Not being from the Midwest, I had never heard of Von Maur but I wondered in because I was curious!. It's very lovely and they had decorated for the holidays. Unfortunately, I did not see a live piano player on the first floor but the piano was there and they had lovely piano music throughout the store. They have numerous departments with many fine offerings in apparel, cosmetics, accessories, and more. I didn't see any home goods which I would have enjoyed as well but it's not a huge store. I'm not sure if that's offered at any other location but maybe 1 day, it'll be added. I also wish they had a larger selection of petites but at least they have that section! Let's talk about price... There are a lot of mid range (nice but not outrageous) designer brands. You can easily spend over $100 on a pair of jeans or $200 on a dress or coat. BUT, they also have sales (I saw a lot of 30% off on some brands) and they have sale racks with markdowns. By wondering around I figured out there's 2 levels of sales racks. One is a first mark down. Here you'll find the $160 jeans for $80-$125 (as an example), but there's also a second section of mark down racks in the departments (usually 2-3 racks) with a second mark down. Here I found a $120 dress for $35 as an example. I think while it's definitely a more expensive, luxury brand place, there are some more budget friendly options. Everything I bought that night was on sale. AND I found a pen mark on a dress I really wanted that was on double mark down. The incredibly nice sales lady in the department walked the dress all the way upstairs to the alterations department and they all tried to get the mark out for me. She was equally attentive to me as a customer buying a $35 dress as one that cost $200. Even when she could not get the mark out, she helped me decide on another one from the sales rack that was also $35. I really loved that and when I need that $200 dress, I'll go back to Von Maur and when I want to have fun buying a few super sale dresses, pants, etc, I'll also go back to Von Maur because they valued me no matter what my budget was that night! I wish I had gotten her name. Just in case, she was around 5'3-5'4, shoulder length blonde hair, and was wearing a cute set from the store which I want to go back and get now. lol she was working in the downstairs juniors and women's department area on the night of 11/29/25. She is great! Make sure you treat her well! All the sales associates I encountered were terrific. Another one helped me open my interest free card. We closed down the store that night but were never made to feel as if we had to rush out even though we were respectful and paid and left right after they closed. I went up and down some aisles in the organization area, and also the women's clothing and beauty products. I wanted to see how their pricing was in comparison to Walmart. I have a Walmart subscription for at home delivery so I was comparing prices overall. I was actually surprised to find that Target was very close to Walmart prices if not almost exact. I do think their home decor section is more expensive and it's the same quality. I ended up purchasing three totes of various sizes that were reasonable. I went to a checkout that actually had a worker. There seem to be only about three people that did check out and the rest of it was self check out, similar to Walmart. The service was good and friendly. I would definitely go back based on this visit when I have more time to look throughout the store.

The parking lot is still a massive disaster IMO, especially with how it bottlenecks at the entrance, though to be fair to them, I'm not sure what else they could do to fix it. What does work here is that the lot is huge so you'll at least find a spot, even if it's a tad bit stressful getting in and out. Now, why bump my rating up to four stars? Primarily because they've done a really excellent job of continuing to improve this location. Everytime Target seems to come out with a redesign this spot gets it pretty fast, and not only do they implement it seamlessly but all redesigns seem to really work here. Now, this Target is no longer my primary Target, but I do still visit here from time to time and one other thing it has going for it is that I feel like I have fewer issues here in general. It could be the nature of me not coming here as frequently, but I can't think of a time that I've had a negative interaction with a staff member, them being out of stock with something, or waiting too long at checkout. Overall, once you get past the parking, I think this is a very solid Target, and it's super conveniently located once you pop off of the highway as well.
