Okay, don't judge me I eat in high anxiety. Two days left to stage a bathroom that had not been cleaned, primed or painted. Today is Saturday pushing towards Monday. I heard someone say, Mr.Austin I am ....... So I turn around to see who they're speaking to. It was a calm, stoic, factual face of the now introductory of Mr.Austin. Scurrying in his direction, as he's coming towards me, I initiate a 'Hi, Mr.Austin. Will you tell me where to find a Painter thingy for the roller that goes on the paint roll?" Instantly, he knew what I needed and told me exactly where to go. Now, the purpose for this review is as I began walking away, someone with child behind me screams in excitement.....Mr.Austin! The smile that took advantage of my face told me everything I needed to know about Mr. Austin. He's approachable, knowledgeable, friendly, engaging, dependable and willing to assist to ease your query. He is the epitome of what customer service experience resonates. Pretty sure his name is called hundreds of times during his working there. Walmart ??? Please allow the company to treat Mr. Austin and family on a paid vacation for one week of his choice. Why does he deserve such a grand gesture? One of the smaller Supercenters I have been to in a while. The parking lot is a bit different than the other Walmart locations I have been to. As most other Walmart locations have done, they have set up an area for picking up your groceries. This one has an awning for vehicles to park under. This would be cool and all if the awning actually served a real purpose. But the awnings don't even cover the whole vehicle. Doesn't protect the employee if it is raining outside or anything else. Inside, it is your basic Walmart. Set up like any other location. Groceries on one side. Everything else on the other side. With it being a smaller location that means that not everything has a wide selection. It is busy in here, which is not a surprise. Checking out went smoother than expected. Of course I funneled into the self checkout line and had minimal wait. read more

More often than not there are long lines at this location, not enough cashiers. There are often a ton of staff restocking and such, so there are a lot of people around, but not enough cashiers, so very long lines. It's a clean store with mostly friendly staff. read more

I work within walking distance to this Walmart, so I usually visit this store every week! I've been there as early as 7 am , 12 pm and after 5 pm. It's always well stocked! They have 2 Self check out register area. The bakery has variety of breads! The fruit and vegetables are fresh but surprisingly they don't really have variety of fruits! I noticed that Walmart started selling organic options! I wish they designated separate location to make it easier to find them. read more

I go to this Walmart once every week and generally speaking the people working there are helpful and all that. My father left his phone somewhere in the store and couldn't find it. So I tried calling the returns desk and could NOT get anyone on the phone. Tried calling all the other departments and the phone just rang and rang endlessly without anyone picking it up. So I started calling his phone hoping someone would answer it and after calling it about 20 times, someone in the Walmart service center answered and said "your phone is here come and get it" then hung up before I could say anything lol. Then my father was able to go back and get his phone from the service center. So here's 4 stars for a pretty good store and a place to buy stuff. If they sold wells, it'd be Wellmart, and people like the bad dude in Silence Of The Lambs and the bad woman in The Ring would surely buy them. Oh and Robert Langdon would never set foot in here. Useful Walmart in the middle of the night or early morning in Ellicott City, but I didn't know the roads around here, and they can be a little hard to navigate in busy times. I was pleasantly surprised with my trip to Walmart today. Every grocery store is out of meat, I guess people are nervous about another shutdown. But this location's meat section was basically fully stocked. They even had meats that regular grocery stores do not carry. Lamb, bison, swordfish anything you can think of, they had it. This location was busy, which is expected for this time of the year. Carts were few and far in between and I know that the capacity is well over 25%, but I guess you really can't control that time of thing during this time of year. I am not even sure if big box stores are required to follow the capacity rules. I just say, this is by far my favorite Walmart and now that I see their meat selection is pretty expansive, I will be coming here more often! Mask up and be safe! read more

This is as good as it can get with Walmart. For a Thursday night, the store was full of people but it didn't feel too crowded or unsettling. There is ample close-up parking spots. There weren't a million ditched shopping carts in the parking lot as there are at other Walmarts . The signage to enter was clear. The lot was well lit. There were enough carts and baskets at the entrance. The produce aisle was fully stocked and vibrant. The aisles were clear of boxes, crates, and dolleys. Employees were stocking, cleaning, engaging with customers, or otherwise busy working. The store is huge so instead of wasting time going aisle to aisle, I just asked employees where things were, and all of them were very helpful, friendly, and courteous. They like doing their jobs here--a breath of fresh air! I used self-checkout and had some difficulty because the scale didn't recognize one of my items. The self-checkout warden was quick, competent, and willing to help. I see myself coming back here again, given that it's only 20 minutes from my house and right off 29. Super convenient and less chaotic than the Laurel location, for example. read more

