GETTING HERE: Lakeshore is located in the strip mall where the huge Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is located at the crossing of Telephone and Main; it's just a few doors down from CBTL. For parking, it's best to head down Telephone and turn into the lot where you see Lamps Plus and Office Depot. (If you find yourself facing Ross, Lakeshore is completely on the opposite end of the lot.) REVIEW: It's OK. I mean, it's fine enough. If you need something in a pinch (instead of waiting for USPS delivery). The staff are friendly enough, too. It's just the prices. AND, especially now it's even worse. :( The store is quite large and I have noticed that their inventory is usually very well stocked. They carry a great variety of inventory too. I came in recently with lots of papers and posters to laminate before school started. Not realizing I overlapped a few posters, Jackie came over to let me know. Without hesitation she went to get me the same posters, laminated them for me and had a genuine desire to assist me. She went above and beyond any of my expectations! The staff here are so genuinely friendly and helpful. I originally came before school started and they had so many amazing deals! Even cheaper than Amazon! It's always disheartening to buy supplies out of your own pocket and Lakeshore can be overly expensive, but Jackie always makes sure I get their discounts, and she looks for any discount, coupon she can apply to the order. This store and the 2 ladies working yesterday 5/31/18 completely made me customer for life. My 5 year old son been diagnosed with Sensory Prossing Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Anxiety Disorder. I have all these Drs and therapists coming at me with different things to try. I like to shop at Lakeshore for my last minute preschool classroom needs. I'm always greeted promptly and help is always at my fingertips. Everyone is always nice. I choose my time to shop there wisely because I want to make sure I go when it's not full of kids running around. Most visits the background music is so loud that I leave with a headache, although the last two times I've been there the music wasn't blasting like it normally does. They carry a wide assortment of classroom supplies, from office supplies to washable paint, bulletin board supplies to magna-tiles. They routinely send out coupons to help offset their high prices. I do wish that they had a religious section to take care of the needs of religious classrooms, especially posters and bulletin board supplies. It is so nice to have a store like this in Ventura. In many ways, it seems like a craft store for kids, and a wonderful place to take children to create a sense of learning and creativity together. They also have free monthly workshops in the evening for educators and parents which indicates a level of responsibility to the community...imo, a rare thing to see in retail businesses these days.
