I've had a very mixed experience with grocery delivery and store delivery overall. There is a lot to like in terms of convenience and product availability, but the consistency really varies depending on the delivery driver. Some drivers follow instructions perfectly, deliver to the correct spot, and handle everything with care. Others don't seem to read the delivery notes at all, leaving groceries in incorrect locations or not following drop-off instructions. The item availability on the website can also be inconsistent. At times, items show as available when ordering, but then end up being split across multiple deliveries or substituted. I've had orders broken into several separate drop-offs, sometimes arriving in different ways and at different times, which makes planning a bit frustrating. The biggest issue for me is how the groceries are packed. Bagging is very inconsistent--items that should be separated often aren't. I've had refrigerated items packed with warm items, bread placed under heavier groceries, and chips sometimes bagged alone while more fragile items are mixed together. It feels like there needs to be more training and consistency in how orders are packed and organized. In one delivery, several items even arrived unbagged altogether, which added to the overall lack of consistency. Overall, I like the convenience and the wide selection Walmart offers, but the experience really varies too much from order to order. With better training for both packing and delivery handling, this could be a much more reliable service. read more

Standard issue Walmart for the most part. Went looking for beach towels and sandals, but given it was late in the summer season, pickings were slim. We did find inexpensive flip flops that met the need but the towels were a little more than what we aimed to pay. As with most Walmarts today, 95% of the registers were closed so small purchases were funneled to the self check line. There was a worker there directing traffic which helped the overall flow. Walmart+ is a great new program that offers free delivery by store personnel, free shipping & much more. Many times the shipment items are the next day by WalMart personnel. But I learned quickly that with on oncoming Tropical Storm there might be a need for more. When Ophelia became a threat to our area my Brother in Mississippi recommended a small propane burner to heat coffee & such should I lose power. He knew the importance of my coffee. As I spoke to him on the phone the closest WalMart had both the burner & propane tanks available for delivery the next day. By the time I got off the phone & placed the order, they were both out of stock. The burner was possible for next day shipping. But the propane couldn't be shipped. And that store was completely out. I finally found a six pack of the propane at this store. It's not much further from my house if you take Northampton Boulevard to Kempsville Road & enter via Lowery Road, completely avoiding Military Highway. But they were no longer delivering. I had to do Store Pickup the next day beginning at 11am. It was a tight window. There was a Rheumatologist appointment, which it looked like they weren't going to cancel, scheduled that same day. The next morning I got up early determined to be at the store exactly at 11am. But a check of the order on their App showed the product ready for pickup. I left immediately. The Store Pickup location for this store is conveniently located immediately to the left of where I entered via Lowery Road. It's clean & isolated from the remainder of the store parking. I pulled into a numbered spot. On the App you notify the store of your arrival & parking spot. In a short period of time a friendly young man came out with my order and secured the package in my vehicle. I left with enough time to actually eat before my doctor's appointment. My stress level was lowered considerably, I would highly recommend this store for either Delivery or Store Pickup. I don't do In store shopping anymore. So I can't speak to that experience. read more

These employees for starters should tie their shoes instead of leaving them untied and unstrapped. They spend more time on their phones and bull-sh+ting them helping shoppers. Terrible attitude. I came here to get some tools that I wanted to fix my bike trainer (crank puller, rubber mallet, etc.). The things I wanted were locked up in a case in the tools section. I pressed the button on the case to call for an associate and an automated voice said one was on the way, but after 15 minutes, no one had come. I went and found an employee who directed me to the auto care section of the store saying they could unlock it for me. There was no one there, but they also had a button to call for help there so pressed that. No one came. I asked two more employees for help, but they were equally as unhelpful. I placed an order online for linens (sheets) and when they arrive, I removed them from the package and washed them. when I removed them from the drye, I found the stitching from one of the pillow cases was coming out and the other was showing defective stitching. I initiated the return online and specified the item was opened. I received a barcode and instructions to drop it off at any Walmart. Theresa at the customer service desk refused to scan the barcode and take my return. She was unnecessarily rude and refused to acknowledge the email I had or the huge sign behind her which clearly stated walmart accepts returns within 90 days. I made my purchase 2 weeks ago. Fortunately, I was able to go online and complete my return but I have to make another trip to FedEx to do it. the "team coach" she works for was also extremely rude and refused to help. read more

