This place is AMAAAZING!!!!! I needed to get a poster on foam backing as a visual aid for a speech I was giving the very next day. I spoke with both Andrea and Alex, who were wonderful, extremely professional, and patient. They walked me through the process and had the poster ready for pickup in 2.5 hours!!!!!! I had called other companies but none were able to move so quickly. The poster was EXACTLY what I needed, super high quality, neatly executed. The image was clear, true to color, and the surface and edges were perfectly smooth. The price was reasonable and competitive, with no rush charge! Maybe I caught them at the right moment, but having my poster ready so incredibly rapidly was a total lifesaver, allowing me to give a more complete presentation. I wish there were more companies like this, with great products and humane customer service. I will definitely use their services in the future but try to give them more advance notice!! read more

If less than "a" star was a thing...I walked in and this short white woman from the minute she saw me gave off an absolute BAD VIBE, like she was being bothered by a NEW CUSTOMER. Her energy was so ugly I'm glad they couldn't do the laminate job. As soon as I showed her what the item was she is shaking her head (no) talking about "we don't that" and then she turned and walked away without telling me to wait a moment (horrible customer care), talked to a brown man seated in the back of this shop and came back to me saying they ran out of lamenting materials blah blah blah...I'm a sales rep and will need additional printing services and this place I will never come back to and I suggest you don't either. I'm a biracial black/Jew...she was probably a Zionist. So if that's your thing... Their response is comical and a misrepresentation of the actual facts. But whatever! SLB is fantastic. I've had hundreds of photos printed with them from foam mounted posters to 3ft x 6ft posters. Turnaround is usually next day or the following day. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful, Rich is great. Why print at Walgreens or Costco and pay the same amount for worse quality? There isn't another printer of the same caliber in the LA area. Do not go here if you are an independent artist. Incredibly rude, slow email response, and extremely expensive. I have given this place two tries and both times were upsetting experiences. 1st time in 2021 (before minuteman press ownership) given original quote for 8.5x11 booklet and I later asked for half size. They send me a new quote for half size and i approve of quote. hours later they call me saying they accidentally printed in full 8.5x11 and start demanding i pay the original quote price because it was "my fault" for not resubmitting a resized file (a thing no one had told me to do...oh yeah they charge $75 for resubmitting files for booklets). luckily someone stepped in to say I can pay the second quote that I actual approved of. While I was glad i didnt have to pay the larger amount, I was still left with 30 large booklets I never asked for. 2nd time 2023 A mistake on SLB side where they accidentally charged me 1 cent and tells me that I need to pay the rest of the quote (fair enough) however second payment is for full invoice price. When I went to pick up my prints, the moment I even start questioning this mistake, I was again yelled at by one of the employees stating that I paid the correct amount and there was no one cent overcharge. Without even letting me show them my receipts for the extra charge she tries to give me a penny to shoo me away (no one uses coins anymore and also if i truly didnt owe SLB a penny I wasnt going to take it). I was willing to pay the extra cent as long as they revised the invoice, but again, was yelled at that no revisions can be made. In any other business there would have been a revision to the invoice or a refund for the faulty charge (on card please). I understand to the business and to many reading this that it is just one cent, but as a business I believe money related things should be accurate. The employee I actually worked with via email was nice and she had admitted in person that the one cent was a mistake on her part, but please explain that to your coworker that's yelling at me, thanks. On their email responses: I find it inexcusable that I had to be the one to constantly follow up with them for ready time, quote questions, and approval. I have sent them a follow up email with screenshots regarding the overcharge and bank statement on my card but as expected, no response. read more

