Ah Target, the bright eyed, bushy tailed Vanguard and BlackRock owned competition to that big blue chain (FYI you better know those two holders as... well, nevermind). Olathe's Super Target has a huge sprawling parking lot with enough space under one roof to get in a mile of walking, if one were so compelled. Located in a safe and extremely close to most major roads and the interstate, almost anything you need since it's a Super Target. They do have a few employees walking around however you might have to hunt a bit to get them. However once you do, they're extremely willing to assist and friendly. Finally the place is always clean and well stocked with inventory so that's a huge bonus. If you're shopping for clothing, they do a pretty good job of maintaining many different sizes and keeping the clothes in their proper racks. Many other stores you can find the clothes just thrown about. The seasonal selection is decent but runs out pretty quick as they like to get the items in early, then restock only a few times, allowing it to run out well before the holiday. Most items like pet food and accessories are in abundance, hardware and housing goods have most of what someone needs and the kitchen section has a lot of average equipment to great stuff depending on what you need. For example, the knife selection is horrible but mixers are just as good as anywhere else. I do all of my vitamin and specialty medicine (not prescription) from Target as it's the cheapest. As for the food, it has what one has come to expect from Target, average products at a low cost however when it comes to fruit and veggies, they're much better than "mart" place of a "wall". The baked and homemade food items are average but better than that other "blue" store! They do have a pretty good bakery and they're the only one that sells Boston Cream Pie!!! I've also found they're the best for toys as I when I take my kids they have all most popular items and in bulk. So, if you want that GI Joe action figure, you probably will find it here. As for electronics, they have most of the newest gaming consoles, games and controllers however 4k media is limited, but that's a standard among all stores now as physical media continues to be replaced by inferior forms of content like streaming. Overall, Target is exactly what you expect anywhere and that's by design. The only real differences are subtle things that regionally might sell better at one place then another state won't offer a product as it won't make sense. Think of a heavy winter coat for sale in Texas - it isn't needed. Other than those items, it's Target so you already know what you want. This is the best Target around and will definitely save you trips to other stores. read more

This was the best looking target I have seen in awhile minus the bathrooms. It had everything you could think of. The bakery section alone was def something I never seen before. I was impressed. Each team member was very productive on helping which I appreciate. I really enjoyed their clearance section which had some pretty good deals. read more

My husband and I had just started shopping when we were ambushed by a phone sales woman. We were not interested in new phones, but that didn't shop this woman. She stood in the middle of the aile so that we could not get by her without talking. After a couple of minutes I was able to snick down a side aile and get away,but my poor husband was trapped. I was able to walk around the whole store and use the restroom and was ready to leave when I phoned hubby and told him I was headed to the car (she still had him in her clutchs.) As I got to the exit hubby made a break for it and come running. I was surprised she didn't follow him. On 2/11 @ approximately 9:10 pm at the 15345 W 119th St, Olathe location, I experienced the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I followed the directions on how to pick up my order for drive up service. I clicked the "I am here" button and waited in my car for my order. I was able to see the code 7076 after clicking that button. An employee came out to my car and asked me a name that was not me. There were two cars including mine that were in that area at that time. Nevertheless, I never received my order. In fact, the app showed that the order was picked up. Had to get out of my car in 10 degree weather to be issued a refund. I was venting my frustration to the employee in the Customer Service Department area (no profanity), and she proceeded to have an attitude when she told me that the store was trying to do their best for how busy it was. There were only two cars in the drive up area and how would she know when she was never outside! The CS offered a $5 gift card. I felt like she was buying me off to pacify me or assuming that I something for free. I refused and told her I only wanted my money back. After inserted my credit card into the card reader, I asked her if the money was returned to the card. She answered with "what are you talking about?" I spoke to the manager of that department to voice my frustration. the manager (Jose) asked me what I wanted to do to make me happy. I told him there was nothing I wanted except my refund, and that I was not there to get anything for free. The manager said he would speak to the team member. Probably one of my favorite Targets in the area, primarily because it's a Super Target. I usually have a decent experience here. The store is generally clean, though they've rearranged a handful of times over the years, so it can be tricky to find the occasional item. I favor going in early, close to opening. It's pretty peaceful and the store is well stocked then. I can look through the store, especially clearance, without having to watch out for other people. It's generally easier to find an employee too, as they're still gearing up for the day. I do go late too, and while it's also not busy, there's a greater chance of empty shelves and having to watch out for stockers. Not a bad thing, unless you're looking for a particular sale item! Also, the cafe isn't a bad place to get homework done. I've gone with a friend after nearby businesses closed - they have free wifi and open tables because the cafe is closed. I wouldn't recommend it all the time, but if you're in a pinch. read more

Anyways, this Super Target was pretty big and if you wanted ice cream, it will be straight ahead in the back from the entrance. The layout of this Super Target was the same as the Super Target near my apartment (grocery section on the right side of the store, pharmacy across from grocery section in the middle, toys in the back middle, clothes in the middle, and electronics in the left front of the store). I stopped by this Target to waste some time before a job interview. The building is stretched out; the aisles seemed to go on forever! I wandered aimlessly around for awhile and ended up finding a really cute owl contact lens case for only $3. Their make-up section and clothes section were neatly organized. I usually love this target most of the employees are wonderful and help to get everyone checked out. Today I was shopping with my partner, we are young. And had some clothes to try on. Immediately stepping into the dressing room area we were stopped by an employee who's name I didn't get to catch but could be Debra Miller, and was commanded "Two people can't go into the dressing room." We weren't even headed into one. The assumption and remark was so rude. I felt like I was in high school. Ive heard she has already had several guest complaints so I hope Target can go over how to kindly ask people to use separate dressing rooms. read more

