I have mixed feelings about my visit last night. I spent quite a bit of time in the beauty section trying to decide on some makeup shades and products for an event today. Two employees came over to organize the shelves while I was there, and they were perfectly fine and nice. However, the experience went downhill at the self-checkout. The man working the area walked over and intensely watched every single item I scanned. As soon as I finished, he snatched my shopping basket away so fast that my keys were actually still inside it. Listen, I completely understand that loss prevention is important and retail stores have to deal with shoplifting, but there was absolutely no reason to treat a paying customer like a criminal. I have no intention of stealing, and the staff could be a lot friendlier and less aggressive about how they handle the checkout area. Went in here to find a box of pokemon cards for my kid and you literally are unable to look for what you want because the shelves with the products I'm trying to shop for is pinned up against customers at the register, so I have to wait for the line to dissappear just to shop, and by that time now I'm in the way of other people trying to checkout. i literally cant even see what is on the shelves, so annoying!! trading cards are a hot item right now that a lot of people shop for, i had to just walk out and leave because i couldn't shrink myself down to the size of an ant to squeeze past customers just to shop, move the cards somewhere else!! read more

The best place to go when you want to hear employees gossiping and complaining about other employees. Literally in every department except for groceries because they're actually working to fill orders. The toy department is my favorite because a woman with short gray hair complains about every other employee not doing enough. But customer service is also fun, because you get to wait awkwardly while no one greets you as they continue to complain about other employees. 0/5 Stars if I could. Placed a delivery at 3pm yesterday for 8-9pm delivery time. No one shows up. Got a text saying delivery delayed, it will be there in 2 hours. 11:45PM that night, no delivery. Call customer service. They told me the drivers stopped at 10pm for the night. Okay. CS agent tells me it will be delivered between 8am-11am next day (today). Got it. e 12:15pm and still no food delivered. Called the internal pickup line. Guy answered said driver was 2 min away and give them until 1pm to deliver. 1:15pm and no food. Called again. Girl picks up phone. I asked where's my order. Another driver is 2 min out. I said "after 5+ failed drivers I really don't believe you. I want to change this to pickup so my husband can pick it up." Girl refuses to change it. Blames it on outside delivery drives (door dash I assume) and to use the "in house" delivery. I stated the Walmart app won't let me do that. I asked for a Manager. She refused stating that there wasn't one around. Then I asked for a supervisor. I finally got a tone as I knew this was absolute horse shit and she was lying to me. She could mark it as pickup on her end. She caved, then marked it as pickup. Within a breath she hung up on me. I stared at my phone in utter disbelief. I have NEVER in my life has such an awful experience in customer service. No apology, just straight excuses. Date is 12/1/22. Find this girl (if you are the manager reading this) and fire her. I was asked to pick up my grandpas medication, so I went to pick it up through the drive through. The first things that I was told "someone will be with you in a second". Cool not a big deal, more than happy to wait. I was helped by a very nice man who got me through as fast as possible. Now on the other hand the other person that was working there tonight was extremely rude and condescending. My sister called to see if it was going to be cheaper through Good RX or through his insurance and she was told "Well we told your friend that just came through that it would be cheaper through Good RX.". When in fact all I asked was that we refill one of his other prescription, and apply the Good RX. I never once asked which one would be cheaper. I never got her name. But she should not be working in the pharmacy if she's not willing to work with people's questions and be extremely rude. read more

I'm with my husband yesterday when I came here. He drives a car so we park our car in their parking lot. Were lucky that time since there is only one left available to park our car. After we park, we enter this grocery store and there are a lot of customers inside. My husband picked one cart and we started to purchase our needs. We went first to the cereal section. My kids love cereal and the container of cereal in our house was already empty. There is empty space in inventory. They need to fill it immediately. One cereal that my kids love was already sold. So I just bought another flavor of it and I purchased 5 boxes of cereal. We spent an hour before we bought everything we needed. And we're glad that there are no long lines at the counter. Went to the pharmacy in Walmart in Johnsburg il to pick my medication on 8/31. It supposed to be ready on 8/27. The pharmacy technician couldn't find it at first and then told me to come back in 20 min. I asked if I got 90 pills as prescribed and she said yes, so I paid for it. Then I had to consult with the pharmacist, who informed me that there were only 30 pills inside the bottle already sealed in