Stopped by the Ross on Rose Avenue and it was a hit-or-miss treasure hunt. I scored a Skims sweatshirt and a few fitted caps including a Lakers Realtree and a DR World Classic baseball cap,, the shelves are well stocked, especially the home section which is definitely worth it. ​The only problem... The line was brutal. I spent 28 minutes in a checkout line with only two registers open. By the afternoon, the store was trashed with messy racks and scattered shoes. If you can stomach the chaos and slow service, the selections are great. Ross's clothing is not the best quality however shoes .... I found Hoka shoes for 79.99! For me, Hoka's are the best for my feet. I also find a lot of my house goods products here for cheap. Oh and I have purchased so many cute sterling silver earrings here as I am allergic to most fashion jewelry. I stop at Ross a few times a month to window shop, pass time or return what I bought a week before. Haha .. I go crazy buying shoes, jewelry etc and then have buyer's remorse! Returns within 30 days! There's always such a long line, I hardly come here because it's the messiest store they have from Ventura county. The restrooms always smell by the toy area. I was in line for over 20 minutes. They always have 2 cashiers in the front. 9 registers and only 2 cashiers up front lol. read more

Worst Ross ever! Well, I sat on my car eating my lunch trying to decide if I was actually going to go into the store again or not, I made the poor decision to go in. They stopped me at the door and instructed me to only use a cart that has a pole on it. Seriously?! So annoying! We all know that we cannot get our packages out to our car with this cart. I proceeded to shop a bit, saw that they carry none of the namebrand hair products all of the other Ross's carry, and then headed down to the toy section. Stopped in the ladies room on the way, which was equivalent to going to a restroom on the street in Tijuana . The smell was horrendous and it was filthy. After about a half an hour of looking through a lot of junk, I headed to the register, Only to find 25+ people in line! I asked the third lady in line how long she had been there, her reply was "quite a while", Put my stuff down and left. I need to remember not to ever go in here again and to trust my instincts, remember my past experiences, yes, plural. read more

This Ross is great. Has a large variety of clothing and household items for much less than retail price. really like the selection of merchandise but the employees treat you like you're a criminal from the moment you walk in the door. for me at least, times in my life I had to get away from my home , trauma shopping, just Wes to disappear for a moment, (DV PAST, health diagnosi, deaths of loved ones) I go shop- they follow or pop up every few aisles to ask how you're doing , then as I was checking out, a longgg line behind me, the female cashier , rips the price tag off one item and says loudly "that's the wrong price on this item !". o ask her for a correct one , I did look through all clearance and found that item there - she makes up and quotes a ridiculous price. - treating me like I switched the tags!!? I asked why she was implying I was responsible for switching tags ?! I went to my car (purchased rest of items ) and cried. I do not steal , maybe I look disheveled, when I shop late alone at nights , but it's because I struggle with depression and crazy trauma and nevwr had a Ross employee that was outstanding or kind. sad read more

As I have said before most Ross Stores I either love or hate. This one I like a whole lot. Not only is it right down the street from where I live but I had a great experience returning a fitted shirt here the other day. I had bought a fitted dress shirt and when I arrived home it did not fit quite right. I had of course taken it out of the wrapper and taken out all the pins and stuff they use to make it look all nice so I did not know if they were going to be cool about me returning it. They did not bat an eyelash when I returned it...not a problem what-so-ever. The store itself is just like any other Ross...its somewhat hit or miss as far as selection...you go one day and the stuff will be somewhat different from the last time you were there. Then the line to pay is wrapping around the store. I waited in line for close to an hour just to buy a simple sweater. This is totally unacceptable. I get it... it's Ross but when you run out of toilet paper and SOAP & have a Walmart and Vons next door and don't bother getting some for your customers is disgusting! Health Department needs a call.. I still love Ross but please take your time to go to the Ventura location, much nicer and I know for sure they have toilet paper. read more

Let me just start off by saying that one does not go to Ross for outstanding customer service or neatness. No, one goes to Ross for a bargain. The company overworks their employees and this particular store has really messy customers and they have one employee cleaning up the entire store alone until closing. Also, the whole receipt thing isn't a big deal. The printer faces you and it's easy to take the receipt and place it wherever you want. The store is high volume and understaffed, but you can't beat those prices on new clothing. Sometimes the lines are long and the service could be better. The employees are polite and I really just go there to browse. Sometimes you find amazing deals, and sometimes not. CK dress pants for 0.49? Yay! Take my receipt? No problem. The people whining about having to take the receipt themselves are being petty, entitled, and privileged. It's obvious it is store policy so the workers don't have a say in the matter. Contrary to what someone else said, they do give money back within thirty days with receipt. You get store credit for no receipt or past thirty days. read more

