I am a fan of Aldi's produce department because of the fresh fruits and veggies at low prices throughout the year. This location did not disappoint, with its good produce area, clean sales area and typical super-fast and friendly checkout. Very nice! read more

Aldi's All Right With Me! I had never even heard of Aldi until moving back to the area 12 years ago, but with one exactly one mile from my new home I felt I needed to check it out. Thanks to a remodeling a couple of years ago, the parking lot is well maintained, marked, and accessible. That is where you meet with their ingenious way of collecting shopping carts: to release one from where they are all stored. You need to insert a quarter into a latch that chains it to the others. When you finish shopping and return your cart, your quarter is returned after you latch the chain to your cart! Costs are kept low without the need to assign labor chasing carts around the parking lot, or replacing carts that are stolen or damaged by traffic. Their logic is amazing! The store is always clean inside, and isles are wide enough for shoppers to pass each other. Another cost saving policy is not providing paper or plastic bags - you are expected to bring your own! They will sell you a bag at a reasonable cost if you have to have one. Oh, and you do need to "bag" your purchases yourself. Not providing bags or labor at the check out keeps their cost lower. Those savings are passed on to customers. On first pass, Aldi looks to me like an oversized Quick Trip rather than a super market. That does drive a slight reduction in stock, but selection is usually adequate. Balancing that is things like wine are priced better than anywhere else in town. In fact, it is the only place I go to for table wines. I am rarely familiar with the wineries, but have never been disappointed with any selection. The also have a number of frozen food items that are very tasty and reasonably priced. In the end I do plan for stopping by one of the super stores for an average of four or five items (e.g., distilled water, selected produce, and specific brands) each week. The only low note has been the short shelf life of berries and the like. With their low prices and helpful staff, Aldi continues to be all right with me! read more

The store reopened today after being closed for remodeling. Nice fix for the parking lot. It really needed to be resurfaced. The store entrance is more open and bright. I went over the noon hour so the rush of people checking out the store hadn't hit yet, and the grand opening is scheduled for September. Right away you notice the improved lighting and refreshed look. I was caught off guard that they kept the hideous floor tile...and the tile for the addition doesn't match. Same pattern but more yellow than gold. I loved the wider aisles. The new displays look good. They are still short on cashiers, however the checkout stands are much better. They're handing out $5 off coupons good for September and that's nice. Not sure but I think the wine section was better. With the potholes filled and wider aisles and nicer lighting I'll probably get back to shopping here as it is very convenient. Around of course the best part is the Aldi brands are very good and the prices are the best in town. read more

This is hands-down I buy as many of my groceries here as I possibly can Save a ton of money compared to even Walmart market place. So many other products are superior to namebrand and only about half the price. read more

The store is very clean. It is well stocked. The aisles are wide. We were able to find everything we needed.

Aldi is great for boxed items, but I've learned the hard way not to buy meat or produce here. The few times I bought strawberries, they were soft and brown within 2 days. Then another time I bought frozen boneless chicken to make something in the crockpot, and then while eating, discovered--you guessed it--a bone. Ewww. I will, however, say that their cheesecake is delightful, and anytime I need to bake cupcakes, etc for my students, I buy my ingredients here. read more