bag. I told him that I was prescribed 90 not 30 and can not accept this amount. I also asked for refund and told him that I'll be back when they have my whole order. The pharmacist didn't want to listen to me, talked over me when I tried to explain to him why, wanted me to contact my doctor for no reason and then told me to go to another pharmacy. My prescription is on file in Walmart, but I found him to be rude and unpleasant. Checked out , headed for the exit , as I'm coming up on the doors, a female sore employee barks at me these doors are locked, She was apparently just locking them and couldn't find in her to just let me exit on the end of the sore where my car was . So instead had to walk to the other end of the store and then all the way back to the other end to get to my car . Went to Walmart for groceries, per usual, with my non-verbal 3 year old who also has a mental delay and possibly autism. Everything went fine until he lashed out and had a screaming, whining fit. Which is fine, whatever, im used to it.. but the customers were unhappy, I dealt with that. Went to self checkout, needed help from the older cashier who has dark hair. She came over to remove an item and my child was throwing a fit, in the cart, and she started plugging her ears. Today I went back for more groceries, with my kid once again. This is an interesting review to write, as I have to change my standards a bit as it IS Walmart I'm giving a review of. Let's be honest, no Walmart is a great place to be. Starting with the Pharmacy, it's awful. I don't know if all of their pharmacies are like this, but there's no communication. I had my boyfriend go in with any and all of my information to pick up my medications while I was at work (I kept getting text after text that they were ready). After he waits in line for 20 minutes, they tell him I have nothing to pick up and nothing pending so he leaves and let's me know. I then call the pharmacy, frustrated because now it's wasting both of our time. The pharmacy tech claims that it's been ready and she doesn't know who told him it wasn't. Or maybe he doesn't know my last name or birthday. We've been dating for years, he knows both (and I texted DOB just in case). So on the way home, we stop and suddenly they're there and ready. The store is always run down and dirty, nothing is ever stocked and the produce always looks like if you saw it in your fridge at home, you'd toss it instantly. My favorite part of this review is the bathrooms. I ALWAYS make it a point to never use them because of how disgusting they are, but you can't help it sometimes. The last time I ever used one was at this store. I went into the far stall (which was a handicapped), and after sitting down I realized there was a bad smell that just kept getting worse. I turned my head and saw a large pile of human feces in the corner of the stall. I held my breath and tried getting out of that store ASAP. Don't ever do a non-grocery pick up here if your handicapped. There is no place to sit by kiosk and very rarely is there a handicap spot open. Sometimes they'll get it for you at grocery pick up but lately they have been too busy and short handed. read more

Okay one thing the store is not open 24 hours . Walmart charge my checking account on the 5th for $290 for something I never purchase I looked at it and I put it safe for later . I have been calling Walmart since the 5th to take the hold off my account . They have documentation for the orders were canceled and sent back from FedEx but yet they still will not take off the hold on my account . I really dislike Walmarts in general and try to avoid them as much as possible, but sometimes you just NEED something from Walmart. My mom and I went in about a month ago to get her a bicycle. Their selection was awful. I did try to pull some out of the racks and almost maimed myself doing so. The kicker was the two employees (teenaged boys) who just walked (and then stood) in front of us, talking, completely ignoring both of us. They were literally inches away and HAD to notice me struggling with taking the bikes out and putting them back in. It was really the worst customer service experience I've had in a long time. My mom and I were pretty baffled, exchanging "Are you SERIOUS?!" glances. Holy lack of customer service! Needless to say we headed to another big-name store and spent our money there. So, when Walmart came up in my Yelp search it stated, wearing a mask is required. Apparently their associates are not required to wear a mast or even cover the leading source of particulates that can infect you and me...their nose. This is NOT A GAME PEOPLE. I heard on the news this morning that COVID-19 is now the third leading cause of death in America!!! And yet management does nothing at Walmart to secure our safety. I counted 6 Walmart employees in the aisles with their noses fully exposed. One older employee had her mask dangling from her left year in the aisles. There were three vendors stocking shelves all of which had their noses hanging out. Simple LOGIC tell us that if you are breathing from your nose, it is your nose that is the loaded weapon aiming to kill us. So Walmart, are you okay increasing the chances of killing your customers due to ignorant associates and blind management? What the Heck is wrong with you people??!! Several associates were standing around chatting.i asked the associate sitting by the self checkout if they could open another lane. Went to Wal-Mart in Johnsburg on September 15, 2017 at around noon to pick up an xBox game that came out on this date (at midnight) so I was assuming the shelves would be stocked and ready to sell. Nope! I asked if they had the game and the service rep said yes, but they are in the back, we haven't stocked them yet (with no offer to get one), then walked away. Since Meijer is nearby I headed over there to see if I would have better luck. As luck would have it, Meijer did not have time to stock the shelves of this new release game either but they were far more eager to make a sale so they offered to go in the back and get one if I didn't mind waiting. 