Every time I come here to this location I come for just one thing in mind and then I end up coming out with more than I anticipated. I meant to buy a Everlast yoga mat but ended up also purchasing 2 tank tops, a shirt for a present, 12 pairs of socks, and some everlast workout elastic belt that is suppose to trim my belly lard and tone my abdominals. This place makes me become a shopaholic. However, it's great savings and I love that FRESH poppin tags feeling when I do my thing on the weekend! The employees were alright..not to into customer service nor jovial. I'm not going to hold that against them since it was late afternoon. I can empathize from personal retail experience. I agree, going to Ross is like going through a garage sale. You can find some good stuff if you look hard and long enough. So far I've had good experiences here and have found some cool stuff. I always check the shoe aisle, I have found a couple of cute pairs of shoes here, one BCBG pair that I especially love. I also recommend buying your bathroom rugs here, the memory foam sets go very cheap. All the other home accessories are nicely priced as well. I don't really like going for the clothes because they are a little disorganized as some other reviewers have pointed out. If you have the time to go through each piece of clothing then I guess its cool. If you are looking for clothing deals, just keep in mind there are more organized, little stores in the mall where you can find cuter things for the same price. Keep in mind I haven't really found designer brands at Ross, if thats what you are looking for, I suggest you hit up the Nordstrom Rack in Oxnard. Also.. they don't really offer money back on returns, they usually hand out store credit so make sure you think twice before spending. read more

I went in today dec 23rd with my cousin, she was wanting to buy a coat or jacket. I went off to the beauty area then I noticed the security guard circling me and watching me. Then another Male employee began doing the same, neither one asked me anything so I asked the security guard why he was following me. This guy began saying " I ain't following you " over and over then began walking toward me getting in my face. I'm a woman mind you, i thought security was supposed to also be there for customers safety. He tried intimidating me by getting in my face. Then I spoke to the manager but she was just as bad telling a coworker to go tell security he and i quote "he f%cked up" . I Sent a detailed email to Corporate. Came here today & waited more than 2 hours to go in. Due to the virus they had two lines, one for the general public & the other for people "at risk." The employees didn't handle the lines correctly and many people cut us and went in before us. Not fair that I waited so long, plus when I told an employee about the ppl that were cutting he didn't do anything. They need to improve their service and handle this situation better! read more

Ross is one of the most slept on places. I come mostly for home decor and children's clothing. I find the cutest trinkets and clothes and shoes for my son here. It can be a bit crowded and messy but it's a good spot. Plus it's right across the street from my job so lunch time shenanigans are always on. read more

Came to this store and looked around found quite a few things I liked and at good prices. I went to the dressing room and I could only try 8 items at once. I took my first 8 tried them on came back out handed the girl 4 items and said I wanted to try on my next 8. I come to find out they were gone. She said, "oh unless u see them here they have already been taken back to the racks." I wasn't In the dressing room more than 5 minutes. It was ridiculous! Called to check and see if they had a pillow I previously purchased at another Ross. I could not understand anything she said because she spoke so fast. Kept me on hold for 15 minutes only to tell me they couldn't look to see if they had the pillow. Her exact words "Even if I had someone go look they probably couldn't find it anyway. I went to Ross, and it was busy as usual which is expected at a store like this also being that it was a Saturday. They had a lot of cashiers open and that made the line go faster. I went to the kids section to get some clothes for a one year old girl. I normally don't shop on the kids section, but today I had to get something from there because it was the nearest clothing store from where was I and affordable. I went there expecting to find known brands such as Oshkosh, Carters, Children's place. I only seen two brand items that were not in good conditions, but like I mentioned earlier is expected and you might just be lucky and find something nice, once in blue moon. Before they used to carry more brand items in clothing, now they have most of the items from Fashion District in LA. Almost, all of their clothing for women have the brands that you see in LA Fashion District and those are really cheap made material. The main reason why I'm writing a review for Ross on N Rose Ave, Oxnard is because I'm very unhappy of the customer service they provided to me today as I was paying. When I was paying for my three items Associate #360888 (number of associate listed on my receipt) took my payment, she stated, "when you are ready you can take your receipt" Which was completely the wrong way to end up a customer service. No where else they provide this type of a service. They have always given me the option to decide weather if I want my receipt inside the bag or on my hand. This cashier could not even hand me the receipt from the printing device?! I had to grab the receipt from the device. That just made me very upset.Not a good experience at this store location! I would've left the items, but I needed them for the same day, and did not had the time to go somewhere else. :( read more

I am taking the time to write a review at midnight, because of my bad customer service experience i was given by the employee "Rita" . Originally my visit was a return, then decided to browse and shop, a few minutes into my shopping, I picked up a about five items that where great finds in this retail store where there isn't multiples or over stock of anything , then at about 11:15 pm the power in the store goes out, as soon as that happened I walked up to the store employees, and besides myself there was a mother and her two adult daughters and a child in store at the time of the incident. I have worked in retail customer service field for 10 plus years. That the right thing to do in this case scenario by "Rita " in which she FAILED to do is by telling me and the other customer , that she doesn't guarantee that our items will be here tomorrow , due to the fact that she is off and that we needed to exit the store, I asked Rita if I can at least leave my name and info so that when i am off from work tomorrow i can purchase my items, again Rita says she does not guarantee that this option is possible, which i found very unprofessional of her to say. Again i said , to Rita , "you are really refusing to take my information down to contact me ?" , and her response was that , ( "that was not important , fixing her store problem was more important, which i agree but this was definitely not the correct way to handle this situation. where is the customer satisfaction in this situation and going the extra mile , and communicating with the next days store staff and filling them in with what happened the night before and call me to my phone number and let me know that my items are on hold and will be under my name o i can come in store and purchase them and keep a happy returning customer... I really hope this employee Rita thought about how she could of handled this situation better and placed my items on hold... read more
