First, Aldi's pricing, and the quality of their store brands gets all five stars from me. But as someone who buys a lot of fresh produce, I'm learning there's a trade-off there. Too often the fruits and vegetables I buy go off soon after I've bought them. More troubling is how often they've already gone off by the time I get them. So far instacart, who does my shopping, has been decent about refunding those items, as long as I take photos to prove I'm not making this up. All good things! Store is clean, many of good organic buys available, great wine selection. They also carry 2 DOCG wines! For a fraction of the price elsewhere. Service is neutral the people that ring you up are usually short on words but still polite. The store is a nice switch from Publix, also BYOB (bring your own bag) they charge you for their paper bags. read more

Aldi has it all at fair prices. Bring your own bags and ring yourself helps save u money. I really like this store. The only thing I don't like is when they are out on the floor stocking when people are trying to shop. Bad policy and dangerous someone could get hurt. This has always been a nice Aldi and since they finished the renovations it's become even nicer. I believe they carry a little bit more variety, and are slightly better stocked, at this location than other locations in the general area. I always find something new to try or something that has come back again in the "Aldi Finds" area. I do have my "staples" that I get at Aldi as well. Especially since we used to live in Germany and can get certain items similar here at Aldi that we did there in Germany. It is nice to have the extras and/or more variety, but the prices on some things are higher than the other Aldi's...like milk is $2.26 a gallon instead of $1.99 at other locations for example. I have no idea why that is the case here, but no matter how you slice it...it's cheaper than Publix! It can sometimes be interesting to check out since the aisles don't line up with the checkout stations. I guess my pet peeve about this place is that you have folks waiting in line forever, then they really don't know which way to go when they are trying to check out. Some arrows on the floor would go a llloooonnnnggg way! Then when they are really busy, a new cashier will open and instead of making it a point to approach, or wave, someone over that has been waiting forever they just say they'll take the next person...and someone comes out of nowhere that hasn't been waiting...whoa! It upsets people, and the employees know what they are doing, did and can clearly see what is happening. Older and/or elderly folks that are not capable of zooming over there end up on the short end of the stick (for a lack of a better term). It's sad to watch (and if you say something...no results). They could definitely improve this process and be more compassionate. Other than this, the staff is normally pretty friendly and often the folks stocking the shelves will ask if you need help finding something or are readily available for questions. The parking lot can be interesting, but this is not the fault of Aldi since it's been there awhile. Be aware of the quirky one-ways at the end of the lot because "near misses" happen all the time. If you've never shopped at an Aldi, then please note you'll need to bring your own bags. They do have boxes available sometimes, but don't count on it. It's no problem to just use the cart to take things to your vehicle. You will also need a quarter to get a cart, then you get it back when you return the cart. (Yes, it's the same way in Europe, but they use a Euro coin.) read more

We love this store. Between the German goodies, great potato chips, amazing meats it's a no brainer.

Some thing has to change each and every time I go into this store it is filthy the registers are always dirty the floors are never kept clean from morning till night I have been in there all hours . The shelves are never wiped down when they refill them you see dust and dirt from many times before. I've watch other shopper place things into other bags before they get to the checkout so they don't have to pay for more even though it is stealing they don't care . Since the removale of the cashiers the service is at the bottom of the list and no one bothers to help customers anymore shame it's gone on this long . I've walked in and seen blood under the chicken racks and also under the meay racks these are vacuum sealed packages and there should be no blood or liquid anywhere read more

Love Aldi! Their produce is super fresh and a fraction of the price we pay for fresh produce at the "big box grocers" here in St. Augustine, Florida. Aldi's wines are also fabulous and they offer a huge a variety - We especially enjoy their German Gluhwein offered during the holidays. read more

I am a new shopper at Aldi and there are a few things I like as well as dislike. Pros: -cheaper food items (6 pack of bagels for $1.50!!!) - clean stores - ecofriendly (no bags) Cons: some items are limited - you do have to put a quarter in to get a shopping cart (you get it back upon return) Don't get the bacon! It's sold as "irregular slices" and I kid you not, maybe 10% of the product was edible. read more

This is the only Aldi store in St Augustine. The store was remodeled a few month ago. It's bright and clean and well stocked. The store is big and the aisles are nice and wide. Staff are always so friendly and very quick and efficient at checkout. The produce is fresh and displayed in boxes. You can get most everything you might need grocery wise here. You won't find very many name brand products. Aldi has their own private label products manufactured to their specifications that mimic major brand name manufacturers. They do carry a few brand name products that compliment their products. Aldi is based in Germany and the store features a lot of European products that incorporate better quality ingredients. You can spend a lot of time going up and down the aisles looking at all the interesting items. We come here to shop 2 or 3 times a week. Prices are reasonable and they always have good specials. Bring your own grocery bags and a quarter for your shopping cart. I highly recommend this store. read more

