This place is awesome! Not only tremendous merchandise and services, but tremendous employees!! I went in today with eyeglasses that had fallen apart, due to a screw falling out and getting lost. I have zero spare money and warned them that I might not be able to pay much for repairs or replacement screws. A wonderful woman who worked in the Vision Center, gave me a screw AND repaired my glasses for free! I can't wait to have some spending money again, so I can use it there!! read more

I purchased an Rowenta Iron yesterday. When I open it up it had been used. They didn't check when whoever brought it back, and then put it back on the shelf to sell it again, there was water in the Iron still. This is the second time this has happened to me. If you purchase something take it to the service desk and have them check it before you buy it. I was on hold for over 10 minutes waiting for a manager to talk to, no one came back on the line to see if I was wanting to still hold. I called 4 more time to end up talking to one of the service deak. I will no longer be purchasing Items like this because they put used items back on the shelf. read more

****July Update**** Sadly, the constant harassment of Black and brown customers continues. We have been to this Wal-Mart four times in the last two weeks and every time we check out, we have employees bee line to our register and vigorously watch us. It was blatantly obvious this time to the point where I said, "Don"t worry. We aren't going to steal anything." I love how she went to another employee after I confronted her and started making fun. I really do not find it funny. I just want to get my groceries and go. If I really wanted to steal, I would have done it. I wish grocery prices were not so high. Everyone is feeling the pinch and sometimes, families have to go to three stores just to feed a family. I am really starting to consider shopping somewhere else where me and my family are not harassed every time we check out. What's even more sad is my husband has to scan items and hold the receipt upon leavbecause that lessons the chances of them aggressively watching us. It is getting old. In another review, I mentioned that the Target near us has self-check and I do not get harassed. It might be time to start shopping there more for peace of mind. read more

This Walmart is OK. It's about the same as any super Walmart, with groceries and home goods. Some friendly staff, and some that would rather you get out of their way. Everyone knows all the products Walmart carries, and your expectations should be set along those lines. I visit here from work to grab supplies and food, from time to time. The parking lot is quite busy, and the layout, in some ways, doesn't make sense to me. I'm used to a different Walmart, LOL! I use the app when I am visiting to quickly find the things I need, and get out. I will certainly go back, but I mean, it's just a Walmart like every other one. If you live or work in the area, then likely you have or will shop here at some point. It's a law of nature. read more

I've been here several times and have had the typical Wal-Mart experience - get the stuff (usually at a cheap price), stand in line and get out. this review is for their pick-up service. I came here to pick up groceries. I pulled up to kiosk and punched in my order number, and there was line of cars. I waited for 15 minutes before calling the phone number posted where I was greeted with "what's your problem?" the clerk explained to me that they have been behind for 2 hours all day and had no idea how long my wait would be. So many things at this location have gone down hill. Much more limited selection of items. There are a lot of things they don't carry any more. Produce used to be good...now just ok. Prices are not that low anymore. I can get most things cheaper at Target. (really!) They also insist on detaining customers when leaving as if it's Sam's or Costco. This is not legal in Kansas. You have to have probable cause. If you ask them, they can't name any probable cause. The last guy that stopped me said "if you don't like it, don't shop here." Ok. Will do. Being a working man myself on this particular hot day in the sun. I can see why they didnt want to help me as I show up for tires on the last minute that they accept vehicles. They tried to push me out but I really was asking for some help, told them that "more time, is more money" and to help a fella out. They ended up taking it and working it out for me, im extremely thankful for the fella with the birthmark on his face. I could tell he didnt wanna do it but he put in the work and for that reason im coming back for more tires this weekend. He came around and had a great attitude after it was all done. Took him and the team 25 minutes with no problems and the quote came out perfectly, Huge thanks to that guy. He buckled down and got her done then went home. Thanks buddy if youre reading this u got my respect and future business. Extra effort for the right people is ALWAYS worth it my friend. I have no sympathy for people who arent willing to work a little extra. but much respect for the ones who embrace the fact that life sucks and they roll up and get it done and end up proud of goin the extra mile, fight the urge to quit. This is specifically about the TAN COLORED, WRANGLER WORK SHORT SLEEVE T-SHIRT. This is the most superb shirt I have ever wore; the material sits on my skin like a unicorn sits on a cloud. The versatility on styling this shirt is endless. I can throw it on with some black shorts for sitting around the deck with the boys, I can put it on with some jeans for dinner with the in-laws, or I could even throw it on with some sweats and a hoodie and you got the perfect airplane outfit. I never thought I would write a review for WalMart. They have their issues that many can list, but few take the time to actually compliment them even though they shop there all the time. I have been going to this WalMart for years and until recently, it was more of a chore than anything else. Now it has become a pleasant experience for one reason, Bill, the cashier that works on lane 1 on the grocery side. After going through his line a couple of times, he remembered me. I can not imagine the number of people that he has pass through his line daily and to be able to remember his customers after two or three visits is amazing. I watch him interact with people as I wait my turn and his service is not saved for the regulars, although he does appear to have a fan club that frequents his check out line, like me. He is always smiling, friendly, makes small talk while being incredibly efficient. Things you just don't generally associate with Walmart. I have reached the point that when I walk in that is the first thing I do, look to see if Bill is working! I will wait in a line instead of going to an empty line for his service. He only works a few days a week and I do not know what days although I do seem to always catch him there on Fridays, but if you do stop by and see Bill working, make sure you check out in his lane! Now if Walmart could just do something about the quality of their produce! (Especially the zucchini and yellow squash, it shouldn't be soft when lightly squeezed, just saying. And strawberries should not go bad in 3 days... I'll stop...) read more

