It had been a while since I last visited TJ Maxx, and this location felt crowded, likely because of the season. There's a wide variety of items to browse, and while you can find some great hidden gems, it does take patience. Overall, the prices are very reasonable. read more

They have a good selection of home goods such as cookware, utensils, bowls, cups, wine glasses, etc. I come here for name brand shampoo, conditioner, heat protection, leave-in conditioner, etc. I saw some cute gifts like Kate Spade tumblers and wine glasses. They also have a lot of jewelry for a good price such as 14k gold earrings. They have a lot of toys here that would make great gifts for kids. For pets, I saw some Yeti dog food bowls which were cool. They were about $24 which is half the price of what the costed online. Lots of Pusheen cat home goods too! The lines here are long so be prepared. I would say the customer service at the cash register was not the best though. That's the only reason I am giving this a bit lower review. I like going to the shopping center this place is located at because I like to walk around and window shop. There's a Walmart, Bath and Body Works, and many other shops. In the last two times I have gone, there's been someone with their hands full of stuff running out and it seems the staff it just used to it. I told the cashier in the front and she said , " Yes, I know." I'm sad she's just used to this. Not sure what the store can do just upset for the employees. It was a little shocking to see twice now. Merchandise: I do not find much there but I have found great purses. This is my place when I am looking for a new bag at an affordable price. That's why I give it 2 stars. I love TJ Maxx, but I honestly dread coming to this location. Every time I shop here, I feel like the employees are constantly watching me, and they make it very obvious. It creates a really uncomfortable shopping experience, especially for someone who already struggles with anxiety. I'm not sure what about me makes them feel the need to "keep an eye on me," but no customer should feel singled out or uncomfortable while shopping. read more

GETTING HERE: TJ Maxx is located In the Esplanade in Oxnard right near Dick's Sporting Goods. REVIEW: This specific location is where I love to get my Christmas items. I mean, all the things. *All the Christmas things. I'm v obsessed with their endcaps and displays. The store is quite large and spacious, so one doesn't feel cramped in the aisles. You can find so many hidden treasures here! Their inventory/displays rotate often which is also v nice and what keeps me checking in quite frequently. Customer Service in retail is a lost art, IMO. But let's be real: I'm shopping here to treat myself and benefit from some retail therapy. I'm not here for the service. It's fine. I do recommend. If you have the patience to look through racks of clothes you'll find some treasures. It's a very organized store, easy to navigate. Friendly workers. Five stars for me. I found plenty and then some. Lots in my size, matching tops and bottoms too! They carry Reeboks! read more

I had friends visiting, so I brought them here because they were looking for good prices. This store has a great selection of purses and bags, as well as sweaters and jackets. They sell men's clothing, housewares, rugs, and plenty of gift ideas. There is even a fun toy selection. The checkout line is long, but it moves quickly, and service is efficient. read more

This place sucks. Never less than 25+ people in the checkout/return line and a few registers open. Likely understaffed so I don't blame the employees who are just doing their jobs but I won't shop at this location anymore just to avoid the long wait to buy or return anything. read more

I think the store overall is a great place for shopping, however I have recently been to this TJ maxx twice in the past month or so, and each time I visited, I went and browsed at the jewelry counter. Each time I was not met with any help or anyone questioning if I'd like to look at something inside the jewelry counter. There was an older woman (the same one on each occasion) who was behind the register but she did not offer help at all! This most recent occasion, I waited patiently at the counter as she was tending to customers before me and I knew she was busy. I waited until she was free and then another couple walks up to the counter browsing, as I was and she asks them if they'd like help completely ignoring the fact that I was there waiting first! I know she saw me because she looked up from behind the counter while she was doing something at the register and smiled. Both encounters I was ignored and unfortunately I did not make the purchase I wanted to because of how upset I was with her customer service. I'd like to think that her ignoring me on both occasions is not intentional but I do think their customer service could be better. read more

They have nine registers two are open and 14 people are waiting in line. Very poor management.

The past couple of times at this location have not been good. It seemed like they had the staff but not used to best benefit the customers. As I was browsing, I was at the back of the store. One worker was just hiding out, pretending to be working. She kept looking to see if she was being observed by employees. Then I went to checkout. Oh my gosh. There were 9 stations but only 2 open. There were at the minimum 20 customers in line to check out. After standing there a bit I saw an employee walk up and look at the situation. I made eye contact with her hoping she would do something. She got on her employee only microphone and said something. I thought some of the floor employees would come to the rescue. No, didn't happen. I was so close to just dropping the merchandise and leaving but I had already waited so long. I made eye contact with the "mic" woman again. Nothing, she and another worker started sorting hangers behind the registers. When I finally got to a register the girl was very nice., asking me all the pertinent questions. Then the mic lady interrupted us to ask her when she was taking her lunch. Unbelievable. At the end of my transaction I asked my checker if the mic woman was a manager. She said yes. I told her she really needs to "up her game" as I motioned to the still long long line. She apologized and said they were short staffed. I said the least she could do was man a register. The checker said she would let her know. I walked out. Will not be back. At a time when people can order anything on line I would think customer service would be a VITAL component in the shopping experience. read more

