Everytime I come to this store all of the handicap carts are broken. It is terrible not to be able to go in and shop. The carts sit there for months. This is discrimination against the handicap. This Walmart is located on Gallatin Pike and sits directly across from the large complex housing Dick's, Best Buy, Rooms To Go and more. Unlike many Walmart's around the city, this location features all the creature comforts of a superstore plus a Murphy gas station...which always has great gas prices! I usually avoid Walmart for the most part, but on occasion, which is usually early on a weekend morning, I will pop in for random items. I legit live less than a mile from Dickerson Pike Walmart and will go out of my way to go to this one. The store is usually decently clean, shelves are stocked and the cashiers are in place. While this Walmart is far from perfect, it is a solid Walmart location, especially given nearby locations. Overall, I am a Target fella at heart, but don't mind popping in here when needed. read more

I was dragged into the Walmart ... thank goodness he made it a quick trip! I loathe going into stores to shop. Especially Walmart! This location is known for "trouble".... Early Sunday morning it's not busy. The shelves are well stocked and the store is clean. Not one employee I encountered reciprocated my smile of "hello" or offered a greeting. Seems everyone is unhappy with their life choices. Produce looks fresh and nicely distributed. The one thing I did find was 60 eggs for $11.06. WOW!!! That's a deal!!!! I had my oil changed, tires rotated, cabin filter, and wipers changed. They couldn't have been more helpful. Nice people back there. They explained there were some issues with my lugs. Two lug nuts were missing, one had a cheep lug nut, and one was cross threaded. The only place I've been to is the Walmart in Hermitage. At the Madison one the waiting area was clean. The service area was clean and very organized. Even the store is good. I come to the Madison one because the one in Hermitage is very bad. The tire service area is disorganized and dirty both in the work area and the waiting area. The Hermitage Walmart has a bad culture which usually reflects the sites top person's attitude. read more

Jessica the girl in deli is the rudest associate I have ever encountered. The cake decorator had to go get her to help us and she just had an attitude like she was annoyed she had to do her job. She also reeked of nastiness and cigarettes. She was just an unpleasant person and doesn't need to he around food. read more

Pick-up at this location is super slow. Not time-saving at all. Took 25+ minutes of waiting in the parking spot for my total of 3 items to come out, and it wasn't just me. Opt for a different Walmart if you want to do grocery pickup. read more

This is the worst Walmart I have ever been to. Teenagers seem to be running it, and I literally mean running it. I went to check it and the person in front of me had 2 drinks. He did not have the money for them, so they let him have them and he didn't pay for both of them. When I checked out, the cashier was showing other crew members videos. I was never told how much my stuff was. I had to ask him to come get the money because I needed to get to a sick child and he kept showing videos. Took forever to get my change. When I went to leave a group of cashiers were showing videos with the security guard to each and got in my way. I had to ask them to move so I could get out. Do not go to this store. These individuals don't need jobs, just a place to hang out and watch videos. read more

I just found out tonight my husband and I fit the description of thieves. We picked our order at the curbside and everything seemed okay so we decided to go in the store and pick up food and essentials because of the winter storm. Once we were done shopping we went to the self check out area once I was done bagging my groceries there was a young mexican girl, young black guy, older white woman in her 40's a white heavy set man with red hair and a red bread, and the security guard that was by the exit door, they were blocking the exit so we could but they couldn't follow through their plan because we had receipts for our purchase. We paid 150.00 with curbside and 250.00 inside the store and were still treated like criminals. This happened 9pm tonight read more