Aldi is a discount grocery store. The first thing you will notice that makes Aldi differ from other grocery stores are their shopping carts. As you approach the store, you notice in the cart stall that all the carts are connected one to another by a contraption and chain. To unlock and release the cart, you must insert a quarter. If you don't have a quarter, you cannot get a cart. I am not one to carry cash or change so many times, I will go inside where they inevitably have a stray cart around and will let me borrow it. If you do have a quarter, it stays locked into its slot until you return the cart, insert a key from the cart in front of it (you'll figure it out when you see it) and then it releases your quarter back to you. Neat. As you enter this Aldi, you will be forced to work down the cracker, cereal, chips, snacks aisle before you can hit the rest of the store. That's okay because you'll usually find something you like in this aisle. Now, after having patronized Aldi for a few years now, I am finding that their quality is getting better and better. It's still hit and miss though depending on the product you get. A lot of it is learning what products are good and what are not so good through trial and error. Some of their better products that we really enjoy which are very good quality are their: Potato Chips Pita Crackers (these rock although they are often broken up a bit) Fruit cups (for the kids' lunches) Chocolates (many imported from europe..check the label) Yogurt Soy Milk (it's mediocre) milk eggs cheeses lunch meats frozen juice concentrates canned fruits Bake at home (fresh) pizzas Powder Milk Bacon Frozen Fruits Hogie Rolls (for sub sandwiches) To name a few things. Sometimes, you'll get something where the quality is not as up to par as you hoped but that's just what the Aldi experience is all about. Go with your gut instinct on a product. If it looks questionable, skip it. After you've loaded up your cart, you head up front to the checkstands. There are only 4 of them and typically only one or two stands open. Don't be disappointed if you see only one with a long line. These lines move very quickly at Aldi because you bag yourself. The cashier just simply places your stuff in an empty cart and when you've paid, you go to the counter in front of the cashier to bag your goods. Oh and bags...you have to pay for those too, unless you decide to bring your own OR, Aldi places there empty cardboard boxes for you to use for free. If you want to purchase a bag from them it's like 6 cents for a paper bag. 10 cents for a plastic. Somewhere in that range. That tatooed employees with various body piercings are usually friendly. If not friendly, they are never rude or mean. They are just there to get paid. But when I ask for help or need a cart because I didn't bring a quarter, they are always helpful. Now what kind of savings do you get at Aldi? I would venture to say you will see savings anywhere from 30 to 50% from the regular grocery store. Aldi's produce is way less expensive than the regular grocery store but, sometimes the quality is not as high either. But, it's usually a really good deal. I bought a plastic carton of beautiful and tasty dark grapes for 2.95 approximately. This would have certainly cost me at least twice that amount at Hy-Vee or Price Chopper. 3.99 for a bag or oranges when they are going for 4.99 to 5.99 at other grocery stores. 1.25 for concentrated OJ when it's 1.65 at Price Chopper. 1.99 for a box of crackers that's 3.75 at Hy-Vee. You get the idea. In summary, Aldi is a great place to save a lot of money. It requires a little more effort on your part and some occasional trial and error with some of their products. Hit and miss but most of their items are very good quality. I am becoming more and more impressed with their chocolate selections, crackers and the like..many of the products imported from Europe. But on the other hand, I tried their Extra Virgin Olive Oil and it tasted like vegetable oil. So...hit and miss. But overall...worth it to me in the savings I get from shopping there. read more

Not bs here. You don't need any and the savings are passed on to you. If you shop here for your groceries and dolla gen for your toiletries there isn't need to deal with Wally World again. If it's been years since you tried Aldis try them now. The selection is better. Meat and produce have upped their game. I got four bags of groceries for the same price of one at the high v. Now I didn't save a nickel on gas with some bs program. Aldis doesn't have that. They don't need it. Wouldn't put up with it and I thank them for it. read more

I just checked out the store after the renovation and it is impressive. A very good selection and the prices are hard to beat. My only beef was the girl at checkout. She gave the appearance she was not happy being there the way she was slinging food into the cart as she was ringing them up. The people before me lost a package of blueberries all over the floor because the package popped open when the clerk just threw it in the cart.. Lady at checkout was very rude! I only had a few items(about 15) and several were multiple of the same item. I didn't get a cart and just used a flat box I picked up in the store. I had everything organized in the box so they could be removed, scanned, and replaced. Cashier rudely told me to remove everything from the box. How about a "please". It was busy so I didn't argue. I then placed the box inside the cart next to the cashier. As she scanned the items, she literally tossed the items into the cart. No attempt to even get them in the box. She then rudely told me to leave the cart as I tried to gather up my items and put them back I the box! Then no "thank you" or anything else. I tried to make your job easier and all you were was rude. If this is the way their employees are going to continue to treat customers, I won't be back. Also I have done this same thing with the box numerous times and it has never been an issue. read more

Aldi's is my favorite grocery store-feels like you are in Europe where people provide their own bags & carry their own groceries. Aldi's normally has best everyday prices & have expanded availability on products so aside from a very few items, it is my go-to for everything-great organic Greek yogurt, grass-fed ground beef, blue cheese crumbles, organic lettuce & great special buy cheeses from Europe. I figure I save realistically AT LEAST 1/4, maybe 1/3 average over chain markets & the quality is generally good-if any problem, they do a no question, immediate refund or replacement on any product in question. And the checkers are FAST. read more