ALDI is a great alternative to the larger super market chains reasonably affordable. My go to place to shop for necessities. I like how they have the quarter cart system that saves money and keeps the parking lot clutter free. By not offering paper or plastic bags they lessen their carbon foot print. On the customer level I have changed my behavior to carry reusable cloth bags. On a good day you can find 80% of the food you are looking for. But it being a bulk discount store I often go to Publix down the road to purchase smaller quantity items. My cashier Kaitlyn was great answered all my questions and remembered my name. They close earlier then most grocery chains which makes it difficult come after work. This Aldi is a bit smaller then the Southside Blvd location which offers a larger selection of specialty items. HELLO FRIEND! Yes Honey, if there is an Aldi nearby, I will sniff it out. We stumbled upon this Aldi while looking for another store. It appears to be relatively new and is located in a newer shopping center along with Marshalls and Ross. At the time that we noticed it, it was closed so we returned the following day. Seeing this store was like seeing an old familiar friend because I knew that I would be able to get the fruit and snacks that I could not find elsewhere. They always have my ideal snacks (sweet potato chips, popcorn, and almonds), that are lower in fat and salt. Also, I was able to grab some of their oranges as well which I love to eat as is or in a smoothie along with their fresh spinach. I prefer to have these snacks available when traveling so that I am not tempted to eat too much of the "forbidden fruit." Customer service here was polite and fast. Check it out! read more

Man, oh man, what a great job they did remodeling this place! The store finally has a fresh look and feel, and the drab colors and tiny aisles have been replaced with bright colors, new signage, and big, wide aisles!!!! I have loved shopping at Aldi since my first visit- the money I save here on fresh produce and meats is amazing. Bare bones, no-frills, just get what you need and go. It takes a few visits to get the whole process down, but once you do, it is definitely worth it. The selection is pretty impressive for the small space they have to work with- a few name brands but mostly Aldi private brands which are as good, if not better than the big companies products. Parking can sometimes be an issue- this place can be VERY popular at times, so be patient or be prepared to walk. Don't forget your quarter and reusable bags! Sometimes I can get frustrated- even with the improvements the aisles can get very full, and you can get stuck behind people who take a while to get what they need. Be patient, the prices are worth it. Saved so much shopping here and will continue to make it part of my weekly shopping routine! Noice. read more

I shop almost exclusively at Aldi. I say almost because they don't have everything and their inventory also changes a little with each visit. To be honest, these downsides turned me off a little. It wasn't until my regular store closed to remodel that I truly understood the magic of Aldi. When buying as much there as I can, I easily save half what I do at my old store. Half. That's a lot. And!! While almost everything there is a store brand, there has been very little that I have not been completely satisfied with. Nowadays, I start at Aldi. I go through each aisle (doesn't take long as the store isn't large) and grab everything I need. I still visit my old store for some brand-name things my family really loves and when they have good BOGO promotions - but Aldi is still cheaper than the old store's BOGOs sometimes! Give it a try. European chocolates, German Christmas bakery, European canned fish, great frozen food section, the prices and selection is great. Just wish they had a bigger store. The location is right on Ponce de Leon with lots of parking and other great stores. The reason they are so cheap is that everything is in boxes and it's not like a regular Supermarket with high prices, Music, baggers, etc. No middle man. read more

Great selection, great prices. I was surprised how good the wines are. Gluten free dried onions, European chocolate, sweet potato chips, prosciutto, Sauerkraut, even some stuff for gardening. The location is excellent as well. Hope they open up more locations, so I don t have to drive so far. read more

Thankful that a low-cost European style supermarket finally hit Florida to give us variety (aka not being a victim of publix prices). I'm a huge fan of the ALDI style because I would rather the price of my groceries reflect only necessary business costs - Not having excessive baggers and paying the salary of someone to offer to walk my groceries to my car can get quite pricey. The long standing absence of a variety in grocers in the south east has been horrible up until recently and I am happy for publix no longer having the monopoly. read more

Though you may hit some traffic getting into St. Augustine, the selection of produce and meat is worth the drive. There's more parking here compared to Southside. This place is more stocked, too. read more

Thankful to have an Aldi's located in St. Augustine for my children who live there, however, this Aldi's is very different then any Aldi's I have experienced. Concerned about the parking lot and people perusing, circling parking lot trying to take carts back to snatch quarters? We live in NC and have never had the energy that is associated with this location. Center is clean, but there is something that is steering my girls with young children away from their market. Aldi's would be wise to take a look at energy in this area and store. Once in store there is same Aldi's quality, but not well stocked, a smaller store by our standards. We are serious Aldi's shoppers in NC, but here in St. Augustine they are missing their mark. My girls with their babies do not shop at this store, and I totally get it. Not like the Aldi's I am used to frequenting in North Carolina. Needs a bit of polishing from outside in. read more

Aldo market has been my place to shop for a long time, both in Michigan and Florida. The one problem I have is the one Electric cart. It fine until its broken , I am unable to shop w/o it and now going on 4 days I have had to resort to shopping at Save a lot. I hope that in the further there will be more than one cart available. read more