I usually don't like shopping at Walmart, but I'm looking for something that the may have. I noticed this Walmart is very clean and organized. The floors are very shiny and the store aisle are very wide unlike the Walmart by my house you can barely fit aa shopping car in it. However, The customer service is horrendous. I try to get pastrami from the deli and after 10 minutes I just walked away. I try to get a razor blade out the secured case and the employee told me she didn't have the key, lol. All I can say is wow. It will e a long time before I come back here. I rather pay higher price to not waste my time like I did today. read more

Don't order from this store pickup or delivery. They are rude and they lie. They make no attempt to communicate when they mess up an order or the fail to deliver an order. Their supervisor who said his name was Sefane was rude and answered the phone like he was home on his couch. when I asked is this Walmart and your name is he refused to give it to me. Just rude and not helpful. They screwed up multiple.orders and multiple pickup orders. They cancel orders without notice and you can't talk to anyone that is supervising the delivery individuals. Basically they are under staffed and make it impossible to get any clear dialogue about problems with there store. Just to go here, don't by online, don't order delivery or pickup....they just don't care about customers clearly. read more

This store continues to disappoint me with how lazy the associates are and assistant managers when it comes to helping customers locate clearance items. I just had one lie to my face about an item after a local store checked their computer to verify inventory at this location. One associate refused to let me check the clearance shelves out in the garden area, another associate claimed to call for help in the department but help never showed up, and another associate simply ignored my request for assistance and kept moving old items off of the shelf. I loathe and detest lazy liars especially in customer service areas. At least this store isn't in the ghetto area like the store in Catonsville. read more

I have usually reviewed Walmarts at one star in this area. Today I am giving the photo section 5 stars. I needed some passport photos and the young man working the counter did a great job. He was friendly, very helpful to other customers and seemed to be happy doing his work. He should be the manager of this store. I only wish that I had remembered to get his name. read more

This Walmart is definitely way better than the one on Dobbin. They usually have everything I'm looking for in stock, plus a better selection of products. A few of the employees are always nice and answer questions without attitudes. My main gripe is if you visit there after 10 pm, ALL the cashiers have abandoned their registers and are now monitoring the self-checkout lanes. I'm talking about five plus cashiers just standing around, doing nothing. Really? What type of customer service is that? They're all standing around, chitchatting while the customers are scanning, bagging, and carting their own groceries. We come to this Walmart pretty often during the weekends to do some small shopping. This Walmart is busier, but also gives off a more welcoming vibe due to location. There used to be a McDonald's in there as well, but I think it closed throughout the pandemic unfortunately. This is a supercenter so it basically has all your typical Walmart items with the grocery store component that includes the deli, bakery, dairy, meat, etc. Parking is not a problem because the parking lot is huge. The parking lot also offers EV charing for EV vehicles as well. It can get pretty busy on the weekends as we typically park pretty far, but walking further is not that big of a deal to us. There is never really a limited selection since you are in Walmart and they are never really limited in stocks. They often have long lines but the self-check out line actually moves pretty quick despite it being visually long. There is usually a staff member there managing it and keeping the line moving by helping people who aren't moving through as smoothly. They also provide wipes and hand sanitizer by the front door due to COVID-19. There is security at the front door managing people in and out. Sometimes it looks like they check receipts but we never really got check before. Maybe that is because we usually only buy a handful of items. Since this location is in Ellicott City, they do charge you 5 cents for a bag now so bring your own bag to save that money! read more

Worst experience ever! They wasted an hour and 15 minutes of my time sitting outside in 80° weather. I placed my order yesterday and received a email saying that my order was complete and ready for pick up. I checked in as they asked me to and then I drove to the store and called the number and they said they would be right out. All the cars around me you got service left more Cain got service left I'm left sitting there. I asked the associate what was going on with my order they said they did not have a Order for me and I would have to come back tomorrow and drive again from Ellicott City to Sykesville waste more gas and sit there longer. They won't offer me any compensation whatsoever customer service the best they can do is cancel my order and give me my money back with no conversations for everything I've been through when this was all totally their mistake! read more

