I shop at Meijer's for their produce, Daisy cottage cheese (only milk, cream, and salt), my favorite whole wheat bread, cereal on sale, King Arthur flour, Quaker oats, and more. Specific things like most people probably shop. I chat with Josh before I leave. The people at the self-checks (sorry people lost their jobs!) are cheerful and very helpful. I think some ratings are for negative experiences, but Meijer's parking lot is always loaded so lots of shoppers! read more

just about everything in the pharmacy department I don't know what happened to this place. It used to be great but lately if you're looking for a new pharmacy, this place is really not the one because trust me you'll end up in a hospital waiting for your pills. they send you out notifications to tell you your pills are ready. You go in there to pick them up and either they tell you they don't have them or they don't have a prescription for your name I swear when they closed 1200 Walgreens stores last year they sent some of the lazy incompetent pharmacist tec's there . FYI, this did not happen just once. read more

Grocery pick up is good. Much of the time the order is ready on time with most if not all ordered items available. Prices are often lower than local competitors. The online app coupons & Meijer points are great, too. read more

I am surprised at the large amount of negative reviews of this store, as I thought it was far and away nicer than the Meijer stores near my home. I visited here while dogsitting for a friend and was impressed at how bright and clean the store is, especially compared to my local Meijer. The employee at the Service Desk was friendly and efficient and while of course no other employee said a word to me as I traversed the entire store, I am used to that from Meijer and it didn't bother me at all. I found a sale salad for the next day's lunch and was amazed at how clean the checkout area was: No shopping baskets strewn about or random coupons littering the floor. I was mildly disappointed though that there weren't any spare receipts laying about for me to score some additional Fetch Rewards points! read more

Meijer has been an excellent store and system. We use the McHenry, IL location and their staff, speed of service, and personal help has been wonderful. It's absolute garbage, even though they remodeled. The employees are horrible and don't know what they are talking about. Very strange odor from the deli. Mold everywhere on the floor. Employees do not take job serious and smoke indoors. Saw expired milk still on shelves. Many boxes of stolen items all under the shelves. Overpriced as F$#* for the horrible quality of items. Walmart is way better. read more

My girlfriend always is happy when we stop here. We love Meijer supermarket. Really recommend.

I was charged 21 times on my card of my whole bill, when I called the stated the would call me back and never did, I went to the store and all the did was give me a number to a place not open! Went to Meijer this morning for groceries. They are price gauging. Shame on you Meijer. Most items that have limits have increased pricing by so much more then ever before. While I appreciate you are open I can't condone the price increases that are unwarranted. The only reason for this type of action is pure greed. Shame on you for increasing Meijer water from 2.99 to 4.50. Shame on you for increasing pricing on egg whites from 3.29 to 5.00 a carton. You should be ashamed of taking advantage of your patrons in everyone's time of need. Notice I said NEED not GREED. Greedy Bastards.... read more

This is not a vivid caused issue. Their order site says the $4.95 credit card charge will fall off after several days that then they re-charged me an additional $4.95 that did not fall off. Additionally the total shown on the site includes free shipping but if it's not over $50 then they charge you an additional $4.95. They don't tell you that it won't be rebated until after it is on your credit card statement. then, they substituted the wrong Item. Then when you call to try and get it cleared up the customer service line has no way to contact the store and the store has to contact them using the same general public phone number. It is a comedy of errors and their entire customer service process is abysmal read more

When going to the self checkout line they should ask you if you're going to pay cash or credit before getting in line. The other checkout lines should have the divider between orders. Just clean it when done. It makes it hard to figure out where to put the food if nothing is there. Then the cashier can easily give you someone else's food. read more

My family always are happy when we shop here. They carry many different type of grocery. We never leave the store without satisfaction.

This store puts stuff on sale and never has the product the manager at the McHenry store could care less if you're upset or you're asking him why he's rude to you he needs to be fired I have been waiting for a Pepsi 02 L black label for three weeks the website says they had it so I went there today Pepsi guy said they don't have an order it because nobody's ordered it from him manager says that Pepsi does their own orders I highly doubt that because Pepsi would never ever ever know when somethings on sale I would not recommend the store they're rude they're ignorant their cashiers are unfriendly go to Woodmans go to Walmart go somewhere else read more

Miss the self checkout for my groceries. So many times I have cashiers coughing all over my food and not covering their mouth! Plus there is a total disconnect regarding the poor fish, especially the betas. Dirty water, hardly enough to cover the fish at all. Some dead... Up until now, I would say that Meijer has reasonable prices with great availability (open 24/7). But, recently, while shopping the night before a graduation party with my mom, they were very rude and unhelpful. The service and attitude of the attendant at the front counter was so negative that we walked out without purchasing our items, which we had a looot of. I would recommend going to a Jewel for your groceries instead. read more

This has been our go to supermarket for a number of years now, but sadly the store inventories are worse than they ever than they have been and its not covid related its inventory control. You go in to purchase an item that has 5 different flavors and the has 12 facings of the product well it doesn't take rocket science to figure out that if something has two facings and its selling out faster than any of the other facings of the product then increase its facings to hold more product and reduce the other flavors that are just sitting and not selling through...geesh common sense! This store is bad about ad items being in stock most of the time, you place weekly ad to bring your customers in and you have no ad items because you ran out...not acceptable! Now Meijers is using the 2 for $$$ as an example but if you buy one its full retail price ,it use to be a few months ago you would buy the one at half the 2 for $$$ price meaning you would purchase it for half that sale price. Another way to nickle and dime the shoppers. They are driving their customers away slowly. read more

