This grocery store was chaotic. There were several pallets left unpacked in the aisles, two powered pallet jacks parked in the way, and we had to navigate around all of these cluttered obstacles while the store was packed with Saturday shoppers. We nearly bumped into other customers multiple times. It was an unpleasant and frankly disorganized experience. There were also hundreds of empty boxes sitting on the shelves waiting to be discarded. It really seems like they don't have an overnight crew for stocking and cleaning -- everything was being done during the busiest hours, which felt completely mismanaged and not cool at all. A recent poor experience from staff at has me looking for an alternative. They failed to give more than 2-3 mins verbal notice inside of store that they were closing, did not say how long left to get to checkout, then suddenly told this customer to leave everything gathered and get out, then blamed customer for not knowing what time it was instead of expressing any sympathy or taking any responsibility. Many of the staff here have been nice, but it only takes one incredibly rude employee to sour this location for me forever. read more

Aldi always has some nice deals in grocery items. This store is in my top 5 rotation for low cost, quality, and location. I love that they have a great assortment of fresh produce for a decent price. They also have fresh meat, diary, frozen food and shelf food items as well. You can catch weekly deals of items that are mostly one-time deals, so get them if you can! One thing I was not crazy about this store is the limited staff, but I believe that is one of the reasons the prices are low. You do have to pay 25 cents for a cart via a system of inserting a quarter in the device on the cart to unleash it, but when you return the cart and place the plastic insert into the previous cart's device, you'll get it back. You also need to bring your own bags or purchase them in store (paper or plastic). Some stores have self-checkout (such is this one) which is a great option. All in all, a decent grocery store with fresh, low-cost items. read more

a horrible experience. self checkout has been removed, and there are never enough lanes open to handle the customers tapping their feet, 7 to 15 (!) waiting to get the heck out of there! Shelves are empty, half the produce is is down to two or three unfit for purchase, bugs everywhere, the frozen food section half empty. Checkers truly under pressure to move as many customers as possible, as products are tossed into an empty cart and buyers are expected to throw them on the floor to pick up after paying (I exaggerate a little, truly it is a bums rush experience). read more

The items here are so well priced & has everything I need. It's so much better than those oversized stores like Giant & Safeway that have aisles & aisles of different variations of the same thing. This location of Aldi is on a major road through Ellicott City and Catonsville. It is extremely messy, with cluttered aisles, empty shelves, disheveled products, and an insufficient number of cashiers for the number of customers. This store was just not run well or cared after. I abandoned my items and decided I was not going to wait in such a woefully long line. read more

So this location hasn't been open for too long. But boy oh boy, I'm so happy it is! It is located in the same shopping center as the PetSmart, across the way from the LA Fitness. It is at the end of the strip, at times I think the parking is a little tight. The store is clean and laid out nicely. It is much nicer then some of the other Aldi's that I have been to. The staff are around and always there to help you find the things you need. Keep in mind that this is a discount store, so you may not find all of the things that you need, but what you do find will be of a great bargain. I've also learned that this Aldi will be getting the organic items. I can't wait to try them. Oh yea, bring your own bags, or pay for theirs. Driving back from my daughter's soccer tournament, I needed to get a few baking ingredients and asked her to Google an Aldi in the area. I LOVE checking out different Aldi's since this is my favorite grocery store. Can't say enough good things about this one and I wish it was closer to me. My location is always busy and always has unorganized lines. This one had everyone lining up in the second to last aisle and someone directing people to a register. It moved very quickly! Also, their aisle of shame was so organized and ran the length of the store, unlike others who have it in a half aisle. There were a lot of items in stock that mine would have sold out of already. Cashier was very nice and didn't make me feel like a bomb was gonna go off if I didn't put my debit card in the machine fast enough (other Aldi nerds will understand this, you start sweating and heart is racing when it's your turn). read more

