This review is for Walmart-Arbutus Maryland. I ordered 4 tires from Walmart.com. The tires were shipped to Walmart Arbutus in 3 days. The brand of tires were "Yokohama Geolandar" to be installed by Walmart service center. The appointment was for 9 am. I waited in their service center 1 hour & 15 minutes, before they pulled my vehicle in the Bay area. I ask, why someone having an appointment, was it necessary for them to wait over an hour. Their response was, because "we had to wait for the 10 am guy to arrive." At this point the service tech told me I needed a key to take the lugs off. Well, I had the vehicle for 11 years and no one ever ask me for a key. My vehicle is a Lexus RX 350. In the past I've taken it to Lexus dealership and they never ask for a key, presumingly they had a universal or master key that would fit many vehicles. Well, Walmart stated they didn't have keys and could not get the lugs off to install the tires. Needless to say, I took my 4 tires packing them in my truck went a half block down the street to "J's Tires" on Patapsco Ave. They took the lugs off the rims, mounted, balanced and installed my new tires too. My tires look great, installed by "J's Tires" and do not recommend going to Walmart Arbutus for any auto service needs. read more

I had a good experience with this Walmart. They have self-checkout which is great. I went on a Tuesday evening and they were not busy, so there were no long lines. They have a decent variety of clothes and other items, with a lot of clearance. There is ample parking as well. The shopping center also hold a 24/7 Giant supermarket and liquor store which makes shopping convenient! read more

The store itself, as far as orderliness, was fine. However, the customer service provided by the cashier was abysmal. One of the employees almost ran me over with a hand truck because of his carelessness. I definitely prefer to shop at Walmart online. read more

This place stunk of "weed" from the moment I walked in the door, and throughout the store. It was coming off of customers & employees alike. I'd be reluctant to buy clothes, towels, curtains, bed linens, etc. here, for fear that I'd never be able to get rid of the stench. This location had 28" Blackstone flattop grill listed as $49.97. I did 't originally get it. Took a pic and sent to my family to get their approval. Went back and put one in my cart still listed as $49.97. Went to check out and it came up as $199.99. Cashier said there's no way it's $49.97. I'm not one to argue too much but definitely questioned their price sign. Do better Walmart in Catonsville! read more

This location is not as crazy busy as the one in Ellicott City just up the road. I went looking for some simple baskets and picked up some freeze pops because why not. It's much much smaller than your average Walmart but you'll most likely find what you need. A few Walmart employees were outside chatting without their masks on. The parking lot spots are intentionally angled to deviate traffic in only one direction per aisle. The rest of the shopping center is a bit busy given the Giant in the next unit. The self-checkout cashier was complaining to someone she was on the phone with about how she makes only $700 every two weeks and that it's not enough to live off while assisting me without speaking to me. No matter what time of day you walk into this Walmart..it is packed, and it's an obstacle trying to navigate the shoppers, the associates on their phone & the stocking carts. I understand the need to keep the shelves stocked, but EVERYTIME no matter the time of day, the floor is cluttered with restocking carts. I visited this Walmart after learning some grills were on clearance. Not regular clearance. But like last season super sale clearance. I get there and can not locate the grill. Not only is the grill out of sight, so is any employee with some G-damn sense and customer service skills. I walked up to one employee stocking shelves and asked if he had one of the hand held things to check if an item is in stock. Before he could answer no, his loud mouth "manager" comes up and says "if you don't see it, we don't have it." I said okay, well I didn't see it. But it's possible I missed it. Can you check your inventory on the computer? Instead of doing that, she walks to where the grills are and I show her a picture of what I want. She looks at two sections of grills and restates they don't have it. There is another section of grills in another aisle but I don't even bother mentioning it because clearly, no one cares whether or not I purchase this grill. Also, a rat scurried across the floor so I had to GO. I was looking like WTH and the "manager" said it was "just a field mouse". It could have been a church mouse for all I care. Time to go. On my way out, I asked two more associate if they could check the inventory. I was desperate for that grill, y'all. Neither associate was helpful. Try to avoid this Walmart at all costs. You'll never be able to make a quick 5 minute stop, because once you get in line, you're looking at at least a 20 minute wait (I have waited longer ). There was a VERY short period during which the store seemed to be better managed, but in my 5 years of living in the area, there have always been ridiculously long lines, and I'm not sure why they don't try opening more to spread out a bit. read more