I love getting in TJmaxxROUBLE!!! I totally dub myself as a fashionista...who?! This girl right here!!! How can I easily spend two hours in this store? Well let me break it down for you, lol... I love how open this store feels right when you walk in. As you enter the store, they have beautiful bags from: Jessica Simpson, Calvin Klein, Steve Madden and Michael Kors! This section is divided by color, so if you're looking for a specific bag things are easier to find. It's also divided by the type of bag: wrist bag, cross body, over-the-shoulder, this store has it all! Great selection, I almost always walk out with a bag even when it wasn't on my imaginary shopping list. Dammit, gets me every time. Adjacent to the bag section you'll find the jewelry cases with pieces at really discounted prices, especially from Michael Kors!!! Discounted MK pieces?! Yeah I said it-Watches, rings, necklaces and earrings! After window shopping the jewelry I go straight to the shoe department. Talk 'bout hit or miss, because I have theeee most common shoe size, it's extremely hard to find shoes that a)I like and b)that actually fit. Thumbs down. Now to the good stuff, the clothes! I always go to the "last chance sales" racks and clearance racks before I go through the regular priced items. I've seriously found items that were $3.50, $3.00 and $4.50 when originally they were priced at $68, $72 and $50.... That's a huge savings for me! I get such a thrill when I see items like that! I love to go to TJ because they change there inventory constantly and get new shipments 3 times a week so there are always new bargains every time I go. I love to browse there handbags. Probably most of my handbags come from there. My most favorite thing to do there is to browse there clearance section for bath and beauty items. I just got a Bliss micro magic that I saw at a department store for $48 for $10 clearance. Parking is convenient. I love the single line that branches out to the different registers. read more

This place has the best deals hands down. Out of the three sister stores ( marshall's, Tjmaxx, and home goods) I find Tjmaxx to be the best. I can find anything for the home and myself when I go. The prices are great too. It is always clean and organized. Other stores like Ross are always a mess, that deters you from returning. Never go expecting a specific thing however, it is like a scavenger hunt. Get it when you see or they may not have it next time. Kinda exiting Their staff is always welcoming you with a hello, and are always easily found on the floor to assist you if the need arises. The lines move super quickly. I always come to T.J Maxx, like every weekend pretty much. I like this place since it's where I've found MANY of my favorite things ever. I've gotten most of my jewlery and shoes here. While I like the stuff I find here I must admit it tends to get messy but that's because people open products, and leave things on the ground. I think between TJ Maxx, Home Goods, Ross, & Marshall's my entire home is decorated from these discount stores, and why not when you can find great bargains for the house from Accent Chairs, tables, and rugs, to dinnerware, silverware, and bar ware, bathmats, shower curtains, and bath goods ... you've struck decor galore! While not the tidiest of stores, though the sales clerks to try, if you have the patience to shop then you are going to enjoy your visit, but if you have no patience for messiness and your rude fellow customers, then you might find yourself running for the exit. I got a DKNY shower curtain at this store, it had a slight discoloration at the bottom hem (barely noticeable) I got it at TJ Maxx for $9.99 , the regular retail was around $40, that's $30 I saved that can go toward a utility bill. If you like something but are procrastinating, don't be surprised if its gone when you return, so word of advice , if you really like that accent chair but just can't make up your mind ( true story) realize you'll be crying over you beer later on when you go back and someone else snatched it up. Second word of advice if you hate crowds, go right when they open or try to go later in the evening, excluding holidays because then they are always busy. read more

TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshall's... It's like Macy's, Target, and JC Penny are having garage sales. If you enjoy the hunt you can find some real gems here and have a good time doing it. If not, TJ Maxx may not be for you. My wife for instance is the Queen of finding the perfect pair of shoes, that come in every size but hers. That great last sweater that's just her size but doesn't have a tag so they won't sell it. For her, paying a little extra for service and selection is well worth it. Final Word TJ Maxx is a savers safari and if the words "retail jungle" get your adrenaline pumping then this is the place for you. read more

Nice but VERY understaffed when we visited this past January. Had to wait at the jewelry counter for 15 minutes while one of the staff got someone else to come. Waited, waited... and NO one showed up. Finally got so frustrated went to walk out, finally someone went to help us. Store also appears to be quite disorganized, gotta say I prefer the organization of Nordstrom Rack. This place just seemed like a weird free for all of semi-designer (and non-designer) stuff.
