasted was not. It's frustrating because I order online so I don't have to wait in line and I still end up having to. Check your online orders before leaving the store. read more

What happened? I thought it was my Publix only. But Publix as a hole have turned into a type of hole . The quality has disappeared altogether. Cost is way more then competitors. Sorry but paying more for the same that I can get cheaper is ridiculous. The meats are horrible. Chicken breasts look grey. My wife and I stopped buying meats from Publix two years ago. They price gouge you. We used to shop at the Publix at Anastasia plaza. And every once in awhile we would go up to cobblestone Publix. Just by chance we had bought some stuff from Anastasia and couldn't find others so we went to cobblestone. I noticed that day on the receipt that the stuff we had bought from the Anastasia Island Publix was way more expensive than what was being charged at cobblestone Publix . My parents live in an affluent area of million dollar homes on the West Coast. They're Publix has the best fruit the best vegetables the best meats the best service counters the best sandwich counters. It's unbelievable how they cater to the money. One I'm very happy that Anastasia Island Publix was knocked down to be rebuilt. It has opened my eyes to the ripoff. Kind of feel violated LOL. Like somebody had their hand in my pocket as soon as I walked into the Publix counting my change. Alisa and Ryan are the slowest sub makers I've ever seen in my life. It took Ryan 25 minutes to cut 3 pieces of damn ham. HAM. Now, let's move on to Alisa. Alisa shook the bag of Sriracha chicken tender sub for about 3 minutes. I believe after 1 minute there is enough sriracha mixed around. NOW, let's go back to Ryan. Ryan has the laziest attitude. He's mumbling and being rude to customers. He reminds me of the sloth from Zootopia. Yes, I just compared him to a SLOTH from ZOOTOPIA. Embarrassing to say the least. I will not stand for this. After trying for months to get my prescriptions here, I finally gave up and transferred them all to another Publix further away. I know it's difficult now, but I've had to wait weeks for refills from here, then stand in a long line to pick them up. The last one was for an inhaler I desperately needed, and despite using their app to refill it, and calling them, after a week I had my doctor arrange to have it filled, but even that didn't work. I finally took it to another Publix, where it was filled in a few hours. The rest of the store is ok, but the pharmacy is useless. read more

This is NOT about the grocery store but the pharmacy. I've been coming to this location for well over a year. Always very friendly staff BUT also the SLOWEST pharmacy service I've ever experienced is far more the norm than not. And don't bother pre-paying... they will act like you're not standing there and continue taking everyone else that didn't take that step. Friendly? Absolutely. Efficient no matter if there's 3-4 customers waiting or 8-10... absolutely terrible. read more

Went to get a pub sub, my usual order and halfway through making it they tell me that their toaster doesn't work and there's no way they can heat it up. Half the toppings I get don't go in the toaster. They didn't let me know ahead of time or I would've ordered something else. Now when I get home, I'm going to have to heat it up somehow and the lettuce will be bad. Sucks. I should have just said never mind then and wasted their product but felt guilty. Should have left or got refunded. Don't have these issues at other locations. It's not their fault the machine doesn't work, but they could've let me know. read more

I recently had surgery so instead of being able to go in the store I ordered a sub on the Publix app. What I ordered was a hot sub whole. Someone went in and got it for me because again I could not go in. They charged the person picking it up for the whole hot sub I ordered, but what they actually fixed was a different sub and only a half inch. The person nice enough to pick it up for me did not know any better, but Publix should have known what they were getting paid for and what was on the receipt did not match the size or type of sub that was being picked up. I don't normally feel obligated to write a review about a major grocery store chain, but I have to do it. You feel like this Publix is going to be really well stocked because it's close to the island and bigger than the island version. But that is not the case. I love to make Mexican food. And there's several items that I buy that are frequently sold out or sad looking, CONSISTENTLY. Cilantro. About half the time I need it, regular cilantro is sold out -- I am "forced" to buy organic cilantro -- if they have it (I struck out twice at least once and I was fuming). Jalapenos. How do you sell out of these? They are either sold out or there are a few sad looking ones. This happens about 25 percent of the time I am looking for them. Same applies to serrano peppers. Avocados are so rock hard, they take 3-4 days to ripen and even then you just might miss that hour interval between good and bad. Dill? You want dill? Wrong grocery store. Deli counter "lost" my order one time out of 6 times thus far, and overall about a 40 percent chance of having the order wrong. Another time, they made their own substitution (ordered Black Forest turkey and got ham instead). And another time they were missing a component entirely. Tiny fresh mozzarella balls in water, ciliegine, good luck. The wine selection is much better at the Publix on the island. For a Rose drinking part of the country, there's not a lot whole of pink to choose from. But at least checkout is usually fast / easy and they always have baggers. read more