5 minutes later they had the game ready for purchase and I was out the door. So, lesson learned. Some stores hire better customer service representatives that are actually there to HELP the customers and some stores hire people that cannot be bothered. In the defense of each individual, it is very possible Wal-Mart doesn't treat their employees well and that could be the reason they respond in this manner but I've never worked there so I cannot say this is a fact. The only reason it has 1 star is because the store does have lower prices which is helpful. My complaint is their deli meat which I will never purchase from them again. I had bought a pound of Jennie o oven roasted turkey breast. I saw the person open a new thing of it so I thought, oh good really fresh. Well, when I got home, the meat was slimy and smelled like vinegar. It was no good and I had to throw it out. It was a total waste of time and money. Sooooo we bought alcohol at this Walmart by using my daughter's high school ID... I don't like Walmart. Unfortunately, it's close by our lake house so if I'm in a rush, my options are limited. Fortunately, Meijer (which really isn't much better) is close as well so I have an alternative from now on. The reason I've finally decided to review is because of how we were treated on New Year's Eve. I took my 15 year old daughter and her two friends to the store to buy some groceries to make NYE dinner. I had been on a bloody Mary kick lately and picked up a bottle of mix and a small bottle of vodka. I rarely drink, let alone purchase alcohol so I was aware that they would likely ask for ID. I showed the lady my ID and then she asked for the ID of my daughter and her friends. I told the lady that my daughter and her friends were 15 and that they didn't have IDs. The lady then said she didn't think my ID was mine and didn't feel comfortable making any decisions and she didn't want to get fired (I completely understand) so she called over another lady. That lady was skeptical that it was my actual ID and then told me that she couldn't allow me to purchase the vodka because I could be buying alcohol for these minors. I explained again that the one girl was my daughter and the other two were her friends. She said "Josh the manager" had to make the decision. By now, the line is backed up and it's been called to everyone's attention nearby that I'm potentially buying alcohol for teenagers. Great. Josh comes over and with an attitude I've come to expect from Walmart, he looks at my ID, then me, then my ID, then tells me that he needs the IDs of the girls. AGAIN, I explain that they are my daughter and her two friends. He doesn't believe it's my daughter and asks for ID from her again. I tell him that she has a high school ID card and he asks for that. He looks at it, looks at me, looks at my ID, looks at her and with that same attitude, tells the cashier to finish the purchase. It took 20 minutes to check out. AND THAT, boys and girls, is how we purchased alcohol using my daughter's high school ID. Seriously, I wouldn't bother going there unless you really, really have to. I just wanna start off by saying I used to love this walmart. they USED to have friendly staff, clean bathrooms, and isles that could be navigated with ease, but that was all in the past. yesterday I couldn't help to notice they had "Hover-1 Nova Hoverboard, LED Wheels, LED Headlights,160 Max Weight, 7 MPH, 6 Mile Distance" on sale for 69 dollars. I was at work while I saw this deal so I quickly went to the bathroom to purchase it. After work I called walmart and asked them if I just came in to buy it if they could just cancel the order. The lady on the phone said they were unavailable to do so because they was no one there to do it because they left at 8 (I called around 9) so this left me sleepless the whole night just looking forward to be cruising around the block on by hoverboard the following day. I woke up to a message I will never forget. It said that the order was canceled because the item was out of stock. The whole reason why i bought it online in the first place was to secure it so no one else could take it while I was at work. this greatly disappoints me as I have been supporting this company my whole life. I started out with a one-star rating for the Johnsburg Walmart. I went to return a defective camera that I had purchased October 16th. On November 3rd I went to return it. The return Department said I'll have to go through the manufacturer I'm past the 15 days. My receipt said only computers so I thought I had some time. I called the manager Brad, he went over my concerns and gave me a refund back. In turn, I upgraded to a better camera. Thank you Brad for reviewing my situation and coming up with an intelligent conclusion. So Walmart policies is for All Electronics not just computers.