I have to say it, "I love ALDI". There are plenty of other supermarkets withe a wider selection of products. In fact I'm sure I go to Wegmans about as often and Giant even more so. I've heard about inexpensive ALDI was for years but never thought it was for me, thinking was another cut open box store. . . . but I was wrong. After I finally figured out how to get a shopping cart (I had to watch someone else then go back to my car and get a quarter) I headed in. (And what a brilliant idea to get people to bring their shopping carts back themselves instead of leaving them scattered around the parking lot.) It's not so much that the selection is small, I guess you would call it varied. Some of the items are even well covered. I even found ghost chili cheese . . . . and it wasn't fooling around. (If you know anything about me you would know that this is a very good thing!) So far everything I've tried of there store brand has been really good. They even have cookies that taste like some of the Girl Scout ones. Love the chocolate and peanut butter ones. Have I mentioned the pizzas? They have some interesting ones too. I really enjoyed the Cuban Sandwich pizza. And their store brand of frozen pizza has a great flavor. Lately me wife has me watching what I eat so pizza crust was a no no. Fortunately ALDI has a pepperoni pizza with a cauliflower crust. The rust isn't me favorite but it has the same great sauce and as long as my wife is convinced it's healthy I'm all in. read more

Their prices are great. Items like cookies, yogurt, and chips are less than half the price of regular grocery stores. They're Audi's generic brands, but they are usually just as good. They don't stock everything though. I drive in all the way from Ellicott City to go there. The parking's kind of tight though. read more

I've been shopping this location since they opened and have never had an issue. This 5 star review is because of the way they are handling Covid-19. They are absolutely on it! They are having people practice social distancing before you go in, have someone wiping carts with disinfectant before they give it to you, lines went fast, and they had markers on the floor to remind you where to stand. Aldi's and I have this love / hate relationship going on. I love their prices, selection of products, layout of store and cleanliness. However, I hate the fact that their produce is always on the edge!!! I don't recommend purchasing produce if you aren't using it the same day! Too many occasions my food has gone bad in a matter of 1 to 2 days. I don't care how cheap the food is, I still want to have a chance to eat it! They have vastly improved their selection of organic items but again, beware of the produce. On this particular trip, I purchased a bag of Mexican shredded cheese that said didn't expire until June ,however when I went to pour into my queso it was already molded! YOU GUYS. Aldi rules so hard. You'll come out of there with 937652 things and it'll ring up as $5. Aldi brands are legit - the quality is just as good as brand name and half the price. They just remodeled and did it lightning fast. It looks incredible in there. The employees are super friendly and always willing to help. I always love to go in and find some wicked deals on snack foods and neat imported foods. Just bring a quarter for a cart that you get back at the end, bring your own bags to bag your own stuff and you're set! Oh, and produce quality is awesome. I get cheap bagged fruit there and it's pristine. A lot of organic options too and a LOT of MSC seafood!! How incredible can you be? read more

Treat ALDI as a mini-Costco where you can grab cheap staples on the fly, and you'll do fine. Yeah, the vast majority of the store is "house brand" product with labels that look suspiciously familiar. But, honestly, the products are generally of good quality. Organic soymilk at half the price of Silk, cheap bags of snacks, decent-looking produce... The choices are restricted, but given that I get most of my food from a co-op, the local Asian markets, and our local farmers' markets, there's nothing (apart from deli) I can't get at ALDI that I normally buy at Giant or Safeway, and at better prices. Count me as someone who actually likes the ALDI system. No carts littering the lot, the checkout lines move blazingly fast, and reusable bags are the norm rather than the exception. read more

Sonnya B's prerequisites of coming here are spot on. The reason why you don't get to use your credit card at Aldi is because their prices are cheap! We all should be aware that when processing credit cards, the companies take a certain percentage of that transaction away. However, just paying with cash, they don't get any setbacks from it, hence why they're able to give us cheaper products. Most of their products are good quality and service is consistent. It's not a big store so it won't have everything you need, but the things you do get, they're usually cheaper and of the same or similar quality. read more

Aldi Catonsville is one of the best of all the Aldi locations I have been to. The store is clean and very well stocked, more stocked than other Aldi locations. It also is laid out more logically with the produce being first as you enter. The employees are all very helpful and friendly. The Manager, Sandy does an awesome job which reflects in the store being clean, well stocked and great employee morale. The prices can't be beat. Love the seasonal products. read more

Wow, I shopped at this Aldis for the first time today since last summer. The interior has been renovated and it is like a totally new store. The number and variety of products seem to have been significantly increased. I liked the old Aldis. It was quirky but it was also drab. The drab is gone and it's a very inviting store now. The prices are still fantastic. I also like the smaller size compared to the large supermarkets. It's easier to get in and out. I'll definitely be shopping here more often. read more