The Publix Pharmacy at Cobblestone under Linda Dumas is the best. The entire staff is always very fast, professional and courteous. Linda Dumas is amazing as a Pharmacist and that is why I shop there. Eddie and Patrick are pretty cool too. read more

well is goes without saying that all Publix Supermarkets are awesome. This one was no less than stellar. While perusing the seafood market my friend & I were greeted by the employee who works behind the counter. He told us about the new crab meat they had just got in and even gave both of us a huge piece to try. It was AWESOME. He even gave us the sticker with the information on the calories & cholesterol it contains. The store was clean and as with every Publix the seafood market didn't have that horrible fishy smell that other grocery stores have. A definate A+++++. read more

Publix? What is wrong with this company?? Why do they not have one here in NC? There is no grocery store chain that can compare to it. The Deli/Bakery has won many "Best of..." awards in the city and I can see why. There is a great selection of produce (Seems like they always have the freshest in season selections). The store brand products taste like name brand products to me. They must be in the back changing the labels. I am hoping that I can talk them into taking the Walmart gift cards I have because I sure do not want to buy groceries at Walmart! read more

Horrible prices for mediocre products. Customers pay higher prices for employees to walk elderly people's groceries to their cars - which although is nice, it's truly unnecessary when it makes everything in the store cost $2 more on average. The higher prices also reflect the store's choice to have two baggers at each check-out station. I'd rather grow my own food than pay $300 per week for two people to eat. read more

Thank you Publix staff for the help. I found everything I needed. When I had a question the bakery meat and fish departures all had kind people to answer them. They have a serious problem in the sandwich making and hot food area. I always see customers waiting it seems an eternity to get their order taken. I know they have a person dedicated to making the phone orders, but how about us poor saps waiting three deep to get waited on? Who's helping us? This is a management problem. They need to staff accordingly. I've seen customers walk away. They can't wait forever. Hey Deli Manager...Hey Store Manager... remove your heads from your butts. Get these areas working correctly. I usually do all my grocery shopping at Publix, however I typically shop at the Publix further south on US1. I was in the area and decided to swing in and give this place a shot, and boy oh boy, what a difference!!! This Publix is FANTASTIC! I know it was built fairly recently, and it really shows. There is a HUGE parking lot out front, and I had no problem getting in and out. The store is well stocked, and very, very clean. The Seafood and Deli areas were incredible, huge selection of very fresh foods, and a lot of employees behind the counter making sure everyone was taken care of. There is also a HUGE bakery area serving up fresh hot bread, the french bread was delicious!!! The produce area was pretty nice, a lot of fresh fruits and veggies, and some nice looking fruit bowls!!! One of the other nice things about Publix supermarkets is that they offer a LOT of products with their names on it, sodas, chips, different foods, and they're a LOT cheaper than name brands, and I really can't taste the difference. So if you look for Publix brand items, you can really save yourself a lot of dough. There's only a few small reasons why I gave this Publix 4 stars instead of 5. First off, the beer selection is pretty weak. They have most of the major brands you're looking for, but other Publix's have huge aisles with lots of selections... Not here. Also, I noticed the prices on bottled water, sodas, and some snacks are AMAZINGLY expensive at Publix. I generally will buy my water and sodas at Target, then get the rest of my groceries at Publix, I save a lot more doing that for my shopping. But of course, the rest of their prices are very good, so if you don't want to make different stops, you can get everything you're looking for here at this Publix. Overall, though, this is a great place to shop, very calm atmosphere, very clean, and you can find everything you're looking for. read more