The store is in the process of remodeling to make it a more pleasurable shopping experience. However, there was no excuse for the employees behavior. in front of another employee this employee was extremely annoyed when I asked to help me find an item. another nearby employee overheard and helped me find the item. Sometime later, when I passed the first employee again and tried to speak with her, she literally ran from me. She announced that if I needed to speak to her, I needed to walk with her. All in front of other employees. Looking for the store manager, JASON? Was to no avail. I was advised by a very helpful associate in electronics to contact the main office. April 7, 2025 went to Walmart Supercenter (drive up pick up). Waited 45 minutes, still no one brought my groceries. I then went to the door but no one was inside. After awhile other customers joined me at the door. Finally a young man came to the door, no compassion, no manager, absolutely NO HELP!!! I began to call the store only to be hung up on over and over!!! What kind of management team oversees this store. On top of that in October, 2024, had my oil changed few days later I smell burning, lifted my hood, the mechanic had spilled oil all over my engine... what can of place is this!!!! I'd give zero stars if possible. The least customer-friendly location. particularly with their lack of checkouts open. You limit who can use self-checkout but then only have 4 registers open on a weekend so the lines are constantly back to the clothing section. We were leaving the store with our screaming toddler. The man at the front stopped us and demanded to see our receipt, even though he saw us at the self check out. My husband declined and said we don't have time for this, our daughter is upset. He proceeded to take our cat litter out of the cart, and walk away with it stating "I need to scan it". So where do I begin ? From going to a lot of places and traveling and shopping at many Walmarts. This by far has to be the best I've even been to. The faculty are just so nice and attentive I believe the manager Jeffery is excellent and on point. I've seen him work with other employees and watched the leadership as a manager he's carried to reflect on the entire store and I like that in a day of corporate American shopping everyone in this Walmart was on the same agenda. Shelf's we're stocked information was given quickly and questions were answered. Worst online ordering/ Home Delivery ever! I ordered a TV that was to be delivered today. 530pm tried calling and left phone ring 20 times, nobody answered. On chat they helped only so much, said to wait till 8, that they had put a priority on it. Come 740pm, or still says preparing. On chat again and they said multiple drivers cancelled delivery, but couldn't state why. At this point and having to work 12 hr shifts next 2 days, I canceled order. Went to go shopping, spent an hour in the store then headed to garden and desperately wanted and needed to get the plastic Adirondack chairs, the whole purpose of this trip, well I was catching them at the end of their shift apparently so she wouldn't cash us out at the register and were in the process of locking the doors at 2:50 pm. I was being told I'd have to carry these 5 Adirondack chairs up to the front of the store. I left 400 worth in our cart and left. Have fun putting that away. Would've taken 2 minutes to cash us out but they were rude and when I went to leave you can't because they pen you into the store and you can only exit if you go the a register. This is the absolute worst Walmart I've ever had the misfortune of experiencing. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My boyfriend and I waited 3 hours for groceries that were never given to us, despite the app telling us that the groceries were picked up. We parked to pick up our order at 7:20pm-ish, and left at 10:00pm. We couldn't get ahold of anyone at the listed grocery pick up line, except for once. After 2 hours of waiting, we had 1 person come around to the cars and say that their system went down during the storm going on, and then said "okay, we'll get your order out shortly." An hour later and we still received nothing and could not get ahold of anyone yet again. People who came after us got their groceries, so what was the hold up? I understand that computer systems control a lot of the systems for item fulfillment, but the fact that no one could answer the phone or answer the door is infuriating. read more

Went at 6 am for early shopping. I wanted to check out at 0650 with an overflowing cart. There were no cashiers on duty, I was advised by the girl who was overseeing the self check out and customer service that I must use self check out as no cashiers were going to be on till after 8 am. Are you kidding me???? I have a cart overflowing with items, easily was over $400.... I walk with a cane, severe limp, I can't self check out this large order and pack it I can't believe they did not have a cashier available, what about a manager? I have been to Walmart's that the assistant w and managers were at the cash to help out to keep things moving . Not here.... Corporate Walmart really needs to have a look here and clean out the dead wood occupying employment positions. I am a self admitted anti Walmart shopper. No reason to go into all the details, but a few reason in the past has been poor attitude of clerks, trash in the parking lot and less than desirable clientele. This is not all stores, but it has been a pattern. I have probably only been to this store a dozen times in 10 years and it has been at best average, to below average. However, today I find myself writing a review due to stellar customer service by management. Parked the car and some carts around, but did not seem to be out of control like other times I have visited. Upon entering the store various debris in the entry way. No greeting by clerk who was just inside asking for receipts. Clerk did not stop me when bringing in a return to tag it. Walked to customer service and immediately asked for a manager due to a problem with returning an item at a VB Walmart 15 minutes prior. The middle aged black female addressed my concerns with a return over 90 days. There were many extenuating circumstances that caused it to be over the period. I had even put this in a tip several months back, but did not write a review and should have. The manager handled herself professionally at all times, listened to my concerns and addressed them all. At the end a resolution where both parties were satisfied at the end took place. Walmart may not be my go to, but I know what great customer service looks like. 5 stars on this one experience. The manager is a super star in my book and not just because I got my way. She was flexible on a policy due to circumstances that that made sense and instead of just saying no we both came out winners because I will be back. read more

The customer service is awful. On various occasions I have been in there and bought things here and there. I try to avoid this location although it if the closest to my house. The store always looks like it's being pecked down and constantly being stocked. The layout is awful. No one offers to help so I have to look up stuff on my phone which the app helps me more than the customers. There was only one someone said hello..I got nervous wondering what they wanted because it was so unexpected. The checkout lines are egregiously long and the cashiers fail to greet, interact, and engage. I was appalled by the service. One cashier just threw every item in one separate bag even though since like items could be bagged together. If heavier, double bagged. I just didn't get it, as a fellow cashier myself I was confused how that even happened. Definitely not returning. read more

