Seat Damage from Leaked Car Battery

We purchased a battery at Walmart for our Toyota Sequoia in June of 2024. My husband left it on the back seat of the car for a couple weeks. When he went to use it, he discovered that it had leaked all over the car seat, burning a hole through the seat and foam inner layer. We contacted Walmart about this and they referred us to the product supplier, Elliot Auto Supply. Walmart gave us a refund for the battery but would not address the damage. Elliot Auto Supply forwarded the claim onto Factory Motor Parts, the Manufacturer. This process took months with us not hearing back from anyone. We finally heard back in November of 2024 and they denied any liability. We tried and tried to get ahold of someone about this decision and after a couple of emails, they stopped responding. We kept sending emails for a few months to no avail. Then we moved. This took a great deal of our time as it was a difficult move and we were not able to pursue this further. I am finally able to address this. We do not know why they denied the claim. The battery was not left in the sun even though it was in the car during this time. We have another vehicle that has a battery from this company. The battery is in the cab of the car thus negating any claim of a battery in a hot car overheating and causing a leak. So we do not know why they said this was not their responsibility as it was clearly a manufacturing defect. Walmart dropped the ball as did the manufacturer and we will not be buying batteries from Walmart or this company ever again. We still feel we are owed compensation for this as it would cost about $3500 - $4000 to fix the seat.

I'm not sure how you're supposed to buy anything at this location when you have items locked up and when you go and ask for help they never show. I waited about 15 minutes before I left and just ordered it on Amazon. This is why I shop at Target. We only stopped here to return a gift that was given to us. This location has a homeless problem, and we saw someone trying to break into a car, cops were called.

This has to be one of the worst customer service locations in the district/region. With all the changes in hours of operation and policies you would think they would have someone answer their phones. it is a crapshoot whether somebody decides to answer the phone there or not. It's quite disappointing. I was in their store two weeks ago and bought some children's clothing for a gift. I found some thing I'll like it better at another location. Nowhere in the clothing department does it say you cannot return clothing. I went stood in line for half an hour to get inside the store and once I'm ready to enter the store they tell me I cannot return the clothing. I had to take the objects back to my car, which I understand. However, when I returned inside the store I went and walked around and there was no policies anywhere and nor did the cashier and for me there were no returns or exchanges because of Covid 19. I went and found a store manager and ask her why there were no policies displayed anywhere in the clothing department's throughout the store. She stated they were only in the dressing room. Not very helpful if you're buying a gift or don't have time try on the clothes. she stated I will have 30 days to return the clothing plus an additional week. That's not fair to the consumer. I have money just sitting in a bag. I have been calling to find out when I can return the merchandise. It rang and rang after I dial zero for the operator... nobody answered. I hung up and called back somebody answer the phone but remain quiet because I could hear the background noise. I said hello several times with no courtesy of a response. I hung up called again and the same thing it rang and rang and rang. You should really teacher your employees some customer service.

Just like the Lowes across the street - this Walmart Supercenter has no customer service. I had to buy an item inside a locked shelf and did not get any help for almost 30 minutes (15 minutes in i asked two people, one said to keep pressing and someone will come, one said the manager will come help shortly- nope i waited another 15 minutes). I'm going back to Amazon online shopping...

No one answers the phone. Customer service is slow and associates could not care less. Everything is always delayed here.

Why even add the call buttons for locked up items if the employees don't answer them?

San Jose won't allow the Wal-Mart within city limits to sell ammo, so there's no point in going to the local one if I need ammo.

While they had a lot of cute merchandise and furniture, a store associate very rudely approached my family when we were testing out some chairs and basically shooed us out. She rudely told us that it wasn't a toy as if implying that I couldn't afford their merchandise that we were testing. If customers can't even test the furniture you sell, perhaps you shouldn't sell furniture. It was the most condescending interaction I've ever had in a store. That associate should definitely not work in customer service. Unfortunately, I didn't catch her name, but she was an Asian associate. There are many ways she could have approached us, but she decided to choose violence by attacking my children. We saw a lot of stuff we liked and were going to purchase them, including the chair, but after her rude interaction with us, we decided to go to Home Goods and shop instead where my business is welcome. What a way to run customers out the door. If this isn't a family friendly store, perhaps put a big sign at the door that says "NO KIDS". Ridiculous...While I shouldn't base my review of an establishment solely on the voice of just one worker, sales associates serve as the face and voice of a business.

But, instead of being treated and asked if I was looking for something in specific, I was greeted with a smudge, harsh stare, hazy, uninteresting look on Sabrina's face. As soon as I saw this, I swiftly turned back to the entrance and exited. Instead, I sped over to the nearest Ulta beauty and was met with real professionals that know how to cater their customers and atleast look somewhat pleasant. Needless to say, I will not be going back nor recommending this Kohls or Sephora to any friends, family, or even strangers, thanks to Sabrina.

When I tried to redeem the Kohls cash (that expired the previous day) at time of purchase, I was met with hostility. After the associates clarified the new policy, the associate snatched the coupon from my hand and stated per "policy" they HAD to dispose of it. I did not appreciate this response, so I asked for it back but they were adamant about tossing it out. I asked why it mattered whether they or I threw it out and was met with silence and handed back the coupon. This experience was so ridiculous that I had to call customer service and report (which is something I NEVER do). Hopefully this odd behavior isn't a usual occurrence for others.

They used to have a Jelly Belly outlet, but I didn't see it on my last visit, and they also used to have Starbucks. There is now a sushi restaurant in one of the business plazas, and there were food trucks selling different items as well.
