HORRIBLE... and I LIKE Walmart. Perhaps I was spoiled by shopping at the 3 newish, clean, and rarely crowded Walmart stores in Santa Clarita, one of which is a Walmart SuperCenter, but this Oxnard store confirms just about every stereotype of Walmart stores, employees, and customers floating around the popular media. Last evening I waited in line for 35 minutes. While this is longer than I have ever waited previously, I cannot ever recall getting in and out of this Walmart without some sort of hassle. The management of this store seems to consider these conditions business as usual, and seem nonplussed when engaged to make a comment about it. At this point the 99 Cent Only store seems better managed than this Walmart. Avoid if possible. read more

This is without a doubt the most poorly managed Walmart I've ever seen. They constantly have twice as many people stocking shelves during business hours as they do cashiers, half of the aisles you can't even get through because they've got pallets two to three hours before the store closes, and the store is constantly a mess. And what the hell is the point of checking out of the register when they're going to sit there and scan half of your items again at the door? It's completely ridiculous you have to wait in line to check out then you have to wait in line to leave the damn store. read more

I don't know why I forget what a horrible store this is but every time I go I am reminded. The parking lot is a nightmare and it gets worse when you go in. I needed large chunk Apple wood for my smoker and it's the only place I have found it. There are unruly kids running amok everywhere. The store is a mess. The only reason I gave it a 2 star was because there was actually a nice older gentleman employee in the paint department that was actually nice and apologized when he told me they didn't have granite cleaner. He actually seemed like he cared unlike any other employee I have ever had contact with. I wish I remembered his name. What a breath of fresh air in a horrible place. I need to find those wood chunks somewhere else. My husband won't even talk to me after I make him to take to this store. Lol!! read more

Walmart Bakery was AMAZING! Their customer service was top notch and I appreciate the consultant taking such a detailed account of the cupcake cake I had planned for my daughter's 10th birthday. (Pinterest gives the best ideas) They brought her pineapple dreams to life with such a beautiful arrangement of cupcakes. Their whipped icing is some of the best I've tasted. Stupid. I do not like this shopping garbage. I actually, am in need of a new television. Unlike, the peons that camped out. I walked into the store and was given the run-around. I grabbed a 32" that I was told was the $148 one, that turned out to be a lie. I was then directed to a line and was told I needed a ticket and was denied a TV. Then, I see people walking off with the 40" TVs, two at-a-time. Seriously? Then, I was given a voucher to purchase, for a 32" that I was told was out of stock. Seriously the worst experience. Ordered one item for curbside pickup. It took more than 30 min and got hung up on once trying to get the delivery. The Store is not Following Safety Healthy Precautions. When you enter to the store there are not Alcohol Sanitaser Cloths Provided to clean The Cars or a Hand Sanitaser Station provided to Use in your hands. Bathrooms are very dirty. Five Star, and you might ask yourself WHY? This Walmart isn't that bad for my type of persona. If you don't like it when it's crowded, the store opens at .....6 AM.....and it's really nice. No body bothers you, it's a complete satisfying hour to shop. This Walmart is and will always be crowded because of its competitive prices. Apparently there is a lot of displeasure aimed towards this Walmart location. Sadly, I don't have much positive things to say either. The parking lot is crowded (you might have a hard time getting a spot here) and lots of people come in and out. In terms of cleanliness, it could use some major improvements (especially in the parking lot, ick!), but the interior looked like any other Walmart to me. I went in yesterday to purchase a shampoo I was not able to find at another location. I also purchased a few other items. This was probably THE WORST Walmart experience I've ever had. Every single item that was over $9 was locked up behind glass. It was a hassle trying to find someone to bring out an item for me. Not only that, the item was placed at a register where a long line formed, and it took about 30 minutes to be rung up. I don't understand how anyone in their right mind thought this was a good business plan. Aren't you better off hiring more security than locking everything up behind glass? Maybe have more people check receipts at the exit? It was a nightmare and clearly not well thought-out. There were other items I wanted to buy, but I opted to go elsewhere because I didn't want to have to call an employee every single time I needed something. Second, there was a family at the register in front of me purchasing pet fish. They had the fish in bags and I noticed that both employees who handled these bags were not careful, one of them being the cashier named Nancy. They were rough with them and didn't care that these were living things in these bags. This was really upsetting to see. read more

