It's a ghost mall. Sooooo many more shops have closed down :/ My beloved Old Navy is closed and move to Ventura Gateway. We were shocked and sad. We had planned to go and buy a few outfits. We had been there only a few weeks ago. I will say that the mall did have a lot of families shopping . Though they put Xmas decor up, it looks sad and old. I attended the mall with my fiancé. He tried to take his client who is special needs to use the restroom. They normally use the family restrooms as it's easier for him to use it without feeling anxious. When he tried to use the family restroom with his client, they were denied access even after he explained he was special needs and why they were trying to use it. This has never happened to them before anywhere else. read more

This mall, many people say, is on its last legs. Maybe it's true, I don't know. All I know is I like visiting the place. Even though some stores with very recognizable names have pulled out, the indie stores that have taken their place are quite interesting. And it's not like all the anchor stores are gone. Macy's and JC Penny are still open for business. Plus there still a few other nationally known businesses, like California Pizza Kitchen and Sephora. And let's not forget See's Candy. And the T-Mobile store on the lower level is totally legit, with honest customer service, unlike what you get from the crooked bastards at the T-Mobile store on Telephone Rd over by Vons. Among the many interesting indie stores I really like Sue's Candy. It's a small store, but it's packed with a very appealing candy selection as well as some great toys. Another reason I like to visit Pacific View is the Food Court. The Panda Express is my usual place but I've been to Charley's Cheesesteaks a time or two too. Down on the first level there is a Red Robin that still does a lot of business during peak times. I signed up for the Red Robin mailing list so I could get a free Hamburger on my birthday. I appreciated their generosity, but I didn't enjoy their burger at all. Guess I'm just not a Red Robin kinda guy. Really hated to see Jersey Mikes close. That was the best local Jersey Mikes by far. Superior sandwiches, great employees. Hope something good opens up in their spot. My best advice is don't listen to people who say this mall is dead. Go Visit Pacific View Mall! I do have to agree that this mall needs a little remodeling, because it looks a little rundown and they have so many empty stores. But it's the only mall near my home and I come here often. My kids like playing in their indoor playground. It's mostly for you her kids, although I've seen older kids playing there sometimes. I like to shop at Macy's, Sephora, Target and some of others stores there. it's 's nice to have all these stores in one location. I don't want to be driving around trying to get all the things I need at different stores and sometimes it's still nice to shop at a store than online. They also have a food court with a good selection of food or a couple of restaurants, so if you get hungry after shopping you can stop and get something to eat there! So many of the people working at the mall are friendly and depend on their jobs. We should continue shopping there and help keep them in business. read more

Right after I posted these photos, my husband left his phone on the bench we were sitting at by Red Robin. It took us about 20 minutes to realize he had lost it. By the time I returned, there was a group of teenagers sitting at the bench, but the kind gentleman at the massage kiosk had informed me that a couple had found his phone and took it to the management office. By the time I reached the office they had closed and I had to phone the after hours security. I described his phone and they brought it to me and was able to unlock it. I want to thank the Security team and the anonymous couple who returned the phone. I am so happy there are honest, decent people who come to this mall! We were on a tight schedule today, but I will definitely return. Happy shopping! read more

Husband swung by here while charging the car and picked up some random toys for the kids in the vending machine. The mall looks dated.

This is our local mall and we love it. There is a Macy's, a Target, an Old Navy, and many other stores. They also have a See's Candies and a California Pizza Kitchen. My kids love their playing area, which they renovated a couple of years ago. Parking is plentiful and free. read more

Can get quite busy on the weekends. I prefer to go during the week when it's a little less crowded. There are a few nice restaurants, a few good stores, and an Aerial Studio. It's unique and I love when they have the ice rink in the winter. read more