I find everything that I need and much more at target. Their grocery does seem slightly more expensive than a normal grocery store, but the target brand products are always pretty reasonable. Their stores are always clean as well. This particular store does have a Starbucks in it as well which is always a nice touch. read more

I stopped just about everywhere today looking for a specific item. Target was the only one that annoyed me. I like target. I like a lot of the lines of items they have. I despise the way they have their stores set up. There is no rhyme or reason to their floor plan except to make you wonder around aimlessly in hopes that you will buy more stuff. For example, I was looking for a specific trash can for my kitchen. I looked through the home section, kitchen section, even wondered around the bath section. Finally as I was wondering around aimlessly there the kitchen trashcans were, with the outdoor items, next to grilling accessories. Makes perfect sense! The grocery section, pharmacy/hygiene section, every section is like this. Their layouts are completely different than any store in the world. I have always received good service when checking out, but seldom see a sales rep on the floor (this might help find the things that are stuck in the most ridiculous places.) read more

Awesome, Target! Yep...still a Target. It has all the Target things that you expect. The grocery area is good, at the Archer Farms brand is really quite good. The veggies/fruit are usually OK, but not as good as Hy-Vee or Hen House. The meat area is pretty depressing...not much to offer. As is typical with Target, the lines can be slow and the parking lot can be full of idiots. Really, I'd rather just go to a grocery store for my groceries. Wow, all I can say is...Wow. Customer service lacking. I'm a pretty tolerant person, but I just cannot believe the customer service department here. I've been wronged once too many times and it is for this reason I now write this review. Let me say this first. I generally have a good time at this Target when transactions go right. The checkouts are generally multiple, the cashiers are friendly, and the store kept clean & tidy. The customer service department and management is another matter. In the past year, I've dreaded stepping into the customer service line for a buy one get one half off deal not registering at checkout, a non-receipt return, and today's ordeal. Today, I went in looking into the matter of a double charge on my debit card from Target from yesterday. I asked them if they could investigate what was on both transactions. The lady--already looking irritated from having to be there during the holiday season, doesn't even feign to take a care and says, "Your bank needs to be the one to sort out the matter." I asked again for a print out of the receipt(s) to see if I could determine if these were my charges. She said, "Sir, your bank will help you with that. We can't help you." I left to go to my bank. They were quite a bit helpful in investigating these charges. Target charged me two times. So basically at the point of sale, my card was attempted to be charged, but it was reported "offline" at the time. The problem was that the first transaction went through. A little bit later in the day, the charge was attempted again. It went through...again. I went back to the customer service department. While waiting on the manager to come, the lady from the first visit was chatting with another gal behind the counter. I heard, "Is he trying to get someone else to help him. I helped him already." Anyways, I discovered that the second charge wasn't due for release until Dec. 28. Several days after Christmas. I was just floored that money not owed to Target was removed from my bank and not due to be released until after the holiday. More so that the customer service department just didn't care. I understand that they really can't reverse charges themselves as it is a higher-up accounting department matter. It's a tough season for many in this country, and although we're blessed to be able to scrap by when many aren't, I would have liked to have bought some Christmas gifts for my family. Now, I'll have to explain they'll receive their gifts after Christmas when the money gets returned. read more

This Super Target has been remodeled recently, which resulted in an expansion of the grocery section and the beauty supplies department. Some other sections got moved around to different locations in the store. The store continues to carry all the basic kinds of groceries plus a number of more unusual and "gourmet" or ethnic items, often under its store brand names. If you consume lactose-free milk their store brand is considerably less expensive than at some other markets. Some other recent favorites include their frozen Market Pantry supreme pizza -- a "small" size that's enough for two and quite tasty for only about $3.50. (I improve it before baking by sprinkling it with red pepper flakes and adding some of Target's shredded mozzarella and Parmesan mix). They also have larger refrigerated take-and-bake pizzas that are reasonably priced. Vegeterians will be pleased to find a pretty good selection of Morningstar Farms, Gardein and Quorn items in the freezer section. If you're looking for a good bottled marinara sauce, the Giada brand they carry exclusively just won a San Francisco Chronicle taste test! Otherwise, the store is your standard Target, with inexpensive but nicely designed home goods and clothing. Definitely a cut above WalMart! read more

Really loving the complete renovation going on at this SuperTarget. Heard it should wrap up in the next 2-3 weeks. The entire store has been remodeled, many departments moved, new signage inside & on the outside of the building, brand new shopping carts & much more. The most dramatic change I think is the refrigerated grocery section. Overall the store was redesigned to actually carry more items yet is still what you expect from Target- clean wide aisles & great merchandise!! Glad to see/hear that some of the other stores in Johnson County are being renovated as well. Kudos Target!! read more

This place has done a complete 180 in a matter of a few years. The cashiers don't smile, and the workers that you walk by don't ask if you need any help. Their location is the only thing that I like. It seems like they are always changing out cashiers and they always look upset or gloomy. I hope they get someone in there that changes the attitude of these workers. read more