I used to love Meijer. Then they started cutting back so wait times were too long at cashiers. Then they added more and more self-service, with too many things needing an employee to override. I stopped going to them after leaving $300 worth of groceries in the middle of checkout. Decided to try them again since they were the closest place that had dry ice. Lines weren't bad, but when it came to the dry ice, the employees aren't allowed to touch it, so either way it with the cooler I brought in and pay for the weight or take it out myself and place it on their scale and back into my cooler. If employees can't touch it -- DON'T SELL IT. Again extremely disappointed in the management response and policies. It will be several more years before I go back, if ever. read more

She offered to discount 1 case. I told her that it was ridiculous to penalize a customer for mistakes made buy the store. She refused to do any thing further. I asked for the store manager and was greeted by Efrem. Efrem walked up with attitude and asked snippy how he could help me. I walked with him (remember walking is hard but he made no attempt to slow down to accommodate my condition and I was limping badly.) To the spot where I found the price, he looked at it and said that it was indeed incorrectly labeled. He said I should have read the entire label (Hard to Bend, label on bottom shelf.) I have always hated the fact that Meijer's uses the fewest checkout aisles possible and when busy the lines back up to the clothing departments. Every time, literally, every time I have tried to order prepared food from the counter, I have waited for someone to help me until I simply walked away. Last night was the final straw for me. I went to do my shopping. Some Background: I am a disabled American Veteran. My disability makes it difficult to walk or bend at the knees. I went through the store and got between $150 to $200 worth of products. In the Pepsi aisle I found cases of Mountain Dew can marked at 3 for $12. I told the employee who was stocking the shelves that it was a great price for M.D. He agreed and I began the painful process of loading 2 cases of soda from the bottom shelf to my cart. I am checking out and the cases ring up at $8.29 apiece I told the checkout girl the price I saw. She tried to fix it but could not, so she called Clarissa (not 100 % sure of name) over to assist. Clarissa called a price check and the person told her that the cases were placed in the wrong spot with the wrong price. She offered to discount 1 case. I told her that it was ridiculous to penalize a customer for mistakes made buy the store. She refused to do any thing further. I asked for the store manager and was greeted by Efrem. Efrem walked up with attitude and asked in a snippy way how he could help me. I walked with him (remember walking is hard but he made no attempt to slow down to accommodate my condition and I was limping badly.) To the spot where I found the price, he looked at it and said that it was indeed incorrectly labeled. He said I should have read the entire label (Hard to Bend, label on bottom shelf.) He started moving the wrong product to the right place and he offered the same thing as Clarissa. I said you can honor the labeled price, or I was leaving. He simply said, BY! Meijer's by refusing to correct an error of about $12 they now had to pay someone to replace all my groceries to their place. If the are following COVID-19 restriction a Good portion of my groceries were not eligible for re-shelving so the lost that money too. read more

Horrible horrible customer service! If I could leave 0 starts I would! All the workers here feel entitled smh very racist if you're not white! I will not be coming back here again! I've shopped at Meijer but today will be my last visit. I placed an order for delivery on meijer. Com for delivery. I asked for no substitutions and yet I got several things that I didn't order. I called Shipt and was informed I had to bring the items back to meijer for a credit. I went to the McHenry meijer and was told that I had to go through shipt. The gentlemen at shipt was beyond nice and explained to the woman who wasn't having it and told me to call shipt again because they aren't taking it back. So now I'm stuck with items I paid for yet never ordered. Not that anyone at this empty, non stocked location cares but you have lost a loyal customer that spends close to $800 a month in groceries and other items. Take care meijer, I will go to Jewel where it may be slightly more expensive. read more

Love Meijer. This one's always busy. My only complaint (with all Meijers, really) is that there is a really poor organic produce section. I don't usually need help, but when I DO need assistance, it's sometimes difficult to find an employee. Still, once you can find some, life is good. I last went with my mom: we were on a mission to purchase a bike for her. (We first went to the other big-box store down the street, but their selection was awful and the employees pretty much ignored us.) We did locate one she liked, and got some help from two teenaged boys. See, we didn't want the display model since it was all scratched up, so they located another in the back for us and brought it to us. They also pumped up the tires (not well, though) and helped answer some questions about bike seats. In all I don't really think they knew much about the bikes themselves, but they really tried. They were also able to hold in their giggles while watching me ride down the aisle of the store to test it out. I have no shame! :) In all our bike experience excelled the one we had at the other store. She got a decent bike that didn't break the bank. read more

Meijer is Meijer but what annoys me is there are no more express lanes....All I want is an express lane. Why? Because if I'm breezing thru to buy booze I don't want to wait in line and I sure as hell don't want to scan it at the self check lane then wait for someone to come in punch a code, check my id and go. Whew... You'd get five stars....if you had an express lane...just sayin.... read more

I like grocery shopping at Meijer. The store is clean and the employees are helpful. Unlike another reviewer I've never had problems with returns and I've done many as I also buy products for my home which are easy to return if they don't work out.