Usually busy, but the staff is generally pleasant. Some of the other local Walmart's employee the sort that look at your children a little too long. Thank goodness Walmart got sense to open another Walmart. When all of Olathe and Gardner was going to this one, it was pure .... I refused to go anytime on weekends and evenings. Most of the time I would wait to shop after midnight. Now that Gardner has their own and the nice K-7 Walmart for us downtown Olatheans. The blackbob Walmart isn't as bad as it use to be. They've also wised up in removing all of the pillars of stuff in the middle of the aisles. Feels so much roomier now. I still have to go here because it's still bigger than the K-7 Walmart, hence more stuff. At least I don't have to wait until after midnight anymore. read more

If I could give this store 0 stars I would. I came by today at 3:40pm desperately needing a new car battery. When I walked in no one spoke to me until I said "hello?" There was one guy working on one car and no one else working on cars, but sitting down doing nothing. Instead of asking me what I was there for they immediately said "we're closed". Desperate I asked if there was any way they could squeeze In a battery change and their response was "we are closed" yet again. It wasn't until my husband walked in that they started actually paying attention to my issue. But instead of helping us they pointed us to O'Reillys across the street. Apparently their "closer" who was suppose to work until 5pm didn't show up so they allowed themselves to shut down the auto care early and gave away business to a competitor down the road. This is a busy location. I love the parking as it is wide and bidirectional. Conveniently located in the heart of Olathe. Not close to me but certainly in driving distance of many of my travels. Staff has always helped me every time I've needed it, though most of us should know Walmart like our own homes by now. Im not sure if it says anything about me but I'm always getting asked questions from people thinking I work there. I'm always happy to help but maybe I need a job since I seem to be so fitting. :-) This store is usually more clean and organize than many but it is bigger than most as well. read more

I went in this Walmart to get a simple pregnancy test because I've been having symptoms the last few weeks. I saw that they now have the pregnancy tests in a lock box with the condoms. So I pressed the red button to page someone with the keys so I could get my pregnancy test and leave. I waited for 40 minutes. I stopped by at 6:20pm on Tuesday, July 21st to get a simple oil change. A guy came up to the car to let me know they were short staffed and it would be about 30 minutes before they could start. I said that was fine because I had a lot of shopping to do in the store. Surprised that I was willing to wait, he then said he needed to go check with his manager. He walked over to three men leaning against the side of the brick building doing nothing, I heard the "manager" laugh and say no way. The guy then walked over and said his boss was being a jerk and was refusing to service my car. At least if you are going to pretend to be too busy, don't have four guys standing around doing nothing without a single person inside the garage actually working. I then went over to the Jiffy Lube across the street and was greeted with a smile and they performed my oil change in about 10 minutes. I really hate this place so much. I mean the produce section is really useless. Unless of course you love apples with worms in them or moldy potatoes. Or black cilantro. Rotton tomatoes. Papaya so soft, a drop of water can fall on them and bruise them. And of course the list goes on and on. Wait a minute, did I say REALLY DISGUSTING POTATOES? And what REALLY irks me is the hugely annoying staff here. There's two kinds. The 40 to 50 year olds that have a problem with you putting on a baseball glove (no REALLY! testing a BASEBALL GLOVE?). Even worse are the power-trip starved individuals that have a problem with you taking a football, and tossing it to a friend in an EMPTY store aisle just ONCE. And sadly, there's the old folks. The people who (not by their choice) have to work at Walmart because every other business on Earth blatantly disrespects equal opportunity employment. These folks walk around in store sections you know they really should not belong (Meat dept. Automotive, heck even electronics for Pete's sake. Hey,you didn't start reading a one-star Walmart review and expected not to get some controversy?) Really, these individuals are better off going to the front of the store to hold hands with their best friend from high school, the infamous GREETER. I get it; we're supposed to hate Walmart. Yes, I understand they're evil. But you know what you're doing when you walk into one, and I refuse to give this place fewer stars when I know what it is, but still choose to enter. The quality of produce and meats are pretty poor. I once bought a package of Dole strawberries (that I checked for rot) on a Saturday, and when I went to wash them on Monday, the whole thing was furry with mold. Their meats seem to turn color sooner than you'd expect from their "good till" dates. But I will admit that they carry meats you wouldn't find at snobby Hen House...ox tail, tripe. Oh! Another thing is that their milk always seems to go bad before the expiration date. So, minus their "fresh" foods, the rest of the groceries are just fine - frozen foods, pre-packaged stuff. Pluses: one-stop shopping open 24 hours! this is one of the bigger, cleaner Walmart "Supercenters" around other services: bank, hair salon, nail salon, optometrist, Subway, Redbox In summary, don't go to Walmart if you need fresh veggies or an awesome cut of steak. It's more for a "Crap, my kid needs black posterboard for school tomorrow, I'm out of peanut butter, and we might as well stock back up on toilet paper even though it's 10:30 at night" trip. STAY WAY from the auto Dept! Been a long time customer, will never go to Walmart auto again. Horrible service. Eric, the auto manager, was rude and was walking away from me everytime I tried to talk to him. He treated me like dirt. Walking away while having a conversation like he's a King or something. He was not helpful and did not want to talk to me. They don't honor their tire warranties. Tires bought new from them and tires went bad after only 2 years. They refused to prorate new tires. Kept telling me it was my fault. They refused to do a rotate and balance even though I paid for lifetime rotate and balance. Shop supervisor said one tire was small even though it wasn't after I checked the size, he was just making stuff up. STAY WAY! read more