I have visited here a few times... it's always so busy!! On this particular visit it was an in and out visit. Well I needed to use the restroom... Well it never fails, the restroom was semi closed for cleaning. I say semi because, the cleaning cart was nearby but the closed for cleaning sign wasn't on display. I was able to go in and take care of my business. The restroom was a bit untidy, but I'm sure that's why the cleaning was in progress. But that didn't stop others from coming in too. Well I'm here to visit the money center. This was fast visit for me. All I needed was the tracking number and the sender and that's it, funds in hand! There were at least two others in front of me, but the entire visit was less than 15 minutes. This center is separate from the customer service area FYI. It may take a few minutes to find parking because this location stays full of shoppers. If all else fails just park at the end of the lot and take a walk. Have fun and enjoy life :) read more

This review is based solely on the Online Grocery experience. I was referred here by my Mom, who said her experience was great and told me about the $10-off coupon you get your first time doing it. We had a great experience from start to finish! The website we used to order from was very easy to use and navigate to find items. The app I downloaded when heading to the WalMart was super intuitive, allowing me to let them know when I was on my way. It showed a map to the WalMart employee gathering our groceries on where we were and when we would arrive. He was standing outside waiting when we got there! Austin was a great employee and I really hope we get him every time we order in the future. He made sure we were getting the freshest dates and best looking products possible. He explained the process to us, and even gave us a goodie bag of samples to try (Which included a full jar of spaghetti sauce, little snacks, and coupons). He truly made the experience great and we will be returning just for him. I suggest you try WalMart Grocery Online Ordering! First order is $10-Off and the entire process is free! My aunt went to this store and her nieces accidentally left two rugs in self checkout. (All Female). They sent me to go retrieve the rugs with the receipt and time. I get to customer service and the lady takes my receipt and "checks" the cameras and tells me that the "man" who rung the item out took them out of the store. I told them they were women and when I asked what can be done, I was told "I have other customers". Along with the rest of the unresolved customer service complaints, this store needs better management and workers. Dollar tree has better service. Sad. read more

So I went to walmart yesterday, and as always I checked on the fish. Usually they're in decent-ish condition but today when I walked up there was a cup that was orange/pink all the way through. I figured there was just a dead fish and that was that. So I lifted the cup and of course there was a decaying betta. But when I put the cup back down another betta came to the surface! I called a worker over and the man said he'd change the water and get the poor guy moved over and taken care of ...okkkk... and asked if there was anything else I could be helped with. They had parrot fish in terrible condition so I bought two. I was assured that the betta would be dealt with, and there was now a manager also talking with us. So I go home with the parrots and figured that was that. Forty five minutes later, the parrots are settled in to my quarantine tank and I head back to Walmart to get diapers etc. Hoping the betta would be in his own cup by now I walk over just to check AND HES STILL WITH THE DEAD ONE. I walked the cup over to electronics and gave a worker a piece of my mind and she walks over with me, completely agreeing that this was totally unacceptable. She puts Red in a new cup and I make sure that I am there to see it happen. Once she gets him moved over she hands the fish to me and since my quarantine tank is taken up and I have no more space I can't take him. So I tell her "Oh, I can't take him, I just wanted to make sure he got into fresh water so he can not get sick and die". She then gives me a look and walks off. And that was the end of that. I wish I could have taken him home, but I'm glad I could at least get him fresh water. It was a nightmare but I made his life a bit more bearable. I just got off the phone with corporate and they seemed very helpful, hopefully we see a change in how the fish are cared for. read more

Typically I avoid this Walmart because their lines have always been extra, extra long. Although it is the closest one to my house, I usually go to the one on Virginia Beach Blvd. Today I came in here because I remembered that their baby/toddler section is better than my regular Walmart. I needed to get some Aveeno bubble bath for my son. They had it but it was the small bottle..Better than nothing at all. I picked up some other grocery items and headed to the line. I stood in line for about a minute and a cashier invited me to her register to check out. Quick trip in and out of Walmart is exactly what I needed. read more

I took my vehicle in for a simple oil change, which took 2 1/2 hours, and when it was completed drove home. The next morning before I started it I checked the oil only to find out that my crankcase is over filled because they didn't drain my engine oil. You can tell by looking at the dipstick that it is old oil and new oil because it isn't honey colored like new oil is. When I called back the person that finally answered was the gentleman that had performed the service and he is adamant that he dropped the old oil, now I have to buy new oil filter and oil and a drain pan to catch all of the oil in my engine AND also try to figure out what fluid he dropped from some place in my vehicle to replace it. They want me to bring it back but would you? I just want a refund but don't want to drive back over to the store. I was in the area after an appointment that I had. The guy admitted to not really being good at oil changes because he doesn't normally do them, great. read more