First off there were no baskets anywhere in the store they're all out in the parking lot. We asked the door greeter if they had any. He didn't seem to care very much. Then we try to get some cold medicine and everything is locked up in the cabinets and we wait after pushing the button for 10 minutes finally my wife goes tries to find somebody and apparently the person who has the key is on their lunch break nobody else has a key for it. Then I go to the men's hair care section and that's locked up at that point I said that's it let's go. We drove to this location because they had the item we need in stock. However once we got to self check out the machine didn't recognize our item in the bagging area. When asked for help, an anorexic blonde woman employee ( who's description I use solely because she didn't have a name tag on ) proceeded to ignore us, buy herself an item at another register, Help another guest who arrived after us, and then once she came to the stand she treated us like we were blind and deaf. My son purchased a TV from Walmart using the company Affirm for financing. He returned the TV but never received his down payment back. We attempted to go through Walmart to get some help and were totally disappointed. Their front end coach, Joseph retrieved a copy of the receipt for the transaction and then refused to help any further. He looked at me and said that was all he was doing and walked away. If he had taken the time to help this situation would not have taken 2 weeks to resolve. I called the corporate customer service number to report the lack of help we were getting and never received a call back from the store manager, Sylvia. I did finally receive a call back from Emerald. She is the only person in the store that did her job. She got on the phone with Affirm and attempted to solve the situation. She put forth the effort that a good employee does. In the end, she was able to get my sons down payment back; however, there was one catch. Initially, my son was given a $25 gift card for all of the trouble he was going through in order to get HIS money back. The manager, Sylvia, made him give the $25 gift card back (that was given to him for his trouble) before they would return his down payment. I am totally disgusted with this store in Oxnard Ca. With so many trips to the store to try and resolve this situation I really got a good look at how this store works. One person working the customer service line (today) is unacceptable. This line is the most important one in the store. This line will either bring back customers for the good service they receive or help them make the decision to, NOT return to this store because of poor service. In todays case, a 45 minute wait in line was unacceptable. The customer service employees are doing the best they can but cannot do their job alone. Hopefully, Walmart will take action to help train their employees or replace them with those that will do a better job. read more

Everytime I go, I arrive thinking that because it's a Super Center, it'll be convenient to practically find everything I need to in there. That's generally true. What I always forget to factor in are the horrible lines, the parking, and the disheveled displays. The lady at the customer service desk asked the manager to look over surveillance footage to verify I didn't actually buy something expensive that was on my receipt. It was great I am so thankful. I recently went to the Walmart on Rose Ave Oxnard to buy socks and underwear. Low and behold, the underwear was locked up like Fort Knox. I saw an attendant and asked her to open it up. She asked if I had pressed the bell. I said what bell. So she pointed it out to me the she pressed it and said someone wold come and unlock it. While I waited another customer was wondering the same this as I. Finally a girl came and helped the gentleman before me. He got his merchandise and the girl told him to go to register nine and it would be waiting there for him. I have a big issue with all of this. 1. Once the customer finds what he/She wants then they are treated with no trust. 2. Now after waiting for someone to unlock stuff, they are told to go to a certain register. 3. So not only do you make things difficult for your customers, because they chose to purchase something from a locked cabinet now they do not have the option to use self checkout. read more

This store is okay. Can't beat the prices especially compared to target. They have a good selection but employees aren't always helpful and sometimes they are busy talking amongst themselves so they don't even acknowledge you if you're standing right in front of them. The only good thing is lately this one employee Roy is very friendly . He always greets us and ask what we are looking for then proceeds to put down his mop to show us exactly what we are looking for. The bad thing is , there's never enough registers open!!!! May14,2020 so amongst this coronavirus thing . Walmart once again started selling clothes , so apparently you cannot return / exchange . After visiting some more Walmart stores, I am updating this to 3 stars. Turns out there are worse Walmart stores... MUCH WORSE.

So I needed some passport photos. They advertise they have that service. I go to the place and the photo center guy has not been trained to do it. I do not blame him, I use to work at a photo center in a big box store and was never trained. In fact, had to learn everything myself. I blame the Wal mart institution. And the kid working actually looked like he cared a lot about what he does. Sorry Wal-Mart. First and foremost, the parking for this store is horrendous. Be ready to walk very far if you want a parking spot immediately. There is also a man who started walking around the parking lot a few weeks ago asking for change from people. He doesn't look homeless but he's tried to ask me for money on three different visits while my hands are completely full. I'm afraid of reaching for my purse since I'm afraid of him running off with it while I fumble with my bags. He usually carries a messenger bag and has really short black hair and beard. I'm not sure if he's Hispanic or Filipino but be careful of this guy and don't give him money. There's security in the parking lot and I'm surprised they haven't recognized this guy after 3 weeks and asked him to leave for loitering. As for the store itself, it used to be good before they Super-ed it and added the grocery store. Now they've cut inventory and departments like the fabric department have been completely eliminated. Their selection of arts and craft items is practically zilch. The grocery store is ok. Their packaged products are usually at better prices than other stores. I went to the produce section and there were flies in the white onions and one of the white onions was rotting. This store has trouble keeping inventory stocked on the shelves like in the health and beauty section and household goods. The shelves are rarely organized and if they were, they've just been restocked and it'll only last until the next day. Want to go back to school shopping? Go very early in the season in order to shop in the neat and organized aisles or you'll have to sift through all the damage products that have been tossed around by the children and their parents that will eventually turn that section upside down. I hate last minute shopping for stuff there after the crowd has destroyed that section. I used to shop for women's clothing here since they used to have a nice selection of work casual clothes but not anymore. Now, the intimates section is just as big as the women's and teen's clothing departments combined! I don't understand the logic. I continue to shop at this store only because they have certain products that I need for less and it's on my way home from work. read more

Today I went to Walmart. Every department offered friendly and helpful service. I was able to locate all my items. But, after standing in line waiting for check out, I decided to use the self-serve checkout. I didn't want to originally because I had vegetables! But, what a wonderful surprise when I started unloading my cart and Carina was manning the area. There were lots of customers using the self checkout and we all had so many questions. Carina was patient, helped us all and best of all had a smile on her beautiful face. It was busy, at least five other folks asking all kinds of questions and she was friendly and smiling the entire time. Thank you Carina for helping me. I appreciated it very much. read more