I thought other customers were rude but I had no problems with any of the employees. If anything, I was treated nicer than at most places. My problem was that they seemed to be out of the food items that I was looking for. I need to remember walmart is not a grocery store but they normally have the spices i need. While I wasn't able to get some items, I got many others. Basics like detergent, soap, toiletries....they had tons of stock and prices are much better here. The location itself is so busy but the area is extremely populated. I came here on a Tuesday afternoon, I cant even imagine what this place is like on a weekend. This is the closest Walmart to home for us. We stopped in here last night looking for a few last minute items. Terrible experience. There are numerous homeless drifters and beggars camped out in front of the store. The entrance and exit reek of human urine. I can't get the smell of human urine off of my shoes and I had to trash my shoes was a result of walking in this Walmart. Also the store had not one of the items that we were looking for. They have no fresh floral department at all - pretty much any other basic Walmart has at least a small floral department. Avoid this place at all costs. I'm attaching a letter I wrote to Walmart. ..Which in the end I received nothing for, even after their manager followed up with me and promised a whopping $20 gift card to be mailed to me. Don't waste your time with Walmart. ------ I am writing in response to an incident at your Walmart at 6205 Baltimore National Pike, Catonsville, MD. I waited in line with my boyfriend for over half an hour, for only two items that needed to be scanned, while your employees failed to help serve us. It was truly a test of my patience and a serious indication of the incompetence of your employees. Because the item we were purchasing did not have a price tag, barcode, or item number, your cashier, Tish called for another employee to find out the price. She made the call multiple times, with no response from the toys department. During the time we were waiting, she proceeded to serve over 10 customers who were in line behind us. We then used our phone to show her the price of the bike on your website, and asked if she could use that price. Negative. After 20 minutes of standing and waiting, I decided to help her out by going to bike section, to figure out the price. I am sure you know that your bicycles are located in the very back corner of the store. When I got there, I saw no employees working back there, and none of the bikes on your racks was the same one as the one we wanted to buy. I headed back up to Tish to ask her if I could bring a similar bike up for her to scan. Again, negative. I needed to find some sort of tag with the item number of the bike we wanted to buy. Once again, I headed back to the back of your store to look for this, and again found nothing in the very unorganized clutter of bikes you have on the racks. Finally, someone told Tish that she could use the online price to make the sale. I have many complaints about my experience at your Walmart. 1) Your store is in horrendous condition. It is dirty, unkempt, and unorganized. This situation could have been avoided if the inventory was better maintained and organized, with all of your items having their respective price tags. 2) It is utterly ridiculous to have to stand in your store to wait for your incompetent employees to perform one price check. This seriously should not take any more than 5 minutes. Somewhere along the way, one of your employees was not performing their duty, and nobody wanted to pick up the slack for him or her. It resulted in two very frustrated customers, standing in the front of your store for over 30 minutes. I believe we have plenty of reason to receive our purchase for free today. If not, then in all honesty, there is no reason for me to ever give you my business again. There are plenty of stores that can fulfill your same mission of "Save money. Live better." I can live much better by going to Kmart, Target, or Value City, where I have never experienced anything like this. I have many friends and family members who shop at your stores, but I will not hesitate to let them know the outrageously poor quality of service and respect Walmart has for their customers. In the end, I'm even shocked that your employees were not trained to give anything complimentary for such poor customer service. We were charged $163.20 for a Genesis Onyx bicycle. Horrible. My son just moved into his first apartment in Catonsville, so I placed an online order to surprise him. They never got the order ready. He spoke to customer service and they had no clue what to do, so he had to cancel the order. He then bought the items off the shelf, but the microwave was $10 more than online. I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. This place has had floor managers institute policies that are discriminatory to their patrons. Today I was told I could not do self checkout because I had more than 10 items. There are no signs indicating that. I asked the manager if this was policy and she said YES and I asked that they place signs because I saw another person come thru the line with more than 10 items. She demanded that I show her proof. When I told the girl standing around that I do self checkout to avoid cashiers handling my items due to Covid this young girl with a wig with bangs interjected herself into my conversation and said , "well other people have touched those things so deal with it"! I'm an RN, so I definitely don't need a Walmart worker to explain to me about how to decrease Covid transmission or anything about infection control. When I was talking to the manager she saw me complaining and came over to again impose her irritating and uneducated personal aura into my personal space yet again. She didn't like what I was saying so she acted as if she was going to get physical with me. Who raises some of these ghetto young women who decide that they can show physical aggression because they don't like what you're saying? Luckily the manager held her back so tasing her was unnecessary. Every time my daughter and I go there the same old 2 ladies try to stop us and check our receipt and bags. They are not loss prevention and I just walk past them. I hope they remain in business forever because I'm just going to shop at the locations in the more affluent areas. I'd hate to see their workers migrate to the AA and CC locations and infect their work ethics. In a pinch I'll just go to EC instead of this ghetto Walmart. They turn their badges around so you can't read their names to complain to corporate. They know that they give crappy service and don't want to be identified. If I could give it a zero, I would. I tried to call the store today to complain about my experience, but they either never picked up or put me on hold too long to get to a manager. This wal-mart is not the most convenient for me, but I was on my way to get ready for a wedding and thought to pick up somethings I needed and a steamer, in case no one at the house had one. My thought was that I could easily return it if I didn't need it and it would be better safe than sorry. When I got to the house, they said their steamer didn't work well. I thought we could give the one I bought a try, and I'd just eat the price. However, as I was opening the box, they said it was the same exact steamer. Therefore, I closed the one little cardboard flap I opened, and we used the already open and used one at the house. I go to return it. Tell them that I barely opened it and didn't use it, since we already had the exact same steamer. The woman opens the box and begins inspecting the top pieces like some kind of CSI. She says in front of everyone that it is definitely used when she is holding the brush attachment, (I don't even know what you would do with the brush!?). I told her again that I promised I didn't use it, and she said, "I didn't say that. I'm saying someone used it, but I'll return it anyway," like I should be grateful. When I turned and left the whole line was looking for me. It's really infuriating and embarrassing to be called a liar. It's not like this woman gains anything from me keeping or returning the steamer; I guess she just feels like she is serving justice by making such disrespectful comments. read more

