As unpleasant as it is to go to Walmart, they used to get you in and out because of adequate staffing levels. Now not even that. More than half the check out lanes were closed, maybe 5 lanes were open and the self check out was packed. I'll avoid this store like the plague and keep taking my business to Aldi's. My friend has a1 potential as a football player and we went to get him a football as a gift, we were testing it out and tossed is maybe 2 feet and some rude "manager" came and said it was his store and we had to leave. I'm not a huge Walmart fan, but sometimes they're worth checking out. I've only shopped for groceries here, and only for staples, not meat or produce. They have a pretty good selection of groceries, actually, and some occasional surprises, like frozen REAL jumbo lump crab cakes (which are pricey, even here). Lots of ice cream, including premium brands like Ben & Jerry and Haagen-Dazs (they have the sorbets, which are excellent). There's also a fairly extensive selection of Mexican items -- they even carry Coronado brand cajeta (Mexico's version of dulce de leche, made from goat milk). It's the best brand and not everywhere carries it! Another thing that's a good buy is the store-brand lactose-free milk -- much cheaper than the name-brand at the supermarkets! What's nice is that if you can't find what you're looking for at Walmart, you're just minutes away from a Hen House, a Hy-Vee, an Aldi and a Price Chopper, all on E. Santa Fe. Quite the concentration of supermarkets in just a few blocks! Didn't check out the restrooms, so can't comment on them. Service was friendly -- one of the kids working there stopped and asked if he could help me find something and was able to point me to the right aisle. read more

I'll head to this Walmart about once a year. I never really look forward to it, but in reality, it's fine. The parking lot can be a bit of a mess, but the store itself is fairly well laid out. Staff are barely around, but the cashiers tend to be friendly enough (and in the most recent case, extremely friendly). The selection is, of course, quite large. Much of the stuff is cheap crap, but they do have some quality products as well. That being said, my wife said that prices on the quality stuff aren't much different than at Target, which I find a much more relaxing place to visit. read more

This is got to be the worst Walmart in the state of Kansas. Customer service is unprofessional. I placed an order online and it was about to expire and be canceled I called customer service the day before spoke with Jacob asked him to please put a note on the account that I was going to be in the following day he said he would do that and when I got to the store on the following day and had been canceled and no one can seem to find the item that I had purchased. not to mention customer service ran around acting like they knew nothing about anything as they usually do no help whatsoever. I should've planned better but didn't. I have my arm in a sling recovering from shoulder surgery. I needed 2 bags of soil and compost. I am only supposed to lift max 5 pounds. I have help at home getting rhem out of car. The male employee refused to load the bags saying "We're not allowed to." A woman customer volunteered quickly to help me. Much appreciated and the employee stood and watched. Then another kind patron put them into my trunk. I've read plenty of bad comments about Walmart but the customers are great. read more

This is the worst walmart av ever been to, I went there a couple of days ago for an oil change. they took my info as usual and I informed the guy that one of my door handles was broken so if need be i can either stay out there till they are done or roll my windows down so they can access it from inside. he told me all willl be fine and i decided to go shoppping, after abt 10 min they called me back and I was told they cannot change my oil bcoz they cant open my drivers side door. to make it worse they didn't completely shut the hood and as i was driving out the thing popped open. Then they called me a few minutes later telling me, "WE MIGHT HAVE LEFT YOU HOOD POPPED SO CHECK TO CONFIRM" what a shame for such a huge store. Last week my wife went to wal mart with my two kids (4 and 2). As she was leaving a woman approached my wife with her cart and bags (this part was ok it's her job to ask) and ask to see her cart and receipt. My wife confused as she had came from check out line asked why. The woman replied, "well you know that feeling you get when your around Hispanics?" My wife replied that was racist and wrong. By this time other people had been walking by and gathering and my wife very distraught by this time asked why she wasn't asking for anyone else's receipts. The floor managers "apologized" and said it was supposed to be a joke. Who jokes like that? The region manager Jeff called me after I had contacted the region office about this issue. He was very nice and apologized profusely and ultimately he offered a $300 gift card for my wife's experience and he informed me as did Jaime the store manager wal mart doesn't condone or support racism and that employee would be out of there store immediately. A week later on July 4th I go to the store with my wife as we were both trying and willing to move on from the experience since we had Jeff's assurance he would terminate the employee. As we're walking into the store my son was the one who noticed the lady and said hey mom that's the lady who called you a Hispanic! I have unfortunately been having to explain race relations to a 4yr old since last week and it's still fresh on his mind as if he is ashamed of being half Hispanic. Jeff lied to me and by extend Jaime lied to me saying that wal mart doesn't condone his behavior which is a lie the employee got a slap in the wrist at best as she was still there greeting people a week later. The management at this store just doesn't care. I have been in a cast for over 6 weeks, and I only shop every 2 weeks. The past 2 times I went shopping there, they had no mobility carts. When we went to a manager last time, they said they only had 8 (for a store this big that is ridiculous!). Then yesterday we decided to go around dinner time hoping there would be a mobility cart available...no. My husband went to two managers (one was Jason, and didn't catch the other ones name), and they said they only have 6 that are working, but didn't apologize or act concerned. There was an elderly lady on crutches that walked in after us, and she was frustrated too. We are not shopping here anymore! read more