I did not have a good experience. I came to Walmart (which I try to avoid in the first place) to find a cheap umbrella. I wandered the store for about 15 minutes by myself trying to find them.. no luck. Then I try to locate an employee to guide me on where they are and I kept feeling like the employees were running away from me. They walk extremely fast and are very unapproachable. I finally located one who was too slow to escape me, and he told me they were in the Sporting Goods section. So I walked all the way across the store, and there were no umbrellas to be found. I had to locate another employee who I essentially had to run up to and shout 'excuse me' before she could run away, and she told me 'it's over there past jewelry'. I looked in that direction to see if I could locate the jewelry area and by the time I turned back to ask her another question she had ran off. So I make my way over to the 'jewelry area', don't see any umbrellas, so I ask employee #3 at the dressing room for help and I finally found what I was looking for! The umbrellas are hidden away in a small shelf in the middle of an aisle with bras! Why Walmart, why?? It is springtime, a stormy time of the year for Middle Tennessee. Why were your umbrellas so difficult to find?? It's April! You should be displaying your umbrellas in a high traffic area. Well.. at least I can say I know their employees are getting good exercise consistently running around and dodging customer questions. read more

I have been VERY pleased with the pharmacy at Walmart. A man in his 50's is in charge. He is EXTREMELY helpful. He took my phone call at 5:00 pm and was not nervous about the line in front of him. I had so many possible interacting meds that I just put everything in a bag and drove to the store. He calmly checked everything and sent me out with knowledge I didn't have previously. He has always looked for ways to help us get the best price on our meds. We do have insurance but he has optimized it. He is proactive. If I come in for a shot, he will ask if my husband is in the store and might like to update his shots as well. GREAT service! read more

went in there today to return a tv after calling and talking to someone in electronics and they said we could. We were under the 30 days and told the guy in electronics our situation He said that was no problem. unfortunately we came in contact with Yolanda from customer service who was an insanely racist individual. She was laughing and hugging all the other customers but when it came down to us she just laughed in our face. she was conniving and would say things like " i told you so" along with more laughter in our face. cannot believe Walmart would hire someone that profiles their customers and treats them different then anyone else. we are appalled by the way she treated us. We informed her that we called and talked to someone in electronics and she said "honey we dont answer our phones in this store, no one here answers the phone" we told her we talked to someone in electronics and she stated "honey, the guy in electronics can't even talk there is no way he answered the phone" talked to a manager and they were no help as well. so we left the building in complete shock as to what just happened read more

So I just came from the beautiful new store in Madison TN. The store is great, but I had a horrible shopping experience. There was one item I could find so I asked an associate who sent me on a wild goose chase. Then I asked another associate who just pointed and told me he "thought" it might be over there. The third associate just flat out said she didn't know where to start looking. Not once did an associate offer to help me find the item. I knew another store had it and I knew where it was, so on my way home I had to make another stop. Thanks for that! THEN I go to check out. I got cash back because I needed some change to do laundry. I asked the cashier for some quarters and she directed me to the customer service desk. Of course there was a line and after I waited 10 minutes I was told rudely that "we don't give out change like that". I told her the cashier told me to come over there for that exact purpose. She told me to go back to the cashier and wait until her drawer opened and she could give me some change. At that point I was on the verge of returning my entire order and going over to Target, but I didn't feel like another run in with the rude woman at customer service. Beautiful new store with the same bad attitude the old location had. Will not be back! I guess it just goes to show you cannot polish a turd. When I moved to Madison, I thought I had found a budget friendly place to buy fresh product but I was WRONG. My past two trips for groceries has only produced distrust for this store and Walmart in general. In one trip for groceries, 5 out of 7 of their products I purchased had mold growing on them (one being hamburger meat). They did return my purchases along with turn my stomach. I completely agree with Philip F.'s review of this grocery store. This Walmart is a community swimming pool for threatening behavior. Many times I have had to take the "long way home" due to stalkers. I really hate that I have nothing encouraging to say about this store, but the past 4 months of shopping here has been a nightmare. read more

I made the rounds in Madison, yesterday... and Walmart was the last store I went into, before heading back to Nashville. Thousands upon thousands were at the store, picking up school supplies for the tax free day. The aisles were a mess. School supplies all over the ground, in the aisles, stacked on top of stuff in wrong departments.. The employees were trying to keep up with the mess, and some were avoiding the mess. I didn't see much ambition or happiness in having a job with these employees. Must be rough to work here. Found my cat food. Found some decent flip flops. Found a good price on pajamas.. Found some decent sport bras with front enclosures. Found everything I went looking for. I hope, after the opening school rush, that things will get cleaned up and more organized. read more