I only come here to pick some things on the way to shop for Asian groceries. The customer service is not very reliable - it's already hard to find things because the store's poorly organized, but then the employees are not very helpful in telling you where things are. A number of years ago, I bought an electric shaver here. It took 30 minutes to find a manager to unlock the display case. When I finally got the shaver home I noticed that someone elses hair was in it and it was broken. It had apparently been returned, repackaged and resold. Another time my wife took some pictures to be developed. The prints were lost and we discovered after going back three times that they were misfiled due to a spelling discrepancy. Why did it have to take three visits to find the prints? The parking lot is horrendous and claustrophobic. If I could vote a negative 5 stars I would do so. I didn't want to say ghetto but someone beat me to it. This Walmart is located in the plaza with a Giant Food Store on the opposite end. The parking lot is very strange. It is usually impossible to find a parking space anywhere close to the store. You have to cross over (past incoming traffic from Baltimore National Pike) to an overflow lot. Once inside, the store is dirty and disorganized. People always seem to be waiting in a customer service line to return stuff. The cashiers are rarely (if ever) pleasant or helpful. Other employees never seem to be available for simple things like opening a display case. If you want to drive another 5 miles, there is a clean, newly remodeled, 24 hour Walmart in Ellicott City. read more

Didn't find out until I was scanning my items at self check out that this store doesn't accept printed coupons. Every other walmart in the area does so i have no idea why they don't. Really frustrating. Some sort of incident happened while I was there, but I'm not sure what. They kept calling employees to the back for meetings. I won't return to this location. read more

I am really impressed with the Catonsville location! i am a frequent Walmart shopper and have to say this location is much better than the Ellicott City location. i go in the morning, It is clean the shelves are stocked and no stock sitting out blocking the isles. Very organized no items misplaced on shelves which demonstrates the hard work of the Associates keeping up their departments. The shopping carts are not piled up all over the parking lot like other locations. large supply of carts available in the store. i find that the clothing departments have much more stock and nice clothes. Trash cans in parking lot are kept up. As a Walmart shopper I would like to thank the Associates for making this store a great shopping experience and the Management for hiring quality workers. Your hard work and effort shows and is greatly appreciated! The other locations can learn from your example! read more