Before the Walmart located off of K7 highway was built this Walmart was my only choice and the other day I had to stop by here for something quick whilst realizing how much I cannot stand this location! Isle width is super narrow, you can't ever find a checkstand open and the worst thing is their inventory hardly ever being re-stocked! I do not recommend this Walmart. read more

06-22-2018 - The Olathe Wal-Mart store manager, Dawn Wheeler is NEVER in...or has instructed staff to SAY she is never in. The check out lanes are often reduced 1 MAYBE 2 lanes open....and the 1 or 2 lanes that ARE open have 5-6 people with carts full of items, waiting to be checked out. It is a long wait to get checked out at this particular Wal-Mart. This is not an OCCASIONAL occurrence. This is SOP...Standard Operating Procedure for this Wal-Mart Store. The Automotive Department is a nightmare. Go to Yelp reviews for some really in-depth, revealing reviews of this store. Also, the store is messy and un-kept in general. Shelves not stocked. Just extremely poor management. I finally called Bentonville, Arkansas at 1-479-273-4000 to get my issue resolved. Wal-Mart has a 3 business day time frame in which to respond to my issue per the Bentonville, Arkansas representative, who filed the complaint/issue DIRECTLY to the Olathe, KS Wal-Mart store on my behalf. Also, the information the Bentonville, Arkansas representative shared with me to get my electronic return issue resolved was totally different from what I was told at the 395 N. K-7 HWY, Olathe, KS, 66061 store. I strongly felt I was straight up lied to from management AND salaried members of management. This will catch up with the store management some day. read more

Shortly after returning from a weekend trip over Labor Day, I discovered that my car battery was dead, so I headed to my local Walmart (#577) to get a replacement. This was Tuesday (9/8). I got in my car this morning & my battery was completely dead again. Since I had just replaced it less than a week ago & being advised that it could be a problem with my alternator, I had my vehicle towed to Firestone right across the street. I got a call after lunch (from the honest guys at Firestone) that it was not my alternator, but the battery I had purchased less than a week ago, was manufactured 11/2013 & was no good. After having them replace the battery, I returned to Walmart to return the faulty battery that never should have been sold to me in the first place & get the $120 back that I paid for it. The young man at the register (Lee) was very courteous & did apologize for the inconvenience, but did advise that he would have to call the automotive manager (Eric) to authorize the return. Judging by Eric's attitude, I can completely understand why customer service is so lacking in this store. If he is a "leader" in this store, it is clear to see that your management training is lacking & you could care less about your customers. He was by far the rudest, most unprofessional manager that I have ever encountered. He actually tried to blame the fact that they sold me a faulty battery that was nearly 2 years old on me and at first insisted that there was nothing wrong with it! My husband & I have previously used Walmart for tire changes, oil changes, in addition to everyday household items, but will not be returning for any future purchases. Your blatant disrespect for your customers has lost a customer for life & I'll be sure to let everyone know what type of service they can expect from your "management". read more

I have patronized this Wal-Mart location for over 10 years. Until today I have received typical retail service. Today I was purchasing earrings for my daughter. After waiting for some time the employee helped a couple who was there before us. I am ashamed to even report what happened next. A minority couple who arrived after us was helped first. I politely stated that we arrived first and requested help. The employee, who was also a minority, refused to help our family. When my wife reported this to customer service another customer who was a minority said this employee has demonstrated this behavior in the past. The store director was helpful but I cannot believe my civil rights were violated be a Wal-Mart employee who was on the clock. read more

So I take my car in for an oil change at the automotive center, roughly around 12:30pm. The tech said it would be a few hours before its done and I asked if it was alright if I left and picked it up later, they said sure we'll call you when it's done. Fast forward to 7:30pm, still no call. After I called multiple times with no answer I finally decided I would just go to the store and see what's going on. Come to find out my car had been done since 1:40. Really? Then when I go out to the back lot to get my car it's unlocked. I get that it's not a Porsche or something but COME ON! Pissed doesn't even describe how I'm feeling. Such AWFUL customer service. Won't ever take my car there again. read more

Pick up tower/ordering online. I ordered a costume and it was suppose to be ready on 10/8/19 and then it send me an email saying it was delayed to 10/11/19. I saw on the app showing it was in the store being processed since 10:16am on 10/11/19 and i asked them if they can get the item even if it did not say its ready to pick up but clearly the app says they have it at the store processing. The CSM said she cant do anything because the people that are in charge of the pick up orders are closed at 8pm (i went at 8:16pm). I saw that it was ready the next day 10/12/19 and i went in the afternoon and the tower was down. I asked them is there a way they can take it out of the tower and give it to me. She said its in the tower and there is no way to take it out. In addition, she said they did not know when it was going to be fixed. I called again in the evening on 10/12/19 the tower was still down. Called twice everyday since then and the tower is down still and the are unable to take the stuff out of the tower and they still do not know when its going to be fixed. One CSM told me the tower has gone down about 4 times in the last week. I just do not understand why they didn't think about how to take it out if the tower if it went down. I called the Walmart.com customer service and they stated they cant do anything either. They only can give me a refund. The customer service also did not understand why Walmart did not know when its was going to be fixed. So I'm out of luck with my son's costume that i need this weekend. Now i have to pay like $40 for a costume that Walmart was selling for $18 because their tower is not working. read more