Pacific View Mall doesn't quite hang together somehow. I have been here in the past, though it had been a long while. In November Dear Hubby and I had been in Ojai, and were heading back. I wanted to walk for exercise, and darkness had already fallen. I suggested we walk in the mall. DH said he was up for it, but was having knee pain, so mostly sat near a food place and waited for me. That gave me a chance to walk both floors of the mall, take in the holiday decorations, and see the stores and their displays, too. As I walked, I came to the conclusion that this has become a C-class shopping venue. As another Yelper mentioned, the aggressive kiosk vendors make for a less than easy experience. I was walking at a fast clip, so they mostly didn't distract me too much. The mall slopes from north to south, with elevation changes. You have the option of taking stairs or ramps at each incline. It's a holdover from the original open air mall development in the 1960's. The roof overhead was a retrofit. The center does feel cobbled together, lacking an architectural vision. Wikipedia's entry for P.V. Mall states that it's the largest in Ventura County, but to me The Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks feels bigger, and definitely is more luxurious and cohesive. I was able to accomplish my walking goals, and snuck in some early Christmas shopping at Old Navy, so that was a good outcome to the visit. With Sears set to close in February and Forever 21 also on the way out at this mall, they have big challenges ahead. read more

So my family tried to (daughter, husband and I ) take a photo with Santa Claus. Since my daughter is still a toddler, she cried and was scared of Santa Claus who is a new person in costume to adjust to. The photographer then took photos but didn't even include my husband. ( so now we have photos of my daughter, myself and Santa with no husband). I mean that's inconsiderate and inconvenient of (her) the photographer to do an incomplete and poor job. Pacific View hosts the Farmer's Market on Wednesday's from 9a-1p which gives an opportunity for your fresh goods. The mall does have some pop-up events and other opportunities for kids. It's sad that what used to be a such a hopping place is so run down and limited. I walked in today to see a fairly empty parking lots and a very empty parking structure with human feces in it. The lack of care for the cleanliness and cracked tiles in the mall is just sad. read more

Updating my original review. The mall, with all its shortcomings, still has a few great stores and it's location is very convenient. Bath & Body Works, Target, Sephora, Victoria's Secret, Express, American Eagle, and Macy's to name the best. I just wish someone would throw some money at the facility to update the damage around the building. Now that the giant Sears building is empty it's looking even more sad. It would be great to turn it into a Dave & Buster's. read more

This poor Mall. How has it continued such as it is? There are empty stores everywhere (especially the 2nd Floor), dirt and sticky stuff on the floor tiles, tiny parking spaces, it's just sad. As this mall used to be flourishing, too! Now, this mall has TWO eyebrow stations/places down the middle? Pretty much ruined my shopping experience to see this. This is a mid-range mall in mid-town Ventura. They have typical big department stores like Macys and JC Penny and Sears, along with smaller retail stores lining the sides of the indoor walkway. The walking areas are spacious and well-lit and their food court is good sized and you can almost always find a place to sit. The place is kept clean inside and with decent landscaping and artwork outside. The Ventura transit station is at the North end of the mall (well past the main buildings, past Target, Trader Joes and BevMo). I have no qualms with this mall and come here when I need to buy clothes. PS the East parking lot entrance/exit (closer to the freeway) is really difficult to navigate during holidays and I recommend any of the other entrances/exits during these times. Leaving out one of the North exits or even the West exit is preferable due to lights and intersection fluidity. read more

They had some good stores here. It is a large mall and there is lots of parking available. As far as dept stores there is a Sears (for now), a JC Penney and a Target. BUT, this place overall is filthy. It is like they did not have enough cleaning staff, at least on a Sunday. Those carpets need to be ripped out throughout. Especially around the food court, I mean, people eat there! Gross. I would never order anything from here nor sample anything. The employees were encountered were mostly quite nice however, and this place generally employs a lot of people which is good. It just really needs some new flooring and some TLC. This mall is in need of a desperate face lift. There are some vacant spots and the lighting just makes the whole mall have a damp feeling to it. So this is a good mall, I've lived across the street since before it was renovated (pre-Amazon/WallMart, etc.). Its suffering, too much blight...yet what is there is still a good time. I take the kids for the food court and they eventually run into Game Stop or some toy store. There is some unique places in here most larger malls would never have due to overhead. I'm a fan, but I fear this place will be ruined to lack of interest in a decade if something does not change soon. read more