Today I told customer service, and an hour And a half later, thanks to baby bladder forcing another visit, nothing had been done. Grocery Pickup station needs a lot more staffing especially on Saturday night. As a DoorDash driver I waited over 30 minutes on Friday afternoon and finally had to decline the Dash because the order wasn't even ready for pickup. Saturday night I waited at least 30 minutes because "half the team called in so [they] were running way behind." Needless to say, our Dash was not profitable. read more

I used to always go to this Wallyworld and did it really more out of convenience. I was never really impressed with their grocery selection and the produce always looked like it was 2nd hand stuff and you really had to look at all of the food with a suspicious eye. I've since moved from that location and rarely ever go there anymore. However, I was there just the other day to help a friend out since he had just bought a garmin and overpaid. I did a shopsavvy scan on my G1 phone and found it was cheaper online at walmart.com. Well guess what? The store doesn't match their own online pricing, which I found comical. We asked the electronics supervisor why they wouldn't do this and they said they just don't do it. That was the best answer she could give us. So we went to the front counter and I told them, "Listen, you can refund the money and we will go to Best buy and get it for this price or you can match it with an override." Let's face it, they price match all of the time, but they didn't want to do it and told me that Best buy no longer price matches and it would be a waste of our time. We said we would take our chances, got the refund and went to BB. Guess what??? BB priced match w/o any questions. I ended up buying 2 new Garmins too. Wal-mart lost 3 sales on Garmins in a matter of 20 minutes. Needless to say they lost two customers when it comes to electronics. I am sorry to drag this on, but that happened on a Friday. I was doing some research over the weekend and found that the Garmins we bought went down in price at BB. Went there on Monday with a receipt and they gave me back the difference. As far as Walmart's go this one is ok. Like I have said of other Walmarts I usually only get Milk and Clif Bars here. Although I have started to notice that their can goods and paper products are very well priced. They are also great to stop in that last minute before a Birthday party because you forgot and grab a gift card and a greeting card. I have filled prescriptions here because they have generics for $4 and every dollar saved is awesome and can go towards more fun items. Everyone I have had as a checker or stock person has been friendly and helpful. I usually go over my lunch break and they haven't been worn down by the day yet. I have noticed go later around 1pm if you go at noon it is packed. read more

I needed to shop on the home and pharmacy side, but that entrance was roped off due to the current mask requirement. That meant I had to walk all the way to the grocery side just to go in--and to go back out when I was done shopping, as the other entrance was blocked off from the inside, too. Since I had hip surgery just over a month ago, this was no small inconvenience. I was winded and sore by the time I had gone in the grocery side (and there are more steps involved just going in that one entrance, with the current Covid arrangement), found my few items and checked out, walked all the way back to the grocery side to exit the store, then finally gotten to my car. Can Walmart not afford to have "mask compliance checkers" at both entrances? read more
