Just a quick run to get an item, one. I got in line because my rewards wasn't showing up that I'd added to my rewards card. Both the cashier and Jody tried to advise me on the steps and I was familiar with it but for some reason I kept getting an error, try again messaging. I went ahead with my purchase. I actually had to return because I purchased the wrong item and this time around I felt the exchange was made difficult than it needed to be. Additionally the cashier was extremely impatient while I looked for my electronic receipt. read more

Staff is RACIST, very rude & disrespectful. I called left a voicemail, & 10 minutes later when the employee returned my call she had a very nasty attitude, I had questions she kept rudely interrupting me then got smart placed me on hold then came back to the phone 2 minutes later & hung up LOUDLY in my face she slammed the phone down! I'll spend my hard earned money where I'm appreciated! I will find out here name today! Customer service these days has gone to crap this is ridiculous! Smh read more

Why is customer service so poor at this CVS? Plenty of staff at the pharmacy but honestly, why is everything so complicated?

I have never had a very bad experience at this location. The pharmacy is very accommodating and relatively quick; they always answer the phone and will get important prescriptions filled when you need it most. Though, I do wish they were still open on Saturdays - but I assume something happened to cause them to do that. The only real issue I see is with parking, but there isn't much they can do about that. read more

This little CVS is great. For being a downtown location they have everything you need in addition to quick and excellent customer service.

Unfortunately, this is my closest CVS. The main issue is there is NO PARKING. They should find a way to reserve a couple of spaces on 9th street with 10 minute parking for prescription pick up. Also, not the cleanest CVS that I have ever been to. read more

I've only had pleasant experience here, my only complaint is that I wish the actual pharmacy would stay open as long as the store. Sometimes we need to pickup our prescriptions later in the evening. The store is well stocked and staff is always friendly. They also allow dogs to go inside with you, which I strongly value. I like the ability to walk my dog and run errands at the same time. Highly recommend reading the kilometer receipt as CVS does a great job at providing coupons for everyday items,.. and not to forget their rewards. read more

Employee went on break during the transaction and didn't scan my discount that I got in the mail. Thank God that Micah the manager took over and I told him. I could easily give this location 3 to 5 stars for convenience and familiar staff alone as every trip is likely to be different. It seems to be a lot of new employees and store manager since the new remodel. read more

This is the worst CVS location in the city and their pharmacy just shuts down whenever they want! Parking is inconvenient enough to then go in and find they decided to close the pharmacy for the day. read more

Convenient location in downtown KC at 10th & Main. Recent remodel has helped open up the space a bit from the previous layout. The biggest downfall at this location is the line to check out. There are usually not enough employees working, so the wait can be lengthy at times. read more

The CVS that almost wasn't! This location was set to be closed a few of years ago but was saved by the heroic actions of the Downtown Council. Given the age of the building and the fact that a lot of homeless people do come in here, you'd think it would be pretty run down. But it was remodeled a couple of years ago and is very well maintained, so looks just as good as any of their suburban locations. The staff are courteous and friendly, which is impressive given some of the customers they have to deal with on a daily basis. I especially appreciate the pharmacy, where they know me by name and get my prescriptions ready when they see me walk in the door. :) One of the perks about living in Missouri is that just about any kind of store can sell liquor. This CVS has several brands of beer available in the cold vault and a well-stocked liquor aisle. Oh, and don't worry about any homeless people in the store. They are rarely any trouble, and when they are, they are dealt with promptly and discretely. By the way despite the hours for the rest of the store, the pharmacy closes at 6pm during the week, 2pm on Saturday, and is not open on Sunday. read more

This is an update for those interested in the upcoming closing of the downtown CVS store for repairs. I asked one of clerks a couple of days ago when the store was closing for upgrades. She told me March the 14th and reopening around the 15th of june. Nothing has been posted yet at the store that i could see giving people a heads up about this. I would say due to the history of these things that the 15th of june is wish full thinking though.! Another update 03-13-18- once again they are telling people another closing date- the 28th of march? maybe, i really think CVS management in charge of these closings don't know when it is going to happen- go to the store one of these days and i guess it will actually be closed and who knows when it will re-open. STILL NOT CLOSED BUT THAT IS PENDING! read more

Four words. Children of the Corn. I've all but stopped coming here unless I happen to walk by and need something. It's hit or miss with the people who shop here but after seeing more than my fair share of people who should aspire to be degenerates of society (a step up), I'm pretty scared. Ignoring the lovely clientle, the hours just suck. It closes at 7 pm on weekdays and even earlier on weekends. The pharmacy closes at 6 pm on weekdays and is only open a few hours in the morning on Saturday. This leaves me thinking downtown residents aren't important. I probably would go there more often despite the lovely shoppers if they had more reasonable hours (personally, I do some of my best shopping after 6 pm). Two stars because as limited as the hours are and as much as a scene set as this could be for Children of the Corn, it still is the only drug store walkable for Rivermarket/downtown/Crossroad residents, and you know, we need our drugs too! read more

Do you live downtown? Do you need a Mountain Dew, pantyhose and the latest Us Weekly? And would you like all of this AND the chance to check your blood pressure? Then why not try CVS? What do I say about a CVS to differentiate it from any of the other locations? Well, the major difference between this location and other stores are the TERRIBLE hours. Seriously, it is an urban, middle of downtown CVS and closes at 7pm on the weekdays and even earlier on the weekend. Weaksauce. But other than that, I really like this CVS! The employees are all really friendly, they're always great in a pinch if I need to pick of toothpaste or whatnot, and I like having a downtown pharmacy. The store is generally clean, and while it definitely attracts some characters, I've always felt safe. It's not one of those stores that seems to be on lockdown, where you have to go find an employee to help you get razor blades or whatnot. For a CVS, it's A-OK. I just wish the hours were better. read more