This place is always very busy it's very hard to get in and out even the parking lot. And sometimes it takes you an hour to get a sub. In the deli they mess up a lot! And some of the workers are just very mean this place has gone very downhill. read more

My wife got some limited edition chipotle turkey breast salad from that store on Saturday. She had some of it on Sunday and by Monday she was not doing well ; she said while at work she was smelling it , until she threw it up! Do not get it. Could not get her to go to the ER! She is not doing great now , but I did call the number to figure out how to try and help her. Got some Gatorade . They said she was going to need it . Not going into to much info. read more

Shopping here is not really a pleasure. Their deli service is awful. I always order Boar's Head Black Forest smoked turkey and they give me ham instead. I was so happy when they introduced their online ordering system, but this doesn't seem to make a difference. Last week they gave me ham, today they gave me ham. This has been happening for years. I'm starting to think they hate me or the employees are messing stuff up on purpose so they can keep the mistakes. If I had to give a percentage, I'd say they give me the wrong product about 50% of the time. I can't imagine I am the only person this happens to. They are always so sorry when I bring it to their attention and they will correct my order but that doesn't relieve my frustration or give me back the time they wasted. I would also imagine that the cost of food waste effects the prices of everything else in the store. read more

I've always loved Publix. Their customer service has always been above reproach. When I moved I changed location from Moultrie Square to Cobblestone. While the customer service has never been on the same level as Moultrie Square, it was at least adequate. However, my opinion has changed and I will never step foot in that place again. I will have to drive farther to shop at Moultrie but it will be worth it since I will not have bag "boys" squeezing my Philly cheese steak sub so much that I literally had to scrape the cheese off the paper back onto the sandwich. He also put the grocery bag directly underneath the top basket so I forgot it when I transferred the two bags I put in the top basket to my car. I called when I got home but the woman said they didn't find it. I went back to the store to repurchase the items but thought I would ask one of the managers standing at the front of the store. When I started to ask if they had found it she held one finger up to shush me and started looking around as if searching for someone. I was so angry at her rudeness I just left the store vowing that I would not be back. read more

I have nothing against the store itself. This review is for the Deli- IT IS THE WORST!!!! 1st off, I'm stopping in before I head into work. 2nd- I'm third person in line and 2 behind me. 3rd- 5 people working in the deli section, 4 of them are slicing, bagging or weighing pounds of cold cuts, only 1 person is waiting on customers. In any NORMAL situation, the people doing the side jobs of weighing, should have stopped and helped out until the rush abated, then went back to their cutting & weighing. All I needed was a 1/2 pound of chicken (which they never carry in the prepackaged sections). Needless to say, I walked away (nothing in hand) & headed to work after waiting for 15 minutes because they were STILL waiting on the first person. Step up your game Deli, learn how to deal with rushes, instead of saying "We be right with you"--- NO YOU WON'T, STOP LYING! I would like to say that neither I nor my family will be shopping at this store ever again even if my life depended on it. We formerly shopped at the Moultrie Square Publix but it was apparently decided that store should be closed for renovations, so I and my neighbors are forced to travel to this store. This store is completely not ready to handle the amount of traffic it is now receiving from 1000+ extra people visiting. The store is very narrow and cramped, and there are displays that block main aisles so that only one person can pass at a time (seems like a fire hazard to me...) Frankly, I don't care if apple pie is on sale - I'm just trying to get by without running into anyone. There is often merchandise missing, and instead of stocking that spot on the shelf, an item next to it is shoved in it's spot to make it look like it's full. The seafood is often poor quality and I will usually have to ask for help at the butcher counter as even basic cuts of meat are not in the displays. The parking lot is also extremely cramped and dangerous; it took 2 weeks of everybody relocating to this store before someone got hit by a car. At my old store, I could run in for a couple of items and be done. Now, it takes a long time and a headache to just grab a few things, not to mention a much further drive. The manager is also unhelpful. The only employees I have found helpful are the ones who used to work at the Moultrie Square Publix before it closed and have been transferred here while it's renovated; anybody else is almost useless. All that being said, I will be taking my business to Target and Winn Dixie, despite being even further away than this Publix, just to avoid the horrible experience until the new Moultrie Square store opens next year... and I pray that it doesn't take any tips from this store! read more