Worst experience at a Walmart I have ever had. First I was standing in line and in express 20 items or less line was opened up however the lady at the checkout ushered a woman that had well over 100 items in her basket over instead of me when all I had was a single iTunes gift card. How does that work? One of the attendees had to open up another register just to get me through because she saw how upset being overlooked with my single item which would've gone through so much faster for a person who had over 100 items in their basket had a 20 items or less express checkout lane, by the time I was finished I wanted to go to customer service but that line was so long that I did not bother to stay in it because the single person working in the customer service area tried to get the attention of another attendant because something had gone wrong with the computer or it was something she didn't know how to do. Didn't appreciate being overlooked, didn't appreciate the lack of service. There should be plenty of people to work these essential businesses during this pandemic. read more

I much prefer this Wal Mart over the Dickerson Wal Mart. Every time I'll drive the extra distance. This Wal Mart has plenty of other shopping nearby if you're looking for a day out. I've found pretty much everything I was looking for, and more, at this location. I've been to the other locations and this one has the most selections and has the store stocked. Though the one on Powell has the nice refrigerators, and cooler section, I still prefer this one as it is just as well-kept. Definitely the best prices I've found in town, and it's a one stop shop. There can be long lines but that's typical for Wal Mart as they are understaffed these days. Bonus is there's a Zaxbys (and a chick fil a) nearby if you're looking for a quick bite to eat for some decent chicken. read more

Not a good experience the store was we'll stocked but the checkout lines were long, and only two checkout lanes open at 7:00pm and self checkout was also backup and when I got in line I had to take back my ice cream and put back because it was melting , then I decided to self checkout at the machine/registered it did not have any room to place your items on and the pin that you sign with was missing, it took the attendant 15 min to print the receipt and then hunt down a pin for me to sign, I would not give them one star if I could. I probably will not come back to this store location if all possible. read more

went in Madison super store to see and item before purchasing, they only had 1 I could find and it was tore open and retaped. looked like somebody bought and returned. no one would even look up and see if they had anymore. went to customer service and a woman couldn't hear, so I told her I would just use the other ladie. when I got to her she told me I was rude even tho I was not. I couldn't scream and had to much to ask. this woman refused to help me saying I was rude and then she left she turned her name tag around so I couldn't see her name, I then talked to a woman name Dee on her tag she wasn't any help only saying she would take care of it and speak to her, but what I wanted was help with an item which I never got. I am 60 and had a stroke last year and 3 major back surgeries I could not stand there any longer. I been going to this store since it was built and never had this type of problem and won't go back again. read more

I had to return an item my family had purchased at another Walmart and ended up going to this location. When I arrived there were already 8 people standing in line to do returns and the line lengthened considerably while I waited. I also noted that there were only three cashiers at the front of the store and those lines were 10-15 people long each. I saw a manager walking around and speaking into his walkie-talkie, but otherwise it looked as if nothing was being done about the under-staffing issues and long long wait times. One of the cashiers started apologizing to his whole line and telling people that if he were them, he would have left after only 5 minutes of waiting. If I could give 0 stars I would. This is by far the shittiest Walmart I've ever been to. I came here at 12 midnight, and there was one register open with SIX PEOPLE IN LINE! The staff aren't friendly, the place just opened and already looks like a pig's playhouse. I would rather go to the Walmart on Dickerson Pike (and if you've ever been there, you know how bad that one is). Please don't take your grocery shopping here, there's a publix 5 minutes away and there's a krogers 8 minutes the other direction. I bought a Colman cooler from Walmart the stickers on the side and from said keeps Ice like Ice for 3 days. I filled the bottom with water bottles pored a 10 lb bag of ice on top of them all day it had ice in it the next morning no ice could be found in it any where, well 24 hrs no ice I'm not very happy about this I even threw the receipt in the trash the day I bought it thought I bought a nice cooler. read more

