Most of the vendors didnt appear friendly when I walked around but Inignore that. I selected the stall second from the door on the left. The woman and man working there were noticeably unfriendly from the start. The interaction felt cold and unwelcoming, and the looks and tone throughout the transaction were negative enough that it made me uncomfortable. I was also charged extra for rice to go with my general tso chicken and then charged $1 for a take-out box, even though I originally said I was eating there as I did but had significant left overs . It felt unnecessary and petty. The situation got worse when I bought a 12-oz Diet Coke from another vendor next to the pastry shop on the right when you walk in. I handed the cashier a $20 bill. The register clearly showed $18.41, yet he gave me $13.41 in change and walked away. When I called him back and showed him the numbers, he initially hesitated and spoke in another language rather than addressing the issue. Only after I showed him the cash that I left on the counter did he reopen the register and give me the $5 he had not returned. Mistakes can happen, but the combination of the horrible attitudes, the way I was treated, and the hesitation to correct the change left me questioning whether I was being treated differently. As a Black customer, that concern is real and cannot be ignored. First impressions matter, especially when someone new to the area is trying to support local businesses. Located right next to H Mart on Rolling Road, BeSeTo (short for Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo) occupies the space that used to be the longtime Hanori food court where I had been going for nearly 15 years. The renovation here is massive in the best way. The entire space feels brighter and more modern and the mix of vendors has improved dramatically. The food court is now located upstairs and features five total vendors offering a wide mix of Asian comfort foods. Over the course of a dozen visits I have tried all of them and everything has been fantastic as well as fairly priced. Some of the absolute must tries are the kalguksu with its rich handmade noodles, the sundae which is incredibly hard to find locally, the jajangmyeon and jjambbong duo for when you want to go classic Korean Chinese, and the jokbol when it is available. Portions here are extremely generous, many large enough to share, so it is well worth coming with friends or family. Ordering is very simple. Each vendor has a numbered menu and you can order easily in English if you do not speak Korean. Food comes out fast and always piping hot which makes it a perfect spot for a quick lunch or casual dinner. Downstairs you will find the shopping vendors specializing in Korean home goods. They carry everything from cookware and tabletop items to traditional style furniture and even herbal supplements. Browsing through the aisles genuinely reminded me of the household stores I visited in Seoul and it adds a cultural bonus to the overall experience. Overall, BeSeTo is a gem in Catonsville and a must visit for anyone who loves Korean food or wants to explore a slice of Korean culture. There are many food stalls inside that serve a variety of dishes such as the classic black bean noodles, jjamppong, fried mandu, and so much more. My only critique is that there was one food stall towards the entrance (I cannot remember the name) that was a bit inconsistent. I ordered a creamy rosé tteokbokki and one regular spicy tteokbokki. However, the rosé tteokbokki tasted exactly the same as the regular.. I believe it was missing a key ingredient to make the sauce more creamy. I found out about this place two years ago but just ate here today. I ordered from the first korean food stall and got dumpling ramen soup. It was delicious and what i needed for today. But be aware that to get a takeout box, it is $1 per box. Not a huge deal for me because I usually finish the food ;) Since it's a food court, I advise you to have realistic expectations about the service. The jajang there is pretty good and the serving size is good. They have some good noodles/kuksu as well. We had a large group coming from the end of a weekend retreat, and when we were looking up for places to go to for lunch, we thought Beseto was the best option to fit all of us. Even at around 2 PM on a Sunday afternoon, Beseto was still very busy. With multiple Korean food vendors, you can basically get any Korean staple you're craving, from donkatsu, all types of jjigaes and tangs, noodles, hot pots, bibimbaps, Korean-Chinese options, and more! I was craving sundae, so I ordered the following two sundae options: 35 SOON DAE (KOREAN SAUSAGE) - 14.95 For the price, I got plenty of soondae (three long links, cut up very nicely and topped with some spring onions) with a dipping sauce and seasoning. The soondae was pretty good and satisfied my cravings, but nothing extraordinary. It went nicely with the salt/seasoning. I had so much leftover to take home for another meal. 24 SOON DAE GUK (TRADITIONAL KOREAN SAUSAGE SOUP) - 13.95 The soondae guk was pretty sizable and comes with a bowl of white rice and a small amount of kimchi on the side. The kimchi was at the perfect fermented state and was a good mix of savory and sour. I enjoyed it. The soondae guk was just OK. The broth was flavorful but way too salty. There was a good amount of meat/intestine along with a few pieces of soondae and lots of chives and greens. Personally, I wouldn't get this soondae guk here again. I tried my friend's pork tangsuyuk and the breading here is quite thick. The pork I tried had a good amount of meat and fat, making it a very juicy bite. I wasn't the biggest fan of the sweet and sour sauce, and found that it lacked the "oomph" I was looking for. Note: If you need any to-go boxes, they charge 50 cents for each box/container. Beseto Asian Food Court is a food court (in the name) with several different restaurants/stands: Sushi Corner, Il Shik (Japanese dishes like udon, tempura, katsu), Joong Shik (Korean-style Chinese, with dishes like Jjajangmyun and Tangsooyook), and That Old Country Home (lots of Korean dishes on a large menu). I ate at That Old Country Home as I wanted a comforting meal. I loved the denjang-jjiae, it honestly might have been one of the best I've had. I got the fried mackerel, and the fish was a bit dry. I wanted to ask for more kimchi as it was quite good but it was kind of busy. Overall it's a pretty big food court with a lot of seating. I saw a lot of families when I was there. Whenever I'm in the area, I stop here for lunch if possible. The food is so fresh and there is an incredible amount of options. The three counters/kitchens are supposed to reflect the name of the food court - one is BEijing style, one is SEoul style, one is TOkyo style - BeSeTo. I like the variety and always try to get a dish I haven't tried previously. The counter ladies are always friendly and courteous. The upstairs food court is loud and often busy. Folks are enjoying their lunches with their friends, family, or solo. There is a bakery/bubble tea place in the same building. They are the only place outside of NYC where I have been able to get custard-filled Taiyaki. Next to the bakery is a sushi spot (have not tried). I believe the bakery and the sushi spot are closed on Mondays. Downstairs is a very cool daiso-style department store. We spent some time looking at all the menus and there were some tough choices to make! We ended up ordering from two stalls on the left. We got ox bone soup at one stand, and the split plate of black bean noodles and fried pork at the other stand. Overall, it's pretty affordable and the portions were big! The ox bone soup had a really light and flavorful broth. The black bean sauce was very rich and had a great umami flavor. They are also BYOB, so you could turn this into a fun date night! I did not expect a food court when I walked in! The location was larger than expected with a downstairs shopping portion. This was a solo lunch so I enjoyed my meal at a table overlooking the street. A lot of options to choose from but I went for udon and kimbap from the stall to the left. It was really good and piping hot! I also ordered a to go taiyaki and ube mochi doughnut from the dessert so tore up front. The ube doughnut was warmed up for me and it was really nice and chewy. The food court has 3 different styles of Korean Food, a sushi place and one I would like to say is "miscellaneous". The one to the left as you enter is the "street food" style. I call the last stall miscellaneous because they sell a variety of items from boba drinks to baked goods. The "traditional" stall is ok. Price is on the higher side. Great convenience for when you're shopping for groceries and have a hankering for a spicy kimchi stew. My favorite is the Middle Stall. The jjajangmyeon and tangsooyuk is where it's at.
