On Wednesday October 22nd at 9:00 p.m. in the electronics department there is a very nice young woman working named Melissa she was knowledgeable professional has a great attitude excellent time management without making the customer feel like they have been forgotten about them she has the level of Excellence every Walmart should expect out of their employees. I've gotten a lot of subpar service at this store but Melissa exuberates a professionalism that every other Walmart employee should strive to achieve. The next day I went to return it to the store and they told me that I couldn't return it because they didn't know if that was the one I had bought. I paid 20 and it's not that I care but they should check their product before putting it on a shelf. Now I lost 20 dollars but I'll make sure that what happened to me by posting this on Yelp doesn't happen to anyone else. Man!!! I am so upset! Not sure what's going on but this is the second year in a row my credit card info is stolen right before Christmas! I called and cancelled it real quick but it is upsetting. It's the second year in a row so I know something is up and not secure with their system. I will never use plastic again here. Only cash. Other friends also had their credit card info stolen so I know it's not just me. I thought it was a fluke but two years in a row? I don't think so. The thing odd is charges made are a purchase at Walmart. Not sure if it's their Walmart online ordering system that is flawed. I bought creamers for drive up pick up and the next charge is over $100 bucks. I never buy more than $30 at Walmart.. that's only for Target shopping! I understand why they lock everything up. I went there today and what I wanted was locked up. So I pushed the button for assistance. I waited 10 minutes while watching 3 associates walk by me and didn't speak or offer to help. I pushed the button again. This time I saw 6 associates sticking shelves and nothing. So I called the store. Was talking to the person who answered the phone and asked a question I had. I explained to her I was in the isle of what I wanted and I have been waiting 15-20 minutes. She said she would send someone to help me and I waited antler 10-15 minutes. Total of time in Walmart was about an hour. Needless to say no one ever helped me and I left what I had in my cart and walked out. My issue is if you are going to lock things up have associates help the customers. I have a love/hate relationship with this Walmart. I love it because it's literally the only Walmart near my house. Well the only SUPERCENTER. Ugh they need to fix that. I don't understand why most of the items needs to be locked up. Like can y'all just act like normal law abiding citizens and NOT STEAL? Of course not. So that part sucks. Having to wait for someone to come bring me razors or whatever essential item is needed. I'll just drive to Camarillo target instead sometimes to avoid that drama. Anyways, for the most part this Walmart is usually stocked with everything I've ever needed. On a rare occasion, I'll have to go to the neighborhood Walmart up the ways on Oxnard Blvd but eh not often. I've never had issues with returns. Keep your receipts. The staff is usually friendly. Don't be jerks to the staff, think about the people they have to deal with on the regular... I'd probably be in a bad mood too lol. Their produce can be questionable so I'll drive my butt to sams club for that. But for the most part I haven't had issues with this Walmart. The customer service did not accept the return of my printer cartridge worth $37.12 nor exchange it. I only bought the printer cartridge 2 days ago. I showed them proof (picture) that the printer's error of the ink cartridge incompatibility. They still would not work with me, rather they insisted on me calling the manufacturer. I think anyone who goes into a Walmart knows who they're getting into. This location has a lot of stores other than Walmart, so parking is very busy, although the majority of people parking are going into Walmart specifically. Let's be honest, as part of the 99%, I'm here for the low prices and I brave the cramped parking and the insane crowds to save money on a loaf of bread and eggs. The aisles are cluttered and I would never describe Walmart as a tidy place, but hey, those deals won't pick themselves. Also, waiting for an employee to get something out of one of those locked cages (like a razor) takes forever. It's the reason why all I buy all "caged items" on Amazon now - unless it's an emergency. There's a self-checkout at either end of the store, but BE PATIENT because you will be waiting in line or navigating through people to get where you need to go. Also, sometimes the product or products you're looking for are missing, so you either have to figure out when Walmart stocks those items or just hope to luck out. Kudos to the the curbside service though. On the Walmart app, you can order your food or miscellaneous items for an employee to "shop" and bring out to your car. It's free if you spend over $35 in items or about $7 for a service fee if you don't. You park in the back of the building and an employee will bring out the items to you. You have to choose one hour slots to go and have someone come by your car to give you the bags (or drop them in your trunk). In the morning, there typically are late hour slots available; otherwise, you have to choose the slots for next day or days out. You can still add more items to your cart as the day goes on, but the cut off is about 4-5 hours beforehand. I really love this service. My only complaint is that I wish they would select food items with later expiration dates. I like to get salads that are going to expire in 1 week vs 2 days, but oh well, it's convenient. In short, time is money, and you're going to spend some time shopping and waiting cause Walmart has cheaper prices than most other stores out there. read more

I ordered 2 different protein bars that Walmart shipped & I received today. My items arrived in a shipping bag & I appreciate the reduction in trash. However, one set of protein bars arrived Without a box. You will see in the photos how damaged they arrived due to negligence. I just don't understand how any Walmart employee would find h to is ok & acceptable. Clearly the box must've been damaged & that's why my items were not in the original box which would've served as protection. Unacceptable. I've struggled with this location for so many years. I understand it's in Oxnard and isn't in a great area. But it's the only superstore around. They never have carts and so you have to bring one from the parking lot yourself. The music is blasted on speakers they have outside in Spanish. The entrance and exits are guarded if you will by employees who are expecting issues I presume. The store is dirty and the employees are not happy. Checking out the young man who has a huge nose piercing was so angry at life as he never said a word to anyone. Well he did say my total. This place is so poorly ran as I've been to other Walmarts where it felt far more welcoming and clean. Walmart corporation should visit this location and see for themselves. You're better going to the Walmart grocery store in Oxnard or the Walmart in Ventura for quick items. read more