I have had a CVS Pharmacy card for almost 20 years. Over that time I forgot what number it was attached not once in all those years did any associate bother to ask for my email and update my phone number lol. I never even knew you could until your kind associate (multi-color hair one) took the time to listen and fix my problem I had to leave Philadelphia and go to KC to fix a simple shopping card. Thanks you guys rocked hence the five stars. read more

Alright, so compared to other CVS stores, this one is not exactly a shining example. It's dark with low ceilings and an uneven floor. Sometimes the customers in here are...different. BUT. It's the only drugstore downtown and massive effort was made to KEEP it downtown. So I'm extremely thankful that I have a place available close by to get my drugs and my Tums. They also have a small food and refrigerated section. I don't ever get anything there, not that there's a need anymore with Cosentino's down the street now. But I guess if you need some canned chili in a pinch, you can find it at CVS. I do wish the hours were better. They close early during the week, 6 or 7 and even earlier on Saturday. And I don't think they're open on Sunday. But given what a lot of the customers look like, I suppose they don't want to be open at night for safety reasons. read more

It's CVS, so you know right away what to expect. It's mostly overpriced, the selection is so-so, and the lines are usually long. That said, this is a great thing to have downtown. The prices could be lower. The selection could be better. The lines could be shorter. But it's here. It's open on weekends. Maybe not for as long as people would like, but for the downtown of today, the hours make sense. I have been to a number of cities, some much larger than Kansas City, (Dallas for example), where NO drugstore was open on weekends at all in downtown. That's why it gets four stars. read more

this cvs gets the job done, but the customer service here is sub par. I only come here because it's less than a minute away from home and the pharmacy is semi tolerable. The staff here is not the nicest, but the main pharmacist would occasionally make small talk with you if she's in a good mood. They are definitely not friendly on the phone; I used to work in a pharmacy in high school, I understand how their job sucks. But there's not really a good reason to be mean to the customers unless they are bitchy in the first place. Lots of interesting characters here. I generally avoid coming here because parking can be a pain during weekdays. I park on grand and 9th right in front of scooter's most of the time-free 15 minute parking. I usually can get in an out fairly quickly. read more

If you live downtown and need some thing or item in a jiffy, CVS is your place. They have a little bit of everything. Its a mini grocery store, a hardware store, a really great pharmacy, and somewhat of a Dollar General of sorts. If you go down the isles, in very inconspicuous spots - clearance, discontinued, and dollar items. They seem to always have a LOT of candy and bad things on clearance. Not that I am trying to influence anyone to eat bad or be unhealthy. The hours of the CVS on the other hand, are a fit to be tied as we say in the South. It is closes at seven on the weekdays. Even earlier on the weekends. The customer service is great. The pharmacists provide a wellness clinic type of feel. They take the time to really hear your concerns and figure out what is the best for you. Ms. Cora, who works the early shift up front is a combination of your aunt, grandmother, and best friend. She is always friendly, smiling, and attentive. She knows the store like the back of her hand, no matter how obscure the request is for a pharmacy. She makes you feel like you need to be there, almost like your favorite bartender. The parking is off street, but right up front most of the time. Great in cold weather or raining because they have an awning of sorts. If I could get them to stay open later. Not all emergencies happen before 7 p.m. read more

One of the worst pharmacies ever. Honestly doesn't care about you at all as long as they get paid. Only have me a 30 day supply of my medicine instead the the usual 90, then charged me full price because the say my insurance only covers 90 day supples. The also didn't mention that they only gave me a 30 day supply instead of a 90. So I didn't notice till.i got home. I also paid MORE for the 30 day supply than what I would have paid for the 90. Absolute joke. Will not be going back again. read more

Good store, I like shopping here. Gets you through the lines pretty quick with minimal wait time.

I love the convenient location. If you are a regular shopper, you can find sale prices the same as grocery stores.

This is not a rock star CVS. However, I'm very thankful to have it downtown. If you're a regular, the staff that has worked there for any period of time will remember you and treat you very kindly. The pharmacy staff is especially awesome. One might seem a little bit rough around the edges at first but give her the benefit of the doubt, be kind and appreciative to her and she pays it back ten fold. The store hours could be better and the line at the front checkouts can be frustrating at times but compared to the alternative of no downtown pharmacy, then it's not that big of a deal. read more

I have had excellent service the few times I have been here. Etta and the lady at the pharmacy stand out to me. Friendly, helpful employees. read more

I love this CVS. I live right across the street and I'm here several times a week. It's not the fanciest CVS out there, but it's incredibly useful to have in the central business district. For those of us who work or have condos down here it's a godsend. Plus, the staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. A+. read more

I have shopped at this CVS well over 20 years and I hope it never closes. I have directed many K.C. visitor's to CVS, wondering around trying to find snacks or just everyday uses on a weekend so they don't have to buy at the hotels and pay more than usual. The staff is always helpful and if the lines get long during lunch, they all step up and help. There must be a good manager because the staff rarely changes and they treat you like family. It could use a little update interior and sprucing up but its clean. Thank you CVS for your service to our community! read more

I stopped in last week to pick up one item and they were still overcharging. The item rang up higher than the price posted on the shelf. Keep an eye on them. I wonder if they are doing it on purpose thinking that the clientele in the area won't notice. read more