Have you ever been in that place where you just need ONE thing, you go to Walmart, and one hour later you leave with a hundred dollar pack of toilet tissue... Geez this is me all the way every blame time. I come to this Walmart because I LOATHE the Catonsville Walmart, yes it is out of the way for me, but I will make the drive for better service and finds! I appreciate that there is so much civilization in Ellicott City. I was in the area to pick up an item from Home Depot and needed to grab a few items from Walmart (groceries and not) and it was quick to get there. I was disappointed that some of the items I needed were out of stock, such is the COVID life though. As soon as I moved to this area, I immediately located the nearest Walmart Supercenter and settled on this Ellicott City location. I use this Walmart to supplement for anything that I am not able to buy at ALDI; paper products, toiletries, cleaning supplies etc. Even in the midst of the quarantine, Walmart was able to stay relatively well-stocked, which allowed for my husband and I to purchase some food items that we simply could not find elsewhere. I appreciate how well-stocked this location is, especially during this time. Moving forward, I will continue to use this Walmart to supplement my grocery trips to Trader Joe's and ALDI. It's not some big and beautiful store, but it fits our basic needs and gets the job done. read more

The isles are SO NARROW! Just to turn a corner or for two people to pass each other with their shopping carts was very difficult! The EXTREMELY poor Customer service. On two different occasions, I asked an employee for help find something. They couldn't even understand what I was asking. They apparently COULD NOT UNDERSTAND MY ACCENT. I SPEAK AMERICAN ENGLISH!!! This Walmart location really SUCKS! Its dirty AF, and the shelves are frequently messy, unorganized, dirty, and empty. The floors are frequently dirty too. Who ever is managing this store location needs to be replaced by someone more experienced and passionate about their job. It's time to get it together Walmart! Get rid of those lazy irresponsible employees who aren't keeping the store clean, aren't restocking and rotating inventory, and leaving hazardous equipment and boxes all in the way! If you don't want to work, stay home. I'm from the West Coast and I've never seen any Walmart look like this. I can't believe the filth and uncleanliness that I've witnessed at this location. If anyone thinks this Walmart is nice, please you haven't seen nice. It's horrible! Look at the photos. Look at the dirt! Look at the damn shelves. What the hell is going on?? This is about the VISION CENTER My wife has been trying to get new contact lens from vision center She got her vision test on 4/20/19 After test vision center said that they will notify when the contacts are ready. Waited about a month so she went there . She asked for instant lens and they said that Dr is taking day off. She asked prescription so she can buy in other optical store and store attendant gave glass only prescription. which was not valid for contacts Every time she go get her contacts . Store says , Eye Dr is not here , we didn't order yet . Etc . This has been going on about 3 months!!!! We are still waiting for them to give a new order of contacts. Or just give a right prescription but store attendant won't give and The Dr is hard to meet and talk My wife is running out of contacts but every time we go there , there is the same story!!! 1 eye Dr is not here 2 we will notify you when order arrives 3 etc Why We can't get the contacts from you? I like this Walmart, and frequent it regularly. Today, I decided to order a ice chest with wheels to be picked up from this location. I received the notification that it was ready for pick-up. I went to the store this evening with plans to shop for a few items and pick up the ice chest on my way out. I did not realize that you have to pick up between 8am and 8pm. When I was paying for my items I asked the young lady who was nearby if I pick up my order from customer service. She stated no there was a pick up location in the back of the store where the big sign was. I proceeded to the back of the store. That's when I learned that it was closed. So, I proceeded to customer service. Customer service restated the hours. I asked if a manager could assist me since I was not in the immediate local area? My issue with the manager on duty (Julie) who was more focused on being a hard-nose vs. coming up with a solution. It took the customer service representative (Renee) to try to come with a solution. I learned that most times what you order on-line can be found in the store. Then Renee took the time to take me to the area of the store where the ice chests were sold. Then we proceeded to look over the ice chests. 1) Walmart needs to put in the header of their email the pick-up times if they want their customers there between certain hours. (Another customer just before me also missed the pick-up time.) 2) Julie needs customer service training, as she lacks people-person skills. And, 3)Renee needs to be commended for her efforts for trying to keep a repeat customer. read more

This Walmart seriously needs a change in management. While ringing up my items through self checkout with a half filled cart, what I guess to be the cashier manager began to make rude comments to me such as "If you can't afford it, don't go out" and "I hate it when people come through with carts, they are a waste of space". This woman was Caucasian with long bright blonde hair and I was the only one at the time in self checkout. First off I only go through self checkout because I have had bags stolen by cashiers multiple times and have caught them ringing up the same item multiple times, I don't trust them to handle my purchases. My husband had an incident with this same blonde haired woman because he caught her cussing out another cashier in front of people, hence he stood up for that cashier and called her out on it. read more