I have to shop at this Walmart because I live in a retirement center, have no personal transportation, and this is the only large store I can get to. I have generally liked Walmart in the past, but I am an old man who can hardly walk so I must use the carts to shop. I have a little over an hour to do my shopping before the center's bus returns to pick us up. Every week, with very few exceptions, I must spend most of my time looking for a cart, waiting for one to become available, and waiting for it to recharge when I do finally get one. I usually end up with ten or twenty minutes to do my shopping. If this were an occasional situation I would certainly understand that the carts cost money, and the store must invest in them expeditiously. But when it is a constant situation as it is, it tells me the store doesn't care for its disabled customers and looks down on us. I am highly offended by the constant lack of adequate power carts. I hardly ever have this problem at Kroger or at Publix. But Walmart doesn't care about its customers, doesn't care that I am unable to shop as much as I want and need to shop, Walmart doesn't want the old crip's business, they do not care for the harm to my health when I must walk across the store looking for available carts. Walmart doesn't care if I spend an entire shopping trip looking for a power cart that I never find and consequently get no shopping done. I hate being treated as a worthless commodity by Walmart. I hate that Walmart is quite satisfied with the profit it rakes in from healthier customers and will not invest in enough power carts for me and other disabled customers to be able to shop on our own for the products we want and need. How can I respect a store that so clearly has no respect for me? Do not shop at this Walmart at 2232 Gallatin Pike in Nashvillle, TN (Madison is a suburb of Nashville). This store is grossly mismanaged in many ways other than the drastic shortage of power carts for disabled customers. It is under-staffed, and the staff are under-trained and often unable to assist. We all know that Walmart caters to poor people who can't afford to shop at a better place. We expect marginal quality at a low price we can afford. Ray Walton cared about us, but his store is now run by callous people who only care about getting the biggest buck on their investment. If I had my own transportation and were not on fixed income, I would not endure what I am forced to endure here. It's just part of the price of being old and forgotten. read more

I went into the Walmart at 2232 Gallatin PK N. Madison, TN and had one of the most terrible experiences I have had at Walmart. I was going to purchase two pictures from home goods that were marked 12.96. When I got to the register they rang up 24.00. It took the woman 15 minutes to get up there to see what the issue was, 15 more minutes to get back from checking just to tell me there was no barcode and they had the exact same issue the day before. I asked the question, "well if there was the exact same issue yesterday, why didn't you all fix it?" She then informs me that there was a sign under those that read 12.96, but that didn't belong to those. I asked for a manager. A CSM named Rhonda came over and was very nice and did a great job by calling an assistant manager. another 15 minutes passed. The woman from home goods stood there and kept making comments to me like, "these aren't 12.96, I don't know why you are even asking and there is no sign for 12.96 back there (after she had just told me there was but for something else). I had $260.00 worth of groceries sitting there. Most of it was parishable and I would't particularly want to eat it after it had all thawed out while waiting on these incompetant people. The lady from home goods kept making comments at me. I looked at the CSM and said, "hey if the manager does't get up here I will walk out and leave all of this here. Five more minutes passed, the woman made one final comment, I looked at them and said, "I'm sorry but I have waited here over 45 minutes to check out" and I walked out. From the parking lot I called and talked to Nancy, one of the most hateful people as a manager I have ever talked to. She basically said I should have just waited to talk to her and there wasn't anything she could do. I told her that I am a manager where I work and we NEVER treat people with so much disrespect! I also told her I would be calling corporate office and she acted like she didn't care at all. So I had to spend my 300.00 elsewhere and will shop elsewhere from now on. read more

Terrible, terrible. Did I say terrible? I came to this Walmart tonight, probably around 9pm to buy dog food. Didn't think I would be standing in line for 20 mins. Not because the line was long, but because it apparently takes a rocket scientist to work a cash register. The girl waited until she was completely out of money to tell someone. Someone proceeded to walk up asking if she was ok and when she told them she ran out of money, it was apparently hilarious to the other person who laughed hysterically as she walked away, not helping at all. The girl never apologized, or even acknowledged the problem, to the lady in front of me, waiting to get her change, nor did she apologize to anyone else. This is by far the most awful Walmart I have ever been to. The area is shitty and the staff is also shitty. I unfortunately had to stop here because I wasn't anywhere near home, but I will never make that mistake again.