I understand that due to theft, many items are now locked up, and an employee needs to come and get them for you. However, the problem is how long you have to wait for the employee to show up and give you the item. Today I waited 15 minutes for the employee. Last week, I waited 20 minutes. I pressed the button probably 45 times, before someone came to help me. Walmart, this is NOT good customer service. I am sure this system is going to fail. read more

For some reason they have decided it's a good idea to close self checkout on BOTH sides of the store forcing us to wait in ridiculously long lines. And on top of that most of the cashiers move at a SNAILS PACE. ANDA ALOT of items are secured so you have to wait AGAIN for items like deodorant and razors for someone to open the glass, and then they act like it's classified materials having to take it to the front. A lot of us forget we even asked for the items we in there so long. I was in line 32 minutes the other day for 5 items. It's insane. I don't know what's going on in this store , but that is unacceptable. Don't expect a quick trip to Walmart until they fix whatever they have going on in there. Once again went to get my oil changed at Walmart. I should have known better. Got there as soon as they opened. There was still a line. Not a big deal. Waited for the attendant to take my information and keys. Right out the gate they didn't have any Oil other than the most expensive Synthetic Penzoil. This has happened before. How is it that you don't have Oil going into the weekend? Not once but twice? That is so beyond me as a service provider. Somebody is dropping the ball here or it's a total scam. To not have three of the lower brands of oil available? Really. Money was not the issue here. I ended up getting the high costing Oil only because it needed to be done and time is money. I'd have to take time off during the week to get it done. Not gonna happen. to the auto department manager. Get it together. Your Vendor is killing me (us) working folks. read more

The only reason I gave it a two-star review is because employees that do show up to work are kind and friendly. Otherwise I would rate it a one star.But I strongly believe that the store is understaffed. Inventory is low, restrooms are filthy, the floors are dirty, self checkout machines are broken, the sanitizing stands are empty. The parking lots are loaded with trash & sketchy people asking for money or trying to sell you something. The trash cans right outside the door are always over filled. I don't feel safe shopping here so I avoid this place. read more

I hadn't shopped at a Walmart in several months due to unfortunate experiences at the Ventura store. Was pleasantly surprised by the newly-renovated and organized Oxnard store. I shopped early in the morning (7:30am) and they had self-service checkout open (yay!) It wasn't that crowded and the staff I encountered were helpful and pleasant. I wish I could say that I saved money as in the past, but prices have increased so much that Walmart really isn't cheaper than other stores anymore. Still, I appreciated the shopping experience and will most likely return again when I am certain that it's not crowded and the self-service checkout is open. Happy New Year! read more

It was a Saturday during mid day that I arrived for a quick shopping trip. When I went to the makeup section everything seemed to be locked up. The associate in that area was gone and the other employee in that area didn't have the keys to help and wasn't able to find the other employee. Once the other employee arrived he didn't have the keys to open the area I needed and stated the employee who had the key had gone to lunch and would be an hour before they are back! How? How does Walmart only have one set of keys? Waste of time and very frustrating read more

Needed a new car batter. No one was the auto service desk. I asked for assistance and I just got the same answer "not my department ". No one wanted to help. 25 mins later someone finally showed up and said used the machine around the corner to look up your car batter. The machine was not working and the car batteries were locked. I told the employee "I am a customer asking for help are you going to help me?" The employee was not helping anyone and just being lazy. I informed the employee I was waiting for help for 25 mins and you send me to a machine that broken and the batters are locked, what was the point of me tying to get my battery if they are locked? I was at Walmart purchasing alcohol, and of course you cannot use self check out to purchase alcohol. In a Saturday they has ONE actual cashier open and the rest were self check outs. I was having a conversation with a couple in front of me since we were in for a long wait, we both made comments about how we thought they should have more cashiers on a Saturday afternoon. An employee overheard and got a manager who then came to me and asked me if I could keep my comments to myself instead of helping their customers and opening another check stand. Naturally I got upset and told them what terrible service this was. Had security tell me to calm down after being provoked by the manager. I went to return 3 non opened printer ink boxes without my receipt. I was denied to return them. Nothing in writing on the walls saying no ink can be returned. I love Walmart, but not this location on N. Rose Ave, in Oxnard, Ca. On Sunday, 07/30/23, my husband and I shopped at this location. I went into the store to get a scooter for my husband while he waited in the car. We made our way into the store and conducted our shopping. Upon exiting the store, my husband was stopped by an older greeter employee by the name "Manuel." He proceeded to tell my husband that he could not take the scooter outside. Manuel then pointed to the "in store" sign on the scooter as if we could not read. We explained to Manuel that my husband could not walk to the car, that he needed the scooter for assistance, and that I would return it back to him once I got my husband settled. Manuel got really rude and started arguing with us. Reiterating the scooter can not go outside the store. After going back and forth with him, about the scooter, he then said, "fuck you, and don't come back." My husband asked him to repeat what he said. I thought he called us the "N word," by the way my husband reacted. Manuel repeated what he said, and that's when a manager (didn't get his name) walked over to us and asked if we were okay. We explained to the manager what happened, and he apologized for the greeter's behavior while escorting us to our car. I walked back into the store and cussed Manuel out, told him how rude and unprofessional he was, and I would be reporting him to the district manager. His response was, "Okay." Walmart, your employee need sensitivity training and learn how to work with the public. He can't say whatever he wants to say and thinks no one is going to approach him on it. read more
