Currie Bros produce is ridiculously inexpensive and the quality is high (as in better than your favorite Publix). Lots of locally grown produce. Owner is great and friendly. It took me a few visits to realize that there are plastic bags hanging everywhere for you to put your goods in. As far as I can tell -- CASH ONLY. But you can stock up an entire week's worth of veggies for less than $20.

This is a small, open-air, locally owned business that specializes in produce, and I've been in…read morehere regularly for years now. The featured fruit and vegetables are organized in baskets or stacks, and the varieties change with the seasons. When you're here, you'll interact with the owner, who's a lot of fun to chat with. He explained to me once how the produce comes from different parts of the country as the seasons change. When things are growing in Florida, the bulk of it comes from there. As it gets hotter here and the plants wither, the produce starts coming in from Georgia, North Carolina, etc., before it cools off again here. Other vegetables (like celery) are wrapped up like you find in the grocery. They clearly haven't come straight from the farm, which may dispel the farm stand look a bit, but I actually find it a helpful convenience. It's VERY nice when I'm coming in with a recipe in mind, and I DON'T have to go navigate Winn-Dixie or Publix for that one last thing I need. Currie Brothers almost always has a supply of local honey available as well. This is a nice stop overall. You can get your veggies and fruit at Currie Brothers, pick up some fresh seafood from Kyle's Seafood next door, and if you're lucky to be there on a day they're open, grab some fresh baked bread from the bakery next door.

She let us try the daily lemonade flavors which were all quite unique, we all got our lemonades and omg I'm in love with the guava/lemonade topped with blueberries, rosemary and a pasta straw! It was super refreshing! We just moved to the area & it was great learning about the history of the shop and other surrounding facts. We bought some herbs and we'll be back to get plants once I've got time to tend to them as moves can be very hectic and I'm still getting settled. I'm bringing all our plant loving friends to this cute lil shop with a cool vibe that very much reminded me of Key West. Try their lemonades! They have quite a bit of local produce but things not produced in the region or out of season are shipped in from elsewhere, just like any other grocery. The citrus, peppers, squash, and potatoes selection was especially good (in early Decemeber) and they have local cane syrup (from two different producers!), honey, and jams, jellies, and more. Of course, also fresh eggs and Nettles' sausage, as well. Supposedly when it's watermelon season this is THE place to come for your watermelon!

This has always been a nice Aldi and since they finished the renovations it's become even nicer. I…read morebelieve they carry a little bit more variety, and are slightly better stocked, at this location than other locations in the general area. I always find something new to try or something that has come back again in the "Aldi Finds" area. I do have my "staples" that I get at Aldi as well. Especially since we used to live in Germany and can get certain items similar here at Aldi that we did there in Germany. It is nice to have the extras and/or more variety, but the prices on some things are higher than the other Aldi's...like milk is $2.26 a gallon instead of $1.99 at other locations for example. I have no idea why that is the case here, but no matter how you slice it...it's cheaper than Publix! It can sometimes be interesting to check out since the aisles don't line up with the checkout stations. I guess my pet peeve about this place is that you have folks waiting in line forever, then they really don't know which way to go when they are trying to check out. Some arrows on the floor would go a llloooonnnnggg way! Then when they are really busy, a new cashier will open and instead of making it a point to approach, or wave, someone over that has been waiting forever they just say they'll take the next person...and someone comes out of nowhere that hasn't been waiting...whoa! It upsets people, and the employees know what they are doing, did and can clearly see what is happening. Older and/or elderly folks that are not capable of zooming over there end up on the short end of the stick (for a lack of a better term). It's sad to watch (and if you say something...no results). They could definitely improve this process and be more compassionate. Other than this, the staff is normally pretty friendly and often the folks stocking the shelves will ask if you need help finding something or are readily available for questions. The parking lot can be interesting, but this is not the fault of Aldi since it's been there awhile. Be aware of the quirky one-ways at the end of the lot because "near misses" happen all the time. If you've never shopped at an Aldi, then please note you'll need to bring your own bags. They do have boxes available sometimes, but don't count on it. It's no problem to just use the cart to take things to your vehicle. You will also need a quarter to get a cart, then you get it back when you return the cart. (Yes, it's the same way in Europe, but they use a Euro coin.)