This place is the best!!! I contacted them last second to print two signs. One being huge and the other being custom made and needed everything done within 24 hours for a last minute event I was helping out with. They were probably the 5th place I had called with the prior 4 saying no way they would need 5-7 days or just never calling me back. They called me right back, had an invoice to me within 2 hours, and actually got everything done in LESS THAN 24 hours!!!!! I also want to point out the quality of both printing jobs (one on vinyl in color, one on foam core in color) was perfection. In my frantic search for getting this done I obviously came across a dozen websites with 24-48hr turnaround but upon further investigation found most reviews showing low-quality printing. The results I received from SLB were phenomenal and high-quality. I specifically worked with Nancy and she was extremely helpful and came through with everything she promised and more. First and foremost, this review is long overdue on my part; I've been using SLB since April 2017, and they have never disappointed. As a matter of fact, they have always gone above and beyond. I am extremely happy with their service, delivery, pricing (I deserve a discount at this point...jk), and Nancy (she's the best...her entire team is the best)! So here's how it all started... back in 2017 I found myself in a bind, another printing shop had let me down (no hard feelings, I know things happen and delays are possible - except for SLB...ha!), so I started frantically calling every possible print shop within a 2 hour drive of Downtown LA to see if anyone could print booklets on such a short notice. Most places flat out said no, others said they could do it, but they also set my expectations that the quality would be compromise (plus they were quoting me an arm and a leg). The pricing wasn't so much the issue, I was willing to pay, BUT I did not want to compromise the quality of the project. Eventually, almost at noon (way past the same-day cutoff time), I called SLB and this wonderful person, Nancy, answered and told me they could do it. Not only did she sound confident about the timeline and project, but she also assured me that quality would be what I expected or better. The best part about that conversation was the price! I was almost fully relieved, but also a bit skeptical. So I did what anyone else freaking out would do...I placed the same order with 3 different companies (SLB doesn't know this). Later that day at 4pm, close to the due time, I got a call from Nancy to let me know my order was ready for pick up, I asked her how they looked, and she said "great." Sadly, I had to call the other two places to get a status update, and they told me they were not ready yet. I started driving to SLB, and I was immediately impressed. The quality was all what I expected AND more, plus Nancy and the entire team were very pleasant in person. She saved my day!!! I eventually picked up the orders from the other printers and they work was nowhere near the quality that I got from SLB, plus one of them was double the price. That day, SLB earned my business. I have been going back to them for every job. They are so good that they got me used to sending projects last minute, and I never worry about it not being done or on time (please do not follow my lead). SLB has printed thousands of dollars worth of projects for me (tri-folds, business cards, catalogs, folders, posters, badges, etc.), and each and every single one of those jobs has been done to perfection. I am the world's biggest procrastinator and thought I could just walk into a kinkos the day of my presentation and get my poster printed. Thankfully I did a little research 2 days before the conference to find that unless I wanted to pay an arm and a leg, I probably needed to do something else. A quick yelp search found SLB and I was able to call and arrange for my poster to be printed. The lady I spoke to on the phone was great and made sure to confirm what I wanted. I got an order of customer stickers from here that were basically unusable and needed to be replaced immediately. Total waste of money and time. Quality was very low on the stickers and the design/pattern rubbed off from any usage. Oddly when I arrived to pick up my order they delivered the stickers in sheets that were 2' x 2' ??? I had to ask them to cut the stickers (1"x 2") down into a usable format. I'm not clear why anyone thought giving me a massive sheet that size makes sense. I also generally just found it oddly difficult to get a quote/work with them. This feels very much like an old company that hasn't adapted to the times. I'm sure one of the owners will reach out on yelp to try to "solve the problem" or whatever but why would I trust someone to fix something who didn't get the basics right in the first place? read more

In response to the owner: How long you've been fulfilling my print requests- irrelevant. Amount of orders- irrelevant. Order quantity- irrelevant. Number of email exchanges- irrelevant. You have no idea what print jobs I was planning to use SLB for in the future. To be very clear- I was not once "thrilled" with a single of the mentioned 3 orders. This is a lie. If I was thrilled it would be reflected in a 5-star review. I will speak for myself, thank you. The "short supply" and "inflation" was never communicated. My questions were not answered. But I had a feeling you would provide the explanation I was waiting for from the actual email correspondence. To the "multiple requests" for changes, I can only assume you're referring to my 13"x18" print order, where after I approved and paid for the order I received the response: "Size has been reduced down to 12.5x18, as our sheets for this stock are 13x19 and do not print edge to edge. Please confirm you are okay with the size adjustment." All I said was this would not work. If I ask for a 13"x18" print then I need a 13"x18" print. There should be not additional charge for me having to downsize from the 13"x18" I requested to an 11"x17" to accommodate for the print size not working after I approved. (Rich was great, by the way.) Rating has been updated to include my latest experience with the owner. As I said, very disappointed with the customer service. read more

I had two 27 x 40" movie posters printed, one on semi-gloss paper and the other on matte: both posters looked great! I hung my poster in my office and the other was given to the director of the film as a birthday present. If you're making a movie poster and you don't know who should print it, definitely have SLB print it for you. The quality of the final work really depends on how well-designed your poster is in the first place and whether the graphic artist delivers the files to the shop's specs, to be honest. If you've done your part as a designer, SLB will print you a poster on par with anything you've seen on a Friday night hanging on the walls at AMC, Laemmle, Landmark, Pacific Theaters -- any of them.
