First off, plenty of parking. Bonus. When you walk into the store, everything smells clean and fresh. The grocery section is well organized. The produce section is overflowing with fresh veggies that are well-priced. You can find most everything you are looking for at a grocery store. In the back of the store, they have a deli and a little taco shop. There are tables and chairs, so you can eat there or take your food to go. My husband got two Quesabirria Tacos and a side of rice and beans. I ordered three street-style tacos: Carnitas, Barbaco and Pescado, which was grilled. I also ordered a side of plantains. Throw in a bottle of water and the total bill was $31. There was so much food that I had to take the rice and beans, 2 tacos and my plantains home. I just could not eat any more! They have housemade salsa that they sell in pint containers. The Salsa Verde was so delicious that I have been putting it on all my food this past week. It's spicy but not overpowering. I'm going back just to get more of that salsa! Reading the comments from the Instragram post, people told the IG poster not to give away locals' secrets. This definitely is a hidden gem!

From the outside, Garden Fresh looks like a big place, but once you walk in, you realize that it is a lot smaller than imagined. Even with a smaller space, they have this placed packed with all the goods from a small produce and veggie section, packaged meat, freezer, rice, dry goods, snacks, drinks, toiletries, etc...and of course they have a meat/seafood counter where you can get the freshest of proteins! I would like a bit more selection of pre-packaged/bulk meats on the shelves as the lines for the meat counter along with the line for the cocina can become overwhelming. While the store is packed with goods, this is a great thing, but also makes it hard to maneuver as the aisles and spaces are pretty small. A lot of "excuse me", "my bad" while shopping. Speaking of the cocina...in the back of the store you will find a small counter where they are slinging the freshest tacos, quesadillas, birria, nachos, tamales and more! While I may not pick up groceries on each visit, I do always make sure to pick up a taco or three to go! If you want to eat in, they do have a few tables as well. Service is always friendly and they are staffed well, notably for the busier times...which is more times than not, especially on the weekends! Condition of the store is decent. The shopping plaza is pretty unsavory, but once you get inside you are good and things turn around! Overall, great spot in Madison!

I was greeted as soon as I got to the store (I believe her name was Sam), and not only was she very welcoming and personable, but she also had some snack style samples offered-and let's just say I'm pretty sure I just found my new favorite snack-Strawberry and blueberry pretzels! Then, as I was doing my shopping, I had another employee (I'm so sorry, I didn't catch their name!) ask me if I was finding everything ok, and I replied with what I was on the hunt for (a very specific vitamin) and they showed me right to them, and asked if I would like some help finding anything else! Honestly, I can't remember the last time that I went grocery shopping and had someone ask me if I needed help finding anything, so this interaction really stuck out to me. As I went to check out, I was greeted with a SMILE and a "how are you, did you find everything ok today?"....checkout was fast and friendly! I just felt like everyone working there went above and beyond to make my (usually dreaded) shopping trip enjoyable-from being helpful, to simply smiling at me as we walked past each other, and even the bonus snack samples. The places I normally shop at (closer to my place) seem to be filled with employees that have a "ugh I don't want to be here right now" vibe (if you know what I mean), and I think that after getting used to seeing that all the time, and then coming here and having this experience today is a pretty darn good reason for me to break up with my old grocery stores, drive a bit farther and just come here from now on. They have clearly made some updates and changes to this location in the past couple of years, and it shows from the condition, layout, selection and even the service. I stopped by for a few items for dinner, but once I got inside, I ended up making a full shopping trip out of it. Its a Market location, so don't expect anything beyond grocery and pharmacy here, which is good with me as that was all I was after! Selection was good, but with the smaller location, they do have fewer products in certain areas. I noticed a few staples in a few areas that I usually get at the larger locations were not carried here. And if it is, the brand or varieties are reduced. However, on the flip side of that, I was impressed with a few specialty items I noted in areas such as fruits and veggies. There were a few empty meat shelves, so I had to pivot on my proteins. Prices are in line with other local Walmart stores, so nothing to compare to there. Condition and cleanliness were solid, and service was surprisingly friendly. Overall, decently impressed with this Neighborhood Market. Will definitely stop avoiding it.

While I do majority of my shopping at the nearby Kroger, this Publix is always our go-to for those delectable pub subs! With that being said, I have shopped around the store when a sub is not the only thing I am after. The store is always well stocked, clean and staffed well. Conditionally, the store is showing its age in places, so a refresh would not hurt. Service is always stellar here from the registers to the deli counter and even the cart attendants! I usually get spoken to by majority of folks I encounter. Overall, this Publix location always treats us well and will remain our go-to in time of need!