The check-out at this Wal Mart SUCKS the big one! Lately, no matter what time we go to buy grocery, we have to stay in LONG lines. The majority of times out of 30-40 built cashiers, only one less then 20 is open and one regular. This makes it long, long lines all the way to clothing section. The last 2 weekends has been really bad. When the lines get long at one cashier, the manager opens one and helps, but then when your cashier makes a mistake and needs override on the register, you still have to wait 10-15 minutes before the manager now cashier can get away and come to take care of the override. Amazingly frustrating! I'm a professional and my time is money. It's rather sad how this WM would make me wait 15-20 minutes to checkout, just so they won't have to pay minimum wage to have an extra cashier on hand to speed up their check-out. I've complained to this store and to the corporate, but they don't seem to care. I know I've switched to Hy Vee, but my vote is to shut this store down until they get their act together and take care of people quicker. read more

My son, who is 18 years old and his younger brother went to the electronics department to purchase some games (for the younger brother). They were told they needed an adult to authorize the purchase and it couldn't be my adult son. Frustrated, I went to Wal-Mart and asked why my son couldn't purchase the games for his brother. The associate told me it would be like someone buying alcohol for a minor. So, what? Now I'm buying the alcohol? It makes not difference if me as an adult purchases the games or my son as an adult purchases the games. Grow up Wal-Mart and use some common sense! read more

I went in at 7:30 am to get couple of money orders and get few things on Monday morning 2/15/2016. I was told the night before that they open at 7am the customer service center and will be able to get the money order from them. I walked with my 3 year old and there was 2 employees behind the counter. One of them walked out the area as soon as we walked in. The other one, a heavyset older lady, turned away from us and walked back and started flipping over some tubs and straightening some things all while I was saying for service at the register. My daughter was been a chatter box as well and I was talking to her. After waiting for few minutes the employee looked up and said" Oh. I didn't see you there." I am calling B.S. on that one. Then she told me the money center won't be open until 8 and I would have to come back then. Now I know for a fact they can do money orders in the customer service center because I have gotten them from there before as well as the money center. I was so irritated by then I walked out and took my business somewhere else. I will probably go back but will never do the kind of shopping I used to do the there before that incident . Customers are who keep you in business and employed. Be curtious to your customers and do your job. read more

There are several reasons why the Walmart on Alden street should be avoided. One is when it comes to customer service they are rude. Two is when you ask a clerk who works there if they have a certain item and theyre answer to you is they honestly dont know, this means either that person got lack of training when it comes to customer's or the store is so big that they dont know what the store actually carries, which is really sad if the person whom you asked this question to is the person in charge of that department. Another thing is the price matching, Walmart does not tell customers that they do price match, it is not even posted on they're doors, so unless you know by word of mouth that Walmart supposedly price matches the clerks do not tell you and if the item is a promotional item at another store Walmart does not stand behind they're price matching then either, they simply say if you want it for that price then go to that store. Also lets not forget how some of these people dress for work, i thought they there was suppose to be some kind of dress code but yet you walk in and there are people who look like they've just rolled out of bed to drag themselves into work. Lets not forget how they treat they're employees either, for instance, if you miss more than 3 days of work in the first 6 months you get wrote up for it, what happens if you have had the flu and are out for a week with a doctors note and they dont accept doctor's note's what happens do you get fired?? And lets not forget the phone, god forbid if you call them to see if they have a particular item and they keep you on hold for 20-30 minutes trying to find someone that can actually answer your question. Walmart has become a monopoly now that they think they can draw in more customers they are now making they're items as cheaply made as they sell them and if you dont have your receipt dont expect cash back for the junk you just bought because you wont get it. read more

This walmart has the worst customer service i have ever expeirenced. I will drive way out of my way or got to target to avoid this store. Many issues have accured but the most appauling was when i came in with my 7 yr old niece and tried to by some candels. I had a coupon for buy one get one and as i pulled it out of my purse in front of the clerk i ripped it at the top. Because it ripped right over the expire date he said he could not take it. I got frustrated and asked for a manager as i had just ripped it but knew the coupon did not expire until july... well the manager came over, looked at it and said i was a liar that i had ripped it on purpose because she knew it expiered in may!! I was so mad. I had just cut that coupon out 2 days prior and for her to call me a liar in front of my niece was just wrong. I left very upset and went to another store and they took the coupon just fine. Another time we asked for help0 getting a pool because my grandma had just had hip surgery and i could not lift it by myself. We had to ask 4 people before anyone finaly came after 20 min of waiting and then we paid for it and he was suppose to help us get it in the trunk but he said he could not without help and we had to wait another 20 min at our car because no one he called would come help. it is just crazy.
